Great gym! I’m a college baseball player and work out here about four times a week. The place is always clean, equipment is well-maintained, and there’s plenty of space to get a solid workout in. Since moving from another gym in Montgomery, I’ve found my fitness home at Anytime Fitness. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this is a completely revitalized space. The new manager is outstanding—highly engaged, accountable, and clearly committed to delivering a top-notch member experience.

Looking back at reviews before April 1st, I honestly can't relate. The gym is now consistently spotless, the equipment is well-maintained, and the staff is not only friendly and welcoming but truly invested in helping members achieve their goals.

I’ve been a member at this gym for over six years and have seen a few managers come and go. The new manager, Mrs. Baraza, has really turned things around. The gym is now much cleaner and better organized.

Worn-out equipment has been updated with new pads (no more taped-up fixes!), the AC finally works properly, and there are new TVs installed around the gym. The staff is also very helpful and friendly, which makes a big difference in the overall experience.

It’s great to enjoy coming here again. Keep up the great work!

Under NEW management, and I gotta say that this gym is much, much better off because of it. The manager at the Montgomery gym does such a great job keeping the facility clean and tidy! She welcomes members as they come in and does her best to keep equipment maintained. I understand she is limited by the availability of replacement parts and the equipment maintenance crews schedule, however she always acknowledges when maintenance work needs to be done. At last, my two-year sentence has ended. Two years shackled to a promise that was never real. I was deceived from the start, and the Better Business Bureau has been involved. Yet, even with their involvement, Anytime Fitness refused to set things right. Here is how the trap was set: The man who signed me up, all smiles and easy charm, assured me that if I ever wanted out early, it would be no problem. “Just stop by my office,” he said, as if it were the simplest thing in the world. He even laughed, confessed that he did not care much for the job anyway so what was one little favor? That assurance was the bait, and like a fool, I took it. His name escapes me now, but his deception does not. Later, life changed. I found myself across the ocean, spending most of my time in the UK with my fiancée. The gym? A forgotten obligation. So, I reached out, reminded them of the promise, and asked them to honor it. The response? A cold redirection to the contract I had signed. The same contract I was told would not be a barrier if I ever needed to leave. In that moment, the truth was undeniable. He had lied, plain and simple, just to make the sale. Some lessons are expensive, and this was one of them. But at least now, the chains are broken forever.

A total disaster. Complete con. Went through hell with their contract.. it automatically renewed after 12 months. Once it renews ur stuck for another year! I have never in my life dealt with such terrible customer service as this location! I signed up for my membership through my health insurance provider and after several months of trying, I still can't get my membership activated because a Manager is NEVER on site during the open hours they talk about. I have tried going there 5 different times and called over 12 times and even sent emails, and still NOTHING! How does a place like this stay in business with such poor management?? Is the owner not involved with the facility. TERRIBLE OWNERSHIP & MANAGEMENT! RUN - DON'T JOIN THIS LOCATION!! TAKE YOUR MONEY TO ANOTHER FACILITY THAT CARES ABOUT THEIR MEMBERS!!

I really like this location. It was clean, air conditioner was working. Good, ceiling fans were whirling. It was a little crowded, but nobody camped out on equipment. They were all using it. Compared to the other two that we go to, this one is ahead.

This is the worst gym in Montgomery county. Being a former very successful gym owner I try not to tear others down, but this place is pathetic. I had a membership here for a brief time. I moved out of the country and tried to cancel the membership. While out of the country they tried to tell me I had to physically come into a gym to cancel a membership. You cannot create policies for a freaking gym of all places that force a person to come into your facility to cancel a membership. Especially when someone is out of the country. They continued to give me a hard time and when I refused to pay a membership I was trying to cancel they sent me to collections. Absolute joke and Pathetic business owner. There is a reason this gym is either empty or has a few high school kids working out in it and its due to terrible ownership and even worse policies. After reading how many people have had this tpe of issue cancelling and with billing I went ahead and reported these guys to the better business bureau. Place is a joke. Read the reviews.

Dues are increasing, but yet services and cleanliness have continued to decrease. So what am I paying an increase for? Window shades have been broken for probably 2 years and other equipment have out of order signs on them. No classes offered here either.

Generally dirty. Same spots have been dirty for a while now. Equipment also takes a while to get fixed. New manager doesn't seem very friendly or outgoing. Don't see her speak to members. The other issue is that nothing ever happens to people that bring in friends etc that don't scan in. I thought the security behind scanning in was that it would recognize if someone came in without scanning in. I see this happen all the time so what's the point in paying for 2 people if you could both come in on 1 scan. Also wish the gym would get woodway treadmill.

Gym is consistently clean and looking spotless. Workouts there are always enjoyable, there is usually no crowd or need to alternate for using equipment.

Overall its a great gym going experience. Would recommend anyone looking for gym to try it.

You will be charged a FULL 30 days after you cancel your membership, even when your annual contract is over. My 30 days included THREE payments of $24.68. Was told I shouldn’t be charged again...keeping my fingers crossed. Cancelled in-person on Jan 7th, membership ended Jan 10th. Was still charged Jan 9th, Jan 23rd and now Feb 6th. When will it end?

The original GM that I signed up with promised me that when I became a caretaker for my child (who is chronically ill), I could easily call & cancel my membership. When Covid hit, I called to let them know that my daughter's major reconstructive surgery was going to be scheduled while the hospitals were at a lower capacity. No one was available to answer the phone because the gym was closed due to CoViD. The following next couple months were filled with all of us getting very sick (not sure if it was CoViD), then surgery w/ admittance to the hospital, & a LOT of recovery at home (plus many appointments downtown) for the next few months including her having to use a walker to get around our home (& a lot of sleepless nights). When I finally remembered to call them again, the old GM was no longer there but the new GM stated that he could change the date on my cancellation paper to cancel my contract at an earlier date to allow me to redeem some of the money I was charged since I hadn't used the facility (they know when you use the facilities), Jay was understanding of my daughter's health issues (I even emailed very detailed reports of her health issues that were private to us), & he also understood about me having called & could not get a hold of anyone. At that time, even the 800# could not help me in cancelling. When I came to sign the cancellation, I was told that he could no longer backdate cancellations & got in trouble for doing it for someone else. I was upset but just wanted to cancel since I hadn't used the gym since before February. I was told it would be cancelled and I would not have to pay for this next month but he would (Jay) talk to his Regional Manager, Whitney, and see if she could help with giving me some credit due to my circumstances and him having said he could backdate my cancellation. Many calls ensued with promises to get an answer from Whitney until I was about to be charged again for another month (2 days ago). I was told to pay my past due & that he would talk to Whitney again in the next couple days but either way, I NEED to pay past due so I wouldnt be charged again. I paid my past due but two days later (today), I called again to see what Whitney said. At this point, I'm tired of calling. Jay informs me that because I don't have a card on file (I took my card off file because I had unauthorized use on that card), I will now be charged ANOTHER month at the gym even though I'm not using it. This was not said before! My payment wasn't even in the system processed by Jay even though it was 2 days ago! AND, I was charged a late fee even though I paid. I PAID & they charged me a late fee after I had a $0 balance because he didn't process my payment and did not cancel my contract! Jay just said there is nothing he can do and I will just have to pay for another month. I am livid! I am hurt. I only got this membership with knowing how understanding the company was of a mother who was just trying to take care of their young child who was very sick but also wanting to get more healthy before I had to be a caretaker for her. DO NOT sign up with this gym. They will screw you over too. I am extremely disappointed in their lack of morals and greediness. I cannot believe this has haloened in our great town of Montgomery. I plan on spreading the word to my mom groups on Facebook as well. What they have done is so very wrong.
My review when I signed up:
The GM walked me through all of my options and the ease of being able to workout at anytime of day on a great selection of equipment. After reciving 2 free hours of personal training, Aaron helped me with a more effective way to work out on some equipment that I was not used to using. His knowledge changed my initial thoughts on how best to lose weight so it was more effective for me and a knee injury I have had for years. Very grateful for all their effort. Best gym I have ever joined! Can't wait to do the free Strength Training/Cardio and Yoga Classes! I have already lost 7 lbs in one month!

I hope this helps out anyone that is still undecided about which Gym to join! I have had some bad experiences at certain places but the ethics that this facility has are by far the worst I have seen. During March I was out of work and also having to pay for summer tuition as a college student. I reached out on March 31st via email I found on Facebook because I was unable to reach anyone at the facility and was told there was no specific time they would even be back in office. I explained my situation and was asking what can I do from here, I understand I signed a contract but is there any cancellation fee or anything to help me get out of the contract so I can focus my resources towards more important things in my life. We exchanged emails through the day and all she told me was basically sorry for your inconvenience but there is no way out of the contract and I can pay a fee to freeze it for a few months. I ended up having to take the draft off my account and heard nothing more until August 3rd when I received an email from ABC Financial saying this is my final notice and they will now be handing my information over to creditors. Fast forward through taking care of that and reaching out to them, I got ahold of Jay the manager at Anytime Fitness and was told to send a doctor note stating my health issues prevent me from coming to the gym and send it via certified mail. I sent the certified letter on August 17th and it was delivered on August 19th and was not signed for even though they were supposed to sign. I also did not receive any communication till August 31st when Jay called me to tell me he can’t cancel due to the balance I owe. Keep in mind all of that balance would have been nonexistent if they even told me about this option when I reached out initially. Overall, I should have just drove a few extra miles and committed to a different gym.

Gym is nice, but the owners and managers are criminals. When I signed up, I told the manager that I didn't like being stuck in a contract. He assured me that if I ever wanted to cancel, it was just a simple $50 cancellation fee and I could be done with it. I had my son with me at the time so I wasn't trying to sit and read a 10 plus page contract on the tiny Ipad they sign you up on so It's my ignorance for not reading the fine print. However, regardless I was lied to by the manager and he neglected to mention the key point that in order to cancel for $50 you have to move where there are no anytime fitness locations within 50 miles, deploy with the military, or die. That is literally what the general manager told me. When I explained that I had been deceived by HIS EMPLOYEE, the general manager told me tough luck, he works for a corporate company and I was not his problem. He also told me if I didn't pay then I would be held legally liable for the remaining balance on the contract.

Either way, I told the guy when signing up that I hated contracts for this reason and he 100% lied and deceived me to make the sale. It's my ignorance for not reading the fine print but for this reason I will never buy another gym membership anywhere ever, and I will do my best to ensure no one ever does business with this crooked company ever again. Especially with the corrupt employees of the Montgomery TX location. This is a small town and there are tons of other great options for fitness.

The gym area and equipment are nice, clean, and in good condition. It's almost always all men, but they leave you alone, which I greatly appreciate. Howevever, restrooms are co-ed and disgusting. Anytime I've tried to use the restroom there has been pee all over the toilet and floor. I had to take a shower there once and the shower was full of pubes. Great place to workout, but needs some major housekeeping help.

Clean facility, equipment is in good condition. Lots of different equipment, machines, and activity spaces. Bathrooms and shower rooms are single occupant, not communal. Shower has good water pressure, never runs out of hot water. Plays good music. Only problem is the WiFi- it only seems to work about half the time.
