Not great. $20/person with no parking, hardly anywhere to sit, barely any A/C. Also, my daughter was playing and went to go fill up her water bottle and there are no water fountains even for players! Had to go buy her an overpriced bottle of water just so she’d have something to drink while playing! Unacceptable.

It was nice. Everyone there was nice & I was impressed cause I read some reviews and they wasn't good. But im glad I got to see the place & interact with the lady at the door she is a very nice lady. And the rest room were clean. I have no complaints at all. Sometimes you have to see for yourself. It wasn't bad at all.

I have been coming to this place for years and I will no longer support them. Food is overpriced and not worth it. The young man was trying to do the right thing and give me my change but the female was rude and took the money out of his hand before he could hand it to me.When I addressed it I was met with anger and disrespect..The female called her mother over who refused to even listen to what happened and said no refund! Terrible customer service at the concession stand and theft of people's hard earned money! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!!

Charge you $20 entry per day but provide no parking. They tell you to park in other business's parking lots. Theres a few fold our chairs to sit on and they are one foot off the out of bounds line so the kids have no where to move except ON the spectators. The courts are undersized and they let 8th and 9th graders play in 4th and 5th grade tournaments. Even when its brought to their attention, they look the other way... all a money grab. Witnessed 3 fights in the past 4 weeks. Kids AND adults. Pathetic and low integrity.
If you think im exaggerating in ANY way- see for yourself.

Pros: Lady at front desk was polite and the A/C was acceptable, not cool, but not crazy hot like some reviews stated. Refs in the first game were fair.
Cons: My daughter brought in waters for her team and then some older woman comes up to me and very rudely tells me you can't have any outside food or drink and that I need to leave. I politely told her it was water for the kids playing to drink and she snapped something like, "you need to leave now." I was polite and did what she requested. The kids had to walk through the parking lot to get the water. $20 per person to get into this facility is outrageous with very limited parking. Refs in the second game were overtly supportive of the home team. Not just a little biased, I'm talking about calling 10 plus calls for the home team that never actually were warranted. Wouldn't have been surprised if the refs are family members of the home team.

This gym stunk very bad. The AC did not work. I wasn’t even playing. I was watching my son and I was sweating like I was playing so no telling how bad the kids feel having to play in this heat.

They are overly fixated on whether you're bringing food into the venue (likely because they don’t want to miss any opportunity to sell their own items). There's always a grumpy lady at the entrance inspecting bags. What an inconvenience! On top of that, you still have to pay $20 per person just to get in.

This facility remains to have poor, unprofessional ownership and referees. They never clean the restrooms with the same feces stains in the toilet from last week and they charge $15-$20 to get in. There is always so much mess here. I literally hate when our coaches sign up for tournaments here. The referees are friends of the coaches and owners and they pick the teams to cheat for. We have it all on video. They don't even deserve the 1 star rating, but it's the only way Google allowed me to post this review. Nasty, trifling, money hungry owners. I really hope our coaches will play in tournaments in other locations, even if we have to drive far.

First and foremost i’d love to start off by saying that this establishment should not be visited for ANYTHING other than being shut down.
So far, i’ve had nothing but more than horrible experiences. The first time something happened, it was because of the unprofessionalism of the owner’s wife. She had a very horrible attitude and butted into a conversation that had nothing to do with her; then proceeded to call her children and a man by the nickname of “J.B.” in which resulted into a threat being made (2 years ago). This year, 2024 the referee was more than unprofessional, making faces and comments towards players AND spectators. She laughed as in she was implying that she was cheating the kids out of the game. Once a spectator mentioned it, she decided to huddle up with the referee and talk trash amongst themselves. Then proceeded to bring the owner (woman) to the game and act completely unprofessional and so did the woman. In the business world, the customers statements should matter, rather than taking the word of someone who is working for the establishment. I felt very undervalued and uncomfortable.
Next, the situation in the bathroom is horrible. The toilet paper holder, the paper towels and the toilet paper sit on TOP of the trashcan inside of the bathroom. There is also a “womens reproductive product disposal” box on the wall which is extremely unsanitary being that it is OPEN.
Though the name changed from “Star Sports Center” to “Ark Sports”, it’s still under the same unprofessional management and owners. Every year, i dread having to drive to this place and deal with their unprofessionalism and lack of cleanliness. There are no real A.C.’s either. They have fans pointed at the courts (none for spectators).
I would avoid going to this facility for AAU tournaments UNLESS you would like to waste your money and be cheated out of a game and sit in POOR conditions. If there was an option to give a negative star, i wouldn’t hesitate to give one. In advance, we have video evidence of said accusations.

Customer service is horrible at best. Lady at the front door acts like she is doing you a favor of letting you into the facility. Basketball goals are outdated. There is no seating space for fans. A/c was broken. You're better off having your tournament at a city park instead of this place.

This is my first experience at this facility, and I must say that I am pleased with what I have seen thus far. The air conditioning works amazingly well, especially for the number of people that attend the games each weekend, it's packed, and still very comfortable. The staff, from the front door to concessions, have been nothing short of helpful and attentive whenever I have had any questions or minor concerns (concerns due to me being new to this AAU world). I would definitely recommend this awesome group of people and facility, Coach Sam and the rest of his coaching staff, along with Linda ROCK!!!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Star Sports Center, and I must say that it was one of the most disappointing and unprofessional encounters I have ever had. From the moment I stepped into their facility, I could tell that this was not a place where professionalism and customer service were a priority.
First and foremost, the staff at Star Sports Center were shockingly rude and unhelpful. It seemed like they could care less about their customers and were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of those who came for their services. When I approached the front desk with a question, I was met with a dismissive attitude and felt like I was bothering them.
To add to the dismal experience, the seating arrangements were inadequate and uncomfortable. There were only a few chairs available. It was apparent that no effort was made to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for visitors. I had to stand for an extended period before someone finally vacated a seat, and even then, it was far from comfortable.
Furthermore, the lack of air circulation in the facility was unbearable. The place felt stuffy and suffocating, making it difficult to concentrate on the task at hand. It's baffling that an organization that deals with customers regularly would not prioritize basic amenities like proper ventilation.
Overall, my experience with Star Sports Center was extremely disappointing, and I cannot in good conscience recommend their services to anyone! The unprofessional and rude behavior of the staff, combined with the inadequate seating and lack of proper ventilation, creates an unwelcoming and uncomfortable atmosphere that is hard to overlook.
I sincerely hope that the management of Star Sports Center takes these criticisms seriously and makes significant improvements to address these issues. It's essential for any business to prioritize customer satisfaction and provide a comfortable and professional environment for their clientele. Until such changes are made, I would advise others to seek services elsewhere to avoid the unpleasant experience I had.

Coach Roach is all about money and making sure his team gets all the calls whenever his team plays a game. The lady at the front is unprofessional as well and has a bad attitude. Whenever I would ask a question to him he gets an attitude or act like he doesn't want to answer. The place was very hot as well!! I pulled my team from a game because I did not want my players getting hurt. We will no longer go to this money hungry tournament! Stay away if you can!!

If I could give negative stars for a rating I would. The many other reviews stating the poor management, lack of sportsmanship shown by the owner (who's team also plays in the tournaments who's refs are in his pocket) and unsafe practices are 100% correct. The staff are rude. The owner has no scruples. Our coach, rightly so, pulled out of our tournament this weekend to keep our girls safe from the bullies of the owners team. We will not return to this venue.

First of all the lady working the front desk is rude. She asked what ticket we would purchase and as soon as we told her we had the weekend passes, she cut us off and got defensive. Later on I told her the restrooms were dirty and she ignored it and they continued to be dirty. To get charged 50 dollars or 15 dollars a day and the service and bathroom looking like a nasty gas station is unacceptable. I wish they would be more warm and welcoming instead of treating guests like they are out to do something. Integrity of the establish is questionable. Hoping they will learn from this and grow.

Star sports is a top notch facility with vending and clean restrooms but that’s not what makes Star Elite great.
What makes Star elite is the owner. Unlike most businesses It’s more than just money. Sam makes extra efforts to help the kids on a personal level. Whether it’s extra gym time teaching the game or personal growth Sam is there.
If I had a more expansive vocabulary I could truly express how unique and exemplary this facility is.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews especially for Black owned businesses but the truth needs to be stated cuz conditions are not safe for kids. There is NO cool air flowing inside the facility. I was sweating up a storm just sitting down watching my child play. The kids looked like they were gonna pass out. The restroom is not presentable and when you factor in the heat w/o proper ventilation the whole scene is unacceptable. There is very little room for spectators to enjoy the game. The parking is limited and the experience is further worsened when the owner’s AAU team gets preferential calls. This happened not once or twice but EVERY game I saw. If you want people to support you should listen to our concerns and address them. I won’t step foot back into this oven but maybe others will benefit if changes are made.

Reasons for my low rating are as follows:
1. The facility is BEYOND HOT, which is not safe for the players - they can easily pass out and when there is no medical staff/trainer there…not good for the teams. And if I’m paying to get in, I should not have to suffer like that.
2. The owner/ manager of the facility hires the refs for the tournaments…this is normally ok, but when the people you hired refs the games of your girl basketball team, that IS conflict of interest and they will cheat for you.
I WILL NOT and CANNOT support this facility any longer.

Star sports tournaments are money grab tournaments and unsafe for kids. this facility is unsafe.
I had a official tell me
outside, not knowing I was a coach that he is not a official he’s just there for the money .
I saw kids get hurt and needed medical attention and no medical staff was there at all. had to way 45 minutes for The paramedics to get there. No body over 18 working at all. Bathrooms not working no air conditioning.
I will be making a call to the city about this facility in the morning.
Out of all the places I have been this is the most dangerous place for kids I have seen.
yes I pulled my team and other coaches pulled their team today If coaches and players are held accountable it’s time these Directors of these tournaments be held accountable.

I don't like to leave bad reviews because it can hurt business. But, if I have to pay close to $100 for a family of five and have no A/C running, poor restroom conditions, rude staff, and attitude from the concessionaire. Call it what it is. The business must set standards period.

Our kids played basketball games at Star a few times this month and the experience was terrible. The facility is dirty, poorly maintained (the pictures online aren't what you'll experience), there is very little space to sit to watch a game, and very little parking. This place is better suited as a cheap low quality practice facility and is not at all set up for games or tournaments. The owner/manager was rude and showed no concern.

Had an AAU tournament here yesterday. The owners were not wearing masks and did not require their customers to wear mask. They were more concerned with the money than protecting their customers from COVID. We just want a safe environment for our kids to play ball during the pandemic. When I expressed my concerns the owners got an attitude with me and said they can’t require their customers to wear mask. How do you expect your customers to follow the mask mandate if you do not. They did not practice social distancing as people were right next to each other in the gym. Be responsible owners during this time. Do your best to protect your customers from COVID-19.
