Used to work out there with my mom. They started harassing my mother about her owing money which she doesnt. I just saw cops outside the building the other day because they havent paid lease for 18 months! Apparently the owner does this illegal thing all the time. And so many more illegal things. Atmosphere and gym equipment are good. Joe is always kind! Employees sometimes speak and sometimes don’t when you come in. I also had an issue with getting charged after I cancelled my membership. I cancelled in May, knew I would be charged for June because they have a 30 day policy, and still got charged in July. I had to file it with my bank to get the issue resolved. They claim they emailed back about the charges after I sent the notice to them, but did not until I left a review.

I’ve been a runner since 1984 but in 2004 I stopped running consistently and became very out of shape. In 2013, with Travis’ encouragement, exercise programs and running plans I started running again. I complete half-marathons, 5Ks and 10Ks and several 25K trail races. Beware of Billing Issues at Scenic City Fitness!

Ever since this gym changed to Scenic City Fitness, we’ve had recurring billing issues. In December 2024, our account was double-charged. When we addressed it with management, they agreed to either refund us or compensate us by covering January’s membership. However, once January arrived, they charged us again and failed to follow through on their promise.

After another confrontation with the owners, it took over two weeks to receive a refund. Due to these ongoing issues, we decided to cancel our membership at the end of January. That’s when we discovered that their cancellation policy requires a 30-day notice, meaning they would still charge us for another month. They failed to verbally disclose this when we signed the cancellation form, which is extremely misleading. When we requested a copy of the form, they claimed their printer/scanner wasn’t working—another red flag.

Despite officially canceling in January, they charged us again in February. When I called immediately, the staff member claimed they were new and didn’t understand the situation but promised a callback—which never happened. After a week, I called again, and another employee told me the charge was stated in the cancellation form, yet no one had properly informed us.

This gym’s billing practices are highly questionable, and based on other reviews, we are not the only ones who have experienced these problems. If I hadn’t closely monitored my statements, they would have continued overcharging me. Be very cautious and check your billing regularly if you’re a member!

The gym is well laid out . Unfortunately, the mgmnt prefers to aerosolize the air daily with Merk certified disinfectant in 'an abundance of caution' over germs flu bugs etc. they do this with an ionizer and it leaves a wet film on everything. No warning when they do it, and if you're sensitive to chemicals it can trigger athsma, or other health conditions.
Since we breathe heavily when exercising I find this not at all the same as hospital conditions .
They also mop with a cleaner that has a strong odor.
Most of the lockers are broken.
I was kicked out for being disruptive for complaining after three years of hanging on by my fingernails as a member.
No warning just an email after a complaint.
Luckily I'd already joined 24 Workout Anytime a couple miles down the road .

Except I was paying extra 10 a month for the tanning

Yet I'm glad . Because when I arrived at 24 Workout Anytime, I was greeted by other Scenic City ex-members happily, saying 'You made it!'
Because many members have made the switch to 24 Workout Anytime Scenic City took over the Snap Fitness
I still miss a few choice pieces of equipment k was fond of, but I gained so much more

I’ll start by saying I was a member since 2018. I was recently out of town with the military and noticed the gym changed names when I came back. So I went in and tried to exchange my snap fitness card for a new scenic city one. I was informed that I would have to pay 3 months worth of gym fees that they couldn’t collect. When I asked how that is even remotely fair (as I couldn’t even access the gym if I was in town since I didn’t have the fob), I was told I should’ve came in and got a fob if I wanted to go to the gym…. Absolute insanity.

The employee took my current contact information, to include my phone number (she actively typed the info in) It’s true that I didn’t say military, only that I was out of town. As for Netflix or any other service, they don’t lose my subscription information (card info, contact info), change the locks or passwords and accumulate a bill while I’m unable to use the service. I didn’t slam anything or storm out of anywhere. I was calm the entire time and I still have the card that i “slammed down”, feel free to watch your surveillance video. The review is accurate and with the owner replying with multiple lies (I wasn’t contacted once and I didn’t slam anything or act angry) I won’t be deleting it. People need to know what they’re getting.

I was a member of Snap Fitness, which shut down a couple months ago. This new gym thought it was a good idea to try and continue charging me without my consent, even though my membership had been canceled with Snap and I had not renewed any membership with Scenic City Fitness. The owner threatened to send the imagined bill to collections if I didn't pay up.

Seems like they're trying to rope in old members by forcing payments. Pretty shady move if you ask me. If this is how they treat people from the start, I’m definitely not interested in seeing how they run the gym.

Edit: Snap fitness responded to my email regarding this matter and denied ANY affiliation with this gym after terminating their franchise agreement.

Love having access to one of if not the best gym in Chattanooga. A well maintained gym with all the equipment and space to get your swole on, burn some calories, get your heart rate up and even recover. Hydrobed and multi light sauna are game changers that are conveniently included with the membership, not an add on like the other places do.
Personal Trainer services are offered, ongoing classes and honestly the best gym environment one could ask for. Great blend of aspiring gym rats, Meatheads, newcomers, veterans and everyone in between. The owner takes so much pride in Hixson business and is visibly invested 24/7 in making his gym a true success. Get em, Gary!

It’s within walking distance to me. I wish they had senior citizen classes.
Workout 24/7 was terrible . They kept charging my debt card for months even though I told them I couldn’t afford it. Racked up over $600. Tried to get a lawyer and was told my complaint would not be worth it.

So the charges stopped. Now, over a year later we get a letter in the mail saying we owe 500+. We have been threatened with lawyers. I’ve been with this gym for about 2 years, I recently cancelled my membership. It was a good gym, clean, just nice overall. The last few months it’s been just disgusting. There has been pee on the toilet seats, left there for days - a sticky splotch in front of one of the toilets left there for days, hairs etc. The rags that are given to clean the machines off after use don’t seem to be cleaned as often as they should. The same one had been left on the same stair machines for probably around a week, and it hadn’t been washed. I’m not sure what happened to the door but it messed up and was hard to open, and I know for some it wouldn’t open at all. Scrolling through the negative reviews on here and seeing the responses to them just shows me the lack of professionalism with this business. It kind of went downhill, I won’t be coming back.

I have been a member of this gym for some time now, probably 1-2 years now and the cleanliness of the gym has went downhill drastically. 99% of the time the employee on duty is sitting at the desk not paying any attention to their guests (especially after the owners have left).

Also, on a different note.. the door to the facility is either broken or the staff doesn’t lock it when they leave some nights.. 9PM on a weeknight and the door is completely unlocked, sounds like a safety issue to me.

It's really sad when u try 4 different times to get a tanning issue straightened out, And snap fitness staff keeps telling u they will call u back and never do , And u even go in personally still no results card won't work u already pd for 3 months worth , missed 12 days of tanning .The most incompetent owner and staff we have ever dealt with. I have been with this gym for about a year and enjoy it. Sprang the extra cash for use of tanning equipment and it was nice for a while then it just seems like they stopped caring about cleanliness. The stuff in pictures has been there for almost 2 weeks.

I have removed the phots due to your quick response and really hope it’s clean during my next visit. The hours I work prevent me from go to gym at normal times through the day when you or other employees are there.

So I went back and the tanning area was still subpar at best the only thing addressed was literally the things in the three pictures. Not the same tag and other debris laying in the floor for better than two weeks, not the hair on the on/off buttons, not the lint,fuzz,dust ect on the guards over bulbs. Smudges on the mirror still there. I will be going later this week if still unsanitary I will take pictures and post. Stay tuned more to come.

I sent a cancellation form to cancel my membership on October 31st 2020. Both Of the owners claim that they never received it. Luckily I have a copy of what I sent and when I sent it. Yet they are still charging my account. I have been refunded $36 and some change and $6 and some change twice that doesn't make up for the nearly $50 that they take out of my account every month. I would not recommend getting a membership through this company unless you intend on canceling your card when you're no longer interested in the membership. I will change my review when I get a complete refund from unauthorized transactions taking out of my account and they STOP being taken out of my account. I sent my cancellation, I should not have to do your assistance or secretaries job.

BUYER BEWARE: My credit card information changed and rather than call me the day that the first monthly charge was not processed, they instead decided to wait another two months and add on an additional $60 in NSF charges to the bill. Had they had the common courtesy of calling on the first day then the credit card information would have been updated.
