I was sold a membership by an employee of Anytime Fitness named Tayraun Salter. After sending Tayraun the money, he text me a link that said Welcome to Anytime Fitness with the App which I downloaded and he gave me a verification code which gave me access. After having been a member for a little over a month I received a voicemail saying my membership was fraudulent and they cancelled my membership immediately. After many phone calls to Rick who is manager there and no response directly from the owner of the franchise who is named Sandra Gonzalez, they are unwilling to reimburse any of my money or honor the membership which their employee sold not only myself but also to a neighbor friend of mine. It's a horrible way to run a business and shows no effort to make things right. Looking forward to a response from the owner since I've never received a phone call from her.

Typical scummy gym - tells you there's no commitment at sign up, can cancel any month, friend pass, etc. Only to bait and switch the exact second your signature goes down.

Don't sign up for any length of time with these scammers. The gym is TINY, too...not that it's an issue, this is probably one of the lowest traffic gyms out there.

Wouldn't have even left a review, except that I've tried to unsubscribe to their marketing emails about 20 times since I finally got them to accept my cancellation of membership (after still being charged for another 3 months after the agreed upon last payment) and I still get them. So...

I like the gym, equipment and cleanliness but it needs someone who cares about members’ experience and respects members’ time.

Spent at least 2 hours in the gym with both restrooms unusable and the staff did nothing during this time while having a small talk among themselves. When I was ready to take a shower, they realized it and made me wait for 30 minutes on a weekday and still couldn’t have it ready. Things happen but the fact that they did not prioritize fixing the bathrooms over their fun talks is very sad and disappointing.

Is there a ZERO star option? The owner let the last location stay dirty and broken down for MONTHS. A portion of the gym was under plastic and unusable yet they still collected 100% of the monthly charge. The equipment was under repair and most of the pads were torn.
It was one of the worst gyms I have actually ever seen.

The place is literally FIVE MINUTES from my house. Great location. Near groceries, restaurants and other places. Great parking. Great window views. Great facility. Great equipment. Great hours of operation because it’s ANY TIME!

My brother and I have a bad experience here. When he started the membership they say it will be per month… we were trying to reach them but they don’t answered and the payments never stopped. It was almost a year and when I was finally able to communicate, they said the cancellation form wasn’t signed and they can’t refund anything. When we paid the first time we said it will be for a couple of month and we sent them an email that we want to stop. Nobody answered at that time. The worst part was the guy that answer the call even hung up me and I don’t know if all this thing will be resolve or not. I don’t recommend this place.

The staff at Anytime Fitness in Plano is great and accommodating, they are going through a rough patch unfortunately as construction has taken out a few areas of the gym due to storm damage, they deep clean the gym almost everyday, when I walk in Wes is usually vacuuming, mopping, or scrubbing the bathrooms/machines. It’s good to see even when there is unfortunate things happening the staff still tries their hardest to take pride in their facility. Thank you for consistently keeping the gym up to standards. I’d like to also point out that I have never seen a staff member not doing something involving the gym, Coach Ben was actually scrubbing the corners of the team room yesterday when I walked in! Keep it up! Also the group misses you Coach Jarrett!

I am very disappointed with this specific location. I was excited to go to this gym as it was 4 minutes away from home, but it was gross. It needs to be cleaned better. They say that it's "deep cleaned 2 times a week," but the quality of the cleaning is not good- a lot of the machines are grimy- nobody likes feeling grimy at a place where people are already sweating a lot. I've told them in person that the gym is dirty and, oh yeah, well, clean it, and still- the cleaning is not up to par. The main reason I go there is because the ellipticals are all gone now when the roof got water damage from these big storms 3 months ago, and they still have not finished fixing it. There is also not a good place to be able to stretch- their little stretch area is usually taken up by the private coaching sessions, and the group room is not for use if they have classes, so if you need to stretch afterward, there isn't really anywhere to do so- and remember the floor is all gross. Also, one time, my coach got there late and was clearly high on weed by the smell and the eyes. Even though, I don't personally care, don't do that right before work and get their 20 minutes late. Lastly, if anybody cares about the population, it is mostly an older crowd that goes to this location, so if you're looking for a younger crowd, this specific location is not the place. I'm now going to the Craig Ranch location; it is much bigger, cleaner, and nicer.

SCAM! I cancelled my membership and was supposed to pay 50% of the remaining balance, but money was kept withdrawn from my account for the whole billing cycle. And, it turned out that even after signing all the papers, the employee on purpose didn't cancel my membership to get all the money. AVOID tTHIS PLACE at all cost, they gonna scam you, thinking that you weren't notice.
----- Answer to your comment (see screenshot) - because you scam people instead of getting the cancellation fee that was supposed to be withdrawn, you withdraw for the full cycle thinking clients will not notice, this is how you scam people to make money into your pocket. Don't fool people around, you kept getting the money from the same bank account because you could get more than withdrawing the one-time cancellation fee.

My father and I had a bad experience at Anytime Fitness. The facility was dirty, which was very disappointing. When we requested to cancel our membership, we were told we're resonsible for the remaining balance. They didn't listen to our concerns or show any care. We ended up paying the 60%.They only care about your money and how much more they can charge from you. They don't have a structure, management, and customer care. Overall, very poor experience. Been going for about a year now. Just 3 days a week: nothing crazy. Getting super jacked was never a goal of mine: regardless, I've seen noticeable improvement in my overall fitness since starting here.

The gym itself is pretty small, compared to something like a planet fitness, bit has a good variety of machines for different body groups, and it's rarely so busy that there is a line for any particular machine.

Staff is personable and trainers aren't prone to let you get off slacking without at least a little DM shaming. They'll push you to do your reps and make progress.

Great place to frequent for someone looking for a local gym. Prices are pretty reasonable as well.

When all the gyms closed down, this little neighborhood gym stayed open - all day 24 /7. they supplied all the sanitizing gear, and I could go in the early morning when no one else would be there.
Now that the pandemic is over, the club is still clean - cleaner than ever. They are diligent to quickly repair damaged or broken equipment. They bought an entire new set of dumbbells to replace the old wornout ones.
It is always open. It is open during an ice storm. It is open on Christmas morning. And it is only a mile and a half away from my house.

Edit: I previously wrote a scathing review of this gym, a review that is still underneath this edit in case you'd like to see the whole story. TL;DR is that they mistakenly forgot to cancel my membership and charged me for a few months, ultimately sending me to collections. HOWEVER, the manager of this gym went above and beyond for me. After months of missed calls, I suddenly hear back, and the manager immediately apologizes and tells me they've had a mix-up. No gaslighting, no obfuscating; pure honesty and respectability. After that, without me having to anything further, he proceeds to close the account, wipe the balance owed and even contacts the credit agency for me to have that removed. While this was a stressful experience, I very rarely meet gyms that are this principled and honest. This really redeemed them in my eyes.

One of the worst gym experiences I’ve had. I signed up for a single month since I was only visiting family for a few weeks. I was told I needed to submit a notice of cancellation 30 days in advance, so I asked to cancel the same day I signed up. The employee who signed me up told me it was all handled and that I was good. Then, when I came to return my gym fob and confirm cancellation, the employee on call could not seem to find my account, but eventually told me everything had been cancelled and I was good to go. However, a month later they continued to charge me. I tried calling their office 4x despite being quite busy but they never answered, so I asked my credit card to charge back the cost. THEY THEN PROCEEDED TO RUN MY ACCOUNT FOR ANOTHER 4 MONTHS AND THEN SEND ME TO COLLECTIONS. The worst part is, because I had relied on the good word of the employees, and because they never provided any physical print outs of their actions, I have no documentation aside from hearsay to contest the collections. Possibly the worst gym experience I’ve ever had, I would avoid this gym at all costs. The gym itself was alright, nothing special but not particularly bad, but the process of ending your membership will be absolute hell.

For all of you picky people out there like myself, this gym is a hidden gem! It is not a very big gym, but it is never crowded. I have struggled to find a gym that offers a comfortable environment and professional health coaches who are actually invested in your goals rather than trying to sell you something. Let me tell you, if you’re anything like me and need someone to help you be more consistent about going to the gym, you’re looking in the right direction. Jarret is a PHENOMENAL health coach who provided me with a very detailed consultation that included setting smaller goals to achieve my bigger one. He helped me understand what I was eating and the types of workouts I need to do to get to where I want to be. He gets me pumped as soon as I walk into the gym and really motivates me to keep working towards my goal!! I trust him and I am positive that with my hard work and his expertise, I will be able to get to my goal for the first time in years. Joel is another really great motivator too!!! He always welcomes me at the door with the biggest smile on his face and makes me feel comfortable about coming in. He also shares words of encouragement which help me throughout my workout. I am simply impressed with the staff at this gym, and I am hard to please. I work in HR and would hire both of them for wellness if I could! If working with a coach is important to you, get a membership. The staff makes it an awesome experience!

I went to the location on independence parkway and the doors were locked. I called inside and received no answer why everyone just stares so I decided to call the location in Richardson and nice guy by the name of Colby informed me that this location is short staffed so basically I’m assuming no one is on site although he was very kind and offer me to come sign up at his location and I would be able to access the Plano location therefore after I gave the rating a 2 bc it is unprofessional not to have staff available at all locations to attend to clients needs in the event something happens or simply just to answer questions

Overall I love this gym, it's not even 5 minutes from my house. Warning though, last time I was there a man got my attention by putting his hand on my waist and left it there for a couple seconds. I had my headphones in but he made no attempt to get my attention by waving or anything like that. He and the other gentleman he was with had also been watching me for well over 30 minutes so I was keeping them in my line of sight. I was just finishing a set of sit ups when he walked up behind me. I should've told one of the trainers that was in the office but I was incredibly creeped out and uncomfortable so I left. Both were at least 60 years old and white.

I am really disappointed in my experience here. I have been a member at all of the big gyms in the Metroplex. I was excited to get a membership here because it is close to my house, open 24/7 and smaller in size. I don't really use most of the amenities the bigger gyms offer.

I stopped by last Saturday to see if I could get a quick tour and sign up. The doors were locked so I called the number a couple of times and left a message. Nobody answered or called me back. I thought no big deal. With the pandemic they are probably requiring appts. Went home booked an appt for Monday. I showed up on Monday a few minutes early for my appt. I waited over 20 minutes for the guy that I had an appt with to show up. He never showed up so I left.

I am surprised by the lack of interest in my recurring revenue or my membership. I have never visited a gym before where they weren't pushing you to join. Not this place. They could have cared less about my money or time wasted on trying to support their business. Oh well

I’ve trained at a lot of gyms. Some big with every amenity imaginable. Some with nothing much at all. What I like about this Anytime Fitness is it’s big enough to have everything I need. It’s also small enough it really feels like a community gym. Everyone learns each other’s names. People clean up after themselves. No feeling intimidated whatsoever. It’s been around for a wile and I hope it stays around after all this Covid-19 stuff gets better.

Once the pandemic hit I was out of a job and on the official anytime fitness website it said they were not going to charge your account for the month of April since all the gyms had to be closed for the lockdown. However they still charged me the usual monthly fee so I sent an email to this location and they said they were going to issue me a refund. Two weeks went by and I still hadn't received my refund so I sent another email and he apologized and said he was going to initiate the refund again. Anyway it is now June and I never received a refund. Usually I'm not the type of person to argue with any businesses. However in my opinion they were being really unreasonable, I was short on money at the time so that would've really helped me out. It doesn't even matter to me now honestly, I'm just glad my yearly membership expired in May so I will not be coming back here. :)

I've been a regular at this gym almost since it's inception - going back to 2009/2010. I must say over the years, through different ownerships, the gym has been a well run place - clean, well organized, and functional. However, over the past several months, the gym is overrun with trainers and their trainees - while this may be good financially, for the owner, it creates a resource issue for regular members. Many trainers (especially the males!) have the mentality of an occupation army, care only about their trainees, display a lack of sensitivity to others in the gym, and hog up work out stations. Why not set aside some time that limits the number of trainers using the gym? This will free up space and resources and those of us who have flexibility, can work out in those hours. Also I would definitely recommend that trainers go through a course on awareness and sensitivity. Can't hurt!

I travel for business. I joined anytime fitness due to the great facilities around the country I would have access to when not at home. I called to verify the Zumba schedule for tonight and spoke with a man who kept saying "my club". Leading me to believe he is the owner. I was told I would have to pay a drop in fee to take the class because I am a visiting member. And he wasn't very nice about it. I have never been told this by any other club I have visited. He went on to tell me he pays his instructors $30 a class. I could avoid the fee if I transferred my membership to his club and paid my dues to him. Hey, he would pay the instructor fee even if I wasn't in the class. CHEAP! It was only $5 but I is the principle. If you are looking at joining a club, I would stay away from this one. These actions lead me to believe you would get screwed out of every penny possible. Terrible customer service.

Nice place with good equipment. However, I have to disagree with the majority of the other reviewers; the place is NOT very clean. Perhaps the newness of the place is misleading. At first glance it does look clean but after going there for a couple of months it is obviously cleaned infrequently. There is a persistent layer of dust on the cardio equipment - which I use extensively. My concern is that if I can see a layer of dust.. What am I not able to see? Whenever one of the employees is there he just sits in his office and surfs the internet and watches movies. Overall a nice facility but I am always concerned about workout facilities that are not cleaned regularly; they are breeding grounds for bacteria.

PS: I have used the ANYTIME FITNESS on PRESTON @ FRANFORD and it is amazing ... definitely a 5 STAR facility. VERY clean. The husband/wife owners treat the place like it is their home.

Great facility and staff. The equipment is always clean and maintained. This location isn't huge as far as overall floor space and amount of equipment go, but they have everything I need for my workouts and I have rarely had to wait for equipment so no complaints there. They also offer a lot of classes here as well. I personally haven't tried the classes, but they always seem to have a good turnout so I imagine they are pretty good. I would recommend this place if you live in the vicinity and are looking for a quiet place to work out where you don't have to wait for equipment.

For the price, this is a great gym. I mostly use the machines (treadmill/elliptical), and I've never had to wait for one. I also have a membership at one of the larger chain gyms in the area, and it's always crowded, has broken machines, and is generally dirty. No so here. Mornings (8-9am) are never really crowded, which is great to me.

This is a wonderful gym that provides all of the necessities anyone needs to increase physical health. This gym has given me the opportunity to meet new people and stay in shape. It is rarely over crowded and has phenomenal equipment. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating. I am looking forward to being here for a while.

Best gym I've ever been to! I was looking for a gym that had kickboxing, and I found Anytime Fitness down the street from me. I was so excited that the classes were included with the membership, and I would have 24 hour access to the gym. I have grown to LOVE this place, the people, and the workout experience. The gym is ALWAYS maintained and kept up, including the cleanliness and equipment. There are so many different types of classes, and they are offered at so many different times throughout the week, so you can pick and choose what works with your schedule. If you aren't interested in classes and want to do your own thing; all the resources are available. It's a very friendly and warming environment. I recommend this gym to anyone no matter what kind of workout you are wanting - they've got the tools for you to use!!

GREAT GYM!!! Have been going to the Plano Anytime Fitness for years now! The staff takes the time to get to know everyone and is always super helpful!! The facility is very well kept up, and even offers a ton of great classes! Some gyms can be very overwhelming with the mass amounts of people and equipment - this place makes working out feel relaxing, enjoyable, and still productive (they have everything you would need). Its very AFFORDABLE as well. I would highly recommend this gym to everyone!

I have been to almost all locations of anytime fitness in Dallas/Plano/Allen/McKinney area and this one is no doubt THE BEST!! They have tons of different classes (yoga, zumba, kickboxing, etc), the staff is super friendly, the place is ALWAYS clean! It's perfect and super affordable! I have recommended this place to all my friends and they love it!

I have visited several anytime fitness gyms but the one on Independence Pkwy in Plano is my favorite. I like the fact it is open 24/7. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Jeff and Keith are tops!

Anytime Fitness locations are privately owned so they can be hit or miss. The one on Independence stays clean, cool, and is an environment I look forward to working out in. The owner is flexible and clearly pays attention to the facility and his clients. I would recommend joining here.

I have been with Anytime Fitness in Plano since they opened. I absolutely love working out there. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. I have worked out at other places and have never felt at ease or at home like I do here. Jeff is an awesome manager and has always provided me with excellent customer service. Great equipment, location is perfect and CLEAN!!!--I was amazed at the quality of this gym was when I signed up. Amenities and location are what a fitness center with today's consistent fitness user requires. There are multiple gyms/fitness centers you can choose from, however, you gain efficiencies that a smaller, less crowded facitilty, such as Anytime Fitness provides. This facility provides everything, and more, for the person who requires a professional staff, state of the art equipment, incredibley clean "gym" for everyday use. I've used all popular fitness centers/gyms for 20+ years and Anytime Fitness is by far the best.

I was a member of another health club for over seven years. A friend of mine referred me to Anytime Fitness, Plano over 1 year ago. From the minute I walked into the facility, I realized how much better the club was than what i was accustomed to. Beginning from the cleanliness, to the condition of the equipment and the professionalism of all the employees. I know first hand that other 24 hour facilities are 24 hours in name only and have numerous restrictions on the club hours. Whereas Anytime Fitness provides true 24 hour access with your own personal key. At other facilities, when the equipment breaks they simply put an "out of order" sign on it. It usually takes weeks for it to be repaired. At Anytime Fitness, I have never seen a piece of equipment out of order. Also, their state of the art equipment is updated on an annual basis which I love. Even when I have seen a pad with a tear in it, it was replaced immediately. The sanitatizer's for the equipment and your hands are well stocked at all times. One of the two owners, who are very approachable and knowledgeable, are there seven days a week and up to 80 hours a week which is way more than their advertised times. After one year of being a member and being there everyday, I have nothing but extremely positive comments on this facility.

I have been a member of several area fitness facilities and tried out the rest. I joined Anytime Fitness for several reasons. I was looking for a place to workout not a social club. Anytime has all the equipment I need and use and a great mix of free weight equipment, circuit training equipment and the latest cardio equipment. Although I do not participate in their Zumba classes, I have observed them and they appear to be competitive to anyone's. The instructers are very qualified according to their bio's. The aspect that is most appealing is having the opportunity to workout at whatever time I can fit it in. Most of the time that I'm working out, I share the club with a handful of people like it is my own personal place. With respect to the cleanliness of the facility, it is miles ahead of the other clubs that I been a member of or have visited. The staff couldn't be more nice and it makes you feel like you are a family member more than just a club member. I wouldn't work out any where else but Anytime Fitness, Plano!

I have been a member of Anytime Fitness Plano for over 2 years. The facility is great, always clean, great equipment, and an excellent friendly staff. In addition to the top notch equipment in the main gym area, they offer a wide variety of classes. If anyone is interested in Zumba, they have two of the best Zumba instructors that I have ever had the opportunity to take classes with and they offer both Zumba and Zumba toning many times during the week.
