I really enjoyed the free class I took. However, I had an AWFUL experience with a member of staff after the class and managers afterward.
I was purposefully misled into buying a recurring subscription instead of a simple 10 class pass. I had also shared that I was newly postpartum and didn't want to take on too much yet to further emphasize my POV. After I asked repeatedly to make sure this wasn't a subscription, months later charges began to appear on my card. I was so surpised that I thought my bank details had been compromised and ordered a new card.
After I politely explained what happened to a different manager, I was met with hostility. Although the class itself and the coach were lovely, the staff and leadership seem shady at best.

If you're thinking "I want to try Row House, but I don't know if it'd work with my (injury/illness/disability)", I'd encourage you to give them a try. I have a neurological condition that causes significant issues with the regulation of my heart rate and body temperature, and the coaches are so encouraging and accommodating. I take more breaks than the average person might and am never judged for it. I bring various items to help keep me cool and have been encouraged to continue doing so. I ask for modified versions of movements when I need them, and the coaches are always ready to walk me through them.
I'd encourage anyone to try one class at least - it's free, so you might as well!

It’s now been 4 years for me at Row House Sylvan Park, the most consistent I’ve ever been with any excercise program. I still feel the same about the staff and our members. Everyone is really supportive and it’s a fantastic workout!

I actually really enjoy the rowing classes.
I typically don't go to classes because I always feel you have to be in shape before you even get in shape. This is not the case here. You can be at any fitness level.
The instructors are super helpful and 45 min actually goes by really fast. It is a great workout!
I also love that you can pick the same time, day and the type of rowing class changes vs you have to select a different day.

Row house offers a great community setting for wellness and fitness. They cater to all wherever they are in their fitness journey. The staff is incredibly kind and supportive. The location is amazing ( love sylvan supply!) and the parking is free (scan to "pay" for free 2hour parking)

I have only attended a few classes so far but it's been a great experience. Gianna and Lindsey were very encouraging for a new rower. The workout was very intense but staying insync with Lindsey helped me push through the hard parts.

Typically when I'm choosing a gym I consider the three Cs: cost, comfort, and convenience. Despite being more than double the cost of my previous gym and more than 20 minutes away from my house, RowHouse Sylvan Park is by far the best gym I have been a part of. How comfortable I am within the space and with the staff is the primary reason I committed to this membership. The One Boat mentality creates a team identity within each class that motivates you to compete against yourself and how you are feeling for of the good of group. If you are just getting started I highly recommend taking a class with Coach Sara. She does an excellent job of making jargon accessible. (I am still secretly convinced erg is a made up word.) She explains the why behind the rules and is an encourager from the front of the room. If you were looking for the best DJ at RowHouse then I highly recommend taking a class with Coach Kristen. You'll forgive her for assigning a 2-minute sprint because you will be more focused on singing along to that song you haven't heard in 3 years. Her playlists are fabulous and her stories are hilarious. So when you break out in sweat, you'll be more entertained than drained. Her interval classes keep your heart rate up and you'll be surprised at how much she can pack into a 45-minute class. And if you ever just want to get wrecked one night, then I'd recommend taking a class with Coach Shannon. You'll definitely walk away with quaking quads and occasionally some noodle arms but you won't forget your workout for the next few days, that's for sure. All in all, RowHouse Sylvan has been such a lovely space for me these past few months to recommit to my personal fitness goals in an environment that has been so positive and fun, while still providing high intensity workouts.
TLDR: It is worth the money and the drive because the people are nice and the philosophy behind the workouts is communal.

I've been working out at Row House since 2021, so it is probably time to write a review! I have taken classes with most of the coaches there, and I have a great experience every time. They are energetic and funny and have the best playlists ready for the class, which sometimes makes me forget that I am in an intense booty-kicking workout.
I love the community that Row House has built up by not only supporting its coaches and members but also having Row House meetups and fun events for everyone to come join together and mingle. The rowing challenges are also a pretty fun way to get everyone on board.
One thing I will say is that sometimes I go maybe a little toooo long between classes, and when that happens I can guarantee that Lindsay will reach out to me to see how I am doing. It's nice to see that level of dedication from a coach and urges me to get myself back into some classes!

If you’re looking for a sign to try…. Here it is! I’ve been coming to row house for a full year now and I love it. Im in my early 20s and grew up a competitive athlete so I crave a challenging class and coach that’s eager to push me and encourage me to really get out of my comfort zone. I’ve tried a lot of other workouts (orange theory, title, bodyrok, SoulCycle) and I grew bored and felt unfulfilled leaving class but with Row House classes have gotten harder as I’ve understood technique and split rates. The coaching staff is amazing, kind and FUN people who make class super enjoyable and continue to push me to hit new PRs! Rowing is one of the most effective workouts yet is still low impact. Class styles differ, some involve weights, body weight exercises and floor work, so no two classes are the same or repeats! Genuinely love this place, the workouts and community. Could not recommend more!

I tried Row House for the first time using the 7 days for $7 special and I absolutely love it. First, the staff was SO welcoming and supportive. I honestly can't say that I have ever received such a warm greeting or overview from any business. Alyssa was kind enough to show me how to get checked in, where to go, how to find information, and then introduced me to the instructor Gianna who was also extremely helpful. I felt so at ease as a first-time rower and they even had the sweetest personalized note on my rowing machine when I arrived. Alyssa helped me book the rest of my visits during the trial period and I am 100% confident that I am going to sign up once it is complete. Love, love, love this place and the workout is great! Also, two hours free parking in the lot behind with access to a lot of little cute shops, restaurants, coffee, etc. Great location and easy to get to!

After cancelling the membership according to the agreement, Row House related that the cancellation was never received. Michelle then proceeded to share threats in an effort to extract a final payment. Don't join unless you want 3+ texts per week and to be threatened when you want to cancel.

I had no exposure to rowing before I went to row house. I dropped in for my first free class to try it out twenty minutes after I discovered it. It was really easy to sign up, and I love their early morning class options. It’s been a great way to get my cardio for the day with this low impact workout while meeting the intensity level I need to feel like I’m working hard. The coaches are great, and highly recommend this workout.

What a fun, inclusive, and supportive studio! I had never tried rowing before and the instructor was so thorough with setting me up for success that I felt very comfortable with the movements by the end of the class. Modifications were always sprinkled in and everyone was encouraged to do their best whatever that looked like for them. I had an absolute blast! It was also incredibly clean. I've tried so many different studios here in Nashville and this team is the only one that listens to what you're looking for and isn't pushy when it comes to sales. If you're looking to work up a sweat, have a good laugh, and not spend a fortune.. look no further!

Grossly expensive - The facility and people are incredible, however, the prices are what I am giving a low ranking. While the instructor clearly understood form and was quick to help, I can't imagine she is making as much as whoever owns this place. At roughly $17.50-22.50 a class, making each 45m class w/15 approximately $260-$300 for the place - all so someone can motivate me to think happy thoughts while I row? I can literally join a gym and hire a personal trainer to hang out with me WHILE I row for a FRACTION of this price.

I’ve been to multiple types of workout classes in Nashville and was pleasantly surprised by my experience at row house. The studio is immaculate, the staff is incredibly friendly (I was impressed that our instructor Lindsay knew everyone’s name in the class) and the workout is difficult. I especially enjoyed the team element of the class which I find to be nonexistent in other fitness classes that I’ve tried in Nashville. I will definitely be back for more!

I signed up for my first class at Row House Syvan Park. I signed up for the Tuesday 5:45 Margaritaville class with Sara. Everyone was so nice right from the start and very welcoming. They showed me to my assigned rower and got me set up and Sara sat down with me to go over technique. I loved the class and the music. This class was mostly rowing. We did stop and do some stretching which I definitely needed. Sara was encouraging to everyone during the entire class. I will definitely be back for more classes here.

Do you like being harassed before and after you try a new gym, well then boy have I got the place for you! (Admittedly, harrass may be a strong word but the number of communications from them to me was well into the double digits consisting of calls, emails, texts - after I had already signed the waiver and completed all the info online AND after I told them I would not be back).
Stop with the emails and texts already!
The workout was fine, having somebody verbally coaching you the entire class is not something I am into and therefore I won't be returning. Simple instructions and queues when transitioning through the paces would have been better for me but I understand some people may enjoy the constant coaching.

I started rowing this year and I have absolutely loved it. It had been several years since I had exercised regularly. I could not recommend this work out more. These classes made me someone who exercises! I love the group accountability, but also love how your numbers are individualized so that everyone's performance in the class is their own. I also love how it's a full body workout, and there's a good mix of strength and cardio. The only thing I wish was different was I wish that at this location there were classes on Sundays and that it didn't close so early on Saturdays!

I’m hooked. The crew at Row House is simply the best. The coaches and staff know you by name, and work with you to achieve your goals. The workouts are 30-45 minutes and super efficient, low impact, and insanely fun! I really get my moneys worth every time I come to class. The community is phenomenal, and I’ve met some really great people who love to cheer each other on and celebrate your wins.
Long story short, my best days start with a workout at Row House. I can’t rate higher than 5 stars, but I would if I could! It’s a must add to your daily routine!

Row House is super welcoming to all! It's a good workout no matter your fitness level. They also offer a variety of different workout classes so you can choose between rowing the whole time or a class that mixes rowing with other exercises off the rower.
I have arthritis in my spine and its a great way to get in a full body workout without overtaxing my spine since its low impact on your joints. I definitely recommend trying out a class if you're at all interested.

I've not trained very much in the last 3 months, I wanted a solution to get back into cardio workouts. I needed something low impact and full body. Row House were able to accommodate and were helpful and enthusiastic towards my goals. I truly recommend this style of training, for overall improvements to fitness, strength, mobility and endurance.

It’s very rare that I find a fitness space I feel welcome in. So rare, in fact, that this was the first time I experienced just that. As soon as I walked in, there was a feeling of community as I saw members being celebrated and cared for, and when I checked in for my class, Abigail at the front desk was incredibly sweet and made sure I knew everything I needed to, including showing me to my ERG, teaching me how to use the machine properly and safely in a way that felt empowering, and introducing me to Ellie, the coach. Ellie then came over to check in and show me the proper stroke form, and explained the metrics I needed to know during the class. As more students filtered in, I saw so many different bodies, including bodies that looked like mine, and I almost cried - I never once felt like I stood out because I inhabit a larger body, and rather, I felt like I belonged. The class itself was awesome!! It very much established pace and goals, but met me where I was (I hadn’t actually worked out in a few years) and let me adhere to my level of comfort. I thought I was done for the first time we stood up to stretch, but funny enough, when we sat back down I was ready to dive back in. The last few minutes of class I was bopping along to the music and actually having fun working out, which I’d never experienced before. After class, Ellie checked back in with all of the first-timers and Abigail talked me through the different memberships to help me find one that would fit my schedule/needs, and I will definitely be joining!! As someone who has never been in a fitness space where I didn’t feel like being fat made me less capable or important, this was a huge departure - I didn’t once feel fat, but I did feel strong. If you’re looking for a welcoming and inclusive space, awesome low-impact fitness, and wonderful people, this is definitely the place for you!!

We call it the "Goldilocks workout" -- not too easy, not too hard, just right. The workouts go by quickly, the instructors are friendly, and the statistics for each workout are fun to track in the Row House app. Rowing itself is also a great overall exercise and has proven beneficial for us in a short period of time.

Having had back surgery a few years ago and arthritis in my knee, I'm very careful with the types of exercises I do. I've been going to The Row House for two weeks (3x a week) and I can say that my back is happy - and so is the rest of me. You can make the workout as intense (or not so much) as you want. The instructors are great. They make sure your form is on point. And if technology is your thing, they have an app that tracks your sessions and progress. Would definitely recommend. 10/10

I tried row house for the first time on a whim. I used to be an avid orange theory- goer but dreaded the rowing block. Needless to say my expectations were low. I was instantly hooked. I absolutely feel revived after each workout. You definitely feel the whole body aching the next day which is a good sign your whole body got what it needed. It’s a team work workout in which everyone in there is rowing as a team, which I love. We are all in this together feeling. No one is better than the other because we are all there with the same purpose. To get the best workout.

I never enjoyed working out until I started going here. The coaches push you to do your best (to get the most out of your workout) and help with technique. I look forward to every class. I was a little skeptical when I first tried a Row House class. I couldn’t imagine how you could actually get a full workout on a row machine. But, man was I wrong! The classes are incredible high energy, power packed 45 minute sessions with great instructors.
The best part of these classes are they are effort based so you can get a great workout if it’s your first time stepping into a gym or if your a life long fitness guru.
I definitely recommend the Row House for anyone looking for a new work out routine.
