The Hixson Workout Anytime location has become one of my happy places this past year. The equipment is well cared for, the facilities clean and well attended to, and (most importantly to me) the staff and trainers are amazing. Coach Joe’s enthusiasm and encouragement combine with his knowledge and expertise to make his training sessions fun and enjoyable while remaining challenging and adaptable. The other trainers and staff members are welcoming, kind, and helpful and always greet me with a smile. I’m so glad that Alex signed me up for another year here!

The local gyms are great — clean facilities, good equipment, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the company itself is a nightmare to deal with. Each location only has access to accounts created there, so when I moved from East Ridge to Hixson, I had to either drive 45 minutes to renew my membership or pay a new member fee.

I paid the fee and renewed, but canceling my wife’s membership was a disaster. Even though she’d been a member for over a year, they treated her as “new” and charged a ridiculous cancellation fee — more than just letting the contract run out. When the term finally ended, they still billed us for another month due to their “process.”

In short: great gyms, terrible corporate policies and customer service. If you ever need to move, cancel, or update your account, expect endless frustration and hidden fees.

I have been a member of this gym for many years. I call it mine as I am beyond proud of it! It is full of amazing gym members and staff that help each other out and support the whole gym family. Joe with his out going energetic motivation during his sessions and also his constant support and helping anyone in need out. Ethan with his amazing dedication and member support with his clients. Also he has classes that are amazing and full of life where everyone is always smiling and having fun! Theresa with her kindness and compassion with commitment to seeing everyone better themselves! And her classes are peak when it comes to staying active and getting back your mobility! Canisha’s class is always full of energy and fun! Honestly, I really don't want to give this place a good review since it seems to be growing in membership and that means I may not have a good flow to my workout anymore and may have to wait a bit for what I want to use. So that's my disclaimer of being selfish and not wanting to share this great place haha. I really hope they expand soon and keep growing.

I've been a member for 2 years now. This gym is great. The equipment is well maintained and I've rarely seen equipment remain out of commission for long. The staff, at least the ones I've encountered are great. Shout out to Angela who is always killing it. She is a friendly and hard working staff member who immediately addresses any issues. Example, yesterday (Monday) there was 1 roll of paper towels left from the previous night. I let her know once she arrived and she instantly filled all the dispensers and sanitation bottles (which all seemed empty too). No "Thanks, I'll get to it shortly" but "Thank you for letting me know" and walking that moment to get them restocked. That's customer service and y'all better keep her!! She's appreciated by other regular members as well who I chat with between sets.

I can recall talking with another member who pointed out the fact that this gym lacks the smell of feet that many gyms have. They keep everything clean such as the bathrooms and gym floor. Again, I don't want to recommend this place and see it get crowded but I do hope they continue growing. I'm thankful for the gym and basically everyone there has been good to workout around. Keep a good attitude and be ready to tweak your workout routine when it's busy, but it's a great gym to use.

I have noticed that if Angela is not here, the gym is nasty. I can see when she gets in on Monday how defeated she looks due to the shape that the bathrooms are in after the weekend. Honestly, I hope she is getting paid WELL for what she has to endure in those spaces. I am grateful for her positive demeanor and her care for the members! This gym is not somewhere I’d recommend. The facility is often dirty, with trash left around, bathrooms that smell, and broken machines that take forever to get fixed — if they’re fixed at all.

But what really made me stop supporting this place is how the staff treats people. I personally witnessed them kick someone out after clearly racially profiling them. It was uncomfortable and upsetting to watch. No one deserves to be treated like that — especially not in a place that claims to promote health and community.

Between the unprofessional staff, unsanitary conditions, and discriminatory behavior, this gym is a huge letdown. They need serious changes, from management down.

My new gym home. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The gym itself is clean and set up with any kind of equipment you could want. They even offered a free personal trainer session, which I’m taking advantage of. I already knew I wanted to join but the very accommodating staff took me on an intensive tour of every single part of the gym. They took the time to show me how everything worked and explained all the amenities in detail. I think I’m going to love this new gym home.

Me and my mom recently changed gyms because this was closer to home and a better monthly rate. I have so many good things to say about Workout Anytime and specifically the Hixson location. I like that I can cancel my membership if I need to. Last year I lost my job and I wasn’t able to cancel at my old gym membership. I love all the extra amenities, specifically the massage chairs and tanning beds. I was able to cancel my tanning bed membership and I have everything all in one place. Their equipment is top notch and the place is always very clean. I love the private room for stretching and doing my floor routine. The only request I would ask is for more handheld weights because sometimes I don’t have much time before work and none of the handheld weights are available in the weight that I need. Even having handheld weights inside the private room would be AMAZING! I want to give extra praise to Alex and Justin🙌 They have always been amazing! So kind, very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. They are able to answer any questions I have and are always so accommodating and they always do it with a smile on their face.

I joined this gym about 18 months ago. This has been the best gym experience I’ve ever had. The gym, locker room, and changing areas are always neat and clean. There is a wide variety of equipment and training opportunities. The staff is always courteous and helpful. My husband joined as well. We are both retired, and there are trainers that can gear workouts to seniors. There are also class opportunities. We love attending a functional mobility class twice a week with Ethan that works on strength, mobility, and even works in cardio. I recommend Workout Anytime Hixson to anyone looking for a gym!

As several reviewers have mentioned, the facility has tons of equipment and amenities. The staff keeps the facility reasonably clean. However, my issue is with members that do not wipe down equipment when they are done using it. There are several stations located throughout the facility with disinfectant spray and paper towels, but I rarely (probably less than 20% of the time) see members using them to wipe down equipment. At other workout facilities that I have used over the years, wiping down equipment is standard fare, but not at this one. Even during private workouts with the staff, I have never seen the staff advise members to wipe down the equipment so it seems evident that the staff are not instructed to do so. When I have talked to staff about this issue, they don't seem to think it is a problem. So, if you want to share your bodily fluids (sweat, urine, feces, diseases) with everyone else, then this is your place.

Love this gym. Plenty of equipment and never too busy. It's small square footage but they make good use of the layout and have multiple options. Everything you need and then some. I joined this gym because my son has difficulty sitting still in school and was getting in trouble. Now we lift before school a couple days each week and get only shining reviews from his teachers....unless we miss a few days. Originally, I had him lifting in the garage or running outside, but that was a bit too harsh in December January. This gym gives us a clean, warm, safe place to workout together, bond, and for me to help my boys establish good, healthy habits for later on in life. The showers are nice and I hit the massage chair while my boys shower for school. The management has always been polite and accommodating. Very glad I found this family friendly gym.

One of the worst money hungry gyms in Chattanooga. The gym is under new management and after signing up for a gym membership you are informed there is a $45 pay fee, a $60 service fee, $25 equipment fee, $15 cancelation fee, and many more. In my case the membership was sold as a one month plan to test the gym out no full subscription (or at least that’s what the old management said). After the month was over they hit me with about $90 worth of fees and very rudely demanded the money. Horrible gym. Horrible staff. Planet fitness was better

Workout Anytime (particularly the Hixson location) has been my home gym since early 2019 and for good reason. The staff throughout the years has always been kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Current employee Jeffery has been especially welcoming since the moment he began his employment. He is constantly a smiling face, offering a greeting to anyone who walks through the door. The reason I know you take it is because I have friends that has the same thing through our work and they use one pass to workout at workout anytime we all make over 100k a year working at Norfolk southern. It really irritates me you and your manager said we do take it but it is a process for you to get paid that’s not our fault.

Very nice facility with a wide variety of equipment and amenities, like sauna, red light, hydro-massage chairs and more. My wife and I have always found the staff to be friendly and the entire gym clean. We didn’t used to consider ourselves gym people but working out with Joe (specializes in training older adults) is actually fun and we look forward to our sessions with him.

Workout Anytime Hixson is a great facility! I’ve been a member there over a year and have not ever had any issues. The front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. I’ve noticed since new management has come in that the facility is always very clean. The saunas and premium member area looks better than ever. New management is always looking for ways to improve the member experience, which I appreciate! Thanks for being a great gym with affordable amenities!

I am very glad to have found such a great gym!! The facilities are well maintained and clean and the atmosphere is welcoming. Kirstin is very client focused and Joe is a fantastic coach and both are very approachable and helpful. The terrific range of equipment allows anyone to find a workout that suits their level of ability/fitness and the staff are all focused on helping you reach your goals. Couldn't ask for a better team or a better facility!!

This is probably the biggest and nicest location of the gyms I've been to. Even when busy, it doesn't feel too crowded. Solid equipment, spacious locker rooms, clean showers.

I love this gym and the atmosphere! My biggest complaint is that its 100 degrees outside during these months and the fans are NEVER on at the gym during the months of the summer but always on during the winter?? Doesn’t make sense… I don’t want to be in the middle of my workout and have to find an employee and ask them to please turn on a fan in the middle of the summer, I feel that that should be a given in the south. This shouldn’t be a corporate thing either, if the employees are cold - please provide your staff with adequate attire.

Great atmosphere. Kirsten and Joseph really go out of their way to make you comfortable and help you with all your needs and always happy to answer any questions you may have. They are very professional and knowledgeable of all the equipment in case you need help. My wife,son and I all three have memberships so it's a great thing for the family as a whole to enjoy doing together.

I never had such a disappointment in a business in a long time...she first offered 14 day free trial,then 3 day later called and said they no it's only a 7 day trial ok no big deal...I drove at 12am to workout at night and key fob wouldn't read my card..even trying for 5 mins....I like the gym but sadly it's just scammy and doesn't appear to members in at anytime with is the whole point.i will just going to planet fitness instead because they are more professional and trustworthy....never thought a gym could be this bad in terms of management.

In response to the owner I asked verbally in the store and they said yes so this isn't a miscommunication over the phone...it was just a lie in person that cost me time and money....and you don't even hold up your own word speaks volumes to how this location is ran ....like is a middle schooler running it or adult that understands what you say actually means what you say ....then try to go back on it like it was a miscommunication which it was a direct lie to face....train your employees not to lie to people in the future which just sad thing to say.

What they tell you inside about canceling your membership is not true. They cost me an extra month’s membership trying to cancel. I’ve always heard they were scams but thought I’d give them a try. Not again. Will stay with Gold’s gym. At least they are honest with customers.

And for more information, went in with a workout partner to join. Somehow they put us on two different memberships. When we swapped gyms we both went in to cancel. They cancelled his on the spot and told me I had to come back once I hit a year (about 2 more months) since I had a yearly membership. So after that day I went in and they now said they can’t cancel my membership at the same desk they cancelled my buddy’s membership. So I call and that’s when I was told of an extra month after I “notify” of my intent to cancel. Sure would have been nice to be told that when I was there the first time.

Do NOT go here for personal training unless you can schedule at THEIR convenience , not YOURS. I originally had a great trainer twice a week at 6:30PM that was happy to accommodate my practice. Management wanted training earlier. New trainer couldn't work with my schedule. Some lip service to makeup sessions but hit my account for $360 and kept the funds without offering or suggesting any schedule options that could work. Easy money when you choose not to provide the services you were paid to do.

I was unable to enter the Hixson location on the day I was scouting for a gym because there was no staff available on Sunday morning. The Northshore location does not have parking.

Prospective members need to make an appointment to view the facilities. As a senior who still works six days a week, I needed a more flexible schedule. I assume members get some sort of entry key card. Since I am a woman who prefers to do weight training before work,, a gym that does not have staff available at all times does not sound like a safe environment for me.

I’m so grateful to be trained by Coach Von. He pushes me to and beyond my limits. He’s a big part of my success story, going from 311lbs to 240lbs, from July to now, is huge for me, because I never thought I’d be able to do it, due to being a big guy for 20+years But, with Von’s help and guidance, he has definitely been getting me close to my goal of getting down to 220lbs. I would definitely encourage or recommend others on a weight-loss journey to book with Coach Von. Thank you Coach for everything, I’m still a work in progress, but I’m happy to know that I have you to encourage and push me to be great and not coddling or allowing me to give in when I feel like I can’t. I started working out here in April and hired a personal trainer. The staff is always always friendly and personable. Usually Jamison is at the front desk with her beautiful smile to greet you every day when I arrive. Trainer Joe has to fist bumper and greet you everyday with a great personality. My personal trainer Javon is about that business. He finds out what your goals are and then puts together a plan to help you accomplish that goal every session. He encourages you as well as demonstrates exactly how the technique should be performed. He is straightforward. Disciplined. I am eager to go to class to see what he has come up with to help me reach my goal. I have referred a few people but so far they are not as serious as I am about being fit. I recommend him as a great trainer.

Horrible gym. My fiance got a membership here and maybe went once before getting a concussion at work. She was out of work for about two weeks, and after she recovered wanted to cancel her membership as the staff weren’t very friendly and the place is small anyways. So, they proceeded to charge her over 400 dollars and refuse to cancel her membership. Manager is a word that I won’t include in this review, but steer clear of this place if you want a gym that isn’t ran by a bunch of clowns

I have attended Workout Anytime in Hixson since 2019 and have thoroughly enjoyed it throughout the years (hence my continued membership). Never have been apart of a gym where there is NEVER anyone at the front desk to greet you. Then if you need someone you have to wait about 10-15 minutes before anyone will surface.

I spoke to the Manager (Emily) about mine and my daughter's membership. I am in the process of canceling mine. But my daughter who is a high school student who has barely used her membership was wanting to cancel. I was told by Emily who is the manager and that there was no way she was going to help with this situation.

Called the office in Alpharetta and was told I had to call back to Hixson. I called ABC solutions abd was told the same thing.

So I have decided to just continue to pay fir a membership that WILL NO LONGER be used just so everything for my daughter stays on an even key.

BUT after I finish this review I will be submitting a complaint to the BBB about this just so it's on record.

I gave this location a chance abd their face of this location gave me no options!!!!!
