Compared to other 24HF locations, this one is the cleanest and organized. I'm not one to interact with staff but they seem attentive and take initiative to walk through areas and rerack equipment or restock the sanitation stations. There's always room for improvement though.

I guess the writing was on the wall since the pandemic that this location wasn't going to be kept because all the other 24 hour fitness locations in the area returned to 24 hours but this one never did. They also haven't maintained the machines for months, the AC does not work and the humidity has turned the gym into a mushroom factory. This location deserved better than this. I've been coming to this location for 23 years. It used to be my favorite location and my Fortress of Solitude through life's up and downs. Hell, part of the reason I'm staying in the area was because this location was closeby. With the closing of the Westheimer location a couple of years ago, we are just left with the Richmond location now and there is no basketball courts there so I really hope this isn't a death spiral for 24 hour Fitness as a whole. Meanwhile Planet Fitness is actually looking good.

Why does a "24h fitness" close at 10pm every weekday and 8pm on weekends? The one at galleria (about 10 mins from this one) is open 24h.
Equipment is old but it gets the job done. Pretty bad lighting in the building. Staff and people who workout here seem to be nice tho.

Re-started using this gym after 4 years being out of Houston. Signed up for the personal training, but the lesson has been repeatedly rescheduled w/o sufficient notice (first time, the trainer during the scheduled time just said he cant do it as he had another customer coming - then why double book? second time, we got a phone call 1.5 hours before the actual training slot that the trainer cant make it). When I enquired with the front desk, the response we got was that 'it's something between me & the trainer' - not very helpful, considering the trainer was assigned to us as part the 24 Hour Fitness membership program. Pls re-consider your customer service, as the professionalism and responsiveness to customer concerns are pretty lacking!

This place use to be the one!!!!! But now is nothing but getto,must of the machines broken, arm pads rips,sauna room and steam room broken must of the time!!!!!! Restroom are gross and disgusting,use to be a maintenance and janitor guy back then, now just a few people at front desk ( sometimes)..

First let me start by saying the staff is very nice and pleasant. I can’t say the same for the patrons who workout at this gym. Every time, and I mean every time, I go here all the of the weight benches are in use. Which is ok bc it’s a gym and that’s what happens. However, the people here seem to think they own the equipment and have no interest in sharing. Today was especially bad. When I asked if I could just do one set while someone was using another piece of equipment, the person simply refused to share and got angry at me. It’s just not a very pleasant atmosphere with this hostility. I’ve tried over and over to give this gym a chance, but I keep running into the same problem. I want to keep the membership due to the gym’s proximity to my home, but a few more incidences like this and I can’t justify the cost anymore. I’ve been to a lot of gyms, due to moving a lot, and I haven’t experienced this terribleness and entitlement before. More weight benches might help, too.

I had an appointment to tour the facility, I was greeted by someone at the frontdesk who said they would let someone know I was there. After sitting there for about 30 minutes I just left cause not a single person had yet to come assist me or even acknowledge me there. No one was even at the front desk anymore either so easily could have just walked in and starting working out if I wanted to or take myself on a tour. I am interested in 24 but unfortunately won't be coming to this location.

Thought I'd update my review but what I really want to write about are the "house" basketballs. They have the same torn up/worn out random assortment of basketballs that they've had for like 3 years. They are in horrible shape. Here is the kicker though: They brought in brand new beautiful Spalding basketballs with the soft grip fake leather and they were awesome but it only lasted a day before they were all gone. They all had 24 hour Fitness written on them with a marker too so these weren't someone's personal basketball (which tends to be Wilson anyway).

What happened to them? My guess is that they were stolen. As it happened, that same night the gym had a bunch of people playing full court with people I never actually see work out at the gym any other time but then 15 people just show up and I guess they have a buddy buddy hook-up or a guest pass or something. I never see them on any other nights. So it's possible they just walked out with them.

Or perhaps the employees are in on it and they're stealing them. This isn't the first time this has happened either, it seems like they bring in new basketballs twice a year and it won't take but 3 days before they are all gone and the same sorry bald/peeling basketballs plus 2 WNBA sized balls which nobody even wants to steal are there.

I think they should either keep a better eye on the balls, or actually have people sign out for them with their membership ID and have them verify that they're a member or are a paying member. That way, there is SOME accountability. And yes, I know I can bring my own ball but to me, I just like to shoot around after or before my workout and it's kind of a hassle.

With the update of the old review, they seem to have fixed the giant fan and also the smell is a little better so that helps somewhat but it's still too hot there and it's still kind of dirty. The Pool area and locker rooms are a horror show. Oh and this "24 hour" fitness isn't 24 hours.

I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for years and the Club at San Felipe and Voss in Houston has gone downhill. The locker room needs to be renovated and more importantly they need a new cleaning crew, assuming they have one in the first place. I wouldn’t still be a member if it wasn’t for my trainer.

I came in earlier Thursday morning for my workout before work. An employee named Damon was there that was extremely friendly when I walked in. He was smiling from ear to ear then soon after asked what “I was working on today?”.This interaction made my morning simply based off the fact of how positive he was for the time a day. It was 5 am and he was so kind to me. This employee is definitely a keeper!

Been coming to this gym for about 2 months for a strict weight training regime I have and have 2 buddies who join me in my workouts, so while we work out we all tell each other one more rep or lower your squat or do better etc etc and they came to me and said I cannot coach, mind you I'm not a coach, we're all homes in the gym workout out and having a great time, ms Monica approached me and asked me if I were coaching and I assured her I was not, and we're just working out together and she said well you cannot even SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE WORKOUTS because it's considered "coaching" I've been in the gym My entire life and it's always been a thing to workout in groups and motivate one another and help if we're not doing something correctly at this gym they literally told me I can't even say anything to them about the workout which is very weird to me, I assured miss Monica that I'm not a paid coach. Today Eugene, very passively aggressive threatened me about my membership because he said I was coaching my buddy, so today telling a buddy to fix his rep is now days considered coaching? This is insane as there are many people in there helping one another out if working in groups, miss Monica knows that I'm not a coach, but this guy said something about my membership because of this and what kind of gym is this? Look at the reviews one stars everywhere the passed month because the staff is very passive aggressive not all but this Eugene guy was very passive aggressive even though I told him I'm not a coach, I will he contacting corporate for this harassment already have a target on my back we're trying to get good foe the summer and we can't even do that in peace

Was denied entry of 3 day pass because my DL didn’t match the zip code of the gym. I told them I worked within walking distance and was trying to see if this would fit into my work schedule but they insisted that I must live within a mile radius of the gym to be able to use the gym. I love this location because it’s close to my house but I can say it’s very dirty, the Zumba room there is a lot dust and hair and the mirrors are really dirty, every machine has dust for years they need to vacuum, even the room for the manager it’s a mess she is not clean in her office what we can expect. I’ve been coming to this location for >15 years and there has been an incredibly noticeable and rapid decline in the last 6-12 months. Cleaning stations have been reduced by 80%, the locker and restrooms are horrific (accompanied by signage reminding patrons to please not defecate on the floor - who necessitated THAT?), I’d rather swim in the Houston Ship Channel than the pool, the pool ceiling is beginning to collapse, the sauna is filthy and there is an accumulating brown water around the drain, steam room is constantly out of service, equipment is old and broken, theft is rampant, hours have been reduced, lighting and HVAC are constantly out, whole place reeks of weed (bad weed at that), the list goes on. I’m unsure how 24 Hour Fitness corporate allows this facility to operate like this, unless they’re intentionally withholding investment in order to ultimately put it out of its misery. One has to assume that a bulldozer is looming.

I used to go to this location about a year ago, visited recently and I was left speechless. First off machines are not serviced like they should be , most of them are broken or missing parts. Second would be sanitation, no paper towels available and cleaning solution missing. My last observation would be the lighting , the gym is dimmed due to burnt out lights. Day 3 no paper towels!! Management at this 24 has hit an all time low. I’ve been a member since 2001. I’ve seen the upside and downside, but these past few months is the lowest my home gym has ever been. Twice this week I observed a trainer Thomas leaving restroom without washing his hands. Gym opens late almost once a week. But the manager doesn’t want members to walk in til 5. Why not focus on the cleanliness of the facility, maintenance. Why is the gym floor /locker rooms, pool area dirty when you open for business? Fan broke for 3 week, machines broke for months, friendliness of staff. No dress code for staff no name tags. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

24 has changed a lot since I've been there
I have about 17 years of been a member, but some times I would like to go to look for other place to work out. The ppl at the front desk are very unfriendly or some are very selective whit ppl who they want to talk.
In my opinión, this is a place that need to have a friendly workers.
About 2 weeks ago I made a complaint about ppl who left wet cloth and shoes to dry in the sauna and no body do anything.
That is soo disgusting, the odor is very strong but ppl still doing it

I was hesitant on getting a membership here because the reviews were not the best but I love it here. I’ve tried a few gyms in the Houston area and love that they don’t keep it extremely freezing and bright, great amount of free weights and free weight machines, multiple muscle group machines which is a big deal because only having one shoulder machine doesn’t work for all body types. If you’re serious about lifting and building muscle this is definitely the place, if you’re looking for pretty machines to take selfies on this isn’t it.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. For the gym itself, it has the standard equipment that is extremely outdated. A good majority of machines have been ‘out of service’ for the past few months with there seeming to be no intention of fixing or replacing them. While this is annoying, the major reason for the 2 star review is the gym’s cleanliness. The floors and equipment look like they have never been cleaned and it seems that there is very little effort on the management’s part to keep a cleaner gym.

The bathrooms are nasty with hair on the floors, overflowing trash cans, dirty toilets and sinks. The cleaning stations have been reduced which makes it hard to clean the equipment. The staff is very warm, friendly and inviting. Mike is spectacular. He takes pride in his work and it shows on the gym floor. Lota is an amazing personal trainer. I see the way he takes careful consideration in how he treats and trains his clientele. Natalie is a great leader of her staff. Her leadership skills shine and she always greets guest as they arrive to the front desk. I go to many gyms in Houston (lifetime, LA Fitness and many others) and this particular one is definitely a vibe because of the dedicated staff.

I worked out there for the first time the other night and overall I had a pretty good experience. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and got me set up fast with a membership. The gym overall is pretty clean minus a couple machines that didn’t work. The steam and sauna worked well. I went into a couple of the areas to see what they were about like the bicycle room, and the gym where they played basketball and everything looked good. my only real complaint is the area is a bit on the sketchy side. The parking lot was a little sketch, but I think if you go during the day you will be fine. Overall, I’m looking forward to working out here again.

We hope that this site opens 24 hours a day or increases the number of hours it opens. I would like to continue here because it is close, but I will go somewhere else.this site. Many of us have schedules that don't fit into most people's standard schedule. Between midnight and 3am is the only free time I get to exercise. The men are worse then the female members!! Slamming down weights! Leaving their trash and clothing in the work out area and locker rooms!! Overall is a good gym to workout. Have the
Required machines. People are there to workout which is great (u don’t see people filming for social media or stuff like that) staff are nice
I gave 4 stars cause the lockers and restroom can be a little cleaner and 12 cardio machines are down :(

This location has nicer staff than other locations. They are always smiley, and easy to approach. It's an older gym but it has what it needs, ppl are there for the right reasons, and they have general gym etiquette which is a MUST 👍🏼 P.s. I love the classes and instructors but the group X room could use an update and deep clean!

Today I visited this location to make a decision on a new gym since one of my fitness classes were canceled at Tru Fusion . I was a member of Orange Theory and Tru Fusion here in the galleria area. I need a closer location that I can have access to free weights and continue my fitness journey.

I did my due diligence to research the gym and opt'd to get a free 3-day guest pass before committing to the gym. I walked in and was not greeted by anyone , instead I said " Hello " several times after meeting eyes with a gentleman by the name of Jason C who was walking right up to the front desk . He continues to walk to the desk with a cold stare and declines to answer back. I proceed to state my purpose at the gym. He tells me the location is no longer honoring " guest passes" . He tells me " This gym is for members only."

WELL EXCUSE ME .... I guess I'm not worthy of a tour of the facility , to be given details on membership, or to learn what are my goals. I walked away. Thought about it and decided NOT to drive to Fitness Connection 15 minutes away. Instead I go back inside and speak with Lota , the manager . He was patient enough to hear what my concerns were . He did express that it was true that guest passes were subjected to approval.

But we spoke about my background and what my goals were and he decided to validate the guest pass. He gave me a tour of the gym. We both found common ground that he knows some of the coaches at other Orange Theory gyms that I have went to and worked out at. The gym overall is outdated. BUT listen it will get the job done.

I stayed for about an hour and a half. I'm going to get the membership because I need the gym for proximity. I've been spoiled by Orange Theory and got to realize everyone isn't the same. The message I want this establishment to take away from this review is that customer service is everything ! How you treat people matters. Everyone has a story and we're all try to swim upstream.

The 24 Hour Fitness facility located at Voss and San Felipe is excellent. The exercise equipment is properly maintain and lubricated. I teach yoga and the studio provides a welcoming and inviting environment. I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness USA since 2004. The General Manager and Fitness Manager are absolutely fantastic!. Keep in mind when you cancel that it’s not actually canceled till you get a cancellation email. This location automatically renewed my membership which is fine but the same day when I called about the charge they lied to me by confirming it was canceled and that reimbursement was on the way. They stretched this 6 months then told me they could only reimburse me up to 3 months. Clowns work here, so just remember nothing is confirmed here unless you get a email saying it was done.

So grateful to have a gym where I can park right out front and walk in instead of multiple stairs/elevators/30 min commute from my car to my stairmill! Friendly, clean service as well! Spinning class is always fun and packed! Sad the daycare closed but maybe one day there will be a kids club. Lap pool is key and sauna is helpful. Basketball courts are always full and the zoomba class room is inspiring!

Very unprofessional staff, specifically at the front desk. The lady who attended me mocked me for no reason. She was on her phone without any awareness of the clients. If you don't like your job, don't show it to the paying customers because we are the reason why the gym employed you in the first place!

Voss location has unprofessional management. Manager is rude and appears to be unconcerned about keeping me as a dues-paying member, so I will be looking elsewhere. Very unhelpful & unfriendly front desk employee, Jason C, today. Josie & Jessica, however, are always super nice. And I will miss Julianna, wonderful yoga instructor.

Today is the fourth Monday in a row this gym doesn’t open up on time. Every Monday has been later than the past one. Last week it was 5:45! This is just ridiculous and poor management! This gym has gotten into the habit of not opening on time. For starters the name says 24 hours and it’s opened 14 hours. This is ridiculous. It has become any other gym. I regret renewing my membership. Should have just gone to a gym closer to where I live like LA FITNESS. Definitely not worth the 10 mile drive. I’m already on a tight schedule because you don’t open 24 hours. All over your quality has gone down.

Bought 2 year membership and thought I could extend membership due to an accident with an 18 wheeler that I had in November 2020 which prevented me from going to the gym. Now surgical candidate as a result of accident and will be unable to go to gym for several more weeks or months. Response was a resounding no. The I needed to check out Costco. They didn’t care about the accident. Really disappointed because I have been a member at this location for over 10 years and this was the response I got.

Closes every hour or so....for cleaning all day...In my opinion, there’s a better way to achieve this rather than telling your clients that they can only work out for one hour and a half at a time but yet charging them the entire 24 hour fitness fee.So if you have a very busy schedule, this may not be for you. This was at 5am doing fasted cardio, I am very appreciative because this could have turned out to be a bad situation and also a bad day

Highly recommend because trainers are too good even I was taken session from Thomas he is dam good highly knowledgeable in nutrition as well as exercise and also makes very comfortable environment for freshers..the second most attractive things is the Rachel's Zumba class..she is one of the best Zumba instructor ever..I really enjoyed the Zumba class it was fun to be part of this class you can forget pain in that environment... overaly completely satisfied ....

The restrooms are always dirty. The front desk employees are on their phones mostly besides Karen, she is actually very welcoming. The management and the staff are unable to complete a simple account freezing task. I had to contact them twice and had to go in once and they still were not able to take care of it. Horrible experience. The staff literally lies to you about the membership and has no coordination and communication amongst themselves. Highly unprofessional lot of people who don't even have the courtesy to call back. Also, they don't even encourage or enforce cleaning up after the use of their equipments, which is one of the biggest reasons for infections. They maybe a chain but certainly a pathetic one. Would never go or recommend!

This 24 Hour Fitness is well managed and has a very logical weightlifting layout design. Great for heavy lifting and cardio. Large parking area and the hours are ideal. Close to the interaction of Voss and San Felipe.

Very helpful staff at the reception helped to arrange a guest pass and showed me around. Equipment in decent shape for a 24hF, with a good variety to achieve a good workout. Not too busy in the early afternoon, so no wait for bench press etc. locker room ok, shower a little grimy but not too bad. One of the better 24hF I’ve seen in the country.

Great location, poor Management. Members come into wet area in gym attire & street clothes, the greater majority do not shower or remove any clothing. Most have mobile phones & play music that can be heard through their earpice. A staff member came into the wet area with chemicals i guess to check the water condition. She looked at a guy sitting with his street clothes on eating a banana with his feet & legs in the whirlpool. Their are posted signs all around but staff does not enforce them. I have given up on talking to members. Sad!

Thomas Cole is a great trainer. He personally is a beast with something ridiculous like only 5% body fat from his vegan lifestyle and disciplined workouts. But he is also very knowledgeable, patient, challenging and inspiring. The facility is a little older, but the staff is top notch.
