The gym has refused to cancel my father’s contract, even though he has fallen on hard times. Hidden in the fine print, they locked him into a three year agreement, and despite multiple attempts to work with them, they declined to offer any flexibility or compassion. It’s extremely disappointing to see a business prioritize strict policies over basic understanding and customer care.

You'll essentially pay a lot of money for a standard gym and an inconsistent sauna. I've lived all over the country and never paid this high of a monthly rate for what's considered your basic gym. The sauna is consistently too low, too high, or just flat out busted. I don't get it and it's frustrating. The staff is nice and friendly and welcoming. I guess because it's a rural area with not a lot of options they can get away with the rate and the inconsistencies. I'm locked in for a year, another thing that's never happened to me, so I'll stay but most likely won't renew. If I have the time and energy I'll check out the other locations in comparison.

I felt a bit intimidated on my first day, but was greeted enthusiastically by Carrie & John (Trainer Supervisor), who walked me through everything. My first class was Strength Training (I can’t remember the name) and it was a whirl of instruction & changing out equipment (hand weights, bars, platforms etc), but my classmates were very helpful. I really enjoy the water aerobics with Ginger, it is actually quite a workout!

I also started with a trainer, but I would have liked to try more of the machines, practicing less reps at each station until I’m on my own with more time than a training session allows. Not a complaint, just a suggestion :)

The facility itself is top notch. Great equipment, awesome staff that will help you..., BUT their policy they won't tell you about is that after you pick your plan, ie month to month, one year, or three years is after it's done they automatically put you on month to month and if you wish to end the membership, you have to give them a 30 day notice which allows them to get one more month of payment. That's dirty business, it's greedy business and I can't do business w/ companies that practice these kind of policies if I can help it. Just think you should know before you go.

My experience at National Fitness Center here in Morristown has been absolutely fantastic! The facility is always clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. The overall gym is great. But I have asked for assistance on canceling my membership due to a deployment and being out of the country. Billing would not freeze my contract or even discount the rate. Meanwhile I’m gone for a year and get to eat the payment for equipment I can’t even use. Don’t sign a contract here they don’t care about their members.

National fitness Center is such an amazing gym with its cleanliness and the staff that makes you feel at home.
I highly recommend the childcare after being at home with my children for two years, they were the first people that I’ve let watch my kids and I’m forever grateful for them they will treat your children so kindly they will even get on the floor and play with them and are so excited to see your children when walking into the child care.
The general manager, Chad is an amazing help he is someone who will go above and beyond for the members at the gym.
I would highly recommend this gym to anyone!

I signed up to National Fitness in January and absolutely love it. It is not only a great community of people but the amenities are also amazing. Just giving a honest review but if your looking for a gym I highly recommend morristown landing instead I used to love this gym. But I fell behind on payments due to a suicide attempt a couple years ago and I wasn't able to catch up. This isn't my real name I never use my real name online but anyways. Basic math you can pay approximately 500$ for a year at morristown landing. With national fitness center they was going to try to charge me close to 3,000$ to rejoin. The only difference between national fitness center and morristown landing is there's no sauna or hot tub other than that it's practically the same thing and non predatory. The contract at morristown landing is I believe only a year with national fitness center its a 36 month contract. I mean it's my fault I fell behind but 3,000$ is much for a gym. If it weren't for that I'd still be here but morristown landing is more understanding. And they do alot for the community.

I’ve been attending this gym for approximately 4 years. The staff is great to work with and the personal trainers are excellent, Mason is the bomb extremely encouraging as all the staff are. I’ve lost approximately 155 pounds with the help of the gym. My only negative is the pool is definitely not heated as well as it should be in the winter.

Did not honor one day guest pass to check out the gym. I explained to the sales specialist i would be coming back for a military course for a couple months and wanted to check out the gym to know if i would sign up for a monthly pass in the future. The gentleman repeated i can show you around or you would have to pay for the day. If you go to the gym you know there is a difference between walking around and seeing the gym and working out there for the day. Not sure why they would turn down potential business. To be clear nobody was rude, they were respectful. I am not here to bad mouth anyone however the situation could’ve been handled differently in my opinion. It sucks they would not honor the pass.

We LOVE this gym! We have been going here for 3-4 years. They have all the equipments/weights you need for your fitness journey along with the best childcare for our kids! Their management is excellent. We have tried many other gyms in town and some are good but they are just not as good as NFC! I’m updated my review since it’s been a long time that we had any issues. We recently upgraded our membership and it has been a lot better for my boyfriend to swim laps. My boyfriend and I love coming to NFC. I’m giving 3 stars because the swimming lanes are typically full of kids or people just standing around. There should be a sign up saying the swimming lanes are for swimming laps only. It’s pretty annoying we pay $50 a month and can’t use the facility properly because people don’t respect the fact the lanes are for swimming laps. We leave early all the time because of this issue.

Really good gym equipment and amenities, its just really expensive if you want to bring a friend. I have a friend who comes into town maybe once every 4-5 months for a couple days and if i want to bring him in each day pass is 20$, we normally dont come here while he is town we go to a gym down the street with the same equipment but free day passes and charges 5$ for a day pass. For how much it cost monthly the hours kinda suck, most gyms stay open later on weekends but it closes early on saturday and very early sunday most weekends i have to go to another gym. It would be nice for the price if they stayed up later even if un staffed and tou could scan your membership card to get in

Horrendous for hidden fees for almost everything! You cannot get out of your contract until you provide proof of move and permanent job change from over 20 miles of any of their facilities (and they are everywhere so that’s almost impossible to do). So you will be in your contract for no less than 3 years with the monthly payments, the yearly fees and then all the other fees that they don’t care to mention. And then in the tiny fine print, they state they won’t even remind you of when your contract is up and they will continue to charge you until you send them a written request to cancel even though the contract has ended according to whatever specifications they have. Oh and if you change the way you pay then they can charge you additional fees every month. So that means if your card gets stolen and you have to get a new one bam another fee on top of the already ridiculous prices! Which was different than what we were told when we signed our contract. We were told that if we changed the payment from a card to bank draft it would be cheaper each month, so that’s a lie.
If I could go back in time and not sign a contract with them I definitely would. I would honestly rather deal with an aggressive used car salesman every day for the rest of my life than deal with NFC and all of their BS ever again.

I spent a couple weeks considering getting a membership here instead of Planet Fitness. I had some concerns about how strict the cancellation policy was, but ultimately, for the plan I chose there were shorter term options that were still reasonably priced.

Jason Hunt was the representative I worked with over the course of my consideration and took the time on a few occasions to go over the plans, terms and pricing with me. He was extremely professional every time we met, and it was these interactions and a brief conversation I had with the manager that ultimately cemented my decision to enter into an agreement with this club.

The other employees I've interacted with have demonstrated the same degree of professionalism and the trainer that conducted my new member orientation was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Avoid this place like the plague. The swimming area is constantly dirty. There is slime growing in the steam room along with cracked tiles. The kids classes arent coordinated and have kids running around with no direction. I was sold on this gym because they have childcare and activities for children. They do not tell you that you'll be locked into a three year contract, that the services they provide are awful, that they don't even have the money to add any slides, pools or diving boards and they purposefully keep the air conditioner up to save on money. I was spending over 120$ a month on absolute junk. The equipment is old, the staff turnover is insane, the employees look tired and the manager hides in his office. Join any other gym.

I paid $140 for my child 6 swim lessons, On our way two different times I get a call oh we are going to have to cancel swim lessons for today. I understand things come up, but this past Tuesday I had to cancel I had no other choice and I hated to because my son has really enjoyed it, but when I cancel I am told oh that is fine but that will count has one of your times. So instead of having two more times we now only have one. Makes a total of 5 lessons. So its perfectly fine for you guys to cancel but if I had to then it counts as one of my times!!

I've toured this gym multiple times and would love to join. Their equipment and amenities are top notch! However, I've heard horror stories of the yearly contracts and hidden fees it steers me away. If you're already a gym junky and plan on working out for years and years sign up for sure. If you are like me and trying to get your feet wet to loose weight don't go here. Honestly a great gym. pretty much all the amenities you could ask for. Love the pool. and the theater cardio room. really cool concept and its easy to get in a groove and get distracted while doing cardio in there. The Basketball court is nice and they have plenty of machines so its rare if you are ever trying to use the same machine as anyone else. Overall very good. A couple of things:
When you sign up they give you a free fitness assessment that turns into a sales pitch for personal training. I get that its a the best way to advertise for it but the trainers are a little pushy on it.

Very very bad at informing you about important information. I would recommend not going at all unless you love to lose money. My contract ended and i was not notified that even if your contract has ended that they will still deduct until you come in person to end it. They will NOT inform you about it until maybe one day you check your bank. I talked to customer service in the billing department and she was not well informed or anybody there. I ask for proof or in the policy where it states that there will still be a deduction regardless if your contract has ended. They will not call or e-mail you. They will just deduct more and more until they cannot get you credit card information. Such a disappointment and here I thought they was the best or that the reviews was a lie.

The GM Chad is extremely deceitful and dishonest. Told me when I signed that they didn’t have anything shorter than the 3 year contract when in reality they had a much shorter, year-long contract available. Honestly so disrespectful. Fast forward 3 years and a buddy says he wants to join with me so I inquire about upgrading my membership without having to resign. So one of the members goes out to talk to Chad and when she returned she told me it would only cost me $15 more dollars a month to bring a buddy, no strings attached and with the option to opt out anytime. Not bad, right? Wrong. Tuns out they charged me $33 EXTRA every MONTH! Not $15, but $25 for the add-on, plus an additional $8 as a “convenience fee” for being able to opt out anytime. The staff there are friendly, the facility is kept very clean, the equipment and pool are great, but the dishonesty of the manager and some of the staff truly ruins what could have been an amazing experience at the Morristown location.

Recently I suffered a lower leg fracture ,( both bones and dislocated ankle) needless to say
a pretty traumatic injury. My medical team was amazed at how well I recovered. For the past 2 years my wife and I have attended a gentle cardiac conditioning class 3 times a week at Nation Fitness Center. For a 72 year old man I believe that my recovery of this injury was hastened due to this class at NFC. Thanks Chad and National Fitness Center.

I have had a membership here for about 5 years now. While I do enjoy this gym because it is more spacious I do have an issue with the additional fees for improvement purposes. I have recently discovered that those fees go into a pool and go to whichever national fitness that the company decides to invest in. While I have not been to the signature club in Knoxville, I am told that is where a lot of the money goes. That being said, this gym still does offer some GREAT equipment and a good environment to work out in.

Great place to workout if you have a friend dumb enough to sign the 3 year contract and you wanna see/hear men make groaning and growling noises for attention. The sauna is nice....when it actually works. The pool has enough chemicals in it to remove flesh. The manager is a through amd through salesman...promises the world to get you to sign...tells you none of the negatives...then cant be bothered to talk after you're a member.

National Fitness is a great gym, however I wish that they would lower the jets in the hot tub. There are times when I do not want to get my hair wet, but for some reason they say that they cannot be lowered. I also wish that they would open the fitness room back up to the public instead of just the VIP members. I really enjoyed doing my leg exercises in there because I had a lot of room a more privacy. Now I have to find whatever open space is available out on the floor. I also wish that they would fix the door in the sauna because it never closes all the way.

National Fitness has always been a good gym to me . I began with them when they first opened and had to cancel my membership for a while . I just recently started going back as of last year and they are much better than before , everything needed to obtain a healthier and more fit lifestyle is there . If your not serious about getting in shape then the cost per month might seem pricey to you , if you are committed to your health and fitness then you will find the monthly cost is pretty much worth it . The front desk agents are great , very friendly and are always willing to help you out .
