We were there for several months. Many times the classes were too full and understaffed. Eventually, this led to our daughter being ignored and any one on one time that was offered being non existent. It was chaos and I would not recommend this for any preschoolers who need more attention and guidance.. there isn’t any. At the end of class when the kids would get their stickers, my daughter was completely ignored as she was sitting in the same lines as other kids. She was so upset and we had to go ask the “teachers” for her sticker. She started telling us gymnastics was scary. We found a new gym and it is a night and day difference with organization. Spare your kid the anxiety and go somewhere else. I have heard that other times and days of the week were better due to different coaches but our schedule prohibited switching…Only reason they got two stars is because the owner let us out of the monthly fee to leave.

This gymnastics has the most fantastic teachers have ever seen in this area. Their dedicated to training every student and not just babysitting them like other gymnastics places I've been to. They actually want to teach them skills of gymnastics. Highly recommend it!

We tried the toddler class. The reality is the layout and structure of the class really isn’t suitable for toddlers. It’s not childproofed, there are vast spaces where they’re not allowed to go but able to access
I think the teacher could use more support in understanding what to expect from toddlers and how to redirect them.

A great place for gymnastics for young children and older kids as well. Coach Chris has been my daughter's coach since she was little more than a toddler and he's extremely patient and kind. He has a great balance of high expectations and understanding, which translates really well with kids who are learning how to do things they never believed they could. I don't know if his methods are the same as every coach at AtB or if they're unique to him, but either way, my daughter has gone from being scared to do a cartwheel to doing back walk-overs and front flips. AtB has options for parents who don't want to commit to once or twice a week classes, such as Open Gym and Friday Night Outs (love this for a date night!) After- school programs and summer camps. Definitely worth checking out!

This place’s only saving grace is their amazing coaches. Office staff is so rude, unprofessional and wants everything on THEIR time. And will literally put the phone down and discuss you to/with other parents. Professionalism is not something you’ll find here.

While my granddaughter went there so many kids left. Disorganized and low quality teaching. They couldn’t even keep the ac working. Really disappointed.

I have taken my kids to AtB open gym on and off for a decade. They never disappoint. It's not a free-for-all like other local open gyms (that cost more with for 2 or 3 kids and shorter time than at atb); they have semi guided stations to keep the kids engaged the whole time. My 3yo thru 13yo all love going when they don't have school. If there are kids who want a little more gymnastics skills, coach Chris and coach Kevin are always willing to help give drill options.
When my 3yo first started, I had to go with him because, but coach Kevin did a great job of engaging him, then coach Chris when he started helping with open gym. Now my child does the whole 1.5hrs on his own with just the coaches encouragement.
Sometimes open gym does have upwards of 20-30 kids for 2-3 coaches. The coaches do a great job of balancing fun and safe vs chaos. I would not feel my child was safe going if they just let the kids do whatever they wanted (it's a full gym, not a toddler gym).

Went to an open gym. We went a couple years ago at the HWY 3 location and loved it. This time, it was incredibly structured to the point that my kids sat and waited for turns more than they actually played. At the end, the coach gave them a speech/talk about how it's never okay to scream at an adult or say no to one. I cringed. My children know if someone is hurting you to scream and yell No. I know the intention was to encourage respect and discipline but children don't understand the difference in that. They learn never to say no to an adult and that's worrisome. We won't be paying $20 for my 3 kids to sit around and keep being told to wait your turn. If I wanted that, I'd sign them up for actual classes.

This gym regularly cancels classes and either doesn't offer, or offers extremely limited options for make-up classes. You pay a monthly membership and they won't refund you for the classes they cancel, even if you can't make up the class at their convenience. Basically, they don't feel too obligated to provide your child with the services you paid for. There are other gyms in the area who will work with you and your schedule and that genuinely care about providing you with the services you pay for. Recommend you find one of them, instead of Above the Bar.

We've been coming here for years, since my daughter was 2, she's now almost 6. We have experienced the last owners and the current owners. If you want your kid to take gymnastics seriously and be even remotely competitive, this is the place to be. At the time the new owners took over I was about to go find a competitive gym in the area so my daughter could get some real training. She's not on team yet, but the pre-team, Hot Shots. Her coach is Coach Pablo, and we absolutely love him. Her skills have increased exponentially sine she joined his class. I don't think any gyms are perfect, and people don't agree with all the rules, however, I believe they are better than most of the other gyms out there.

We have had a good experience with this place for our 4 year old boy. They are very sports orientated unlike some of the other gyms (or little gyms) we've taken him to where kids just run around and play. This facility has instructors that guide and engage the kids through activities that actually prepare them for gymnastics. It's not just a place to get your kids energy out but to help them learn structure and focus in a fun atmosphere. The instructors encourage the parents to stand back while they lead the class which is also a nice feature that allows my child to engage with the class and instructor and not be distracted by me or the other parents. Unlike other places we've been to, the staff seems to manage the groups and activities well while giving attention to each child. This really is a great place and different from others we've been to. It has become part of our weekly routine.

My son just had his 5th birthday party at this facility. He had 14 other 4-6 year olds attend. The hour that they spent of the floor "playing" included one of the workers yelling at 3 of the kids and eventually asking the parents to come out to assist. The yelling also including grabbing their arms, placing her hands on their face to make them look at her, or threatening to make them sit out. Immediately after the time on the floor, we moved to the table to have pizza and cake. After the food was over, she circled all of the kids to allow my son to open gifts with 10 minutes left on our time. After the gift opening started, the same worker starts vacuuming within 10 feet of where the gifts were being opened. Once the gifts were opened, we were about 10 minutes over our time (keep in mind that they dictated all of the timing) and all of the kids and parents were all but pushed out the front door to make room for the next party coming in. This is just a poorly managed facility when it comes to birthday parties. I would highly advise against it.

Please explain why I can pay for my child to be on team and miss practice Bc it's summer vacation, but can't take her out and re-enroll her but not be on team? They only want your money. They changed the price for team from $180 to $210 in a week and changed their practice hours from 4-5:30 to 9:00-12:00. In an ideal world that's great but how do us working people take our kids to a practice at 9:00am and then stop our day to pick up at 12:00 pm when Above the Bar sees fit?
