This gym is a joke. I used to like this gym but they have ridiculous standards, I had to cancel my membership because I relocated to an out-of-state college. When I called to cancel my membership, they proceeded to tell me they can’t cancel my membership unless I have proof, that I moved out of state, I should not have to provide anything, if I’m canceling, I’m canceling and that’s it. On top of that they charge you $50 to cancel, seriously?!. Once my membership is canceled. I will never go back to this gym.

Made it very hard for my 78 years old mom to cancel her membership.
My mom signup at the gym, without the need to send an email. However, when she wanted to cancel, they required her to send an email. My mom took an Uber to the gym, simply to cancel her membership. They didn’t let her do that. She has no access or interest in using email. I was eventually asked to send an email on her behalf (weeks later). I was then told that it required a 30 day written notice, and because the anniversary for next year fell within those 30 days, they would charge her another membership fee for the following year (that she will never use).

Recently called due to a sudden huge charge. I did not at any point argue nor debate the charge, but rather wanted to know what was going on. I believe I spoke to John, who was incredibly condescending. It caught me off guard as I wasn’t hostile or argumentative in the slightest. I asked a question and conversed normally.
The entire call was him pointing out how cheap 9.99 is and saying he can’t believe I can’t pay it. He states “it’s a year commitment, clearly in the fine print,” when I shared that I’d like to now cancel my membership. This is a sentiment that he repeats 5 or 6 times, even talking over me and blatantly ignoring me. Eventually I had to just hang up. He didn’t help me at all. The judgement/assumptions about my situation were uncalled for and inappropriate.

I had a very disappointing experience with this gym. First, the cleanliness of the facility is poor and several machines are outdated or not working properly, which can even be unsafe (for example, the leg extension machine).
On top of that, when I requested to cancel my membership due to relocation, I provided all the required proof according to their own written policy. However, they still tried to force a $50 cancellation fee that does not apply under relocation. This is misleading and unfair.
What makes it worse is that I had cancelled with the same gym before, under the same relocation reason, and never had to go through this unreasonable process. The inconsistency and lack of respect for their own policies is shocking.
I do not recommend this gym — poor maintenance, poor cleanliness, and unfair business practices.

8 machines are broken including 2 hamstring machines. Both seated rows and cable work outs.. I have emailed corporate multiple times and have gotten no response. I have asked the staff and they have not been able to give any update… walked in on a hot day all the machines were moist and it was 75 degrees in there. Please start fixing things. I like the gym but to many things broken.

STAY AWAY! FRAUDULENT COMPANY!! They lure you in with promos. If you try to cancel after your 1-year contract under promo, they will say you need to give 30-days notice. They'll tell you that you can't give notice while still under contract as they can't process the cancellation, then attempt to continue to Bill you the increased annual fee AND an additional month while cancelling despite you putting through the cancellation. They are actively engaging in unlawful unfair and deceptive trade practices. Charges upcoming will be flagged for Fraud. BBB is being contacted as well. STAY AWAY.
Update: They have now submitted false documents to a lawyer for "debt collection" in VIOLATION OF THE FDCPA. Despite the "I'm sorry, we can work this out" responses to curb negative reviews have been met with silence or hostility. Employees lie about not being charged, where to call or send emails, and progressing to unfair and deceptive trade practices. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM.... They will try to bill you for annual fees and unknown fees even after you cancel your membership.

Update: June 2025 - I'm still a member here, and was notified about an increase in the cost of membership that was attributed to improvements in the facilities. Unfortunately, there have been only selected "improvements" to the facilities. There are some new weight machines, but so many of the old machines have cushions that are cracked and remain unrepaired after many months, and even some of the "new" treadmills have a noisy platforms or are broken. The lateral machines have so much play in the arms they're uncomfortable to use, and the upright bicycles don't function properly. Many of the elliptical machines have chunks missing from the hand grips. The staff is great but ultimately this place is a convenient dump.
Original review, October 2024 - I've been coming here for years, and the staff is excellent. Lots of machines for cardio, although I miss the TVs on the treadmills. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and machine upkeep is not good. There's hair all over the floors of the women's locker room, and sometimes discarded items lie on the floor for days. Many of the weight machines really need their upholstery replaced. At least one of the stationary bicycles needs repair, and the lateral machines need adjustments - the arms are loose. It could also use a coat of paint, but that's minor.
I'm debating joining Planet Fitness instead, since it was always clean when I briefly belonged there a couple of years ago, and there were lots of TVs to distract me from boring indoor cardio.
It would be great if the cleanliness and maintenance were improved! I'd be happy to adjust my review if that happens.

I really love this gym, the staff is super friendly and encouraging. The atmosphere is great. Only removed 2 stars because the hamstring machines have been broken forever. Theres 5 broken treadmills, and the stair master is always broken as well. Theres a cable that hasnt been fixed for rows. I wish they would be more on top of their maintenance and replacing the machines with newer ones. Hopefully they will upgrade soon

At first glance when I initially became a member I thought it was a great gym because of friendly staff. Unfortunatly since I’ve been here consistently over a year now it has became worse. Gym is always dirty, machines are consistently broken instead of being fixed and gym is not continuously evolving compared to other gyms. I would give it less of a rating if it wasn’t for the staff being so nice. If they didn’t have the great staff that they do I’d give it 2 stars.
Also, I have been to YouFit gym in other states and they are all UPDATED and clean with the latest new evolving machines. If you become a member to any gym they take out yearly maintance fees for maintaince and updates. That being said this gym owner clearly seems to just want to get all the profit. Very evident.
I soon plan to move on to a new gym due to all the negative but I will miss the staff when I do leave due to the fact that the cons out way the pros.

I've been going to this gym for several years now and it's fine, but management does not listen or care about your feedback. We have been complaining about the terrible, broken sound system in the class room for years and they refuse to acknowledge or fix it (look at the review below where the gym told the person to "wear personal headphones" instead of accepting the issue. Headphones will NOT fix the problem, it's broken!) The fans have also been broken in the class room, it gets way too hot in there and I've seen people nearly faint because of it. The gym used to send out emails asking for feedback but have stopped doing it.
Also, they do not update the classes in the app. If there's a change, you won't know until you get there. Sometimes it's a completely different class than what the app says.
That being said, the gym is generally clean, the front desk staff are nice, and the instructors are great. This could be a top tier gym if they simply invested a couple hundred dollars to fix the issues that have been evident for years.

Recently joined YouFit, facility/ locker area/bathroom is spotless. Nicole always addresses me by name when I enter and is very helpful. I especially love the variety of classes offered that another gym I am a member at.....Planet Fitness does not. The app is a bit glitchy as I am not able to book classes through it instead I need to physically go in to book a class, other than that nice facility, pleasant staff, great variety of classes offered.

El gimnasio cumple con su propósito, los empleados no tanto, la admistradora se cree la dueña del lugar y 0 modales a la hora de resolver una situación con el cliente, allí otros clientes tardan horas en una máquina EN EL CELULAR y nadie les dice nada, parece que le dan más ejercicios a sus dedos en el celular q a la rutina que se supone estén realizando, si voy con mi esposo no me importa ya que el como buen boricua habla sin pelos en la lengua y saca a cualquiera que esté perdiendo el tiempo 🤷🏻♀️ pero es super molesto esa situación, ya que los empleados no hacen absolutamente NADA, los baños son un asco y cuando digo asco o sea es ASCO, ahhh cuando canceles tu suscripción ASEGURATE q te la cancelaron por que si no te dañaran tu crédito y cuando vayas a tratar de resolver vendrá la admistradora con cero modales de la que te hable y te dejara igual sin ayuda, es una pena por que ese tipo de personas se les olvida que un día te pueden encontrar en tu trabajo y ser ellos los clientes que necesiten 🥴❤️

I recently moved to an area that doesn’t have a YouFit location nearby, so I tried to cancel my membership. Unfortunately, the cancellation process has been incredibly difficult. Not only do you have to provide proof of your move, but there’s also a $50 cancellation fee, which seems excessive. Additionally, they won’t let you cancel in person, so you’re left to navigate the entire process online or over the phone, which is both time-consuming and frustrating. I expected more flexibility, especially considering the circumstances. Overall, it’s been a disappointing experience

this gym could easily become a 5 star location because the equipment brands and choices of machines are great. However maintenance is very poorly managed. Most of the machines either have loose parts, the pads are torn apart and never replaced and adjustment knobs often time do not function or move at all due to rust or stickiness. Even when i’ve brought problems with machines not functioning properly to the attention of the staff, they acknowledge it but whether it’s them or the managers that do not take the next step to actually get it fixed, i would not know. I have a membership to multiple gyms in the area and this is my most expensive membership yet is the only location i visit where it feels like they don’t have a technician that routinely does maintenance or checkups on all the machines. For the $15, or even $30 for myself, that members pay monthly it can feel like a slap in the face knowing the gym we frequent is being neglected. I hope this reaches management or the owners and something changes, because i will gladly change my review to a 5 star if the problems are acknowledged addressed, and solved.

I love the gym and the people. Absolutely amazing staff. The gym is clean. When equipment breaks/needs to be fixed, it takes month for technicians to show up to even look at them. We pay to be a member of the gym yet the equipment is broken, and when the gym is full/busy, sometimes you end up waiting and sometimes you just don't have the time to wait. Corporate needs to do better.

This is my favorite gym I've been to. They keep it really clean all the time. Theres usually a worker cleaning whenever you get in. They are very hospitable and help out as much as possible. There is a great selection of cardio machines, and lots of different muscle workout machines. Even when it's crowded you usually can get a spot on the machine you want without waiting forever. They have classes almost every day of the week in a variety of things (free for lime card members!) and they also have Zumba. I love youfit.

My wife went to this gym for three months while on a travel assignment and was told when she signed up, there would be no cancelation fees. When she left, she was told she had to provide a statement that we moved to not pay the fees, which she did, and we were billed anyway.

This gym is the Average Joe's of the Providence area! The only reason I was a member for so long is that it was 5 minutes from my house. The gym itself is just okay; parking is difficult, and the group class schedule has limited choices, with classes getting cancelled without notice.
What ended up pushing me to finally cancel my membership was the yoga class I really liked being taken off the schedule completely, and during a kickboxing class that same week, the instructor told the class that we would have gotten a better workout staying home and eating a bag of chips. The first time I took that kickboxing class, the same instructor had us pair up with a partner and then said to look at them and say "I'm better than you". If there were more choices in classes, I would not have returned after that comment.
After deciding to cancel my membership, I was able to find a different local gym that offered a much more robust group schedule and was much nicer overall.

"Manager" chewed me out for leaving a bad review due to the lack of available equipment. What kind of employee does this?

Overall, it is not a bad place to work out, but the staff and cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

Their sculpt and spin classes are my favorite and the main reason why I joined the gym in the first place. However, last year, I started to accompany my sister to a class called “Silver Sneakers.” Although the class is geared towards older gym members, it is the kind of class that is accessible and enjoyable for someone like my sister who is a young adult with intellectual and developmental disability, and limited mobility. This class has quickly become their most popular class at the gym, and for good reason. My sister’s balance and leg strength has significantly improved after a few months of consistently going. John, who teaches “Silver Sneakers” among other classes, always goes above and beyond. We’re so happy to have found this gym community.

Be very careful they are scammers. Upon signing up you’ll be charged twice, for your monthly membership and an annual fee. (They withhold that information). Any issues you have you’re better off going in person and making sure they show you proof that it was submitted. They are liars ! If you need a refund for any reason they’ll mail it, they can take your money instantly but make you wait years for a refund. Always ask for the name of an associate and write down the time you called. Stay far away, they’ve been commenting on Google post for years but make very little or no improvement at all ! A dishonest unprofessional establishment

Very disappointed in this gym. I have been a member for several years and I recently moved so I had to quit my membership. I came in and filled out the paperwork to cancel on November 9 and paid the cancellation fee. I also paid the membership fee for November. Yesterday I checked my bank account and found that I was charged yet again for membership fees. I called them and come to find out that cancellation paperwork was never submitted and there was nothing they could do so I was out another membership fee. I called the gym five times and ask for the manager and each time the employees told me that she would call me back. She never called me back. The last time I called they told me the paperwork was submitted today and there was nothing they could do to refund me. I’m very disappointed in this gym, who I have been loyal to for several years. Very unprofessional and horrible customer service.

We have been members since opening & always enjoyed this gym, but lately staff changes have left the facilities less than spotless. The floors, equipment & ventilation all need attention. I saw the same paper towel sitting on the floor for four days straight. The equipment needs a good cleaning & the ventilation/heat ducts are coated in dust visible from the floor. Several machines have been “out of order” for weeks, the music is often too loud(it overtakes my own AirPods) and the handicapped spots are often taken by clients without need or proper plates. What’s going on Youfit ???

Best gym I have join by far! Super clean facility and awesome parking space. Friendly environment and safe. Staff is so knowledgeable and friendly… always positive attitude and I’m always greeted it with a smile from whoever is at the front desk. Gym manager Miranda goes out her way to help you and ALWAYS so attentive to what you have to say and is always ready to help. John is always making sure everything run smoothly and every club members feels safe. From the gym manager to the lady that clean … everyone is superb at what they do. Danisha, Paul, Andrew, Miranda John .. they all have great work ethic. I can’t say enough about this place. Definitely a definition and result of perfect management. Ohhh and don’t miss the spinning clases on Thursdays with John!

This people are horrible. I join their gym and I canceled my membership because it was around Covid of last and financially couldn’t keep going anymore. I paid for the last month I attended and I reached out to them and their branch in Florida. They said it was okay I can cancel. Past forward to today I got a collections from them in my credit report. This people are greedy and horrible. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THEM. While people were struggling during Covid all they cared about was ripping people off. Especially to report it to my credit for WHAT. They do NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.

I cancelled my memberships Jan 8th went inside and payed 10 dollars to cancel. It’s February 4th and I was still charged, I called in and the person at the front desk confirmed my plan was cancelled on Jan 8th and someone did not process the cancellation. I was also told I have to wait 30 days for a refund. Also almost every cardio machines are broken the stair masters especially. Do not attend this gym

The team is extremely nice !! Shannon , Louis and John are the one I interact with. They are very friendly and pleasant to talk to. They always greet you with a motivating or kind word when you come in. They are always maintaining the place clean. I left planet fitness 2 minutes from my home and drive 20 min to Youfit because of the people working there and of course tte great ambiance .

Went for about 4 years because it was nearby. Unfortunately, there’s not much good to say about it other than the hours being better than *some* other gyms.
The mirrors usually have saliva on them from when people breath heavy while squatting, people always dead lift in front of the squat rack, nobody puts weights back, it doesn’t have enough equipment for the amount of people that visit the gym (except sometimes when it’s not busy), there’s always dudes yelling really loud in there and not respecting other people.
The employees just do their job which is great, but a lot of other gyms have much better service and some provide it at a lower cost.
Update - June 18, 2021 : Although I did experience Youfit 4 years ago, I have gone to Youfit *for 4 years*, my last time being towards the end of 2020. The last time I went was a months ago, not years ago. I stopped going because they closed the gym, but continued to charge my membership. I went to another gym who let me pause my membership or compensates in the case of any lock downs or closings.

I joined You Fit pre Covid. Took senior classes which were ok. Also signed up for personal training. When Covid hit and the gym closed, they didn’t charge me but when it opened partially, no classes or training, I was charged the total price anyway. Charged for training when they didn’t offer it. I noticed and complained. Was told my contract was with the gym not with the trainer (my trainer had also left the gym)
Contacting corporate is impossible, one phone number kicks you back to your own gym..no emails answered, even ones the local manager said she sent. Not in spam or my box. They continued charging me $160 a month. I had 11 training sessions someone could give me when training returned. If I disputed the charges I couldn’t get the training and same if I canceled my membership. So I took the 11 sessions. 30 min each. Ok. Then kept membership because it’s pretty cheap, roomy and clean. Actually haven’t been back. I will go ride a bike if they remain open. Got a legal notice about bankruptcy today. Their corporate policies are greedy. During Pandemic, a senior citizen charged for programs not offered and no attempt to refund. When I finally got a call from a FL executive I told her the same. Read the fine print people.

They charge for services not used during the pandemic. I’m still trying to resolve an issue with them sending me to collections when the pandemic began, I was still charged when I never received any notification about the gym. After I spoke to a manger and was told it was taken care of I decided to go back just to start receiving calls in regards to the collection. Now I’m also been slammed with late charges and monthly fees when the gym was closed once again because of new restrictions. I called the office only to get someone very rude on the phone who had no desired to help.

Scammers. Even after you cancel your membership they will call and tell you that you owe them money. Even after going in person and showing them proof of your cancellation! Avoid this place and get fit somewhere else. I’ve been a member at other gyms and never had an issue after canceling my membership.

Scammers. Spoke to a manager about canceling when I graduated college in 2018 - they now call me monthly saying they're offering a balance forgiveness program if I sign back up. For what reason would I owe money if I canceled after paying each month on time? Stay clear, Planet Fitness is ran much more professionally, I'm surprised You Fit is still in business with their rude employees and shady practices.

I joined this YouFit when my wife and I got married a couple of years ago because she was already a member. I really liked the free weight area although I did wish they had more Smith machines and power racks. The gym is kept clean generally speaking but there were times when they ran out of paper towels. When the shutdown began in March YouFit continued to charge us for our membership and when we called to find out why we were given a story about how the money was being used for employee benefits. Serious lack of communication from YouFit. We’re also members at Planet Fitness on Mineral Spring Ave. When the shutdown started they emailed us they were freezing our memberships until further notice and would let us know when they were going to reopen. YouFit did give us credit for the time out but why such a hassle? My wife and I decided to cancel our memberships because we may be moving out of the area. When we went there yesterday to do that we actually told the young lady working there that we may rejoin if we stay in North Providence to which she replied that we were being charged to cancel.
Needless to say we won’t be rejoining YouFit. They appear to only care about the money. Very, very unprofessional! Very careless! There are better gyms out there.

Terrible customer service. When Covid 19 hit and the gym was closed, they continued to Bill my checking account. When I finally caught on, I was told I had to write an email to mike the manager of this location to get a refund. Upon emailing mike I was told I was not eligible for a refund but that my account would be frozen and two credits added for the months I had been charged. I was agreeable with this. Apparently they opened back up and didn’t start charging people until last month ( August) when they charged people for two months. Then again they charged last week for for another month. They charged me for the full price of membership with classes when they have not yet resumed classes. This is unfair. When I went into the branch to inquire about a refund they said they would not refund only credit for the months they reopened and they would freeze my account. My account was already supposed to be frozen since I pay for classes and classes have not yet resumed. I was told my account would stay frozen over the phone by mike until classes had resumed. At this point I was understandably upset and ready to cancel. Although I had been a member at the gym for many years mike did not seem to want to work with me to keep me as a member and even ended up charging me a cancellation fee on top of not refunding me the money I was owed. I would avoid this gym at all costs because they seem to scam money from customers whatever way they can. General membership without classes is not worth it because many of the machines are down most of the time and you’re unable to use them anyway. This gym is often dingy and dusty and out of paper towel. I’m going to sign up at planet fitness on mineral spring tomorrow. It’s right down the street from youfit and much cleaner with classes and tons of machines that are much newer.

This place has been closed for almost 2 months and they have the audacity to continue charging people in a pandemic. Had to put a permanent stop payment through my bank... recommend others do, too.
UPDATE (12Aug2020): Got a call last week from this location telling me they're open again. Awesome! What enhanced protocols have you adopted? They tell me people must wear masks... except on the exercise floor. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose? You can look them up on social media -- nobody's wearing a mask in the workout area. Nice. I told them I'll wait until the pandemic cools down or people start taking it seriously before I return. Sounds like YouFit wants YouSick.
Then I got a call yesterday from their internal collections. Maybe they're upset I didn't come back right away? They tell me I have a past-due balance. That's right, that would be the amount you attempted charging me AFTER you closed. I got the payment reversed through my bank and put a stop-payment on all subsequent charges. They tell me I can return or cancel, but if I want to cancel, I have to give 10 days notice and pay past dues, including the unauthorized charge, the current month's charge, a new annual fee, and I may incur an additional month's charge while waiting the 10 days. LOL?! I'm not paying you all that just to NOT go. Who gave me 10 days notice you would close AND try to charge me? How many hundreds of other members did you try charging? Smells like class action to me. They told me I entered into an agreement. I pointed out: that's right! So did YouFit -- they agreed to render a service; however, they tried charging me despite not providing that service. She had no response.
Some other reviewer thought they were clever to suggest staff are giving out free drinks to members. I've never gotten a free anything! Either staff thought you were cute and didn't tell you they paid for your drink, or the franchise owner would be very displeased to learn staff are undermining the business.
I actually was going to return once things cooled down. You know what they say about adversity revealing your character -- YouFit has demonstrated poor character and business ethics. Patrons: Consider carefully to whom you give your business.

To all members being charged for services they cannot use because YOUFIT is closed , are you upset ? When was the last time your job paid you for not coming to work? I have tried to reach Youfit by phone and email to address the charges but no response. I ask myself how is this legal . I am very disappointed in any business that treats customers like this and you should too. I understand the amount is only 22.dollars a month but can I ask you ,when did you ask for a drink from the cooler and they said don't worry about it ? I would like to add up all those 22 dollars a month from all of us, maybe 1000 members at the No. Providence Club times 22 dollars a month, looks like we're paying YouFit to not provide us with service. How many months have you contributed, 2 mabe 3. and when will the charges end? Demand a credit don't be a fool , how long will we pay for services we cannot use . Fitness clubs will be one of last to open, think about all of the body contact with the equipment. Thank You
