Their machines are disgusting. The entire row of machines look like this , it’s not just one machine. They NEVER clean their equipment, it’s debris literally packed into it. Drops of sweat got it looking like rain drops, it’s disgusting. I’ve never seen a gym more filthy in all of the area.

Gave this location a second chance but I'll continue driving almost 30min each way to the M'boro South location even though I live right by this one. The men's bathroom doesn't have soap dispensers at all and the paper towel dispenser is broken, so everyone is touching the equipment with unwashed bathroom hands which is just nasty. Toilet seat covered in pee. Treadmills are outdated and various equipment needs replacing. Building has few windows and insufficient AC so it's like working out in a cave. No staff at front desk. Not sure where these positive reviews are coming from.

I’ve had a membership at this gym for almost 3 years now and haven’t been back for quite a while… I went in today because I needed a quick workout before I went to work and it is the closest gym to my house. It was the dirtiest thing that I have ever seen it. There were paper towels all over the floor all throughout the gym. There was dust and hair and gum wrappers underneath the Free weights. I collected a pile of garbage from just around the cable machines and took it up to the guy at the front desk and let him know that he should take a walk around the gym and pick up garbage and he got pissy with me and blamed it on in the morning person to open the gym… There is no way that that much garbage was left around between the time in the morning person was working, and it was his turn for his shift It looks like they have not cleaned in weeks there. I was completely appalled and disgusted with the condition of the gym and I will be canceling my membership and not returning.

I’ve been looking for a good gym with a nice atmosphere for the past few months since moving to Smyrna. I didn’t want to drive all the way to Murfreesboro to my previous gym. I decided to give Golds Gym a try and it was the BEST decision. I went in late one evening and the staff was very friendly and helpful! The sweetest team member Pearson helped me get my membership set up and squared away! Now I can stay in shape! Not only is it a great atmosphere but there is definitely some eye candy in attendance :D
If you are looking for a well equipped gym with a good view then Golds Gym in Smyrna is perfect!

Gold’s Gym is my go-to place in Rutherford County for my fitness needs. The Smyrna location is perfect whenever I want to use their indoor track to walk or run during this hot weather. Not everyone prefers a treadmill. I don’t even know where to start. The front desk people were nice. They told me about the free personal training session when I signed up so I decided to go through with the free session. Robert, the personal trainer, answered some of my questions but apparently he was not truthful. I asked him if I signed up but wanted to stop after a month if there would be a cancellation fee. He said I could cancel whenever without penalty. That’s the only reason I took him for his word and signed up.. a couple weeks later I tried to cancel and they said it would cost me $700. DO NOT TRUST HIM. Because he lied and I fell for his BS, golds gym is charging me over $3,000. I shouldn’t have stepped into that awful place or trusted him. They are not looking out for you, they just want to steal your money. 😠

The Worst Gym DO Better Gold's Gym!!!! My 19 year old son that is in college. Had to cancel his membership because he couldn't afford it anymore. But they still charge him an additional $52 for canceling. After he just paid this monthly, Membership of $26 plus a $16.99 Yearly maintenance. For a total of $94.99 for the month of March. Do better!!! How can you charge a broke college kid? Yeah, I highly suggest not going to this place. There are plenty of other gyms around.

It was my first time signing up for a gym membership which was expressed to everyone I spoke to there. I did a month to month membership as well as signed up for one month of PT. Or, at least I thought. I told Robert several times I was moving within 1-2 months and he failed to mention to me that signing up for PT was a year contract, nor did he explain how to cancel or anything of that matter. I didn’t know until I saw another $440 charge on my account the next month. It is extremely scammy to sign someone up for something and not tell them it’s a year contract, especially when I expressed I was moving in a month or two. When I tried to confront Robert about him not telling me it was a year contract he completely denied it and was extremely rude and dismissive. If I knew it was a year contract, I wouldn’t have signed up for it knowing I was moving soon or I would’ve made sure to follow the cancellation process before an almost $500 charge hit my account. Especially right before a move. I wish I would’ve seen the multiple bad reviews about Robert before signing up with this gym. He’s only brining money into your gym because he is lying to people. I hope your company cares more about the people than money.

Gold's Gym has been absolutely terrible when it comes to how they handle their PT clients. I was told one thing at sign up and when it came time to cancel the service was told something completely different. very bad service, they deceive you, they make you sign for a plan that was not chosen, a more expensive one and you realize when they make the first debit and when you are going to ask for an explanation they tell you that this plan was the one that was signed and If you want to leave the gym you have to pay an annual fee of 45 dollars and a month of 35 dollars in advance, and when you change your plan they charge you 8 dollars for the change and then they debit you 45 dollars for the year and they make you the debit of 19 pains every 6 months of maintenance, for me that is a scam and lack of seriousness.

RUN! I would give zero stars if I could. Avoid signing a contract at all costs with this place. I signed a three month contract and paid upfront. I was over charged $200+ and had to fight tooth and nail for months to get my money back. I was told my contract was "opened ended" that I would not be refunded, and that they require a 30 day cancellation fee. I had to print my contract off to show I DID NOT select an open ended plan. Every step of the way I was met with resistance and disregard. I was only refunded when I made them aware my lawyer would be reviewing my contract. You know it's bad when I had to teach the gentleman working the counter how to use a printer. This place is nothing short of a scam.

Everytime I go and do my cardio a good chunk of the machines don't work and they have no signs on them. I rather move on then play musical cardio machine. After more than 4 years with them when in had to cancel for relocation they charge me because I suppose to give them 30 days notice previous cancellation plus other fee.

The equipment stays in continuous disrepair (missing broken dumbbells, splinters on the floor from deteriorating molding). I won’t re-up with Golds once my contract is done.

Love the yoga & the gym, BUT DONT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE with the current childcare lady (middle aged, grey shoulder length hair, glasses) She is extremely rude, yells at kids and doesn’t seem to enjoy children. Snapping at the kids, rude to the parents, she seems so unhappy and miserable with life.

We are a blended family and she has made rude comments about who picks up our kids, like their biological parent needs to get them and step parents can’t. She is rude and snippy which is simply uncalled for. Not friendly at all, and we hate going in there to work out when she’s there. Those types of interactions make or break someone’s experience at the gym.

You would think they’d have someone in there who enjoys children. We were sold on Golds because of their childcare option but didn’t sign up for our kids or ourselves to be treated harshly. I really hope that woman pursues another passion because it’s not in childcare.
