As a Korean and a black belt who trained in Korea for over six years, I know what authentic Taekwondo is supposed to look like—and I can confidently say that this is the real thing. Master Eun is a Kukkiwon-certified master instructor, and he teaches Taekwondo exactly the way it is taught in Korea: disciplined, traditional, and true to its philosophy.

In my opinion, this is the only dojang in Knoxville (and the surrounding area) that offers genuine Korean Taekwondo. There may be other places that use the name “Taekwondo“ but as someone who grew up with the real thing, I can tell you: this is the only school where you’re learning Taekwondo the way it was meant to be taught.

I brought my two children to this class and we were starting out. We had went for two months. Then I had a stroke and told Master Eun we had to move in with family and could no longer come in. It was the first week of the month. I fully paid for that month and ask him to not charge me any longer because we would not be back. I am wheelchair bound and cannot drive now.
He charged me an additional $540 then he blatantly blamed the credit card processing company and told me to call them. I told him this is between me and you. They have nothing to do with it. He stated I would not be getting a refund for the unused 2 months I paid for and hung up on me crying bc I can’t afford groceries now!!

Great place to have kids do taekwondo. The only thing not mentioned when we signed up is that there is a $50 charge each time they test for a new belt. Overall a great place!

I've got an eight year old taking classes here. Master Eun is great with the kids. My little one went quickly from dreading the drive to being ready to go to class and smiling all through it. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere for your kids.

Could be more disciplined. I didn't hear yes or no ma'am or sir. No bowing in or off the mat. Talking during instructions. Black belt kids showed minimal enthusiasm.

I studied various styles of martial arts for approximately 30 years, and have trained with many excellent and skilled teachers, and I believe that you should chose the best teacher to train with (and not the art). When it came time to chose a school for my son, who was 5 at the time, I chose Master Eun after looking into and researching the other teachers in Knoxville. Teaching children is difficult, and the special thing about Master Eun is he really focuses on each individual child and understands how to motivate and help them to improve as a child and as a martial artist. Having watched Master Eun for the past 2.5 years, I can see how valuable his instruction has been for my child. I have no reservations recommending him to parents looking to help their child grow and tap into their potential.

Eun's is the place to go if you want to learn martial arts or if you wish your kids to learn martial arts as well as how to become a responsible young person. Black Belts at Eun's are not awarded just because you attend class for a certain amount of time. This is traditional Tai Kwan Do. The belts are Earned when you have mastered the belt requirements. When you are awarded the Black Belt by Grand Master Eun, you know that you have completed what is required mentally, physically, and emotionally for that rank. For children, the self recognition that they have achieved that knowledge, skill, and responsibility is irreplaceable.

Buyer beware. My kids attended for 3 years and when they achieved black belt, they were refused an official black belt by Eun. Many questions regarding this. I would make sure to check all documentation and expections are explored/confirmed before starting a costly program that did not provide me the expected and promised results.

Master Eun is a great knowledgeable instructor that teaches traditional Martial Arts and the humbleness and respect that entails. I am 13 and my brother 10 and my dad take classes from him as a family. He values family and respect. If you want to learn Martial Arts and how to be a better person as well, spend your time here.

Master Eun and his instructors are outstanding! They really care about my two boys, who are now 8 and 10 years old. My boys have taken from Master Eun now for 3 years now, and I can't say enough good things about this school.
