Solid Barry’s experience. The workout was tough in a good way and the instructor kept the pace and cues really clear without being over the top. Thomas was absolutely amazing. His energy level, motivation, and professionalism truly stood out throughout the entire class. He is extremely knowledgeable and very thorough in the way he conducts each part of the workout, making sure everyone understands proper form and stays engaged.
I’ve taken Barry’s classes in different states (and even other countries), and I can confidently say that Thomas is one of the best instructors the brand has overall. We need more instructors like him at Barry’s, he represents the best of what the experience should be.

Took James Mai’s Tuesday LIFT class for my first LIFT. Holy crap. His bio said his workouts were tough but I thought that was what every trainer said. Don’t let the cute face and calm delivery fool you: he delivered routines that were brutal. Just when I thought we were done he ordered up an AMRAP which left my buttocks shaking whilst sipping my after-class pumpkin spice shake. (You can skip the shake.) Would take his class the next time I’m in town but unfortunately he’s only teaching one day a week!

All the trainers are fabulous, but Christina is my favorite instructor. It’s a luxury gym. Showers and locker rooms are always clean. I’ve loved every smoothie I’ve tried. They run promotions to keep you motivated. It’s around $30-34 per class, cheaper if you do a membership. They offer TheraBody devices to aid in recovery.

I started Barry’s when I first moved to Houston, looking for a great workout and a sense of community—and I found both. The first couple of classes will rock you (in the best way), but stick with it and you’ll never look back. The energy in the red room is unreal, the music and vibes are always on point, and the instructors are world class—Maddy, Riley, Christina, Lacy, and Ethan are part of my regular rotation (and they’re all incredible in their own unique way). Nicole, Caroline, and everyone at the front desk are always so welcoming and kind. From start to finish, Barry’s is more than a workout—it’s an experience, and one of the best parts of my life in Houston.

I travel a lot for work, and I’ve been lucky enough to hit up Barry’s locations in NYC, San Francisco, Scottsdale, London, Sydney, and Melbourne. And let me tell you—out of all of them, Houston takes the crown! 👑 The energy, the vibes—it’s unmatched. The instructors are next-level, and the front desk staff? Absolute gems.
Big shoutout to Caroline at the front desk! She’s the friendliest face to walk in to, always goes the extra mile to make clients feel welcome, and seriously brings the good vibes every single time.

I walked into Barry’s running on fumes after a rough night of sleep. Lacy’s energy and vibe was next level—motivating, upbeat, and just what I needed to wake up. The Barry's week was one of my favorite events this year. I love Barry's in general and it gave me a break from my regular workout routine. Few things to note: your satisfaction with the class is affected by the instructor you select. So ask for recommendations based on your needs. If you're new ask for someone who's more experienced, if you like a certain pace, music, etc. The ladies at the front are typically really helpful with this. My recommendation is go to LACY, but hurry she's pregnant and I'm not sure when or how long she'll be out for.
Something new I learned they have an option for you to be on the mat the whole time and not touch the treadmill. I recommend doing both though.
The workout is pretty intense, but they give you options and modifications for you to go at your pace. I would say the 50min goes by fast so push yourself because you'll be mad at the end if you feel like you didn't give your all. Trust me!! If you can go a little faster or do an extra rep, do it!!

This class was super high energy. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but I survived with a smile!! Riti was our instructor for RUN X FULL BODY & she kept the upbeat vibes the entire time! It was honestly impressive & equally shocking how amazing her classroom management was haha but she kept us motivated for the whole 50 minutes. There were various sets where half the class was on the treadmill and the other half on the floor. The treadmillers were jogging, sprinting, & everything in between. The floor people were doing a lot of squats, bodyweight & weight lifting exercises. Then every few minutes the people on the treadmill would switch to the floor and vice versa. You really have to listen carefully and pay attention while the instructor is moving around shouting out what you’re supposed to do.
Parking is in a lot or on the street, both requires payment. There are lockers to store your belongings as well as showers in the bathrooms. They provide towels at eac station for the class as well. You be assigned a number for the treadmill & the floor section.
This is definitely not meant for someone who gets overstimulated easily but if you like chaotic exercise classes, I highly recommend. Try it out at least once, you won’t regret it!

I had my first class today, and I absolutely loved it! I’ll probably be sore for a few days, but it was definitely worth it. The atmosphere was fantastic overall, and I really enjoyed the music and red lights. The instructor, Maggie, was AMAZING! Before the class started, she made sure to check if anyone was new. When I raised my hand, she took the time to explain everything in detail and reassured me to take it easy if things got too challenging. I really appreciated her support, and I’ll definitely be back!

I left my session feeling frustrated and disappointed. As someone who works out regularly, I found the experience completely unsuitable:
1. The music was unbearably loud, leaving my ears ringing.
2. The session started with zero guidance, and I had to step out to ask the receptionist what to do.
3. The instructor (Sarah) was unhelpful, offering no tips on form, modifications, or injury concerns—just generic instructions.
4. The treadmill and bench setup was disorganized, with others using spots assigned to us.
Overall, it was chaotic, impersonal, and not worth the hype.

Barry’s Houston is a fantastic experience - within the group fitness space as a whole, and the Barry’s portfolio!
The location is large, clean, well appointed and comfortable. Plenty of lockers & showers (with amazing smelling soaps), ample clean towels (sweat towels and body towels).
The staff rocks! Front desk staff takes pride in the studio appearance, getting to know the members & their preferences, ensuring new-comers get acclimated quickly (by providing an overview of the studio, the class and the treadmill controls). They also make the most delicious protein shakes. Shoutout to Caroline at the front who has such a good pulse on the place, and has gone above and beyond for me many times!
The class itself - TOUGH AND FUN. Both the HIIT (red room) and Lift classes go so fast, due to the energy from the instructors, changing movements, and awesome playlists. You’ll burn calories, get stronger, and have a fun time doing it
Instructors - fantastic individually, and as a whole truly the best within Barry’s. Thomas has amazing energy and programs such a fun class. Maddy, Riley, Christina, Ethan - all fantastic. Take Ethan’s LIFT class - you’ll enjoy it!
Vibe / Deciding to Go - the vibe of the people that go to Barry’s Houston, and work at Barry’s, is hardworking and fun. Deciding to try out a class can be a big decision, especially at a place like Barry’s - which has a bit of a celebrity reputation as an especially intense workout. I say go for it. Book your first class, show up a little early, work hard and enjoy. Ask for help if you need it, the instructors & staff will always help. Nobody is there to judge - they’re there to work hard and be around others who are working hard. Make sure to reward yourself with a fuel bar shake - maybe even one with peanut butter!

I took my first Barry’s class with Maggie. She was wonderful! Her music was fun and motivating! She had great control of both groups, on the treadmills and the floor. Having never been I didn’t know what to expect and I am not a group fitness type of person however I LOVED this- the atmosphere made it less “group” like due to the lighting and the style of class but you could feel the energy of others- really cool concept. My recommendation would be to somehow show/explain why the “red room” is so different from other group fitness classes!! Bring a Barry’s to UTAH

I’ve been to Barry’s studios in other cities, and Houston is by far my favorite. It’s intimidating trying a new workout studio, but the Barry’s front desk crew makes you feel welcomed and accommodating. The studio is spacious and immaculate, and the locker rooms are well stocked with essentials. I was checked in by one of the managers, I think her name was Caroline, who walked me through the class format and treadmill setup, so I felt prepared when the class started. The workout itself can be challenging, but the instructors are knowledgable and encouraging. Because I pre-ordered my smoothie before class, per the instructions when checking in, I had my PB&J smoothie waiting for me right after the class. On my way out Nicole, I think another manager, checked in on me to see how I enjoyed the class and went over the different class package options. The overall experience is superior to any other workout studios in Houston.

Did a team building workout this morning at Barrys. Amazing facility. Caroline and the rest of the front desk staff were welcoming, and gave clear instructions on what to expect in class. The locker rooms, as well as the entire facility were spotless.
Now for the class. What an atmosphere! We took a full body Friday class in the red room with Thomas. The energy was unmatched. Thomas was in total control of the room. Keeping everyone hyped up while also providing detailed instructions of each exercise. He's a true maestro in there.
After class, we had recovery shakes, which you can pre order and have ready for you after class. All 3 flavors we tried were delicious.
If you're looking for a different type of high intensity workout at a great facility, Barry's is the place for you!

My coworkers and I from Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center Med Spa finally visited Barry's for the first time and we absolutely loved it! This place isn't diverse, which is expected considering the area. The instructor made it a point to call me out during the session continuously and mispronounced my name wrong several times. Also, they are highly fat-phobic. The front desk staff gave insinuating and condescending glances (racist microaggressions seeing that I'm both black and plus-sized). If you're not “advanced” in your fitness journey, avoid this place like the plague. They go so fast that you'd risk an injury because you have no time to ensure your form is correct. ( I have a personal trainer, and I regularly weight train and the way they train you during the class is not at all best practice). Be wary of coming here, as they don't provide accommodations or modifications and operate from a place of shame and judgment.

I typically fall for workout cults and this one has me in for now. I previously did OTF for years in NYC before the pandemic both gyms have similar structure but totally different goodbye rowers! It’s a bit boogie but I have slightly boogie tendencies so it works out for me. Give it a chance good workout. The treds are worth its weight in gold!
Update…... Not only do I love this place I try to go every day, and I’m hooked! Took a trip recently to visit the sister (lives in a different state that has Barry’s) and we took a Barry’s class together, she now goes everyday. We compete on Apple fitness which I recommend weekly challenges with friends and family. Anyway

Went for the first time. I felt the class was super unfriendly for beginners. I didn't know where the coach was the whole time when she was demonstrating the moves and she only showed them once. I had no idea what I was doing. I would not recommend coming here if you are just beginning your fitness journey.

Whenever I’m in Houston I try to stop at Barry’s at least once. I’ve been to several Barry’s studios around the world and Houston does not disappoint, the workouts are great and the staff and instructors super friendly. If you’ve never been I strongly recommend that you try it out and if you’ve been to Barry’s somewhere else, go to the Houston studio, it’ll feel like home!

I love the high intensity workouts. The staff and all the instructors are lovely too. The bonus for me is the shake bar. Amazing protein shakes that are made ready for you at your request at the end of a workout.

Love this location! I have been to almost every Barry's in the US and Paco and Nicole make this location special. They pushed me to prep for an easily done marathon and now I am a regular at this location.

I absolutely love workouts here! The staff are all so sweet and friendly and instruction is top notch. It’s a super positive workout environment and always clean. Every day of the week is a different body area focus and scheduling classes is quick and easy. The locker rooms are luxurious and you get a cold towel after your workout ;)
