I just made my membership with planet fitness a couple days ago went today October 6th at about 5:20 to the Elizabethton location to work out with me and my Fiance and we hade are toddler with us and were told not even five minutes being in the door that we could not be there bc of are toddler but per your policy posted online it says “minors/children are not allowed to be left unattended while parent or guardian is working out “. we hade no intention of leaving him unattended we were going to simply take turns working out and attending to him but didn’t want to be alone . The women up front were not nice at all they were to busy talking to some other women about and let me and my Fiance sign in and tell us how to with a attitude like it was burden for the to assist a first time customer and then inform us right before we get done setting up the guest login that we can’t be there . Very terrible first impression of planet fitness

This is my favorite Planet Fitness. It is kept very clean and the people who work there have always been very nice and friendly. I always feel welcome here and especially enjoy the black card spa. The hydromassage will make you feel like jelly. It’s such a nice way to relax and unwind.

Love the choices of workout equipment, a selection of regular and hydro massage chairs, tanning beds and a beauty station, also another thing to mention is how clean Pam keeps it and a huge thank you to kelvin, the manager that helped me with some technical issues involving my membership, he had me through with the member ship and out there working out in no time, and anytime I had questions they were eager to answer. Friendly people with zero judgement, for anyone who’s trying to better themselves in a friendly environment, this is the place to start!

Received a job assignment out of town in a location that doesn’t have planet fitness. Went in to cancel my membership (planned on returning when I got back into town). Initially the lady that was helping me at the front desk was very nice, very casual, “oh yeah no problem what’s your phone number so we can pull up your account”. Out of nowhere one of the other employees there, some guy in a yellow shirt, chimes in and starts making comments “Are you cancelling bro? Why are you cancelling? Wow good luck bro”. It was one of those it’s not what you say but how you say it moments. Very condescending, not sincere, and the lady was already helping me, why chime in with comments? He needs serious customer service training. Made me feel very uncomfortable and will no longer be returning to this gym when I’m back in town.

I’m a over the Road truck driver. I get the pleasure to be able to go to planet fitness all over the United States. I had the most awful disrespectful , humiliating experience at this location👎🏽.. I been a member for 4 years with planet fitness , it was an issue at my home GYM processing a payment in Michigan for past due balance of $40 and they wouldn’t let me work out even if I paid the $20 for one day. They refuse to let me work out as a member. All I can think of is racial profiling. I’m glad I don’t live in this area felt like I was in a Different world. 🤮

If at all possible, do not set up for auto renewal because when you cancel if you are within, I don’t know five days of the renewal process even for an annual fee. They will take the money and they will not give it back even if you’ve canceled your membership and have no intentions of using their services for the year, they’ll still take your annual fee and they won’t give it back.

Billing problems first month. Charged a late fee when I had put all my information in. Management took off late fee thank you. But I joined January 2nd and already 5 days late on bill January 22. When I joined it says $. 25 a month and it hasn’t even been a month yet? Now my next bill is already due February 17th. If I joined on the 2nd my bill should always be due on the 2nd

Well when I signed up in November I was charged twice. Wasn't given any notification that I was going to be charged twice within a week. Charged me for December and now two weeks later they charged me $49.99 without no notification of nothing when I signed up. So I will be canceling planet fitness in Elizabethton. Clean gym and decent equipment for planet fitness. Unfortunately, i did have a manager come over during a lift and ask me to set the 75lbs dumbbells down softer during incline chest press. I let go of them as close to the bottom as possible due to risking shoulder injury by riding them all the way to the bottom in a gym due to the nature of incline chest press.

She was relatively nice about it, but it very much rubbed me the wrong way as 1. The person respectfully could not and has not lifted that weight in that exercise. 2. Interrupted me in the middle of my set. 3. Effectively had me change up how to properly disengage the dumbbells at the end of the set, risking potential shoulder injury.

Smaller than the JC location, but not bad. It was mostly empty at the time I went in, which was nice because I was super nervous. The staff were friendly and the gym was really clean. I'll be making this my home gym for quite a while.

Edit: I've been quite a few more times, definitely prefer this location. Everyone on the staff says hi and bye, and I feel so much more comfortable working out here.

Great gym great location , awesome people . For the most part . However today as I was lifting , a guy beside me had his equipment break loose from where it was locked in . I let out a woo that could be heard throughout the cardio center . I was approached by KELVIN THE MANAGER with a “you good “ ? I said yes I am , why do you ask , he then said , “well your screaming “ which I was not . I then approached the desk where he was and asked what rules I broke so I could understand and not do it again . He said “why are you up here man, what do you want , you just came up here to make a scene “. I again said , I’m just asking what rules I broke for you to approach me . He then said “did I say you broke any rules ?” I then tried to shake his hand and he would not shake my hand as he “had work to do “ . The situation was very confrontational and was not welcoming to be a part of Planet Fitness. Only complaint is Kelvin’s attitude towards me

So I normally go to the JC location, but due to renovating the tanning beds the other location I was told to go to was Elizabethton. And I have to say I'm highly displeased with the service I have received there. First off, I would like to say that they offered me terrible service from the jump. They stated my account was past due when I've paid on time each mo.. mind you the JC location said that was incorrect so once clarifying the payment issue. Upon entering I was told my hub couldn't work out as a "bring your friend" .. each time I go the people act like it's the end of the world I want to tan.. another thing they close at 9pm on a Friday?? That's the craziest stuff I've heard. I highly recommend the kpt or JC location.. I'm screaming please remodel so I can go to JC where they are super friendly and know their regulars.. I also noticed the JC tanning bulbs get you darker. I've tanned 3x and don't see any results VS the jc tanning bulbs. This is my experience!

Love it here. Staff are awesome and the facility is super clean. I’ve been going consistently since January of 2023 and have lost 75lb and still working on my weight loss journey! I’ve been to the Hamilton Place location (in Johnson City) a few times - a perk of the Black Card membership - and while I do prefer the “darker” environment there and the fact they still have a place to hang your keys (this was removed from the Elizabethton location, for some odd reason…), I much prefer the Elizabethton location for the Staff and it doesn’t seem as heavily populated.

Great gym, very good equipment and friendly staff. I would’ve given 5 stars with the exception of a few small things. 1. Lack of scales throughout the gym. 2. I have never been asked by or offered any kind of personal training by the staff even though it is included in my membership. 3. The 30 minute express workout area is intended for those who are doing the workout and no one else. There are even signs. This is not monitored by the staff and definitely not enforced. Every workout I have done in that area is interrupted by some person who wants to hop on a machine in there and do 4 sets. This is not acceptable and should be focused on. Either enforce the rules or take the signs down so everyone can use that area. All the machines in that area can be found in several other areas of the gym and those folks should be made aware of that. I have spoken to staff in several occasions about this and they seem empathetic at the time but nothing has been done. Maybe give folks that want to use that area a pin or a wrist band to ensure that they are allowed in that area. Simple, plastic washable and it would curb the issue as long as staff monitors the area.

They make it real easy to sign up online. But, you will have to go to the club in order to cancel. So forget about cancelling online.Called the gym and asked to cancel as well, nope gotta come to the gym. Sent 2 emails to corporate requesting cancellation and that was a complete waste of time as well. Now why do you think this company requires a trip to their facility to cancel? I've never used my membership since signing up 3 months ago. Also, NO longer a 24hr gym.

I've just been a member for a couple of weeks. I have enjoyed it alot. I had to do chemo recently and it weakens your tendons and ligaments. My chiropractor
recommended for me to workout to help rebuild and strengthen them. I can already tell a difference and can see my body changing. And I do feel stronger. I'm excited to go get an adjustment and let him see the changes in me. And another bonus my energy is coming back. YAY! Thank you.

I was a member in Johnson City PF before I moved to Elizabethton and started going to their PF. The one complaint I have is that its not 24 hours, but we still have to pay full price? If a business isn't open 24h like its other franchise locations then shouldn't they be charging less? Its like paying for car but only getting to drive it in the day. At least they could stay open to 10 or eleven on weekends instead of closing at 7.

The gym itself is pretty good and staff is great/very friendly. I got the membership because I thought all planet fitness centers were 24hrs, guess I was wrong. I hate their hours of operation, especially Friday being the odd man out with the days of the week. I’ve got two young kids and have to work around other people’s schedules to go to the gym. I go in the evening so they’re asleep and my parents don’t need to do much while watching them and hubs is at work. Definitely not my forever gym, for that reason and I’d like one with free weight squat rack/larger weight capacity on equipment. I’d cancel now but they’ve charged me two annual fees in the 6 weeks I’ve had the membership so I’m gonna get my moneys worth. Also, why two annual fees when it’s an ANNUAL fee!? Most of it’s my own fault for not investing further before signing up for this specific gym location.

I’m a member of the Johnson City location! I came here to simply for a change! There has always been a issue with my account AS FAR AS AUTO PAY, but you can clearly see I paid my dues on the June 22,23 and don’t get paid til July 6,23! My bank screws up the automatic payments so I come in and pay it in person! I was due 1 payment the guy at the counter wouldn’t let me work out! He DIDNT even try to call JC branch or ask me anything regarding my account! He just told me I couldn’t workout! Where’s the customer service? HE HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME TO COME BACK AND I SAID “I WONT”!
No EFFORT to see what’s up! Just told me I wasn’t welcome until I paid! I DROVE BACK TO JC AND WORKED OUT WITH NO PROBLEM! They should at least hear the customer out and call their home gym! Really not impressed with the Johnson City location. They badly need a facelift and from what I can tell, their equipment is older versions than other Planet Fitness locations I have been to. Glad it's only $10 a month. Women's locker room usually has cleanliness issues too. And the place is usually packed between about 5pm to 6pm most evenings during the week.

I'll continue to use this location because it's the only one that's convenient to both home and work for me and you can't beat it for the price. But I do wish they would at least keep the locker rooms clean.
