Can even get ahold of anyone… office is closed.. 4 o’clock on a Tuesday.. Call there earlier left a message and no call back… YMCA it is..
Edit: turns out there’s only one person working there. She’s runs everything herself unfortunately but it’s on the owners not her..

Nearly a year ago, I took down my previous negative review after the manager assured me they would honor my original membership rate (that was after they raised it after saying they would not). Unfortunately, despite that promise, I've continued to be charged a higher rate ever since.
I've reached out multiple times to resolve it, but now they've stopped responding entirely. It's disappointing to feel misled and ignored after being a loyal member for over a decade.
I genuinely hoped to keep this review positive, but the lack of honesty and follow-through speaks for itself.

We had an appointment to check out the location in Wimberley and the trainer never showed up. It's also completely impossible to reach anyone by phone even during hours that they are presumably staffed.
We keep getting messages to reschedule the tour and there is no response when we explain that we showed up but the trainer didn't. I guess we won't be joining.

Awesome gym and (from what I hear) much better now that it's under new management. Has a wide range of equipment that seems relatively well maintained, and it tends to be not very crowded, which I truly appreciate. On top of that, it's open forever! Gotta Love that. Showers, three bathrooms, machines, pulley systems, free weights, TRX, and tons more. Highly recommend going and checking them out!
UPDATE: treadmills fixed as of NOV2022!
UPDATE: I am asserting that my membership was explicitly canceled by Dakota, who, despite no longer being with the company, has left me in a frustrating situation. He misrepresented himself as the General Manager and assured me that I would not be charged any further. Now, I'm receiving relentless debt collector calls from Anytime Fitness claiming I owe nearly $300. This is unacceptable.
I’ve gathered confirmation from several sources that Dakota was pocketing money from customers and manipulating their access keys without any regard for ethical conduct.
Now, I’m forced to engage in the dispute process with the collection agency, which includes sending emails and consolidating evidence just to prove I shouldn’t owe hundreds of dollars for a membership that I canceled months ago. This situation is outrageous and needs to be addressed immediately.
FWIW: Tiffany is awesome and has been cordial throughout my interactions

Tiffany is doing a great job as manager at the gym. We have gotten lots of new equipment, repairs etc.
I do believe it would be beneficial if she had someone on weekends to deep clean the machines. In the past a high school student would do this in exchange for membership. Suggest posting a flyer to that effect at the high school.

This used to be my favorite location in my area until the new management. Old management was big on addressing members letting non-members into the gym without a pass. I have lost count of how many times I've driven to the gym this month and left because it's filled with teenagers letting all their friends in. I'm not saying one friend here, one friend there, I've seen entire groups be let in by their friend. They're also young and loud which is unfortunate because some of us go to the gym for some quiet and it's irritating that I pay my membership every month along with the maintenance fees so these kids can just go in for free. Safety is out the window at night since anyone can just walk in and don't get me started on the liability if one of these kids gets injured.

The gym is conveniently located and open all the time which is great.. The new manager is great and friendly.. It seems like anything broken is being repaired fairly promptly I know parts have to be ordered.. My only complaint is not a single soul is wiping down their sweat! I just witnessed five people sweating all over the machines and not one person got a wipe. The spray bottles and towels are always there, people just aren't bothering to utilize them.. in this day and age with all these bugs going around it's really a necessity and probably should be better enforced with more signage and maybe walking around reminding people. I was following behind people with a wipe and they saw me but didn't bother to even wipe their next machine. Most of this is the members fault not the club's. People just don't care.. or think they're sweat is really sweet.

This place “used” to be great. Equipment is no longer well maintained and things are broken all the time. I’ve been a member since they first opened and have seen the changes with multiple ownerships. This is by far the lowest point I’ve seen it. My “grandfathered” and locked in monthly rate increased by more than $20/mo. The reason - new equipment and improvements. I have yet to see any of that. In fact, the a/c was broken half of last summer. Agree with other reviewers that there are teens running around there all the time - I’d still rather see them at the gym than getting into trouble. However, they need to clean up after themselves. Bottom line… Can you still get a good workout? Yes. I think it comes down to choosing between convenience and a higher quality experience. Such a shame it’s gone so far downhill.

"WE DONT CARE AMD IT SHOWS!" There's always trash all over the place, management is always absent during staffed hours, always a bunch of teenagers running around making a mess, not putting their equipment back, getting in people's way, shoving each other around yelling at the top of their lungs. Same broken razor blade sat on the floor in the bathroom for 2 weeks straight. Equipment wipes are always empty. Broken machines 24/7. They really don't care they only want your money. Save yourself the headach and go 30 min down the road to the AF in canyon lake. The management actually gives af there. 0/5 stars

This owner needs a vacation, new career, or some love. Stopped here for a workout on the road and the vibe is OFF. Whoever runs this outfit has no regard for the fact that Wimberley is a vacation destination and there WILL be guests coming through here. Salty, threatening, micromanaging signs posted all over the place. Two stars bc they had what I needed to get my workout in and I didn’t get kicked out for working out in a sports bra without a shirt per the big sign up front 👍 really?

Glad to see they are once again promising to fix A/C now in July 2022. It was problematic before Covid. Broken for well over 2 years. 87 degrees inside at noon. Must get into the 90s around 4. New owners spent $ doubling size and spiffing up place but won’t fix A/C. Same for 1/2 treadmills don’t work for over a year. Call to manuf reveals plenty of parts. Owner wants to attract new member $ but won’t fix ac or equip. Some say they looking to lease out to another tenet and will close out. Meanwhile they won’t invest in repairs. No regard for members. Rarely staffed.

This was my first time working out at Anytime Fitness in Wimberley but I will certainly be back next time I’m in town. The gym has everything you need for your workouts but what put it over the top for me was the service. Even as as a tourist working out on a day pass I felt like a full member by the level of service provided by Dakota. I highly recommend this gym if your the area.

Made an appointment with them to set up a new membership and they didn’t show up. Appointment was confirmed for 10am and they even sent me a text message 10 minutes beforehand to remind me to be there! Then they weren’t there… a friend had dropped me off, too, so I spent a good while in their unattractive parking lot until my friend came back to get me. Anyway, the management is clearly less than competent, for whatever that is worth.

Apparently the only way to get a response from them is to leave a publicly shaming review. My membership was supposed to be canceled under the previous manager Joe! That shows you how long I've been trying to get my membership canceled. No phone calls have been returned and they now owe me more than 1,000$

When Covid hit last year my Doctor told me to avoid going to a Fitness Facility. I sent an email and left several messages begin in July attempting to cancel my membership. No one ever responded to any of my messages and they continued to bill my Credit Card.
I then moved about 90 miles away last November. In February 2021 my two year contract was up so I once again left several messages telling them I wanted to cancel my membership. Again no one ever returned my calls. After 3 months I was left with no option but to block them from charging my Credit Card. Lo and behold within 24 hours I got a text from someone stating that he ‘understands that I wanted to cancel my membership’. When I tell him what has been happening, he instructs me to send a letter via certified mail to the Wimberley address. I immediately did so. When the post office tried to deliver the letter, they were told that no one at the facility was authorized to receive the letter. The postal delivery person left a notice to contact the post office for re-delivery. That was last week, as of this evening no one at Anytime Fitness Wimberley has contacted the Post office. I have followed up with several more emails and texts and once again I am getting no response. I have contacted the better business bureau and filed a complaint. If you are thinking of joining this Anytime Fitness, I hope you read this and the other posted reviews.

After getting COVID and not going back to the gym they continued taking payments out of my account despite the gym being closed as well. I told the manager multiple times to cancel the membership. This took 2 tries before they finally got the membership cancelled. Why they would continue to take payments during the start of Covid and shut downs is beyond me. And NOW, 3/31/21 I get a notice they sent the membership cancellation to collections and wanted the whole contract paid in full despite the situation. I will not name drop, but the gentlemen that manages this POS should really get in touch and work to resolve this as he hasn’t returned any phone calls or anything. Not smart in a small town you Idiot.

I really dislike writing negative reviews but honestly, the service at this gym has warranted it. As a customer service rep myself, it does not bring me joy to be curt with people on the phone but I am really disappointed with the service at this gym.
I cancelled my membership in October 20' because of issues surrounding covid. I was in the middle of testing for Lupus and with no one enforcing mask mandates I figured I needed to just work out at home to be safe.
I was WELL past my 2 year contract, being a customer for close to 3 years now. I was told when I cancelled in October, I would still have to pay Nov and Dec, which was a pain, but I understood. At that time I was cancelling mine and my boyfriend (different last name).
When I saw a charge on my account in Jan, I stopped by, The rep said there was no cancellation on file for my boyfriends policy, so we signed another one. I then saw YET AGAIN in Feb, a payment came out, for another $46.
After calling 3 times during the week and leaving a voicemail, I finally called during work to ensure I could reach some one. I was told "oh yeah, that's normal, that's the time frame, oh this is a normal thing"
So, you are telling me, A policy I cancelled in October, but by a mistake in THE GYMS system, they continued to bill my account and " that is just normal". Makes me really sad bc I am not even upset about the mistake, I get it, we all make mistakes, but I would like to have at least the January and February payments put back in my account. Doesn't look like that will ever happen but I did promise I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone. Don't waste your money, you may not ever get it back.

Anytime Fitness in Wimberley is not coping with COVID-19 very well.
They continued to charge me for dues throughout the pandemic, even when their location was closed and they refuse to cancel my contract. They told me that they would put my account on hold if I came into their office to sign a piece of paper. I explained that is not a reasonable solution to the problem of physical distancing.
I was told by the manager Pierce who happily accepted my bank information in February 2020 that I could cancel at any time with a $50 cancelation fee. A month later I email Pierce to say that due to asthma, I will no longer be able to attend the gym because of COVID-19. Silence.
Pierce is no longer there. I am being told that Pierce was wrong about being able to cancel and that it is not their problem. Also, not their problem is that Pierce didn't explain that a monthly membership was an option; no, he locked me into a year contract that I cannot get out of, even due to an Act of God.
Further, the communication from the gym about closures, openings, and how they are handling the situation with COVID-19 has been non-existent.
I have reached out politely and kindly via phone and email numerous times and am continuously not answered or given the run around. I even offered to 'buy out' half of my contract up front, explaining that COVID-19 is not their fault, nor is it mine. I am very frustrated.
I have tried very hard to give this business a fair opportunity before posting a negative review.
UPDATE
after months of trying to get somewhere with them, they sent us to collections. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

They are THIEVES!!! Stay Away!!! Terrible people and a deplorable business! I gave a 30 day notice and signed all the paperwork, cancelling my monthly contract with them since I was moving out of Wimberley. 4 months and almost $200 later, and they are STILL taking money from my account illegally and on a monthly basis. DO NOT trust their charm for a second, they are thieves!!!

They are continuing to charge people during the virus even though they are closed. Their excuse is that they are a small business and cant afford rent during this time, so they need everyone elses money for services that they are not providing to pay for it. This is the only gym I know of that is continuing to charge people to save themselves during this time. Absolutely disgusting.

I have been a member of Anytime Fitness for 5 years and I can’t imagine working out at any other facility. Jo Wilson sets the pace for this terrific club. She runs the facility and is so very personable, she knows everyone and greets all on a first name basis. Anytime Fitness is a very clean gym and broken machines are repaired in a timely manner. I couldn’t give this facility a higher recommendation. Also, if you are in need of a trainer, Blake is the man you need to see. The gym is lucky to have him.

This gym is very dirty. They have a giant fan in one of the bathrooms because of the mold on the ceiling!!! Mirrors never cleaned and dusty, ductaped equipment. I tried to cancel and can't unless I have a drs note. I was told I could go to another gym but I can't because I have to be at this gym for 30days. I had been a previous member back in 2010-2011 and had no problems like this, I thought with them expanding it would be better but it's not. Just waaay dirty. So what you can do to better my service Anytime fitness, is by getting rid of my contract. I'm only 13 days in and want to leave this company forever. I can pay less or equal pay for a better and CLEANER gym.
This is not a clean and equip gym.
Also the upgrade in April went towards some blinds for the widows.... that's not gym equipment

Been a member for 6 months now, and there are always broken machines. They also charge like $80 every 6 months for new equipment... havent seen anything new yet...
UPDATE
After about two years of membership, it was time for me to suspend my account because I was moving overseas for several months. I called up, spoke with a gal named Holly and requested.my account be put on hold.
Several months go by and I return state side to fina a letter from Collections stating I owe a total of $450. Keep in mind, 3 months had passed and my monthly fee is $80. Therefore the total should be $240 and NOT $450.
I contacted the club, and let them know there was a mistake. I asked them to please correct the amount that collections has on file and I'll get this paid. The club refusesed. I then contacted ABC billing and had a similar experience. However, ABC said if the club is showing a different amount than collections, the club needs to call collections and report the correct amount. Lastly I contacted collections and they confirm that there is an incorrect amount, however the club needs to call and make the correction.
Almost two weeks of me fighting with this both over the phone and in person, and the club is still refusing to fix their mistake. I want to pay what I owe, and not an incorrect amount.
Collections called today and said that my deadline has arrived and Iust make a payment. $200 has been paid. Ugh.
It's amazing that this company can claim a false amount and force me to pay it. I even have documented emails and dates/times of everything, however no one will accept the blame and fix this.
Ultimately, when I placed my account on hold, I was supposed to sign some document, however when I spoke with the temp manager, she never said anything about it.
If you are looking for a gym that you can trust, I wouldn't look at the Anytime Fitness in Wimberley.
