This gym is extremely overpriced for what it offers. The pool and the bathrooms have a very strong unpleasant smell, and the entire wet area (jacuzzis, sauna, etc.) is poorly maintained. The equipment is basic, and the trainers don’t seem very professional or engaged.
The hours are not convenient at all — they close very early, and on weekends they barely operate. Canceling the membership is almost impossible; they do not make the process easy, and they end up charging you for much longer than you actually use. The pool also has way too much chlorine, making it uncomfortable to use.
Overall, it’s not worth the cost.

We have had such an amazing experience going to the CAC. The staff is friendly, professional, and they work very hard to keep the facility clean. Our children love their childcare/workout classes so much and it's reassuring to know they're safe and having fun. My son loves his workout class teacher Ms. Tasha! She is a wonderful person and creates such a fun environment for children. Our family highly recommends the CAC to everyone!

Decent gym, some equipment could use an upgrade. Most members are friendly, though you get some ghetto stares. Staff experience is mixed, some friendly and some with some attitude. Overall the good outweighs the bad, but there’s room for improvement.

I have left a negative review a couple hours ago, but I wanted to change it after a recent events. Last couple weeks I’ve been coming back. Things have been phenomenal. I complained about an employee here but she has been extremely professional and very nice lately! That’s all I ask is to be treated like an adult and a human being!

If I could give zero stars, I would. The staff here is extremely rude, unprofessional, and in my experience, racist. The way they treat members is unacceptable and lacks even the most basic level of respect or customer care.
I inquired about canceling my membership three separate times, and not once did anyone mention that a 30-day written notice was required — until the very day I went in to cancel. At that point, they conveniently told me I’d be charged for another month. Even though it’s supposed to be a month-to-month membership, they still enforce this 30-day rule.
To make matters worse, cancellations can only be done in person, Monday through Friday, between 9 AM and 5 PM — so you’ll have to take time off work just to stop them from charging you.
Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that values honesty, transparency, and respect for their customers.

I’ve had such an amazing experience at the Clarksville Athletic club. The environment is super motivating, clean, and welcoming. It’s truly perfect for anyone at any fitness level.
I especially want to give a huge shoutout to Braiand. He was so helpful when I first signed up. Showing me around the gym, helping me understand the equipment and answering all my questions about memberships and workouts. He made learning everything so easy and made me feel confident walking in each day.
If you’re thinking about joining, I 100% recommend this place. I also recommend talking to Braiand, he will take great care of you and whatever you need!

I have been a member of the Clarksville Athletic Club since I relocated to Clarksville 4 years ago. I live the classes; Pilates, Yoga Stretch, Aqua Aerobics, Zumba and Interval Strength. I have great relations w/the instructors and I’ve met & have nurturing friendships. The club is conveniently located to my home. My major complaint is the Lack Of Cleanliness of the club and the lack of details in maintaining it. The dues are NOT Cheap, yet the following concerns have been an issue for over 3 years:
-The hot tub in the ladies locker room area has been BROKEN for at least 3/4 years that I’ve been a member. Therefore, ladies are expected to sit in a tub of hot water w/No working jets!!! How Despicable!!!
-There’s dust/dirt over 2 inches tall on the speakers in the exercise room where we do Pilates/Zumba.
-The showers and bathrooms are FILTHY!!! The cover was off of the lights in the shower and you can see dust/dirt stacked on the lights.
I am recovering from lung surgery and as much as I would like to renew my membership and return to the club, I’m afraid to do so until a DEEP CLEANING has been completed!!! I have pictures of my complaints, I plan to share them & these complaints w/administration!

We love the kids in motion classes for our 3.5 and 5 year old! They have so much fun and when they get home they love showing us what games they played! Last week they had my husband and I pretend to be the kids while they pretended to be the teacher to play Balloon Banaza! I can’t say enough good things about Clarksville Athletic Club! My favorite thing is the child care options. I’ve only had experience with the nursery and the kids in motion class and they are both outstanding. Both Ms. Bonnie and Ms. Tasha are so patient with the kids and go out of their way to make all the kids feel so welcome. The price point for what all you get is an amazing deal!

I've been a member of several gyms and would advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs.
They make cancelling membership a total pain (it seems to be their business plan). My prior gyms have all canceled with 0 headache.
They have the worst gym guest policy I can remember.
Indoor hottubs are in the locker rooms, so it splits up my family.
After using the facilities I developed a staph infection and never returned.
The gym equipment is in terrible condition.
The onboarding felt like being lectured for something I haven't done.
It is my least favorable gym experience in over 25 years of lifting and training at gyms.

Gym is great but I’ve had a bad experience with the African American manager there twice. (I let the first time slide)
I came in as a guest the first round, and I forgot my ID, which is needed for a guest pass. I simply apologized for not bringing it etc and his attitude was terrible. Talking to me like I’m his kid, then proceeding to speak to the next white guest differently. Idk if he treated me differently off of my dreads, appearance or he was having a bad day. Okay, oh well, I meet rude and unhappy people daily. I let it go, he might’ve just been a black man, in a high position, trying to protect his place of work from young, ignorant black men I thought. Understandable.
2 days ago, I come back, and the receptionist there were friendly/kind but I can tell they walk on eggshells and very timid. While waiting for my friends to arrive, we start filling out guest passes and as he walks by, he has this angry face and says “make sure they wait in the lobby” which was a few ft. Away. Mind you he comes back again to direct all of us himself. This time, angrier. You could tell he was trying to move us from the lobby as if we were too loud or disruptive. We were just standing there, respectful, low tone.
I understand everything going on in today’s world and how you have to be protective etc. but you should NOT judge before analyzing your guests, I’m probably completely opposite of what he was thinking.
All in all, he needs an attitude check and needs to treat all guests the same no matter appearance or what he feels like that day. I now will never come back to this gym again to be profiled, especially by a fellow elderly brother I’m supposed to look up too.

My son and I have been coming here since he was a tiny baby — almost 4 years now. Today was his first day in the youth activity room with Miss Tasha, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was a little nervous about him transitioning from the nursery to the big kid room, but Miss Tasha immediately put me at ease. She balances everything so well — giving close attention to each child, showing patience, and keeping them engaged with fun, structured activities. She also took the time to walk me through the schedule and explain her system, which really reassured me. I feel confident knowing Michael is in such great hands and excited that he’ll continue learning and growing here.

We joined well over a year ago, loved the gym then my company transferred me to Colorado. My wife went in and canceled our membership in May. We called asked why and they said they didn’t have the letter so I had my son drop another letter off to him now they’re saying it has to be registered… this is a direct violation of the Federal Trade Commission's "Click to Cancel" rule… I’m still getting charged and fighting with my bank go anywhere else

Very dated 🏋️♀️ with old subpar equipment never working order missing straps like R bike . Hot tub constantly broken Not handicap or disabled accessible. Either in the ladies 🚺 bathroom showers no grab bars. Also trying 2 go up stairs . No elevator to go up to walking track. Limited hours and the whole gym 🏋️♂️needs a makeover from top 2 bottom . I guess it's great if u r a young person but for over 50 or with disabilities it's not very accessible . Staff can be nice or passive aggressive , depending on who's on shift . It seems they dont want to work towards retention of current members. It's a very depressing vibe energy 😪.

The air conditioning almost never works or is at least not turned on. Its was 79 degrees near the track. The machines have to be from the 90s. The numbers on the plates are missing on most of the machines, so you have no idea how much you're lifting. The outdoor pool was dirty and had popcorn and wrappers floating in it. They're always out of paper towels in the sanitation stations. The spray bottles are missing pieces. The bathrooms are gross and 1,000 degrees. The seats on the machines have holes in them. There are cracks on many of the machines. The forks to select your weights are decrepit. The machines are so old that you can only adjust a few of the seats in the entire gym. The workers are constantly vacuuming but can't be bothered to refill the paper towels. The workers have had very loud and distracting personal conversations in the middle of people trying to exercise. They recently spent money on getting new couches downstairs while their machines are hanging on by a thread. Cloth couches in a gym with sweaty people, might I add. Their racquetball courts are open to a workout section upstairs, so when someone is playing, it is ridiculously loud. You can only cancel during the week "because the office is closed on the weekends," but you sure can sign up on the weekends. I don't know where our money is going because it's not going to upkeep or updates. Don't go here. It sucks.

This location leaves a lot to be desired. Though the staff hold customer service roles, warmth and pleasantness aren’t exactly part of the package. The equipment is plentiful, but not particularly high quality, and the overall cleanliness is disappointing. The women’s sauna is in unacceptable condition, and the bathrooms are consistently unkept.
I’ve maintained a membership here, but more out of habit than enthusiasm—I’ve even started calling it my “savings account,” since I rarely go. It’s not ideal, but I suppose I’ll ride it out unless things improve.

Let me start off by saying…I was extremely excited when my family and I signed up for this gym. At that time it would have been 5 stars. It was a way for my entire family to be a little more active even on days it wasn’t so nice outside. We filled out the paperwork & did our tour. My biggest thing was that it was family oriented and the staff is extremely nice ( well most of the staff ) and that they have a pool. Sep. 2023 we started our membership. June 5th, 2025 we walked in a canceled our membership due to my 14 year old daughter feeling very uncomfortable after 6 months of trying my hardest to get everyone agreeing to actual go to the gym together. 21 months of our gym membership and we only went maybe 6 times at the most and I don’t even think it was that much. The night I finally convinced everyone to go to the gym, I signed my 13 (at the time) year old up for a self defense class, my 14 year old other daughter worked out with me and my husband took our 5 year old son to his class (that he refused to go in). I get a call halfway through my workout from the assistant in the self defense class asking if I could come get my daughter bc the instructor was being very inappropriate and she no longer wanted to participate in the class. I run downstairs to the class to see what’s going on. The instructor had all the other kids in the class team up to take down my daughter (who is not at all strong or capable of defending herself) and then yelled at her for not fighting them off or wanting to participate any further in the class. He told my daughter that there will be men at the collage waiting for her and she needs to learn how to “fight them off”. He mentioned to her that he is also a substitute teacher for the schools here and asked her where she goes to school. ( she was then terrified he was going to show up at the school). I made a complaint but as far as I know that man is still teaching his weird self defense class. After that night me and my husband decided not to take the kids back but still try to go ourselves. At this point it’s Feb 2025 and we had only been to the gym 5 times since starting in 2023 so it didn’t take long before we just decided to cancel our membership. We walk in June 5th, 2025 to cancel and it was very easy and smooth. So honestly this should have been a better review…I get a call this morning that our June 1st payment didn’t go thru and we still own for the month of June 🤦🏻♀️ $2000.00 for 5 or 6 trips to the gym and these guys can’t compensate for the fact that we literally cancelled our membership because of the creepy guy they have running the self defense class??! I mean obviously we didn’t make time to even go but we didn’t even use the gym in June. Crazy. Hopefully everyone else has a way better experience bc I’m just extremely disappointed and ill never recommend anyone else to experience what my family went thru. 😔

It's been 3 months since I've signed up for the family plan. I wanted very badly to like this gym. I've never had a gym before but I needed one and was promised this gym was family oriented. To start off, we were given the tour and told everything we wanted to hear. They pushed for the longest membership contract which I thankfully denied. Once beginning I noticed my children's classes were late afternoon which isn't too big of a deal. My youngest child is 1 and would have to go to the nursery. The nursery waited 45 minutes to message saying she never stopped crying. She is now traumatized and never stops crying when I drop her off. They have gotten better about messaging after 20 minutes which still feels too long to me so now I have to get a babysitter to work out. My 9 and 6 year old enjoy their classes. However when I cannot get them into a scheduled class, I'm not allowed to go in to work out. Children are not allowed to be left sitting either. You must keep them up and active. I was not told this during the tour or the orientation. I was told before signing up that kids could not use the equipment unless they were 13+ years old. That was it. So now I'm confined to when I can work out depending on if I have a sitter for all my kids. This defeats the purpose of me buying a family membership in my eyes. The pool option is nice, though it doesn't justify the cost. I'd also like to say the mens hot tub is very nice according to my husband. Unfortunately the women's hot tub is often broken, leaving the water cold, and the gym confirmed the jets will never be fixed in the womens room.
In conclusion, if you don't have kids this gym might be nice for you. Or maybe if you only have the one child about 4+ years old. Larger families will probably have a harder time juggling their schedules. And after the first 10 days there is no way to cancel the membership unless you move over 40 miles away.
Hopefully this review helps someone. I am disappointed in how things turned out for us, but maybe I can save someone else the headache of making the same mistake I did.

This place is great for a single person - wouldn’t recommend for families. Childcare is insanely busy so you have to get here at the right times usually 9am when they open it. The 4Y old and up class is where I have the most issues. They’re only open until 12, but the nursery is open until 1. If you come in at 11 there’s no guarantee nursery won’t be full. At that point, the wait could be 5-20/30 minutes and you’re SOL. As for the 4 and up class, they do swimming in the summer time. There is ONE adult out there with 12 plus kids, that’s a huge safety concern. The kids have floaties, however let’s say one flips over and no one notices until it’s too late? Tasha is GREAT, this isn’t about her. This is about the fact there’s one adult watching 12 or so kids at once around water. As a mom, and someone that works in emergency services that doesn’t sit right with me. Please do better CAC. you’re too large to not have enough employees.

Tried to cancel our membership that we’ve had because we take care of a parent with 2 types of terminal cancer and they refused to cancel because we weren’t moving 50 miles and I’m personally not ‘disabled’. Don’t understand how this isn’t considered an extenuating circumstance. Even offered proof of the disabled member and caregiver status. Still told me nope and I owe another almost $1000 even though during sign up, they said you can cancel at anytime and waive the fee with proof of extenuating life circumstances. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This review is replying to the person asking "Why are we allowing pets in the gym?"
Harley, is my highly trained Service animal. Service animals help people with disabilities live more independently. While emotional support animals are different from service animals, many service animals also help reduce anxiety and provide a sense of security, especially for people with PTSD or other psychological conditions.
It’s really important for me to be allowed to have my service dog with me, especially in places like the gym. My dog isn’t just a pet—she’s trained to help me with multiple serious needs. She’s a PTSD service dog and a guide dog, and she also alerts me if I’m in medical danger. That means she plays a huge role in keeping me safe and helping me function day-to-day. When I’m at the gym, I’m pushing my body and sometimes my limits. That can trigger medical issues or anxiety responses related to my PTSD. My dog can sense changes in my body before I even realize something’s wrong.
Thank you so much Clarksville Athletic Club for always being kind to me and not treating me any differently because of Harley, my service animal!

My five year old son has been attending the kids in motion classes about twice a week for the past six months. He has ADHD and is very energetic and athletic. This class keeps him both engaged and challenged. The coach does an amazing job of balancing structure with fun. She plans activities that are fast-paced, creative, and varied enough to hold his attention, while still helping him build strength, coordination, and focus. As a parent, I appreciate the encouraging atmosphere, the staff’s understanding of different learning and behavior styles, and how they meet each child where they’re at.
I highly recommend this class to any parent with a high-energy or neurodiverse child who thrives on movement and challenge!

I walked in (after work) this evening around 7 PM. It took the single staff member about 20 min to get me processed because he kept getting distracted instead of closing me out.
Since he wasted so much of my time, I decided to leave because I was no longer able to get a full workout in. I did not understand why he couldn’t complete one task before helping others at my expense.

How do we get a 24hr or lifetime close by!? This place is one thing after another. I carry a few memberships at a time and I’ve traveled all over the US and international to give the following context:
1. They force you to take a picture with your family for the pass which is understandable but not standard everywhere. Few months ago we were forced to retake a photo with our newborn which was this whole ordeal but fine, we got it done. Dayshift seems cool but the night shift has been a nightmare from day one. Today, they forced us to pay an additional 10 dollars a month for a newborn who is incapable of using the facilities. We don’t use the day care, essentially the wife watches our other two kids swim which essentially takes two of our members away from using the facilities.
2. Nightshift again, a year back kicked the wife out 1 hour prior to closing which was already an issue being they don’t maintain the pool lighting for swimming.
3. Assuming it’s nightshift unless dayshift refuses to but cleaning solution and cleaning towels is a consistent issue.
4. Instead of focusing on cleaning, customer service, maintaining the equipment(mainly stair-master) etc. their focus is to harass customers on the weird rules. (See other complaints in previous reviews)
5. Required to show marriage license to sign up with my wife and kids. Seems illegal but that started issues with day one.
I rarely go but carry it more for the wife as she’s a swimmer and for the kids to swim. Only reason we’re still there is lack of options. Pray something half way decent opens up to shut this trash gym down or bring it down a few pegs off its high horse. Ridiculous!

So far so good ☺️ As of 1/5/23 I went to use the thread mill and they didn't have them on. So I went to the front office and informed the person on the desk and one hour had pass and the machines were not turned on. I had to turned them on on my own. Customers should not be doing the staff's job. If they don't want to do their job maybe they should not be working here. First of April 2025 and here's an update they open up at 5:00 in the morning and the male locker rooms are not checked for cleanliness and supplies I think this is due do the fact that they're all females in the morning and they don't want to go into the Males locker room. They have signs saying to wipe down the equipment but they don't provide the supplies to do the job. I report the problem but the staff does nothing. I feel that they want the customer to provide the supplies.

Not a fan of them not offering day passes or their no photo policy. Outside of that they’re the best gym in town no question.

I went to a birthday party at the Clarksville Athletic club recently and was so impressed with how interactive it was and how much fun the kids and adults had together. It was a Nerf themed party and the gym provided the guns, inflatable barriers, and darts. The employees were sure to sanitize everything before and after we played. They also served the drinks, pizza, and cake after the Nerf portion of the party. They were extremely kind and anticipated our every need! When we left, my daughter was begging to have the same kind of party for her birthday this year!

This is my favorite gym I've ever been a part of and I've joined and worked at quite a few. The childcare is ESSENTIAL as an army wife who needs help getting in my own self care while my husband is away and the kids programs are excellent. There are lots of machines, cable towers, cardio, and functional fitness options but I do wish there were more options for lower body and that they were grouped a little better. Definitely a great fit for families with a way better price than the YMCA for a similar experience

NO JUDGEMENT: DATA-IN, DATA-OUT
I could add names here. But no matter "who I talked to", they represent the business as a whole:
After initial tour and membership rate meeting, went back to begin new membership.
1) Was initially told reduced rate for for Age 50+ = $38.00 monthly. When I returned, they stated this was ONLY if I sign a 1-year contract.
2) I explained I am new to the area and just recovering from Cancer diagnosis and treatments this year. I'll do a couple of month-to-months to ensure I can handle it and that it will benefit me - - before I sign and prepay for a full additional year. They explained that it does not work that way. I can sign a 1-year contract and then rescind within 7 days if I choose to. I explained 7 days is not enough time to evaluate. They stated that is the way it works per their policy.
3) I stated I would go ahead and do the monthly rate then for $49.99 per month. I was then advised of their $199 initiation fee. I reminded them of their current No Initiation Fee promotion through Christmas, on their website and posted in multiple places. They then stated that this is for 1-year contracts only. I stated that there are no limitations on the initiation fee waiver anywhere. I was told, "That does not matter. I do not handle the promotions."
I then clarified that if I wish to pre-pay for month-to-month for $49 up front, they get my money and if I do not even come back, they are out nothing. But to even start a $49 month-to-month they have a $199.00 initiation fee. "Yes, Sir, that is the policy. I don't make the policies."
If you are thinking I am just a cheap SOB looking for a freebie or low-ball deal, I am not.
From what I saw, a very nice and sizeable facility.
From what I experienced, the above speaks for itself...

The rules and policies are really weird at the gym. Management/employees don’t just make sure you follow the rules, they harass you and send other people to harass you, with zero patience, for example, Jennifer seems like she has a peeve or gets a kick out of telling people what to do. She has absolutely no patience for people to actually get a second to put their stuff away.

If you aren't married and would like to get a family Gym membership then do not try to get one here. We were given a whole tour of the place and had all our questions answered and everything was great. She went over pricing with us and we picked the 1 yr with $75 sign up fee and about $78 a month with which we were very happy with. When it came time to sign up we were informed that if we were not married that their policy states you cannot get a family gym membership here. We would have to get an individual for my partner at about $50 a month plus fee and then I would get the family for me and my two kids for the $79 a month plus enrollment fee. We ended up thanking her and walked out. It states that the family membership is for 2 adults and two children which we are. We felt awful walking out of there. I had heard about the rules being weird there but this is crazy. I feel like they take advantage at the fact that they have all the amenities. We were so excited to be able to bring our kids that are 16 and 13 with us. I wish they would change this ridiculous policy, we felt discriminated against for not being married.

The Clarksville Athletic Club is THE BEST GYM in Clarksville, and it is a GREAT and INCLUSIVE environment for Autistic adults to exercise. I am an Autistic adult and so is my partner, and here is our detailed review:
First off, it’s never too crowded! Even if the parking lot looks full, we don’t get that usual wave of anxiety, because the place is massive – 70,000 square feet! Once we’re inside, we can easily find our own space. There are so many different rooms to explore and exercise in, and each one feels like a private spot where we can do our own thing without being surrounded by a crowd.
The equipment is top-notch and there’s plenty in every room. It’s also not one of those gyms where everything looks the same. Each room has its own feel, so it doesn’t get boring! There’s even a Fit Flex Cinema where you can watch movies on a big screen while walking on the cardio machines. I like to start here for Transition Time between being in the car and doing strength training. It’s nice and dark in there. There’s also a sauna, a jacuzzi, and the lighting in most rooms is just right. And best of all – NO loud music blaring!
The bathrooms are fantastic too – they smell amazing, the floors aren’t freezing, and everything feels super clean. The colors are also really nice in the bathroom and throughout the whole gym. It just feels warm. They even have soap in the showers! There’s a huge indoor pool that stays at a perfect 84 degrees, plus an outdoor pool, and an indoor track above the basketball court. They’ve even got two racquetball courts, and a little dining area that serves beer. We don’t drink, but it’s fun seeing others relax and enjoy a beverage while we are over in the HIIT area. Also we get free personal training every four weeks!
It feels like a big adult playground with all these unique spaces to check out. Between the lighting, the quiet, and all the variety, it’s such a refreshing place to work out. I feel like we finally found the perfect fit for us!
Thank you Clarksville Athletic Club for providing a welcome space for Neurodivergent Folks to exercise!!!

Went to this gym over the summer, It was very big and had everything you need. I was apart of a family plan so I only had to pay 20 sum for my part. But I feel like the gym needs a bit more squats racks. There were a couple of days when I couldn’t OHP because all of them were being used. And it’s very expensive. But overall a very good gym equipment wise. I had tons of choices!

Individuals that work are extremely rude. Willing to disrupt your workout for any reason. Was told we can’t have a large water bottle because it didn’t fit in the cubby okay that’s fine, then continued to berate us like children about not joining their mandatory orientation…what? Is this 3rd grade? Their reason we couldn’t have it is because it takes up space in a cubby…we weren’t storing it in a cubby and it was in no one’s way and was secured. However they felt the need to disrupt us in the middle of a set forcing me to re-rack. No one informed us at the front desk when walking in with it. Why is this place more focused on silly rules instead of taking care of their equipment which is borderline ready to cause bodily injury. Please avoid.

Was never a big fan of this gym I go to crunch and another private gym. But I stop by every now and then for a change of scenery and every time I'm reminded on why I don't frequent this gym. Too many weird rules like no one gallon water jugs, no dropping weights at knee level or above, no chalk, no holding equipment. Got yelled at for recording by management even tho I had already asked every one around me for permission and they were cool with it. What's with the water jug rule??? And if I'm cleaning and need to bail I'm not going to set the weight down below my knees I'm going to bail wherever that weight happens to be. Bailing on squats is another example where I'm not going to worry about setting that weight down gently. I'm getting it off my back as quickly as I can. Recording I can see where management is coming from but this is also the only gym where this has been a problem and like I previously stated I checked with everyone around me prior to recording. If you're a casual lifter who goes just to maintain health then really there's nothing wrong with this gym. But if you're a more serious and advanced lifter I would highly recommend you find a different gym.

Pool heater is still broken and is very cloudy which isn’t new. they say they send out an email about the broken heater in the pool but I’ve never received one and the five people I’ve talked to has never received one they can’t place a simple sign on the door coming into the gym. The pool heater is still broken. Of course not that would make too much sense. I’ve noticed when things are broken and they’re very slow to repair them, the pool should be closed when it’s not clean it might be chlorinated, but definitely not sanitized and it doesn’t look safe to swim in but nobody oversees the pool the employees maintain the porch I don’t think it’s acceptable by the Board of Health but I might be wrong.

One of the best gyms in the area at an incredible price. Wife and I are members at $60/month total. Hot tub, sauna, indoor and outdoor pool and of course LOADS of equipment. Even on a Monday you can find a chest press machine if the benches are taken. That's a solid sign of a well equipped gym, not to mention all the different cardio sections you can get away to. It's got a weird layout but it helps keep down foot traffic if you're looking for a more solitary place to workout.
The only ding I'd give it is that the front desk staff can seem a little less than helpful if you're trying to get their attention for something but it's not something you'll have to deal with every time you go.

Overall, I must say that it is a fantastic gym that offers a wide range of amenities and services to its members. The staff, for the most part, were always friendly, helpful, and eager to assist with any inquiries or concerns that I had during my time there.
However, I encountered a slightly perplexing situation with one of the weekend staff members that left me feeling a bit puzzled. While the majority of the staff members were accommodating and attentive, one particular lady seemed disinterested in assisting me with a membership query. When I inquired about the possibility of canceling one Sunday afternoon, she mentioned that cancellations were not possible due to the absence of a manager on duty.
This policy struck me as odd and somewhat contradictory. It seemed illogical that memberships could be initiated and payments accepted on weekends, while the option to cancel a membership was restricted during the same timeframe. This inconsistency in service left me slightly disappointed, as it contradicted the otherwise positive experiences I had at the gym.
Despite this isolated incident, I would still recommend this gym to anyone looking for a well-equipped gym with a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
I hope that the management can address this policy discrepancy to ensure a more streamlined and customer-centric experience for all members.
In conclusion, Clarksville Athletic Club is a great fitness facility that provides ample opportunities for individuals to pursue their fitness journey. While my encounter with the weekend staff member was less than ideal, it did not overshadow the positive aspects of the gym as a whole.

Recently rejoined this club after many years. Did so for the family plan and paid up front for the entire year. Rethinking whether we’ve over committed. The staff is a little stand off-ish. A lot of hindering policy surrounding liability. Don’t feel like we can use the facility as a family without the need to chaperone our little ones at every activity they’re allowed to do; parents can’t observe children from their own routine, if children are in the facility, parents are strictly there to supervise, as children under a certain age aren’t allowed anywhere in the facility without a parent right next to them besides the Zone. Seems like they only provide those resources for families that can use the gym M-Thurs but over the weekend workouts for families are hardly possible unless you co-spouse it for a few hours. They said they cut the weekends because parents weren’t bringing their children, sounds like cost shavings to me. My kids are usually tired within an hour, so multiple hours would be hard to get them thru for both parents to use the facility over the weekend. We don’t see how the membership will be feasible during the school year or around our work schedules. The staff again, quick to restate policy. How a basketball court is a liability for children under a certain age is absurd; especially when a parent is working out within view of their immediate surrounding. What’s a liability is the pick up games that lock down 3 of 4 basketball goals leaving only one goal for the rest of the members to share. It’s poorly managed. Using the ping-pong table for a peg board. My daughter was plowed over on the basketball court by much older teenagers for a pickup game that sprung out of no where, after I asked them to mind the children. One of the kids suggested that shooters have the other side of the court, we were on the court way before this game sprung up, and the moment the court looked avail, they started a full court game regardless of who else was in the area. So far not very impressed, the customer accommodation is so far not what it use to be.

Clarksville Athletic club has to be the most unsettling Gym I’ve ever joined. The manager James reminds me a lot of Cuba Gooding Jrs character in ‘Radio’ except a lot more obnoxious. This man is stubborn as a mule and completely close minded. He’s obsessed with being in everyone’s business and watches things that I feel like he shouldn’t be focused on. THIS GYM WOULD BE SO MUCH MORE INVITING WITHOUT THIS MAN IN CHARGE. He threatens to research your name and email if you leave a bad review. I think it’s extremely bizarre that not only is he the manager but he’s also the personal trainers. My wife wanted to do classes but felt uncomfortable when she realized HE WAS THE TRAINER FOR ALL THE CLASSES. She was terrified of requesting another trainer ( which caused a waiting list of 4 weeks which is also odd!) the atmosphere is weird, you are constantly feeling judged and watched by this man. He’s rigid, passive aggressive, and too old to be running things. CAC IS A DYING CLUB, if they don’t make changes I fear the worst. As a fellow black man I am EMBARRASSED by both his personalityAND his toxic management skills. Crunch gym is free for people with disabilities! AND ITS 24/7. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!

I had been on the fence about joining because of how much it costs. BUT I've been going for a year here and it's been my favorite place by far. The management team and the trainers are amazing.
They're very attentive to you're needs by building a plan for you and what works for you with check-ins etc. Everyone is always up for friendly chatter. They make it comfortable for you! Not like those gyms where it all feels judgy and stuffy full of people. Even when they're full they have such open space and different locations to exercise in peace.
Normally I don't like to be bothered by kids around or people but people here really mind their own and if not it's usually a quick help in something. They have special classes for the kids so they're always busy and out of the way.
They're quick to work on any equipment that's down.
I always talk about the Saunas and pools they're always the best after a work out. ITS WORTH IT. Hope this helps!!

We moved and I was going to just let my membership end. Tried going to a new gym close to where we moved to. It had most of the equipment I like but almost no free weights except for a leg press. Everything else was Smith Machine, dumbbells or regular machines. It was extremely hard to get into a lifting groove when I tried that place for a couple weeks. If I can’t get into the right mindset it’s hard for me to get in a good lift. So I decided to stay at CAC and drive a few extra miles to lift. Plenty of different machines and free weight options. The only thing I’ve ever had to wait for is the fly/rear delt machine (y’all might want to get another one).

Don’t sign a contract here! Go somewhere where you pay monthly with no contract. Whatever happens your stuck paying it regardless. Gym is too busy and regulars will bogart all the free weights and when you want to use a weight bench or powerlifting equipment, they will make rude comments like your blocking them from they’re workout routine. Then when you see that a equipment is free and you think you can use it, a regular patron will casually place their water bottle behind you and say that their using that equipment. This happened twice to me. I just had it! Can’t stand the rudeness of the regular patrons here! I hope Covid comes and people stop coming here and this gym closes! This gym is dirty and smells awful! Old equipment outdated and broken! Go to planet fitness and save your money! In fact, planet fitness’s gym is better! Wished CAC was a Planet Fitness! Maybe the owner should sell it to Planet Fitness for profit and then he can pay for his mansions and all his yachts, Harley’s, sports cars and GMC Denalis that we all helped pay for along with child supports and his kid’s college educations to Harvard and Yale! Yup, all of us stupid people paid for all that and probably then some! Trump said it best, “I love stupid people”. This is why!

The place could use a proper cleaning. I kept getting a whiff of mildew every once in a while and it seems I'm not the only one. The staff can be friendly but not always. It feels less like a place to work out and more like a place to be SEEN working out. If you're looking to get into exercising and maintaining your health, this isn't the place to do it. They only want you if you're already active and healthy. So less "community friendly" and more of a "beautiful people only" club.

Mixed Experience at the athletic club
Rating: 3/5
I've been a loyal member of the athletic club for over a year now, and while there are certainly positives to highlight, there are a few aspects that have left me somewhat dissatisfied.
On the positive side, they offer a pool , track, lots of equipment and a spacious cardio room with an array of equipment. However, it's disappointing that only a limited number of these treadmills are in proper working condition in the cardio room. This can be frustrating, especially during peak hours when availability becomes scarce. The weight equipment is also very worn and needs updating.
Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for the gym is dampened by concerns about its overall cleanliness. The men's locker rooms, especially those near the basketball court, consistently emit an unpleasant odor that suggests inadequate cleaning practices. The main locker room isn't exempt from this issue either, with a mixture of chlorine and urine scent pervading the air. Such hygiene concerns can create an uncomfortable environment for members who are looking for a clean and inviting place to work out.
My most significant frustration revolves around the gym's payment system. Initially, I opted for a yearly upfront payment, expecting to switch to a monthly plan afterward. However, I was shocked to learn that my membership had been cancelled without any prior notice. Upon inquiring about the situation, I was informed that the automatic transition to a month-to-month plan does not occur for those who paid in full upfront. While I understand the policy, I'm disappointed that the staff didn't provide clearer communication during the sign-up process or offer timely reminders about the impending transition.
Furthermore, the fact that I now need to repay the signup fee, which amounts to $100, feels like an unnecessary inconvenience. This could have been easily mitigated with proactive communication and reminders from the gym's management team.
My experience at the athletic club has been a mixed bag. The availability of equipment and facilities could be improved, and the issue of cleanliness needs serious attention. Additionally, the payment process and communication strategies could use significant refinement to ensure members are not caught off guard by unexpected changes. As a member who values both the workout environment and the overall customer experience, I hope that they take these concerns to heart and works towards enhancing the overall member satisfaction.
Pros:
- Spacious cardio room with varied equipment.
- Potential for a diverse workout experience.
Cons:
- Limited availability of functional equipment.
- Hygiene issues in men's locker rooms.
- Inadequate communication about payment transitions.

The facility is great and modern but most of the staff are rude and the place smells dirty like mildew. I had paid up front for the year and expected to pay month to month after that year. I went to the gym and scanned my card like usual and the young blonde kid says "You're done bro" . I asked what that meant and if a manager could look into my account to get this resolved. He told me it does't matter and I will have to sign up again and pay all the initial fees again. I told the kid if I'm paying signup fees again it will be with a different gym.

BEWARE!!!! This place is not what it seems. The place is not clean in most areas, they lie about some of the activities they supposedly offer, I’ve tried to cancel after them not holding up to what they’ve promised and couldn’t so I payed the monthly fees until my contract was to expire for another 8 months, once the 8 months was over they continued to charge my credit card because they automatically renewed my contract until I physically came in to sign something to stop payments which they will charge you another 30 days afterwards. SCAM!

Has everything you need and more, can get very crowded, but worth the wait for your next set or take a break and watch a movie while doing cardio in the movie room.

I moved to Clarksville May, 2023 and joined CAC quickly
I love this facility and all that it offers. I never feel judged when I work out. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have three kids who love going to the nursery and kid zone while I work out.

Super expensive for an okay gym.
Which wouldn't be a a problem. However 80% of the weight machines are old as hell.
You pay for the pool basketball, and the little rec areas within. The money definitely does not go towards new gym equipment.

This place is too expensive for them to not work with their customers to help them achieve wellness. Clarksville has a huge volleyball community and CAC used to be a place we played. But after having us on one court with over 60 people wanting to play the numbers dropped because they were unwilling to accommodate for the 2 hrs that volleyball has slotted and open up the second court. When they did after much pressure they refused to put up the basketball nets or move the large nets at either end of the court so we were playing unsafely. At one point the courts metal rim around the perimeter was broken and their solution was duct tape even though it was sharp and a major tripping hazard! Yet still no help for the large community that wanted to play. Now today there’s an open court with no one on it and plenty of people who want to play and they took down the net and said we had to speak to management because we didn’t coordinate with them. A year or two ago Our group even started putting up and taking down the nets on our own so we wouldn’t disturb the staff members or make extra work because that’s how much we love to play. What other facility makes their members who pay upward to 50$ for membership do that. Our volleyball group has officially posted to cancel our memberships there and go elsewhere to a community center that will care for its members.
This facility also is extremely old and hasn’t been updated for a while, in the summer the AC broke and it took weeks to fix it and heat stroke was very common, and when they would allow us to play volleyball the net was old, the balls were flat (we brought our own balls) and the lines on the court up until about a year ago for volleyball was blue tape that was torn up. Took a lot of encouragement to get that fixed and even then they told us we could retape it but we had to do it. They have no service at all at this place! A center that states it’s there for its community is severely failing with helping and accepting all its members.
Only reason I gave it two stars is I did like the sauna (when it works) and the group fitness classes have some amazing instructors!
And then when you want to cancel your membership because they take away your main reason for going here in the first place you can’t because you had to sign on for a year… they only care about money not the community!

A Critical Assessment of Management and Facility Conditions at Clarksville Athletic Club
This review aims to present a detailed evaluation of the managerial practices and facility conditions at the Clarksville Athletic Club. Drawing upon the experiences of numerous patrons, it becomes apparent that James, one of the managers, exhibits consistently mean-spirited and spiteful behavior, creating an unpleasant environment for gym-goers. Furthermore, the inadequate maintenance of the saunas, characterized by dirt accumulation, and the unhygienic state of the indoor pool contribute to the club's overall decline in quality. It is crucial for the owners to reevaluate their managerial choices and address the appalling facility conditions promptly.
Managerial Conduct: James' Mean-Spirited Behavior
One cannot help but notice the lamentable demeanor of James, one of the managers at Clarksville Athletic Club. Numerous reports from over 60 gym members attest to his consistently rude and spiteful nature. Instead of fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere, James appears to derive pleasure from making others uncomfortable. His habit of intensely staring people down is both unsettling and unprofessional, creating an environment that is anything but welcoming. It is evident that such behavior runs counter to the principles of effective management and contradicts the core values of the club.
Sanitary Concerns: Neglected Saunas
A glaring issue that needs immediate attention at the Clarksville Athletic Club is the deplorable state of the saunas. Rather than providing a relaxing and clean space for members, these areas are plagued by negligence and lack of proper maintenance. The saunas are consistently covered in dirt and have clearly not undergone any cleaning procedures in a considerable period. This disregard for basic hygiene standards not only compromises the members' health but also reflects poorly on the club's commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
Hygiene and Safety Hazards: Unsanitary Indoor Pool
Another pressing concern is the condition of the indoor pool, which regrettably appears to be in a consistently slimy state. The presence of slippery surfaces and a lack of effective cleaning protocols create hazardous conditions for swimmers. A hygienic pool environment is of paramount importance for the well-being and satisfaction of the club's members. Failure to address this issue promptly not only jeopardizes the health of patrons but also tarnishes the club's reputation as a safe and desirable facility for aquatic activities.
Recommendations for Improvement:
In light of the aforementioned issues, it is crucial that the owners of the Clarksville Athletic Club take immediate action to rectify the situation. First and foremost, a thorough review of managerial staff is necessary, with a particular focus on James and his detrimental behavior. Hiring a more professional and empathetic manager will undoubtedly contribute to a more positive and inclusive gym environment.
Furthermore, the club must address the unsanitary conditions of the indoor pool promptly. Implementing stringent cleaning protocols, conducting regular water quality testing, and ensuring the availability of non-slip surfaces will be fundamental in guaranteeing the safety and satisfaction of swimmers.
The Clarksville Athletic Club currently faces significant challenges due to the unprofessional conduct of one of its managers, James, and the poor maintenance of its facilities. The mean-spirited behavior exhibited by James and the unsanitary conditions in the saunas and indoor pool significantly diminish the overall quality of the club. Urgent intervention is required from the owners to rectify these issues, as failure to do so risks alienating existing members and undermining the club's reputation. By addressing these concerns promptly, the owners can pave the way for a more positive and enjoyable experience for all patrons of the Clarksville Athletic Club.

We signed up recently and have attended a couple of times. Our daughter loves coming to walk/run on the treadmill. Today, my wife went for the first time and wanted to get her own Keychain tag. The young lady helping her was nice enough, but then another bald gentleman came in and stood over her at the desk and was extremely rude and condensing to her and my family! He was also complaining about thorns in the bushes outside. Try not to complain in front of clients. it's a bad look! My experiences have been great thus far, but my wife's first and only experience has been of a rude person. I'm not sure if he is part-time or hasn't been here much before, but if that's what you have representing CAC, then leadership needs a sit down and reevaluate! We are within our 7-day cancelation period, and we are really considering not coming back.
