I had a natural disaster and lost my residence in April and had to abruptly move out of Franklin. I emailed the staff as soon as it happened, they said they would need proof of a new electricity bill of my new home to stop charging me. They charged me again on 4/21 and I got proof of my new electricity bill and sent it to them on 4/24 and asked for a refund because I no longer had my home in Franklin. They refused to refund me because I did not send them proof quick enough. I lost my home and I was dealing with so many other things and it was unfortunate to be charged another $100 dollars with a lack of empathy in this rough time. Sometimes businesses forget the people they’re dealing with are human.

FAC was a great gym at a great place. Carbon culture has barely any new equipment and the cost to go to the gym is now like 4x. Not to mention all the owners are juiced out on steroids and promote them all over the gym.

Have been a member for about a year and a half now and couldn't be happier. Stays clean and equipped, just about anything that breaks (machines) is fixed within the week. Plenty of classes free and paid for. Very convenient operating times and the subscription is very reasonable for what is offered. Used to be a movie theater so it's nice and open with plenty of parking!

So the facility itself is actually decent but the rest of it blows and i wouldnt waste your time with a membership here. With the way theyve been handling covid and the way they operate in general it comes as no surprise that they’re trying to charge me and send some debt to collections apparently i have with this gym i havent gone to in over a year. Probably just trying to money grab as much as they can before they go under. So if you like stuff like that this is the gym for you… until it inevitably goes under from what ive heard. I’ll also be contacting my lawyer and friend in the state department of health

Revision: In the past I have loved this place. For a lot of reasons I still do. I’m revising my rating currently due to the lack of maintenance. Stuff breaks in gyms… but lately stuff just stays broke. The sauna has only worked about 1 month of all 2021 and has currently been broke for the past 3 months. I will revise again once that gets fixed but will still post with a caution that, while affordable, the memberships come with long contracts that are extremely expensive to cancel early… so honestly, all their equipment can break and they don’t care. At least that’s the way it seems.

I recently came down with a rare syndrome due to contracting covid, I have been essentially disabled and unable to get a proper appointment with Vandy due to long wait lists for the specific doctor type I need.

I called up to the Franklin Athletic club to cancel my membership because I literally cannot go anymore due to this unforeseen illness (+ I am at a great potential to lose my current job because of this). The staff - particularly “Jenn” was very unreasonable, unprofessional, and non-sympathetic - claiming that “a lot of people are calling saying similar things to get out of contracts...” basically assuming I lied about this even after I had explained my unique situation and how I could offer a list of doctor appointments as proof since I could not get in for my official diagnosis appointment for 4-8 months..

She did not listen one but and told me her phone was very busy and did not cancel my account.

I might add she did mention that the only cancel accounts in certain extreme situations and then backtracked on that statement... as if coming down with a rare syndrome that essentially disables you isn’t that lol.

Honestly blown away at the lack of understanding, professionalism, and maturity with this gym staff. I will not be recommending this place to anyone as a result.

Cancel my member in June and now in August came to find out that my card was still being charged called and they stated that there was nothing they could do called there billing office and the lady in billing stted i will still get charged for another month. Manager is not precessional at all very rude and not helpful at all.

The equipment and gym were good when I was using it but upon moving, I came here and signed the necessary documents to end my membership. Months later I find out that they had been trying to bill me for an ongoing membership and were trying to send my account to collections. This is extremely unprofessional and reflects poor Management and a lack of personal care for members. Wish they had any decent customer service because the actual equipment was good.

Had a membership at lifetime athletic for the past year...I'm back at FAC full time. If you don't need resort-style amenities, and just want to get in shape, then this is a real gym with much better equipment. I shower and relax at home and go to a gym to get in shape. FAC is better for someone that likes to just work out!

Not the best. I’ve been trying to give it a chance, since my gym closed unexpectedly. I tried to contact them directly today and the website would not allow. Found old lettuce in one of the cardio machines today. Also it’s so damp in there the cardio machines downstairs are rusting. Bathrooms are always gross.

It does have most of the equipment I like, but man they need to clean this place up.

As with any new gym, you can expect a certain level of awkwardness when getting started. FAC has a broad demographic with people of all ages at various stages of their fitness journeys. The equipment is plentiful and well maintained, though a little dated. The strength area has enough options of free weights and machines that I never had to wait even during the busy time (4-6pm). The facility itself is very clean and the staff was very welcoming.

Visiting from St. Petersburg Florida and couldn’t do the hotel gym once again so I googled gym near me. Stopped in for a lift. Wish it was leg day because..They Sadly don’t make gym2 like this anymore as most a cookie cut and lack variety.
The owner Aaron as I was told, owns this Hidden GEM in Franklin. Truly has a passion for this true athletic Club, as all the equipment was abundant and of high high quality past the wear and tear. That any pure fitness fan would take over super shiny Cybex rubber band loaded equipment and Ariana Grande playing in the background.
I only wish more people could see this is where results are made.

This gym is awesome! Most who go there are dedicated to working out and not just sitting around on machines making them unavailable. The negative views I've read seem ridiculous to me and I find somewhat funny. Great variety of machines, cardio, and free weights. If you want to go to a true gym this is it! If you're worried about getting your hands dirty, breaking a fingernail or afraid of a little sweat you should go to Planet Fitness, PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Terrible just terrible DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. 1. A good bit of all the cardio machines are broke down. Free weights were rusted and coverd in dry sweat the other wire weights were tore up and the pins wouldn’t fit correctly, carpet through out the building is disgusting. People do not clean the equipment after they use them. Bathrooms stink horribly. Mangment was very terrible. Just do yourself a favor and join another gym.

Great gym, it does have a permanent smell of sweat and BO . But that's how you know it's a great gym. Also, if you want to go, go at 7 am.
But, DO NOT GO AFTER 5. It's a meat market full of pimples, unnecessary grunting and ego. Also, all the instagram chicks who basically wear thongs while squating 10 lb plates at the squat rack. I'm not against it but I hate the thrombosis-like on lookers who have made the floor around the squat rack slippery from the dripping saliva from starring at the gym chicks. They crowd around them creating traffic around the free weights. Also make sure you clean off anything before you use it, you will absorb second hand dynabol sweat from anything you touch.

One time I ran into a bald guy who was vigorously washing his balls while curtains half opened. I ignored this and continued to my shower area. Etc etc, 8 minutes later washed and half dressed, the skinny bald perv is still washing his balls but this time with a smile.

Didn't think much of it, I don't have an over inflated sense of self but I knew he wouldn't try anything cuz, I am bigger and younger. But then again he probably would of wanted that.

Very large facility that encompasses every aspect of physical training. The cost and social environment can be intimidating if you're looking for somewhere less luxurious and a more diverse population. If you're not in fantastic shape, you will potentially feel out of place because the vast majority of customers appear to be in great physical shape.

I got a letter from this Fox collection center. That was from FAC. When I called them and told them about it. That, I never signed up for a membership with them NOR stepped foot in there facility. So, How could I owe them 521.$$ manager there Mary, who I spoke to was not helpful and was VERY rude. Now I am stuck fighting this war with the collection people which is bring my credit score down and is denying my request of dispute. Is FAC. Online memberships deals scamming people or ?? But it seems they don't like fixing there mistakes. I NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING so how can this contract be a contract??

Will be leaving FAC.....they seem to cater to the water jug weight lifting crowd....screw the cardio people. Been a member for over 5 years. It is now the second time the equipment I use on a daily basis has been moved or sold off. Cardio Theater is now being converted to weight lifting. Management will not reply to emails...hours suck on weekends and holidays.....a 24/7 365 gym is located 2 blocks away.................*Update....year latter....I'm still there.....weight lifting club was a failure....so room built squeezing out cardio theater is now empty.....no heat in cardio theater...about 50 degrees....another new 24 hour gym is about to open 2 miles away....Tonight's Facebook posting suggests gym may not be open on time tomorrow due to January weather conditions....Good thing gym isn't in Michigan...we used to call these conditions 'spring'. That said....They were open new years day at 8am....Yay!

I’ve been training here for 6 years. I judge all gyms variety to here. This rating is strictly based on equipment there. Not classes,amenities,or cleanliness. There is a wide array of free weights,Smith machines,hammer strength,cables,and machines. It’s not a five Star because how long it takes them to repair broken equipment.!ibget the best value here. It is a gym. Don't delude yourself into thinking it is more. If you want to work out and you are serious about it, then this is your place. FAC feels a little tired but there seems to be a dedicated cadre of individuals that call it home and use it to its fullest potential.

I am sure there are staff there that you can ask to assist you with understanding machines or exercise equipment but it always seems that staffing is sparse. Again, this is why the dedicated go here because they don't need hand-holding.

The main thing I would improve on is the theater room. If you are going to use it, please bring the movies to within the last 5 years and make it more enjoyable.

Lots of machines which is good because half is broken, wore out, and old. The weights go up by 15 lbs increments and they have two 5 lbs additions in the entire room. So I half to hunt them down and carry them around when I find them. Plenty of 15 lb additions for the very few 20 lb increment machines which you still need a 5 and 10?? The reason the machines are gross and worn out is because no one cleans them. The reason no one cleans them is because there are only two stations of little paper towels and a spray for a huge room. These guys are too lazy to rerack a single weight and you thing they are going to actually walk across the room to clean something?? Huge and strong, yes but still too lazy to clean. It's a guy thing. Which is 99% of the clients. Don't compare this to other gyms who have spray bottles on every machine and the option for guest the grab a personal towel to keep themselves clean. This guys could be great with just a few small things. Fix your equipment. Give easier options to clean. Put personnel on the floor to rerack and clean all day. Buy the additional weights your machines needs. And according to reviews below don't make anyone mad for a buck whether their coming or going. The internet will take that buck back two fold.
I'm here with a membership through my company or I wouldn't be here, but it's close and I can get my stuff done eventually.

Best gym in Middle Tennessee, for sure. Very affordable, with something for everyone. Whether you're a die hard bodybuilder or power lifter, a cross fitter, or just an average joe trying to get in shape, this gym has what you need. It's also very spacious, so even when it's very busy you still don't feel cramped together. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, and the child care service is phenomenal. We've been very very pleased.

Great atmosphere and moral! Constantly renovating and helping others achieve their fitness goals. Great smoothie bar with local organically prepped meals available Mondays and Wednesdays. Just to let everyone know, ( the bad reviews) , the reason we have you come in to cancel is so some one doesn't walk in off the street and cancel your membership. Whether it be your ex girlfriend or boyfriend or your mom. Also we can't tune our a.c. to any one persons wants. We have to have our overall customers in mind. We also clean our equipment multiple times a day and at the end of the day. We also encourage our members to clean the equipment they use before and after each use. But more people come in every day and there isn't a gym out there that can keep spotless. But I can garauntee at the least my best. our customers to clean the equipment they were

I've been out of the army for about 2 years now and have been a member at FAC for about 6 months. Its been hands down the best gym I've found sense. If you want to work out and get fit its a great place to do so. They have everything you could possibly need! If your looking for a gym that is so clean you can eat off of them than go to planet fitness. This gym is for people that are serious about getting fit and want to go to a REAL GYM!!! I signed up for a month-to-month membership and they are wanting to charge me a cancellation fee even though I never signed anything agreeing to it. They are refusing to remove my credit card information and forcing me to go through the credit card to force their hand.

Even before this they play games in which if you want to talk about cancelling you membership they make you come in. Even thought the same person that you talk on the phone is the person who cancels it. They do this just be as painful as possible.

Called to cancel our membership bc we're moving, and they said I had to come in and sign paperwork. No big deal. I go in, sign the documents, at which point they tell me they have to have 30 day notice to cancel (I guess they need 30 days so they can re-assign my personal gym equipment to another member???). So I give them the notice, and bc of that, pay an extra months membership, and then I just got a letter in the mail 6 months later saying my membership is "in serious default" and that they're turning it over to a collection agency. Good luck getting any more money out of me!

One of the biggest meat-head gyms I've been to in a long time. Thought I had stepped back in time to the eighties with the juicer's, mullets, wannabe's and bimbos in neon gear. Lots of guys with pumped upper bodies wearing sweat pants because they don't work their legs (Hello eighties!). It's a huge facility that looks like it was once a spa but got converted to a gym. You can tell it was once impressive due to all the equipment; tons of cardio, machines and free weights. The problem is it's run down, especially in the weight rooms. Many of the machines barely funtional and in need of repair. The rubber is wearing off the 45 lb plates which I've never seen happen before. Even the water fountain barely pumps out water. If you don't mind posers, the smell of sweat, a little dirt and grime and can get a cheap membership then this is your place. Otherwise I suggest you go somewhere else.
