The gym itself it’s great . Management is a different story. In August, I paid for my annual fee during this time I upgraded to a black card member so I can go to all locations and then I downgraded because I stopped going to school. Once I downgraded two months later, they charged me again for my annual fee and asked me to come in to pay it and then the same day that will return it so they can clear the system . Starting off I thought this was weird because I shouldn’t have to pay something and then have them return it. Talk to Colin over and over again and he says he’s taken care of it and this time I asked for proof of the refund and they say they can’t provide that. another red flag. So I decided to cancel my membership. Now Colin is on vacation and nobody can help me. There’s not even a number I can call to get help.

At sign up they only took my name and money, did not give me any kind of explanation about anything, but an "you're all set" its all i got. 7months later i went to cancel my subscription and made it a pain .... Had to pay $50+ just so i could get my credit card out of their system. Staff was horrible.

Dirty worn out tanning beds did a full 9 minutes in a stand up and never broke a sweat. The bulbs never really worked and cut off after about 2 minutes had to restart. The employees were nice however if you're going to tan you might want to check someplace else out
UPDATE: the cleanliness has been stepped up and the bulbs are all current and working.

Man, let me just say this Planet Fitness is on point! 💯 The gym was immaculate… Floors shining, equipment spotless, not a wall stain in sight. Showers? Super clean. Place had a nice quiet vibe too, even though the staff was loud on the cleanliness. Even the guests was respectable when it came to wiping down equipment.

Location is clutch, Big Axx lot with easy parking, so I can get my workout in, hit the showers, and slide straight to my meetings fresh. 🙌 😎

Big ups to the crew here, y’all really got this spot running smooth. Definitely one of the cleanest and most convenient Planet Fitness locations I’ve hit! 🔥💪

The Planet Fitness was closed for a whole month for renovations.

When they finally reopened there was no notification or email indicating that they were reopened.

Additionally, before the renovations they had two adductor machines, two abductor machines, and two leg press machines. Now they only have two adductor machines, zero abductor machines, and only one leg press machine. I haven't noticed what else is missing because I've only been back a couple of times since they reopened.

It would be nice if they had a hip thrust machine too like the Planet Fitness in West Nashville. Especially now they basically have almost nothing for glute development.

It also would have been nice if they gave everyone a free month of membership considering all of the other Planet Fitness gyms are a considerable distance away.

It's disappointing to wait a whole month for the gym to be worse than before. Definitely considering terminating my membership and following some of my friends to other gym franchises.

Had a knee replacement, called the Hermitage gym and asked 'How should I cancel' and was told I had to come in to the gym. I was ambulatory some weeks later and went in and canceled. Hours later my bank was hit with a $50 annual fee. I called the gym to get a refund and was told that my request for a refund for the annual fee had to come from "corporate". I called billing and they said refunds were "at the discretion" of individual gyms. Jesus. I called back and got the manager and retold my story and he basically said the contract said "no refunds". Why would a business contract have a "no refunds" policy unless they were in the business of ..... just keeping refunds. The manager could have refunded me the fee according to "corporate". He just didn't wanna. Find another gym. .... It's now Aug 1st and just heard this gym was going out of business.

I just switched here, very impressed. Way better than my old PF location. Layout makes sense, more spacious, higher capacity for machines. Music is much better than usual and it’s played QUIETLY which I love. Way better for those with sensory issues. Docking an imaginary 0.25 star for the floors being bubbly.

Visited on my birthday. Lots of room for semi parking while working out. I also went next door to bowling alley to celebrate after my workout. Stayed the night but Parking lot patrol 😆 had an issue with me in the am. The locker room was very clean and well kept. The machines are well maintained and there are plenty. Unless I missed something, the heavest dumbells are only 75lbs. The showers are small, and the hot water didn't last long.

Great people, nice place to just be yourself and work on whatever you like. Is there anyway to get curlbars heavier than 60lbs? I'm old school I like the bars not the machines, maybe even a curlbar with some plate weights or something like that. I appreciate the consideration. I'm there literally everyday.

Very unfortunately in spite of having freeze on the account, they debited account. They did not give proof of Freeze on the account which was done with personal visit. Bank asked for proof which they did not give and also not used the facility from the time account frozen and cancelled. The Owner assured if I write to this branch all will be taken care of but nothing took care. Don't give your credit and debit card to them. Most undeserving, unsuitable club to join. BEWARE.

My wife and I are on a road trip across the U.S. and will be posting reviews for the Planet Fitness locations we will be visiting. This is PF #7 we have visited. Unfortunately, this location has been on the bottom of our list so far:

1.) Staff Friendliness: 5 stars
2.) Equipment availability: 1 star (first location that did not have resistance bands, foam rollers and Bosu balls available that I personally use for my workout routine)
3.) Excercise Room Cleanliness: 5 stars
4.) Locker Room Cleanliness: 4 stars
5.) Showers: 1 star (too small, not clean and no way to escape shower curtain that waves towards you when hot water is turned on. My wife did not have hot water, I did)

Can you please buy the staff a vacuum that doesn't sound like screaming outta a horror movie? My friend and I come a couple 3 times a week and lately they've had this terrible vacuum out making the worst God awful noise while we're trying to work out. Just as a warning, they’ve been unable to cancel my membership after attempting to cancel in person, online, and over the phone customer service. My billing just went through another month because they can’t do anything. I could be paying $25/month for a gym I don’t go to anymore for the next year, and they show no signs of urgency to fix the issue. I’ll take this down if they issue a refund and cancel my membership, but until then, know that it could happen to you!

Let me start by saying the boy working the front desk was very kind. I tanned here on 7.10.24 in bed 3. The bed had a white film on it which I wiped down before & after using. The bed was extremely outdated, functions do not work, the bulbs are overdue to be changed & the room was hotter than hell, I was literally sweating the ENTIRE TIME I couldn't finish the session. I rarely sweat but there was a puddle of it when I got up. If I wanted to get hot & sweaty when tanning, I'd tan outdoors in my pool on a raft where it would be MUCH cooler & actually relaxing. In comparison to my hometown PF in Cape Girardeau, MO, there is none. The franchise should be ashamed of this locations supposed amenities being offered, a company inspection is long overdue bx sadly, it's a lazy misrepresentation of the brand.

Please fix your hot water system for the womens showers! After my workout I rinse off and for the last month it is either freezing cold with no hot water at all or it burns the life out of you when a toilet is flushed. It don't feel to great!

Did a walk through last week to see if I wanted to keep my PF membership since Madison is no longer open 24 hours. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. I only use PF on weekend nights since I switched working out to TrueFIT and they aren't 24 hrs on weekends.
So Friday May 31st I went and worked out here for the first time.. again I work out in the middle of the night. I couldn't believe I was in a gym and as old as it is. It was spotless, and equipments shined. I couldn't believe there was no equipment laying all over the place. I had to say something to the guy maintaining this store. His name is Zac (probably spelled it wrong), and he thanked me and was happy to hear that. He truly takes pride in his job.
Too bad the area and regional managers don't even care as much as this employee does. Total Kudos to Zac and the staff at the Hermitage PF.
The other managers at all the stores around Nashville need to learn from this store in how to run a great gym. Only issue I saw was 1 homeless man, but compared to the other locations. They kept them inline and respectful of the establishment..

Bad part at end

I've only been to the gym here 4 times now. I'm new to working out at a gym and I'm quite satisfied with the instructions on the equipment and the overall cleanliness of the facility. There's an older lady who works night shift, I don't know her name, but she's incredibly friendly and always offering to help or explain things. HOWEVER there's a man named Robert who works early in the morning who is incredibly inattentive, condescending , rude, and doesn't seem to know how anything works. I couldn't buy any lotion or towels because he says the computers shut down at 3 a.m. it was a bit before 3 but fine. I came in next time a little after 2. He said "well maybe it's 2 or 3 that they shut down" It's incredibly frustrating and he laughs about it and doesn't care. He's the only downside to my visit

Want to give a special shout-out to Vivian. She always welcomes and says good-bye even with a smile. She’ll be vacuuming and the only one there sometimes and she still greets folks and welcomes them in. She’s the staff person I always see wiping windows quickly and going the extra mile. Give her a raise and an opportunity to move up if she wants it because she deserves it! Had to ask her her name today since they don’t have name tags - I’d recommend name tags for sure for staff.
