About the Club

I offer one on one, group and remote personal training, as well as in person and remote nutrition sessions. I have 29 years of experience in strength training, muscle toning, flexibility training, body building, extreme weight loss, general weight loss, weight gain, and all aspects of diet and nutrition. I obtained a masters degree in exercise physiology in 2002 and a 2nd masters degree in food science in 2007. I am NASM certified in Personal Training, Nutrition and Yoga

So, I took a chance and hired a personal trainer after nothing else had worked and I am so glad I did. Jay is very professional. I have gotten myself in such a hole physically and I suspect mentally when it comes to self care. In 3 weeks, I am down 6 pounds. I have not been below 260 in yrs. I searched for a while and really did my research for the best trainer in Gallatn and Hendersonville for my goals which was to lose weight and take me out of the pre diabetic zone.
I have been with Jay for less than 2 months and my doctor weighted me in yesterday and I'm down 28 lbs and my A1c now puts me out of the pre diabetic zone and I know longer have to take insulin! I know that sounds crazy for less than 2 months but following Jay's nutrition and obviously with his training I feel like the sky is the limit.
I COULDN'T recommend someone higher and I feel blessed to have found Jay

I have been working with Jay for a few years now he is very knowledgeable in nutrition and workout techniques. I struggle with diet as I’m a vegetarian and Jay is very helpful keeping me on track making sure that I’m getting what I need to build muscle and tone. It was surprisingly hard to find a good personal trainer in Gallatin, but Jay's been a godsend. Not only does he focus on the exact type of training you need for your body goals, he works with you to develop healthier eating habits and improve your lifestyle beyond the training sessions.

I hired Jay around February and it’s been amazing. He is tough, but kind.. and super motivating… oh and a wonderful DJ! The workout goes by so quick because he’s full of stories! The set up is also perfect- he has a gym and outdoor space with a wide variety of equipment. While working out, he makes sure to ask if you are feeling ok.. and if you aren’t he quickly modifies the workout so you still get the best results. I’ve lost 13 lbs so far and haven’t been the best with tracking my meals.. which he also checks! He lives and breathes health and wellness.. inside and out. I’ve never felt better. I've been training with Jay since the 2nd week of January and I can honestly say he's a phenomenal trainer. His approach is tailer made to each and every client so you never feel overwhelmed with the workouts. This week signifies 6months since starting with Jay and since then I have lost 25lbs!!!! When I first met Jay I was a bit intimidated, as anyone would feel never having worked with a personal trainer before and having fallen off the wagon. However throughout this 6month journey, Jay has proven himself to truly be one of a kind as a personal trainer and guide. He has worked relentlessly to get me to my physical goals and works even harder when I have reached mini-milestones. I now reach for the clothes that once were too tight and now fit just right. My mood, energy and mental health have greatly improved. I am also one who gets seasonal depression, however with my workouts at home and constant training sessions with Jay I don’t feel or see it as much. My body is slowly (but surely) getting toned/leaned and my friends and family are noticing small changes here and there as well. This journey is anything but easy, I have had moments where I have reverted back to bad behavior, but Jay is there to put me back on track and help me refocus on my goals by talking and reflecting back on how hard we’ve worked to get to this point. How much has changed from our first training session to now. I highly recommend giving this guy a chance. As intimidating as it may be with that first encounter, Jay truly has a pure heart that only means well to help you both physically, mentally, and emotionally. Jay trained my mom who was in her 80s at the time. He was amazing with her, kind, gentle but made her work out! During Covid I was looking for a virtual trainer, so I worked out with Jay 3 days a week for over a year. I loved working with Jay. I have back injuries and degenerative disc disease which often causes my back to completely go out. The frequency of this was significantly higher with added weight I had put on which is why I looked for a personal trainer. When I found Jay, I gave him my list of physical limitations and he was always extremely encouraging whether it was to push myself a little farther or to trust my body. He always tailored my workouts to how I was feeling which legitimately changes with the weather! For 45 minutes, 2-3 times a week, Jay showed up in the cold and the heat for months to help me get off a majority of the excess weight and not only did I lose around 30+ lbs and gain muscle, but I also learned so much about what my body could handle and how much further I could push myself even when I think I've reached my limit. Lessons I keep with me even when I'm not working out with Jay. I highly recommend you give him a call. Jay is an excellent trainer. First…he listened to what I was looking to do as far as working out. He gently pushed me to do a little bit more. Before I knew it I was able to get to a place in my workouts I never knew I would. Especially with cardio, which was never my strong point. Second….he really cares about you. I am no longer able to work out but I get a text every now and then just to see how I am doing. Third……he made working out so enjoyable. My experience with Jay has been great. He is always hands on and fully present during every training session and very often does the exercises alongside me. Jay has been my trainer for close to two years now and I love working with him. He is very responsive and even helps when I need with nutrition tips. During the course of the last two years, I have lost weight and continue to feel motivated to live a healthier lifestyle. I am in my 40s overweight and having some health issues due to it. I was looking for a trainer who could help me lose some weight and get healthy. I lost over 30 pounds in just a few months. I was never really into working out or lifting weights but Jay made it fun. He's very motivated to make sure you meet your goals. He always keeps it fresh we never do the same workout, he makes wanting to workout actually enjoyable. He helped me get on the right track with my diet which was something I never really paid much attention to before. I am so happy that I'm losing weight I feel better about myself I have more energy I'm sleeping better. It has really been life changing for me. Highly recommend Jay! He will get you where you want to be.

I was a 56 year old overweight mom of two who started training with Jay in May of 2022. I thought I was a hopeless case because of all the many injuries over the years, (multiple herniated discs, lack of cartilage in my neck, torn ligaments in both wrists and a fractured ankle that healed incorrectly). During our first consultation and after listening to my litany of injuries Jay designed a customized plan for me which gave me hope. Jay is an amazing trainer who truly knows his craft, he is knowledgeable and passionate about nutrition, exercise and practices what he preaches. His knowledge of what a proper diet consists of has been so helpful to me achieving my weight loss goals. I have been training with Jay 4 times a week and each session is customized to my fitness goals so I can reach my full fitness potential. One of the things I admire most about Jay is he is constantly perfecting his craft and he encourages you while training. You will never be disappointment or bored with Jay as your trainer.
