The CrossFit idea is ok, but most attendees do not have the training or experience to attempt most of their exercises safely or competently. Most gyms do not even address form or technique to avoid injury.

I dropped into this gym on a Saturday while I was visiting my inlaws from out of town. Mariela and the other coaches and members are all great! I received very quick responses through email and got a great workout with excellent coaching. I will be returning on future trips!

Great trainers. Great community. Great competition. Always feel exhausted after my workout. I started a few weeks ago and feel like part of the family already. I had never done crossfit before and has been very humbling at first, but the group has encouraged me the whole way. I am so glad I joined Shackle Island Crossfit and encourage everyone else to give it a try. Don't let the bars scare you.

This place is amazing. The people are so nice and you can tell the coach Mariela loves what she does. She is very knowledgeable about the proper lifting movements. It has such a great vibe. This is your one stop shop for getting fit!

This is the best crossfit gym I have ever been to. The gym is huge with plenty of room for big classes. The people here are the best I have ever had the privilege to workout with. The coaches are also fantastic!!

This gym is my home away from home, and everyone one here treats each other like family. The workouts and people may push you, but you will never hear anyone down someone for anything or even act as if they may have come short. I look forward to going in everyday to see what they planed for us that day and when I am unable I fell like I have lost out not just on the workouts but from what is happening with the rest of the people in the gym.

I started with this gym 4 years ago and I can't imagine being anywhere else. The best staff and members you could ask for, well worth the money! The owner and coaches are very motivated, friendly and knowledgeable. I like the atmosphere created by the coaches and motivated members. The facilities are clean, large and well stocked with equipment! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I have been a member of SICF since June of 2014, and can honestly say that this gym has changed my life. Mariela is an incredible coach and friend to all. The community is always so supportive, fun and encouraging. You push yourself and strive to be better each time you walk through the doors. As a mom of 3 little boys, I need to keep fit and be ready for just about anything physically! This gym is getting me there! Our facility is great with so much room and new improvements constantly made. Check this place out! I promise you won't regret it!

SICF has been my home away from home for a several years now. Still to this day there is a team atmosphere! The programming never gets dull and always challenges.
Coach Mariela, and staff are always accessible and conscientious of everyone's level of fitness.
I would never push myself like this and because of this setting, equipment, programming and people, I feel better and stronger everyday!!!

BAM! Our gym specializes in not specializing! We work hard at functional fitness to simply make each of us a better human. A more fit human. We combine strength training, explosive plyometrics, speed training, Olympic- and power-style weight lifting, kettle bells, body weight exercises, gymnastics, and endurance exercise.
Crossfit targets what we call the major components of physical fitness: cardiorespiratory fitness, stamina, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy.

You will not find a better facility than shackle island. The people are awesome they treat you great! And the equipment is top notch as well! If you are looking for a place to drop in or call a new gym home then this is the place to be!

Got the chance to drop in during a trip to Nashville and was amazed by the crew! Huge areas for training and excellent clean facilities. The workout was on a Saturday and was great to do team excercises with people I just met! Coaches are very detailed and approachable. If I lived there, would definitely be a member!

The instructors at this gym are amazing!!! I ran into the instructors and a number of the members at a local spartan race. They allowed me to run with with them, encouraged me and helped me throughout the race. I have not found many gyms that compare in friendliness and helpfulness.
