Honestly, it’s such a bummer that no one is allowed in the aerobics room anymore except during a class (which early occur and never ever occur when I go at 5 AM). It was my preferred warm up/cool down/quiet space. Now, my only option is the small mat in front of the window which is frequently taken up or the grassy area which is uncomfortable and often full too. Stretching is just as important as the actual lifting, so it’s disappointing for LA Fitness to show that’s not a priority with the lack of space.

I can’t say I’m surprised. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before LA Fitness had enough. This is Memphis. Folks who can’t act right brought violence into the game and ruined it for everyone else. I made a few calls to check out other LA Fitness locations—every single court has now been turned into a CrossFit room. It’s sad. We’re losing our youth—no morals, no respect, no principles. The worst part is that we continue to tolerate savage behavior. As a society, we have to do better.

I’ve been working out at the Stage Rd location for a few months and I love the staff here. Everyone is very kind and personable. Rai (the fitness director) has helped me so much with my personal training and assisted me with any questions that I’ve had concerning the logistics of the program. Very large, well-equipped gym. The staff keeps it clean, tidy, and in good working order. Women's locker room is clean and spacious. The manager, Ms. Hattie is great and appreciates when you let her know something is broken.

The app is up-to-date on closures or business hour changes due to weather/power outages/gas leaks.

As far as the gym culture there, it could be improved. There's no norm of wiping equipment. Very few people ever do it. I admit, I don't either because it's not part of the vibe there, and the miniature wet wipes are pretty ridiculous. Weights are often not restacked by the patrons. And you've got the dudes who scroll on their phones on the equipment instead of actually doing a workout. But I guess every gym has those time waster machine-hoggers and I don't now how the management could realistically shame them into being more courteous gymgoers.

Really nice facilities with no classes as advertised. After I got done being sold on spin class and all the other perks, they whittled the classes down to nothing. So now you just overpay for old worn out gym equipment when even ATC has the new gen equipment at $15 a month. Thanks for cutting all the classes right after I got done paying the exorbitant initiation fee and all that. But hey, it has a basketball court and gym that are always full!

I don't understand why this location doesn't have amenities that are LA Fitness standard. No sauna. The swimming pool needs new caulking. No hot tub neither. The Lakeland location has these things. I check in and had to head back to my car to get my headphones and one of the associates stops me mid work out to ask me to check in again. Doesn’t say anything to the dozens of people filming, women walking around half naked or the groups of people hanging out socializing and blocking machines and not working out. I believe the staffing must to be underpaid and overwork because the place sucks. The customers are the worst part, always using multiple machines at the same time and you need wait they go trhu their phone while a machine is completely empty, it makes no sense. But yesterday, a trainer, employee, told me her client would need the machine I was using so I should get out soon. I am not this kind of person that blows up in places, but come on! Why I need to interrompt my training because another client need to finish their training? I was on the machine, using it, my brakes are 1 minute between 3 sections of 12. Why is my monthly fee not good enough? Guys do better.

As far as a good gym for the price this has it all. The equipment is new and well laid out, and the indoor pool is nice. Alao has a good cross training area. The only issue I'd say is it has a ton of traffic and sometimes you'll have to wait for certain equipment, so may have to adjust your workout schedule to account for the crowd. Also I tend to train circuits so the crowds make it difficult to use more than one piece of equipment at a time or rotate through different workouts. All and all a good gym for the price.

Do not sign up for this gym unless you are committed to a lifetime membership. I cancelled my account in November of last year but they continued to try to withdraw money. I switched my payment method to a dead debit card because I read online that they would do this. I spoke to multiple people at local locations and the corporate office and was always assured that my account was cancelled and they wouldn't try to withdraw anymore only for it to happen again the next week. I finally reached Hattie at the Bartlett location and she informed me that she isn't waiving the balance and that she'd close my account but I owe everything from November to January. She was very unprofessional in handling the situation with me. I would not advise signing up here.

Don’t waste your time, money, or energy here. My husband and I joined this gym in Dec and we had a free personal training assessment work out where the trainer did not have us stretch and did not educate us at all about how to work out. The trainer basically put us in a 1 hr conditioning work out in the middle of the open area of the gym where my husband and I almost threw up and I had a back and neck injury for 2 weeks after. We tried a couple more times but it was not worth the money and there is no guidance, kindness, or community there. When we signed up I felt self conscious and the staff just kept telling us to eat less, without any knowledge of our diet and home life. I am very confident in myself and am not usually self conscious about my body but the staff there made it their mission to have me feeling otherwise. They called me every day and have junked up my email trying to upgrade our membership to a more expensive one, and when my husband went to cancel on Saturday they said we had to go from 9-4pm Monday-Friday, which is when most people are working and can’t go all the way over to their gym just to cancel. My husband went on his lunch today, a Thursday, to cancel but they wouldn’t because “the person who can cancel gym memberships weren’t there”. Esporta Fitness, if I can get a membership to your gym any time during your operating hours, I should be able to cancel anytime during your operating hours. This gym is a SCAM. Please don’t go here ❤️

Not only have they stopped providing cleaning solution in squirt bottles for the members to clean the equipment between uses, but their 24/7 availability sometime in the future promise has been reduced to cutting hours to almost bankers hours. Al principio me pareció un buen gym, te tratan muy bien para que compres tu membresía. Los entrenadores te tratan de maravillas cuando te ofrecen sus paquetes de entrenador personal, pero cuando decides no tomar los servicios ni te saludan más y te hacen malas caras, son muy groseros todo el personal de atención. En ocasione me hicieron bajar de la escaleras, estando a media rutina solo porque el chico de limpieza iba a limpiar el piso, a parte que no te lo dicen sutilmente y te lo piden de porfavor, son muy groseros, le dan mal trato al cliente a parte que no hay entrenadores que te expliquen cómo utilizar las máquinas para los principiantes, si no le pagas clases de entrenamiento personal, ni te toman en cuenta….. la gerente está de juguete ahí porque no resuelve los inconvenientes, y manda mas y tiene mas poder el personal de limpieza y los entrenadores ni que la misma gerente. Un amigo hoy tubo un inconveniente en la ducha se estaba duchando y cuando ya se nos disponíamos a salir de las duchas habían 3 entrenadores y sin ninguna explicación nos sacaron a la calle mi amigo y yo preguntamos que sucedía y ninguno nos quiso dar una respuesta solo nos decían que nuestra membresía había quedado cancelada que nos saliéramos o llamarían a la Policia. Decidimos ir con la gerente para que nos diera una explicación, y al momento que le preguntamos llegaron los mismo 3 entrenadores más groseros que nunca y le arrebató el celular a mi amigo para que no se comunicara más con la gerente y nos hacharon a la calle…. Me parece de muy mal gusto que te corran así cuando tú no estás de gratis ahí. No les recomiendo ese gym es de lo peor en cuanto a personal de trabajo. This location is horrible. I wanted to cancel my membership and I was told I could not cancel because the manager had left for the day. The manager was called and she stated she only works mon- Friday . I was instructed to check my email print out a form and send it back in . How inconveniencing is that !!! They are not bad but they could be a lot better. Like having instructors that actually teach a class. Maybe they should hire people that do Les Mills classes and are certified cause they don’t act like they know anything. Also no signs that say wipe down the equipment when done. You have to walk to the front of the gym to get a spray bottle. Why not have spray bottles where all the paper towels are. And why does the music for the group training class have to be louder then music that is already playing in the gym? Do better ESPORTA do better! I was a guest of my brother who goes for the equipment which is extensive and looks to be in good shape. Locker area and showers were roomy and clean.
However I went for the pool which is a 3 lane lap pool. There were 3 people already in the pool. One appeared to stay at one end and I asked if I could use the other end which she said was fine because she couldn't swim and was just doing exercises in the water. This was about 2:00 in the afternoon so I imagine after work that pool is really difficult to get into. For a gym that large the pool really is too small. But for non swimmers that want plenty of exercise equipment it looks like a good choice.

This place is a joke. My membership was canceled but they kept charging me for group fitness. $65.00 per month and even went as far as to auto renew it. When I called about it, they said I should have read the contract. It states it auto renews and is automatically billed. Ok but if I no longer have a membership to the gym where the group fitness class is held, why on earth would I continue to pay for it?? It’s my fault for not pulling out the contract and rereading it when I went to cancel but I never would have thought they would have been so underhanded. It just didn’t make sense. If they knew I was messing up by not addressing the group fitness, why not be a good partner and tell me? They just kept taking my money, month after month knowing I no longer had a membership. DO NOT sign up for membership at this place. Use Planet Fitness or someone else that’s not going to try to cheat you. Even if you don’t get cheated by them personally, do you really want to do business with a organization that would do this to other people??

It's too cold!! It's exceptionally difficult to build a sweat when it feels like it's 60 degrees with almost 10 giant fans on simultaneously. The dumbbells are too light. It's a luxury commercial gym so I understand it's not catered to serious lifters, but, at least, they should be a hyperextension machine and 150 lb dumbbells.

I just started my membership here about two weeks ago now. The facility is really nice. And all of the workers have been super nice. However, in my short period of time at this gym, there have already been 2 separate occasions where the employee that was supposed to open was late and there was a group of people waiting to get in. Management should definitely be aware of this and work to rectify this, as it is unfair to the members who’s schedules only allow for them to work out early in the morning. Other than that I have no negative feedback, and my only issue is one that can be easily fixed by management if they care enough to do so.

I like it here! I'm a large woman in a wheelchair. If I don't feel intimidated, you shouldn't either. Everyone is so nice, no matter what location I am in. Great prices, a pool and eye candy everywhere (no matter what your taste is) why would you go anywhere else.

Came to the pool to swim tonight, and all 3 lanes were taken, 2 by multiple people. One lane in particular has had two girls jumping and making out for over half an hour, just kind of floating there. Called the main desk from the pool area to ask if this kind of behavior was allowed, they said they weren’t aware of the situation and would come check it out. 15 minutes have gone by and no one has come to check on the pool. Apparently there’s no time limit as far as occupying the lane either, as the front desk just told me. So who knows how long I’ll be here watching these two wrestle and make out. Or the dudes having a holding their breath contest in the next lane. I’ll probably cancel my membership on the way out because I can watch two girls kids online for free.
