The Y is for everyone. At the YMCA of the Golden Crescent our programs, services and initiatives enable kids to realize their potential, prepare teens for college, offer ways for families to have fun together, empower people to be healthier in spirit, mind and body, prepare people for employment, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster a nationwide service ethic. And that's just the beginning.

This is my happy place! I am greeted by name and always made to feel welcome. I love that not only can I work out when I want to, I can also just hang out in one of the quiet areas. I love my YMCA community!

This place is pretty gross for $50 a month. You can make a wig with all the hair on the ground. No monthly guest passes is crazy. Could be so much better.

I finally wanted to write this review since we are moving out of Victoria. We joined in 2020 and I was a little apprehensive b/c of the previous reviews & how they said this place is misogynistic, care about what you wear, etc. From my personal experience for the last 3 years, I've never had ANY worker say anything about what I wear. The staff has become our extended gym family. The childcare staff, sports coordinator, front desk staff are all so kind, attentive and really care. We're going to miss this place. I will always recommend this gym for a family.

I have recently signed our child for swimming lessons. The website gave me some trouble but a girl at the front desk helped me and was very kind and friendly. Somehow I picked the wrong time slot and contacted the instructor Shelly who very kindly pointed out on how get it corrected. She was very kind as well. Keir help make the changes and he was very professional, patient, and kind. I'm excited to get started and hopefully eventually join.

Absolutely love the YMCA in Victoria. Unfortunately they are out of my budget for a gym. I will say they have the most awesome amenities of all the local gyms. Everything from scheduled classes, to a pool, dry and wet saunas, free weights, cable systems, to my absolute favorite, the racquetball court. If the price would come down just a tad, I would most definitely join up and be a lifetime member.

The Y is my “home” away from home. Friendly atmosphere, great staff, and now more great machines to use! The best gym in the area hands down.

I have been going here since 2020. I was 363lb. I didn't have much confidence. But the staff and people have been amazing. Michael is always friendly in every way possible. Really shows didication.. 2 years later the staff has not changed. The environment is amazing for big guys and small guys. I am 295 now and I am enjoying the journey. Much love to the people there.

Horrible customer service I had just barely got a 24 hour pass started working out for a couple days took my little siblings to workout ten mins later someone comes up to us saying we can’t have minors in the gym and our account is suspended, makes me upset because people at the door could’ve gave us a warning but didn’t. Also got kicked out for showing belly which again didn’t warn us about. I get real hater vibes from the employees better costumer service is needed

I have been attending the Y since 2018! The past few years I have gone to interactive and very helpful classes, each taught by instructors who really try to get to know you. No matter the time of day I go, the staff are consistently friendly and open to conversation or providing assistance. The facility is always clean and I feel right at home each time I show up. I would highly recommend the Y to those who are looking for after school care for their children or a place to relieve stress.

For the second time, my kid was left off the roster and coaches didn’t contact us.
The director told me everything is posted to the website for us to know, basically it was our responsibility and for us to contact them if there’s an issue. Does that include contact information to inquire about practice time?
How can we ever a hold of anyone if no one ever answers the phone when there’s an issue at the main office or different departments?
Very disappointed in their lack of communication, professionalism or helpfulness.

MISOGYNISTIC! misogynistic. Old fashioned and awful experiences with staff. Went in a crop top and was told nothing about it the day I signed up and did my entire workout but when I come the next day scan my card and walk in the women at the front desk say nothing to me still and smile at me, but the lady who’s cleaning the gym says I’m not allowed to wear a crop top or show my belly button?
So she told me to pull my tank top down and cover my belly and “Make sure you don’t do any workouts that would make your shirt come up”
she’d rather me pull my shirt down and show all of my cleavage than to show my belly button?
0 stars if I could. I’ve never felt more disrespected as a women in a gym before.
And she later came the check up on me during my workout to make sure my shirt didn’t come up.

Edit: I was contacted by a manager and there was a discrepancy in understanding the policy by the staff member. The manager reached out to me same day and was apologetic to the treatment I received. The policy as it stands is due to the facility being a Family oriented facility and is not new.
Very disappointed my first time working out in the facility. No issue with my attire was brought to my attention as I walked in... stood at the front desk and had a 2 min conversation with the lady... walked past 3 people wearing YMCA shirts ( to whom I gave a cheerful good morning). Then halfway through my 1st set one of the 3 people aforementioned interrupts me to tell me the lady at the front desk failed to tell me I couldn’t wear a crop top but I was okay to finish because my high rise tights covered my skin... oh and it’s a new rule because some of the MEN (really?! Ohhhkay) didn’t like them.
Well, I won’t be returning and I will be making sure that everyone I know knows that apparently we aren’t there to workout but instead the “men” can observe and pass judgement on females attire. Just pathetic!

The revamped Y is amazing! Welcoming reception area, always someone there to assist, large weight room, very clean ladies locker room, and many more facilities. Fantastic upgrade from when I visited in 1995.

Good gym for a quick workout. In my opinion, the only Con is some of the employees literally breathe down your back just watching what you do and walking back and forth like crazy. Feel like I'm being stared at all times. Not even done with the weights and they asked me to re rack if I was done. Other than that its very clean and organized.

This facility was recently remodeled. Excellent staff with much appreciation to Brice. I am very thankful for the kindness shown and accommodations made to allow us the use of shower facilities.

Some staff at the Y are kind and accomadating but the ones that arent are especially aggressive. I had been going for 2 solid months while being harassed by the lady (if you would call her that) named Juana. Between rude remarks that embarassed me and my wife, language used by her that my children shouldn't ever hear, or the blatant disregard for YMCA guidelines and harassment for 2 solid months, I can't recommend this facility to anyone. When I brought the issue up to the other directors/managers on staff it took several calls and several days worth of communication to get ahold of anyone or to have any communication from them. Once the communication was established the issue was blown over as if it wasn't serious. One particular time, the unwelcome demeanor and words from that employee had my wife leaving there in tears. Upon my mention that i was so upset I was considering filing a complaint on the employee and just working out at home, I immediately had social services called on me by the same employee in retaliation for my comment. The investigation is closed now with results being unfounded. This employee to the best of my knowledge still works at the Y. I am a professional web developer, computer repair tech, and rancher in my community and this heinous woman's actions as well as the Y's tolerance for it have made my family feel forever feel unsafe there and we have canceled our membership. Also at least 8 other families/friends/coworkers I personally know have revoked their membership for similar reasons.
If you value peace, respect, or the safety of your family. DO NOT go to the YMCA of Victoria as it is anything but family friendly.

I’ve been going to the ymca for years & today was the first day i left unhappy. I know the dress code i know all the rules. But today one of the employees Juana told me i couldn’t have my shirt tied. Didn’t give a reason why i couldn’t. She was very rude & disrespectful towards me & pretty much embarrassed me in front of everybody in the gym. People were staring & i wasn’t even arguing with her at all. But i didn’t have extra clothes so i was forced to leave & i was only there for 10 minutes. I know how to dress at this gym. I know not to show too much or wear short shorts. She also told me i couldn’t put my weights on the bench in front of the mirrors but I’ve never been told i couldn’t before, i only do it so my weights aren’t in the way when people are trying to walk around me, i wouldn’t want anybody to trip & hurt themselves. I’ve never came across such a rude/disrespectful employee before at this gym until today.

Love the gym, but not how they run things. Apparently if you have a nice curvy body, you’re only supposed to wear baggy sweats. I’ve been in trouble for wearing spandex that in no way show my butt. But smaller girls let their cheeks hang out and the employees don’t say anything to them. Also only certain girls can wear crop tops/certain guys wear cut off shirts. I guess they have favorites? Saw an old man walk around without a shirt today and they didn’t say anything, but god forbid the old lady working sees my thighs
