This gym is fantastic! They have so much equipment and space. The staff keeps the gym very clean. Also, the staff are very welcoming and answer any questions you may have. They also sell merch and have a smoothie/shake bar.

When I walk in, they know my name and ask about my day or even check me in without having to scan. I always appreciate people trying to get to know more about me. I am more than just a hot body and pretty face. Im fun, duh. Shout outs to the team that I consider friends. Colin, Gavin, and Christian are walking Abercrombie & Fitch models back when it was hot. I like there are people at Carbon that have the same pretty privilege as me. It’s a lot of work being incredibly good looking alone. Join Carbon and you too can sorta work on being as hot.

UPDATE: I am updating my review to 5 stars because Carbon has done everything to correct the issues that have risen. They are very receptive to feedback and suggestions. As a company they care about the satisfaction of the members. 11/10 recommend this gym. The community is also a great vibe!
Would be a 5 star review, but as an Edge member ($230 a month) this is why I’m giving it 3 stars & honestly I’m inclined to give it 2….
1) the number 1 thing that has pissed me off and influenced my review is that they keep taking edge class times away…. They started off with 4:15pm, 5:30pm and 6:45 evening classes. A couple months ago they removed 6:45pm and now they are taking 5:30pm wich doesn’t account for the people that have an 8am-5pm job. I specifically signed up for the edge membership because of the edge classes and now the time I was able to attend (5:30pm) isn’t going to be offered anymore.
2) the front desk is not friendly at all and make you feel really awkward if you have a question or need to discuss something with someone — this has been my experience about 65% of the time. It also feels like they talk about you amongst each other if you go complain about something.
3) the cold plunge/infrared saunas always smell or the cold plunge isn’t working for x or y reason.
4) they advertised Normatec compression boots when I signed up and they don’t offer them anymore.
The only pro, in my opinion is that ALL the Edge class trainers are fantastic! Very knowledgeable, willing to work with you if you need modifications, and most importantly, VERY kind. They are very encouraging and have helped me get out of my comfort zone when it comes to strength training. I would love to continue working with them, as long as another evening class time aside from 4:15pm is offered.

I paid $75 for a week pass expecting at that price I would get the full membership with the one thing I searched for and that was the cold plunge but after paying for the week pass I was told that's apart of the elite membership and not the day pass ! I tried to reach out via email and nothing was offered to compensate me for false advertising as $75 for a week pass should include everything! That's $300 a month at that rate !

Jack Szymanski is legendary. The man provides the best care and is incredibly attentive at handling any challenge. Jack hands down provides the best customer experience at all intersections, from the front-desk, over the phone, smoothie bar, and training floor. The Carbon Franklin location has a fantastic atmosphere, incredible selection of equipment, and overall it is an amazing experience. I drive out 30 min one-way from Belle Meade to train at this specific location and always look forward to coming here knowing there are closer gyms to me, I would never trade it.

Best gym not just in town, but ever, period. First, the price point is FAIR — in a place where you’ve got LifeTime robbing singles for $200+ a month, thank God for a gym that is ~$90/month. A $20/month planet fitness or neighborhood beater gym are just not worth it — MUST invest in your health. The aesthetic black / dark vibe KILLS the DISGUSTING planet fitness purple 🤢🤣 (feel bad saying this too bc I loved the workers at PF, but that branding — can’t do it!)
The community here is great and especially love the people who work at Carbon. As a remote worker, these people provide a safe social space and act as a true “family” which I know was the intention of the gym at the start. But the members here are great, too — have made tons of friends and love the hustlers that show up to this place.

All I can say is that if you want a trainer his name is SILAS. He is absolutely hands down knowledgeable about every aspect of the fitness/bodybuilding/overall quality of health trainer. If anyone on the planet can show you and motivate you to achieve your inner greatness its this guy.i talked to him through text in the beginning and he loves fitness and the industry like I do. hes THE ULTIMATE BRO. Dont shortchange yourself and ask for silas. This guy has your best interest at heart and yeah starting next week when I get my ass back to nashville this guy is the guy. Listen to his words and just rock with him.because when I get back I'm going to rock with nobody else.this guy I know will make me a champ.this guy inspired me in less then 4 text messages. Talk about caring about actual people .I'm 40 and this guy inspired me soooo much today it just made me thirsty for everything and then some.

Carbon nations is a great place to work out. It is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a lot of equipment, so you can hit every muscle group that you want to hit from every angle. They play a good Range of tunes to keep you motivated. I would recommend this gym to anyone serious about their fitness goals whether it's being an influencer, a bodybuilder, a athlete or just someone that's trying to have a better Fitness lifestyle. If any of these sound like you; then this gym is for you.

I am a local athlete and was looking to join this gym for the AC and facilities during warmer months. Decided not to join due to the almost $200 arbitrary joining fees (front desk people could not explain this cost when asked) and the $300 cancellation fee without providing set contract length. This gym is NOT that nice to be charging a high membership fee in addition to these fixed costs. Facilities are not kept neat or state of the art. To be a luxury gym with luxury costs you need to be a lot better than this or offer flexible terms for members. Building a bad reputation as a business. I may go for drop ins but certainly can’t justify the joining and cancellation fees. It is also a sketchy business practice to only accept bank accounts as forms of payment - this leads to mystery charges that are not easily disputed with banks. Sketchy and not impressive gym is my review.

If gyms had a personality, Carbon Performance would be your super-fit bestie who always greets you with a smile, shares their snacks, and has the best taste in playlists. 🏋️♀️✨
From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a team that’s so friendly, it almost feels like you're joining a fitness family instead of just hitting the gym. Seriously, they remember your name, cheer you on, and somehow make you feel like a champion even when you're sweating like a smoothie in the sun. 🍓💦
The environment? Total vibes. Clean, open, and energized without being intimidating. It's the kind of place where you want to show up—even on leg day. 💪😅
And the equipment? Sparkly-clean and totally up-to-date. Everything works like a charm, and you never feel like you're stuck waiting forever for a machine. Plus, there’s just something motivating about using gear that feels high-tech and cared for. It's like your dumbbells are rooting for you. 🏋️♂️💖
All in all, Carbon isn’t just a gym—it’s a glow-up headquarters. 10/10 would recommend

One of the most integral parts of getting and being healthy is having a great facility to go to and a trainer who is dedicated, knowledgeable, caring, and straightforward. Logan Harsson is 100% all of that and more! Not only does he have his own success story of becoming fit, but he also served in the military, and has the experience and fortitude to get you to your goals. He is an incredible coach and trainer and I highly recommend him for anyone who wants to meet short and long term goals! Go see him at Carbon and know that you are getting a top notch facility as well as the most professional coach!

There is a few people in this world I would trust my health with and Logan Harsson is at the top of that list. If you want a comprehensive trainer who is compassionate, knowledgeable, but also very blunt then this is the dude. Not to mention he served in the military which already gives him a leg up above others when it comes to discipline and some advanced knowledge. Go here and talk to Logan you won’t regret it.

Edit:
Not only do the cold plunges continue to be out of service; but now the restrooms on the 24/7 side are out of order. Over the past 3 weeks there has been maybe 5 days where they have been available for use. There has only been towels stocked prior to the public side opening 2 of the last 16 days so you can’t shower either. What is the point of a gym always open you are paying 300/mo for if you can not use the bathroom or take a shower after your workout.
OG:
Private side is nice, relatively quiet although limited in equipment. The public side is always excessively busy but has every machine you could want and more. My issue lies more with the staff who just seem troubled when you try to discuss anything with them or ask for help. They would rather talk to each other than help a member. The price also is made for the sauna/cold plunge and yet the cold plunges have been broken since I started my membership, the saunas aren’t always on so by the time your 45 minute session is done they’ve only heated to 155-ish degrees and the drains in the rooms are clogged when you try to shower after. For the price I’d expect all the features to work and be ready to use. Sadly the initial signing is for a year so will have to put up with it for some time.

Carbon Performance in The Nations is the best gym in Nashville. The equipment is top-notch—think Arsenal Strength and Prime that’s perfect for any lift or session. Sleek locker rooms with great lighting and couldn’t ask for a better staff.

Would be 5 stars if this place was priced like a regular gym. But it's priced like a premium gym and it is not a premium experience.
Pros
-Excellent parking, never hard to find a spot
-Gym equipment is top tier
-Overall design and aesthetics are cool
Cons
-Always slammed at all but the most off-hours of the day. For this level of pricing maybe limit membership?
-Locker rooms are tiny, narrow, cramped
-My wife says the women's sauna never gets hot
-Bathrooms always wet
-Weights plates never put back with any sort of organization. Even with polite members the staff should be doing this...again, premium pricing
-Staff do not care. I wouldn't say unfriendly but customer service and friendly attitude are not a priority here. Mostly concerned with personal conversations with other staff.
-Guest passes are $25 per day...and zero included for members to bring friends/family
-Sizable markup on all energy drinks
-Influencers filming with tripods everywhere.
-TVs in cardio room play garbage trivia games on repeat or ads for the gyms retail products
OVERALL - A good gym that feels like a ripoff due to the pricing.

The worst customer service I have ever witnessed. I was there for a week pass with a classmate working out. I was accused of training her. After being confronted rudely, I told them that we were just working hard and spotting each other. JUSTIN (6foot + steroided out) trainer did not like that answer. He processed to tell me we could not train the way we were training. I told him that I used to be a couch, so I understand they make the money to train, and others can not use their facilities to train people. Telling him that I paid for my friends' day passed did not help as JUSTIN's little ego did not comprehend. He was highly aggressive in his speech and body language. As an ex infantry man with PTSD, I had to simply let it go before I said the wrong thing to trigger his EGO further. I was refunded and banned from using both gyms (Nations + Franklin) all because it looked like I was training a friend as we worked out!
I have never seen such feminine men in my life. The gym is like a model comp. The guys on steroids act like they are not as if anyone cares. The women on juice talk about it more openly. Fake Natty heaven. Also, people there are not the nicest, until they think you are someone or find out you been where they want to go! NOT GYM CULTURE AT ALL. Take your money and go to Carbon Culture (Franklin), QNTM(DT Nash), or the YMCA.
(READ THIS) I was there with a friend from nursing school. I paid for myself and for her. What "trainer" pays for his client to come to a new gym?... NONE! Yet, they still believe that I was training her because I was fixing her form on incline Dumbbell Chest Press. An exercise that most men DO NOT do correctly and cause of a lot of injuries. To comment on this post and try to justify that I was training is foolish and egotistical. This is that weird gym culture/ego people hate.

Management is extremely unresponsive and unhelpful. They switched to a new payment system in March and mistakenly overcharged members for past due payments that were inaccurate. Management did not send out any communications to members!!!!! and I had to identify the issue myself. I was told to reach out to the General Manager to correct the situation, and she did not respond to any of my 3 emails or 3 phone calls over the course of a week. They were finally able to correct the situation and refund payment, but the lack of communication was unacceptable.

It took over a month and half to get my membership cancelled because I'm moving. The GM Shandy took days to respond but when she did she said it was finally cancelled. Imagine my surprise when I get charged again the day after she confirmed we were done. Typical that this would be one of those gyms that make it impossible to cancel and then waste your time trying to get your money back after they treat your bank account like their own piggy bank.
Additionally, this place is teeming with film crews, tripods and lighting set ups, and influencer productions. There are holes in the walls where their members threw weights into it. This seems more like a social club for selfies than any other gym I've been to, but maybe that's the real business model.

A pretty good gym with nice equipment, but it’s very overpriced as it’s almost always crowded and lots of filming. I don’t mind but if you don’t like the chance of being filmed while working out beware. My main complaint is the music is played so loudly that even with noise cancelling headphones it’s super loud.

My husband, Evan Gold, made the egregious mistake of buying a one-week pass here. He never signed up for a membership. Imagine our surprise when we got billed for $400 for a membership a few weeks later, nonetheless. After a few calls, the amount was refunded and we were assured it wouldn’t happen again. 3/1 another $200 was taken out of our bank account. Since then we have called and e-mailed more than 10x, and of those contacts that the GM Shandy has deigned to respond to, we were told it would be resolved right away and that she’d follow up. Here we are almost 2 months later, still no follow up or refund. If you’re wondering why a gym asks for your checking account information - clearly it’s so that you can’t refute their fraudulent billing practices. Oh, and by the way - the gym itself isn’t all that either - do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Personally find this gym to be a godsend. Before they came along there was nothing like it in the area. It's competes with similar gyms I've visited in other cities. I've been coming here since they opened and they've been a big part of me losing around 80 lbs and getting back in shape. I hate to hear the negative reviews regarding staff as it's not been my experience at all. Everyone feels kind and welcoming and despite being crowded I can always do whatever workout I have planned. I couldn't ask for anything better. Best gym I've ever been apart of.

I absolutely love this gym! The equipment is modern, clean and I hardly have to wait around to use a certain piece. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate how well maintained the facility is, one of the cleanest gyms I've been to!

The only thing elevated about this gym, is the fact that it's on the second floor. The staff has bigger egos than the fake-natty members and customer service is TERRIBLE. You would think for $100-$250 a month, you would be treated better by staff. They all act bothered if you ask them a question or ask them to do what they get paid for. Excuse me? Also, when there are classes going on, there is very limited space to stretch pre and post workout. This gym is planet fitness with black equipment and cool lighting. There are better options. This gym needs to be humbled. Don't believe the hype Nashville.

Did a day pass but place was awesome. Packed, but there was tons of equipment. Aesthetic was great as well. Parking kind of sucked and there wasn’t much signage for where the gym actually was but it wasn’t that big of an issue. Good experience

Best gym in nashville. Have had nothing but great interactions with staff and the private sauna and cold plunge are well worth the extra money. Love the theraguns and stretching machines too.
And if the main gym is crowded you can do most of the things on the private side and get a quicker workout if needed.

Was really enjoying the gym. Signed up last year when they had a lot of classes. Was told would add more as they added new members. Instead they just keep pulling everything back. Less class. Bad times. Bait and switch especially once they have you locked in for a year.

Trying to get a text back to schedule a visit is like pulling teeth. I had to physically show up and ask for a tour after trying to get in touch, but I have friends here that love it so I kept that in mind. I was pretty much sold and ready to sign up by the end of my tour, I thought it was great, and was invited back the next morning to try the gym out. I showed up with my friend who is a member and I was charged $25 for a day pass. I mentioned that I toured the day before and was invited back (with no mention of a day pass charge) and they still charged $25 to really sell me. It was eventually resolved and refunded but honestly my first impression with front staff was rough. I feel like I was doing most of the leg work to get communication, answers, and general information. For a location like this I would expect someone to at least follow up aside from an automated message. Wanted to love it, touring other gyms hoping it goes smoother.
Edit: I am now getting follow-up texts and emails to which my responses are clearly not being read. I’ve given them my experience and have said twice I’m no longer interested and the next day I get a communication asking if I’m still interested. Good luck trying to schedule a visit or follow up on an issue if they can’t be bothered to read your responses. For a place that charges a hefty registration fee on top of a monthly membership and expects a year long contract, I’d expect them to actually read texts and emails and respond accordingly.
Edit #2: another text ignoring my responses.. genuine question can we be so astronomically for real right now? What are we doing here?

The gym is a decent size but nothing too special. While the equipment is new, some machines need troubleshooting, which is expected for a new gym. However, the class schedule constantly changes, making it hard to plan, and they’ve opened classes to ClassPass despite members paying a monthly fee. Customer service is slow to respond, and I had to follow up on an incorrect charge. Plus, the entrance isn’t covered, and poor drainage makes it a slippery hazard when it rains. I canceled my membership because the inconsistency wasn’t worth it.

A major dissapointment to say the least…they advertise their facilities as top notch and to be a haven for bodybuilders/elite lifters alike, when in reality this gym is nothing more than an elevated planet fitness with nice lighting. Machines stay out of order for months, and while it boasts 100+ pieces of equipment, having a stress free workout is difficult here as it is usually swarming with wanna be gymfluencers with tripods most of the time. Even the small 24/7 gym lacks any kind of privacy and is especially inconvenient to utilize outside of operating hours due to it usually being occupied by tiktokkers filming content right in front of you, so don’t be surprised if you end on someone’s TikTok or YouTube channel. If you are looking for a gym to make content or a place to purely socialize and get a pump. One that does not prioritize the average gym user, then this gym may be the right fit for you; however, to those that wish to workout in peace and posses some level of privacy, aka not being judged and/or interrupted mid-set so that the broccoli head can ask you how many sets you have left, this gym misses the mark.

its way to expensive there is only 2 plans expensive and outrageous. they have amenities that don't seem like many people use them and if all you want is to workout after hours like me since I work nights, you still have to pay 220 even if you don't use anything else but the gym they make you pay for extras that you don't want. I live and work in the area and i don't get off work till 0200 i've tried to see if there were any way to make it cheaper to work out after work. all they say is if you want one part of a plan you have to buy it all it's pretty ridiculous. i'm probably going to cancel and just go to anytime fitness in wedgewood its only 60 a month and it has everything you'd want in a gym and it's 24 hours and you won't have to deal with the terrible customer service kids that carbon performance hires.

From the moment you walk in, Carbon Performance in the Nations stands out. The facility is immaculately clean, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and staffed by a welcoming team..
Like many, I was skeptical about personal training. After all, I'd spent years consuming fitness content through books and podcasts, convinced I knew everything there was to know. But despite all that knowledge, my goals remained frustratingly out of reach. When I finally hit rock bottom, I made the decision to invest in myself – and that's when everything changed.
Enter Katie, my trainer at Carbon. After just one session, I knew I'd made the right choice. She completely transformed my perspective on strength training. As someone who always avoided weights, believing I was 'strong enough' and just needed to lose weight, I never imagined I'd actually look forward to lifting – let alone find myself eager to increase the weights each session.
What sets Carbon apart is their comprehensive approach. Katie's nutrition guidance has been eye-opening (turns out a serving of rice isn't the entire box – who knew it's just one cup?). She's provided me with practical, actionable knowledge that's finally helping me shed those stubborn pounds.
The biggest lesson? Sometimes you need an expert to fix what you can't solve alone. Under Katie's guidance, I'm not just meeting my goals – I'm exceeding them. While I still have a lot of work ahead, seeing consistent progress each week has me walking on air.
Thank you, Katie, for showing me what's possible when expertise meets dedication and consistency.

Would be 5 stars but…
1) play their crappy music so loud is still drowns out my noise canceling headphones. I have no interest in hearing “Fly Like a G6” at max volume. And when I asked politely for them to turn it down, the turned it up louder.
2) pay $220 a month to use the ice baths which are routinely clogged with hair and other gross stuff.
Great facilities and high quality equipment. But they should take my need to buy $300+ over-ear headphones (to block out their music) out of my membership fees.

Solid gym with a good amount of equipment. Small locker room. At the price point of gym memberships at this gym, expectations should be set higher but unfortunately it doesn’t deliver on high expectations. If you’re going for just a workout, you’ll be fine, but don’t expect high-end amenities. The lights in the ceiling are cool though.

Update: still no hot water, going on 22 days i believe. Pics of how dirty the showers are are now attached.

Just joined this gym after moving across the country and I’ve been really enjoying it so far. The gym equipment is great and I really enjoy the protein shake bar and meal preps. I do agree with some of the reviewers that the front desk staff does seem to make you feel awkward or out of place when asking a question, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me. My one real issue with this gym is the timing of the classes. I really enjoy their edge classes and the instructors are amazing, but the times they offer the classes are super inconvenient for me. They either have super early morning, or when I’m already at work. I work until midnight/1am most days and it’s hard for me to get up at 6am. Can you guys add a 9 or 10 am class? Your times are super inconvenient for people who work at night. I’ve heard this complaint from other members too. If that time slot was offered I would change my review to 5 stars.

I came here after getting a text saying I could have a free day pass, I was able to get mine after showing the staff but my friend had to pay $25 for their own. The staff was less than friendly, very unwelcoming. They didn't give us a tour or talk about membership prices. It felt very awkward and uncomfortable from the start. It didn’t seem like they wanted to be there or want to make sure we enjoyed our time and knew where everything was. Customer service makes a huge difference and if that is poor the second I walk in I don’t want to return. A warm welcome is absolutely necessary and a tour especially if we are paying money to workout at least show us around, that's the bare minimum. The gym was overly crowded by 4pm and not enough leg machines. I had a feeling they didn't want any more people to join the gym and that’s why we didn't get a tour or a warm welcome. Or they didn't feel like doing their job and making the business money. I asked about the case study they are doing and he didn't give me much information or encouraged me to sign up. I was seriously looking for a new gym to join and now I will keep looking else where due to the employees lack of care at the front desk.

Really wanted to like this gym! The facility itself is really nice and the outside addition is a great plus but customer service was poor. Online advertising says you get a free day pass but I was charged 25. I didn’t mind this but another person came up to the desk while I was there and said he had a free day pass and was let in. Just confused me. Then I was never offered a tour of the facility. Definitely capable of giving myself a tour but for a place charging 25 for day pass I figured I’d at least get pointed in the right directions 😆

Moving all the way from Wisconsin and was excited to find a new gym to try out in this area. On the website it clearly offers a free day trial but when you get there they don’t honor it and make you pay $25 for the day pass. The guy dressed as wolverine in the front desk didn’t even offer us a tour and barely gave any information on pricing, membership etc.. He even seemed unenthusiastic about even helping us get a day pass that we were willing to pay.
Gym ambiance and equipment was 5 stars, staff experience 1 star

More than a gym! Carbon Nations has exceeded my expectations in every category. Not only is it an incredible layout with quality equipment, but it also feels like a community. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. They are always looking for new ways to improve and using members feedback to do so. One of my favorite parts of Carbon Nations is the food. After your workout, you can get the most delicious protein smoothies, snacks and even full meals that are so convenient in a pinch. Love everything about Carbons new location! You can't go wrong.

Never been to a gym that wouldn’t let me have a free “day” trial. The girl at the front desk was rude about it too. Was hoping to switch from the Green Hills YMCA
I already pay a significant amount each month for my wife and I, so it doesn’t make sense to pay overpay for a day pass.
