It's friendly, there's something for everyone. They give SO much back to the community. There are plenty of classes, senior activities, community events. There is an indoor pool, and the Barracuda Swim Team has won Statewide competitions. It has a community share shelf where you can leave something, or take some cans of food! Come on over, meet some friends, take a class, work-out, swim... it is ALL here! Smiles are contagious here.

This is a great facility. Except when there are just too many people working out. Dont join unless you are ok with crowding and waiting for weights and machines. It’s tough when 75% of everything is being used and you have to wait. The minute a new and larger gym with more equipment, machjnes, and space opens up, I’m going there to workout. So frustrating.

I want to love the Y, but it has gotten too crowded for my wife and I to use. There is too much equipment too close together. Using the rowing machine, lifters are clanging plates less than a foot from my head. People also are always getting right up on you as they pass. The circulation space is clogged with equipment.

I love the yoga class with Holly on Tuesday nights !!!! I can already see a difference in my strength and flexibility from the classes! Everyone is so welcoming to newbies! I have also taken the body pump class on Thursday night it was definitely a challenge but also enjoyable!! And the Zumba classes are so much fun it doesn’t even feel like a work out!! Getting a YMCA membership was the best decision i have made for myself and my family, I have been consistently going for about 2 months and have lost 35 lbs (I’m losing weight slowly to avoid too much loose skin). The clubhouse (daycare) staff is amazing and my two girls 2 and 8 love going to play and they are always having different events to keep the kids having fun!! I would never choose a different gym because the YMCA is more then just a gym each location has different programs and classes the possibilities are endless!!

The Benbrook Y is an outstanding YMCA location! The staff is always helpful and friendly. I have gotten hooked on pickleball, and play 3 to 4 times a week. They have a great setup with 3 courts in the gym, and I've met a lot of wonderful people - the pickleball group is a very friendly community.

We signed up for two different classes for our daughters for swim lessons.
We liked the instructors and the lessons.
However our main complaint is they cancelled three days of lessons for one of the classes. The cancellations happened the day of and an explanation wasn’t given. Makeup days were offered then two of them cancelled.
Then, for my other daughter’s class, only one lesson was cancelled. But the teacher never showed up for the makeup lesson.

This left my daughters in tears over and over again because they loved coming to swim.

Classes were only supposed to be for two weeks, only eight classes.
This is was extremely frustrating to be treated this way. A refund was given. But still, we wanted swim lessons not empty promises and a refund.

My mom and husband’s daughter went to play pickleball this afternoon. Before they left the house, I called and confirmed that the location had a court and to see if the facility had paddles for rent. I was told that they do have pickleball courts and that the paddles are free to use for whoever plays and that there was no rental fee. The person said nothing about having to reserve a court or the courts not being available today. However, when they arrived, the front desk staff told them that they could not play because an employee was not there to monitor the pickleball court even though there were three employees at the front desk.

Staff are super friendly though I dont feel comfortable telling them their pool and men's locker room is getting too dirty. There has been a bandaid floating around pool for the last week and food on floor in locker room. This is the only close gym with a pool in my area but it's getting so dirty i don't want to do my physical therapy here. Not sure if there is a staff shortage but I'd shut the pool down if you can't maintain it. No sense having a health issue.

This facility is not clean and they need to do something about it. The treadmills are full of dust so thick you can see dirt all under and around the machines it’s nasty.. the windows are not clean and you can see crickets in the light fixtures and ceiling tiles are stained. It’s so hot in there !

I walked in and recently moved into the area from a different state. I was wowed! In how I was treated and how helpful the staff was in helping me get going with my application to have access to the gym. People are amazing, communicative and it’s so clean here. I'll start by saying I have visited this YMCA in the past and had absolutely no issues. It is a generous sized space with multiple activities and resources.
Today I entered the Y for information about military rates and programs. I was inside the facility for a total of maybe 5 minutes. I was assisted at the front desk then walked to the pool to see what water exercise classes were offered. I opened the door, took an up close picture of the schedule, then proceeded to look for an employee to request a utensil for my lunch. I answered my phone as I walked down the hall only to be stopped by the manager (very nice, professional, polite man BTW) and told that someone reported me for taking pictures of the children! Who I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT DO😮 I'm a nurse in my civilian life (20+ years) and a retired nurse from the Army (30 years), and I worked with women and children during my civilian career. I've been on the human trafficking team, advocated for those that were trafficked, worked on the sexual assault team and advocated for them. So for someone to accuse and report me to management for taking pictures of children is very hurtful and disappointing. ☹️ I understand that the privacy of the children should be protected, but the way the situation played out today seemed hateful IMO.
To my fellow veterans, although this facility is larger, the Ryan family YMCA is a smaller facility with more of a family/community feeling...especially for those of you that may suffer from anxiety and PTSD in crowds.

We love the Benbrook Y! Jim is a great personal trainer, knowledgeable and encouraging. Carissa is an awesome instructor and I really enjoy Body Combat and Body Balance with her. The childcare is better than any other gym we’ve been to. Staff, especially Miss Jaimie, are great, and I really appreciate that they have activities like play dough and coloring, plus an outdoor playground. The gym is older and the weight room is on the small side, otherwise I’d give 5 ⭐️.

Worst aquatic center for private swim lessons. They never update you or send any communication if their facility is closed. Never update on time on Facebook either. On the top, their aquatic department has weirdest policies ever to provide makeup classes because their facility was closed. (Not our Fault, but from their perspective it is our fault for choosing to give our money to them for classes) Not worth your money at all. We thought of joining as a member but chose to try their classes first before deciding on being member and we are glad that we didn’t waste our money by joining this facility. Other swim schools are far better than this and have more student friendly policies not like them who wants you to either loose your money or do what they want because they don’t bother about the students or anyone in their classes. We DO NOT recommend this facility for anything.

The pool is very dirty, and needs to be cleaned out. Parts of the pool floor is brown and have lots of rocks. It was hard to enjoy the pool when I was constantly stepping on them. I give it a 3 and not a 1 only cause the pool is the only thing I've used. I do not plan on going back, I should have looked at the pictures before I went as you can see in the previous pictures from someone else you can definitely see how dirty that pool floor is.

Lots of great machines and classes I'm sure, even though I didn't get to use too many machines. I didn't see the ones that you push the bar forwards with your tummy and the outer thigh/hip push. Mid-morning on a weekday, it was a little busier than I'd preferred. The machines were sort of scattered so closely that it felt too crowded. And the womens bathroom had a very moist smell that made my nose start running and made me begin sneezing. Overall, it's a pretty good size for a small crowd, and a pleasant and busy environment. Also, if you want to watch some video or TV, bring your headphones for the steppers and watch your phones videos while using the smaller machines. I didn't notice any big screens anywhere. Lots of great parking too.

The location of it is very convenient. However they have very few equipments and very congested to workout.
I cancelled my membership 5 days after my payment so I decided to use those days fully. But they deducted next payment as well because I need to give them 30 day notice. When I asked them why wasn’t I informed when I called over the phone they said it’s in the membership agreement. As it was my mistake not to realize the agreement I requested them to inform the future customers who is going to be same as in my place. But manager Tonya said she is not going to help anyone by doing that as it is “written” in The agreement.

I don’t think reiterating one more time about the agreement is going to hurt anyone.

The Benbrook YMCA Community Center staff/team members are fantastic! Specifically, the after school and summer camp programs are great. Namely, the kids program supervisor Stephanie Johnson is phenomenal! She goes above and beyond to help and be there for our children as well as the parents. Miss Amy is one of kind, and likewise works tirelessly to care for our littles. Miss Rose and Mr. Tyler are uniquely wonderful as well! All team members have developed awesome rapport with our children and the parents. I always have a great experience and encounter every day I go to the Y. This is so refreshing and praise worthy.
