I travel around the country. I’ve been to a fair number of Anytime fitness. Some are great and some are not. This one kind of falls in the middle. I was a little bit skeptical about the Star Trec equipment. But surprisingly a lot of that stuff had a nice feel to it. Where I saw some shortcomings was the quality of equipment and the general cleanliness of the place there’s a lot of benches that were torn. They have a funky Smith machine that kind of moves around. Seems like a lot of the pads could be replaced. I think my biggest gripe is the bathroom. The men’s shower room was pretty disgusting. I imagine the toilet has its moments and I just caught it at a bad time, but the shower itself could use some anti-mildew spray and a good scrubbing and everything such as the slip pad and the shower curtain could be replace. Those things come at minimal cost, and you can literally walk across the parking lot at Walmart to get them. There’s no reason for there to be any kind of mildew buildup hair and there’s no reason to have a disgusting shower curtain that you didn’t even wanna touch also it smelled like pee. These are simple fixes so they are really frustrating to me.

Decade+ Anytime member from out-of-state. I enjoy the gym concept as I dont have to worry about making it in time before the gym closes especially when I travel, and if your the type trying to avoid people Anytime is a great way to do so! *That said* having dropped into many Anytime gyms over the years, this one stands out by leaps and bounds above the rest!
The management definitely is hands on here, not just cleanliness and functioning equipment but clearly actively involvement with the members, precision upkeep of facilities giving their members (and those that drop in) the best chance for a worry-free workout. As a fellow business owner, I appreciate the care it must take behind the scenes- and it’s refreshing!

Only gym that’s open 24 hours in the area but sad when you come in to do a leg day and the guy from the office has both areas that you do squats occupied so no one else can use them. I had to leave and go to Lubbock just to do a leg day

One of the most “family owned” style anytime’s I’ve been in! Very friendly members, as well as staff. Good variety of machines and dumbbells. Just wish there was more freeweights!

I’m so glad that Plainview has an anytime fitness. It’s convenient that I can still go to the gym when visiting family. However this gym has had machines broken (the leg curl in particular) for weeks with nothing done about it. The majority of the time weights are left out and about in a mess by the regulars. The music is loud and terrible. Just today, there is a fly problem. It’s hard keeping places open in rural towns, so I hope this place can improve and stay open.

This location is trash. For the monthly fee, this franchisee must be pocketing all the money, instead of updating the facility. The location is to small, equipment looks like it’s from 2005, and it looks nothing like a modern Anytime Fitness. Plus there was not even a sink in the men’s restroom!!?! Locals are missing out on a true Anytime fitness gym, but paying the same fees for outdated equipment. Go get a membership at Planet fitness if you’re a local, cause this is a waste of money. I am visiting from a bigger city and was in shock to see this location the way it is. Hope corporate sees this! Wish I could give 0 stars

Anytime fitness is great. But this specific location is too small with very little equipment. With that you have too many people using machines at once and you're just not comfortable. Can't really have fun.

I was very disappointed with their customer service. I signed up last week thru my insurance company and had to wait till the gym was open and staffed to get signed up and they told me today that they had quit accepting the fitness passes LAST WEEK AND THEY WOULDN'T EVEN TRY TO FIX THIS ISSUE FOR ME.

It is open 24 hours a day. It remains clean and has various workout equipment. There is also a personal trainer available. The soap and sanitizer dispenser's just need to remain full.

Worst place ever. I was a current and 3 year customer. $47 a month for 3 years then in June they take an extra 67 dollars on top of your monthly payment. Signed a 2 year contract and was never late or behind. I called and tried to cancel my membership and they stated that I had to go when the manager was there, which was the same hours of work in Lubbock daily. I could never make it in. I kept telling them and they kept deducting payments. I finally put a stop payment and they kept sending me letters saying I was being sued for being past due lol. Never again rude and worst managers.

I found the equipment to be in almost new condition throughout, everything worked great. there's not a ton of equipment per se but there's plenty enough to get your fit in! Very clean throughout. Great location thank you management!

My review is based on the company, not this specific location. I have been with anytime since April 12' and as a company, they do have some draw backs, but overall, they are a good company. My Facebook replies about any problems with any location have all been answered promptly and all but a few locations are maintained satisfactorily. Locations are conveniently located and members are extremely friendly. I would recommend this company to anyone that does a lot of traveling, especially truck drivers as most have parking at or near the location. As for the contracts, the location I signed up with offered 1, 6, 12, and 18 month options. This specific location I've only been to once and it wasn't great, but it also wasn't bad either.

Let me start off with, I loved this club, but when my identity got stolen I was a day late on changing my credit card information because I hadn't received my new card in the mail yet. When I went to pay for my month they charged me 2/3 of what I payed after they told me I should pay automaticly. So without knowing I was told to pay again making me pay for 3 months as compared to one. When I asked for a refund they totally blew me off for over a month saying it was sent to my bank, then when I got my bank involved all of a sudden there was a check in the mail. It has been over 2 months and I still haven't seen this check or my money. Fed up I tried to cancel my contract, using all the legal methods acquired. The owner says, "THERE IS NO WAY TO GET OUT OF THE CONTRACT UNLESS I'M DEAD OR PHYSICALLY ILL!" This man by the name of "Monte" does not care about the gym, he only cares for trapping people into giving him money. Not to mention a few months after they opened all the equipment started to break down and take months to get fixed. Don't waste your time or money here, you're better off at the YMCA, at least there they don't SCAM people into staying with them! Don't let me forget to mention how rude this owner is hiding behind a phone and how rude the girl at the office is! When spoken to civilly they give you NO WAYS on how you can terminate the contract. They only say "Show me where in the contract it says you can cancel". Looking up this company online there is the same story over and over! I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE! Rude, disrespectful, money-hungry people who will do anything to trick people into getting a buck.
