I’ve been a member since 2014 since this George Dieter location and now at the Amy Sue. And I’ve got to say I’m very pleased with this gym. I’ve gotten to know the General Manager Glenn since the first day he started here and he’s been nothing but Amazing! He always makes sure he makes everyone feel welcomed and has such a positive personality and positive energy, gotta love him. Gym is always clean and staff are nice and friendly . I switch gyms over a trainer I see every morning Adam he is very rude and looks very grumpy every morning and makes faces, it bad enough its a struggle for me to get up every morning but to have to wake up and see that everyday is disappointing. This particular gym is exceptional. It is obvious that cleanliness and tidiness is a top priority for their members. The other Anytime Fitness gyms I have been to, it usually doesn't smell pleasant and/or the equipment is dirty. Here the weights are organized and they have equipment and accessories i haven't found at other gyms. Plenty of windows to let sunlight in as well. The music is at a comfortable level as well. I highly recommend this particular gym.

I have been a member of this establishment for years! Owners are amazing as well as the staff! I love being a part of the Anytime fitness family. To the review before about ATF losing a member of over 10 years, it is my belief that something that was against ATF rules and regulations happened for Glen to interrupt a workout. Amazing staff members across the board. The establishment is always clean and weights are always re-racked. I highly recommend getting an ATF membership 💪🏽

Sign up for this gym if you don't mind ever changing staff and trainers; if you like personal training that is NOT personal; and if you are ok with management that only cares about your membership fees not your personal fitness goals or well-being.

If all that sounds good, then Anytime Fitness - Montwood is a great gym to join!

The gym itself is nice enough but once you are there for a while you will notice there is not a lot of variety in equipment. I would compare it to a larger version of a hotel gym, but it is nice and fairly well kept. One thing it has going for it is that it is always clean, members are friendly and conscious of wiping down equipment and cardio machines.

I joined Anytime Fitness - Montwood November of 2022. I signed up for 3 days of personal training from the get-go and signed a 1-year contract for both monthly membership and 3 days of training per week. I made an impulse decision to sign up on the spot after a quick tour; l did not compare or look around at any other gyms. In hindsight I wish I had shopped around.

At the time of my sign up, I made the decision that prioritizing my health and well-being was something I needed to take immediate action on. I had been dealing with depression from the loss of my mother during Covid and the loss of my father to cancer a year beforehand. My depression led to a downward spiral of overeating, drinking, binging TV, weight gain, and not leaving the house. After being in this unhealthy state for almost 2 years I woke up one day and decided this has to stop! I got in my car, drove to Anytime Fitness, signed up on the spot.

Early on after I started attending the gym and meeting with my personal trainer, I began to question my decision. After a few months and being juggled around from trainer to trainer, I realized I should have shopped around, learned more about the gym and the trainers. In the past 1.5 years I have been moved around from trainer to trainer because they all have left (quit) the gym. Since November of 2022, I have had 6 personal trainers and seen the entire staff change a few times.

Last week I voiced this concern to Glen, the general manager and asked him if he would let me exit my contract early. I shared my feedback with him, told him about my numerous setbacks, and how my progress has been slow due to each change. He said there was nothing he could do as I was under contract but that he would take it to upper management. Two days later he let me know that upper management, a person named Rose, said there was nothing they could do and they would hold me to the terms of the renewed contract. I had been hopeful that upper management would recognize having 6 trainers in less than 1.5 years was excessive, they would understand my progress was hindered, services rendered for personal training were unsatisfactory and let me exit my contract with grace. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The answer was simply just a no, you are under contract and if you don’t pay, we will send you to collections.

Over the past 2 weeks I have visited several gyms within a 1 block radius shared and shared my experience. I have been greeted warmly, been shown exceptional levels of customer service learned that there are gyms with nicer facilities, better/newer equipment, personal amenities, saunas, yoga classes, cycling studios, and robust class schedules all for a similar price to Anytime Fitness.

I came to Anytime Fitness as a place to help me with my struggles with physical and mental health and instead I have been greeted with even more uncertainty, anxiety at the onset of each new trainer, setback after setback, mental stress, and now financial repercussions.

I would highly encourage you to do your due diligence before signing up at Anytime Fitness - Montwood. It is seemingly a great place outside looking in but once you are a member you will see all the flaws. Definitely do not sign up for personal training unless you are comfortable with a new person training you or a new person teaching your classes every couple of months.

Great at first but for how expensive it is it’s kind of falling apart.

There has been a bar that’s been bent for about 6 months now, most bars have lost their grip, the scale goes weeks without batteries, and the trainer takes up the entire turf on peak hours area for 2 people.
I understand it’s busy, towels go fast, etc - that’s fine. But basic gym equipment needs and maintenance is overlooked and there is A LOT of competition nearby.

Been a member of Anytime Fitness for couple years now, couldn’t see myself at any other gym in EP. Starts at the top with Management “Eddie.” He has this location spot on with equipment , cleanliness, an always putting his AF members first. I highly recommend this particular AF location. Which is by far best AF in town! Ask for Eddie or Glenn.

If you aren't being trained by one of their trainers you're treated like a second class citizen. Trainers bring all their clients in at pretty much the same time and hog the whole training area. Then they have the nerve to put up cones and tell you tou can't work out there if a class is going on.

RUDE! The male receptionist I spoke to was very unprofessional regarding my account. Threatening to send me to collections if I didn’t pay. The contract is not even under my name. When I asked to speak to the manager he said it was himself and there was nothing he could do. I called back to speak to the manager and he said no manager was available. Worst and most unprofessional gym location I have ever been to!!!! Just moved to El Paso and down the street from this gym, and was able to go online and sign up for a 7-day free pass to go and check it out. So I go to the gym and then gentleman working comes up to me and says I need to scan my card in. I advise him that I have a pass and wanted to check the gym out first and he goes on to inform me that they don’t accept or honor free passes, guests, or anyone that does not already have a membership there!! I don’t argue or object I just say thank you and calmly walk out, but for this to be such a huge franchise I have never attended a gym where they don’t honor their own generated free pass. Thank you, but no thank you!!

Great small gym. There is a lot of equipment thoughtfully placed throughout and the staff is really helpful. The manager knows most of his clients by name and ensures everything is clean. As opposed to other reviews. But I find that if you approach people genuinely without expectations of them owing you something, you tend to build relationships. We should keep in mind out of the 100s of different machines and ammenaties available, gyms can only use so many. This gym does phenomenal with the space it has and cares for their customers.

Not bad for how small the place is. The staff is nice but the manager is a prick. If you move to El Paso from out of town looking for a gym I don’t recommend you come here. I tried the 7 day free trial to see how the feel of the place was and the manager didn’t seem to like the fact that I had an out of state ID even though I gave them my address here in El Paso. He walked around giving me dirty looks and seemed to be watching what I was doing all the time. I don’t think he wants more business for this place. Save your time and money take it somewhere.

Gym is clean and 24 hours. However the cancellation is a headache and they use archaic methods to prevent you from cancelling. Ive been a member for more than a year and a half now and had moved to the far west. I had fulfilled my term of contract for one year and was free to cancel but they make it difficult to cancel by telling you only the manager can authorize a cancellation. This is god awful especially since the manager runs a limited schedule and ive come twice where he was unavailable. Overall the cancellation experience will have me never coming back here.
