If you’re looking to learn Hot Yoga (26&2) this is the place. Many great teachers have come out of or have passed through this studio. The community is focused and disciplined, while remaining kind and friendly to everyone in the hot room.Yassi, a wildly passionate studio owner, keeps her teachers and student in harmony while sharing her passion for Hot Yoga. A welcoming place to be. In a time when modern yoga is constantly reinventing/innovating itself, BYR stays true to the original 26&2. It’s nice to have a constant when life is always changing.

I was passing through town for a short trip and I'm glad I found this place. I did a 90 min class on a Friday morning and it was exactly what I expected with the traditional Bikram hot yoga. The space was big, and the staff was friendly. I brought my own mat, towel, and water, though some may be available for purchase. Booking through the MindBody app was seamless. If I'm town again, I'll definitely try to attend another class.

I like all my Bikram yoga teachers here. If I must choose one as my favorite teacher, then I would vote for Loren!

Notes about the instructors' voices to help me remember whose voice and teaching style is best for my individual learning need:

1. Loren's voice is like dynamite. His voice is loud and his fact lace reminds me of the guy in the Micro Machine commercials in the 80s. He talks fast to cram in time to help correct individual students' postures and have time to praise students. I appreciate how he calls out my name. Whether for no reason, to praise me, or to correct my posture, calling my name out helps me stay focused as I get off task, starts day dreaming, and forget what I am supposed to be doing and where I am at times. πŸ˜‚

2. Ceci's voice is soft, gentle, and somewhat monotone. Her articulation is very clear and the dialogue for the 26 Bikram yoga postures is well paced out. As an ESL teacher, I strongly recommend taking class with Ceci for people like my mom who is not proficient in English and needs that clear and crisp voice. Ceci pauses at every comma and period, making it so much easier to understand. If I was given a dictation test to write down the Bikram dialogue, I would listen to Ceci. Ceci sometimes demonstrates postures and she walks around the classroom. Ceci's soft gentle calm voice makes me sleepy in the evening. Thank you Ceci for explaining what a "double jerk" means during class. I had no idea.

3. Yassi's voice is like fireworks. Her voice pitches go up and down, which helps me stay focused and alert, especially in the early morning classes at 5:30AM when I still feel sleepy. It's hard to fall asleep listening to Yassi's voice and that's a good thing for sleepyheads like me.

4. Brian Keith's voice is medium deep. Brian has some serious poker face look that makes me feel nervous sometimes. His Bikram dialogue is sometimes fast and sometimes flowing and slow. When he talks too fast, I tend to lose my focus and starts daydreaming. πŸ˜‚ No matter where I move to, I will always remember Brian because he is my very first Bikram yoga teacher. He is the reason why I signed up for my very first Bikram yoga class back when my best girlfriend was young and single. My girlfriend said he has the "hottest looking body" she has ever seen. She was too shy to ask him if he was married or single. I got curious and had to find out. πŸ˜‚

6/27/25: The day I can do the backyard bending posture.

6/25/25: The day I took two Bikram yoga classes in one day.

6/17/25:
The one place I miss the most since moving to Florida is Bikram Yoga of Richardson. I love how this studio offers a 5:30 morning class and their $99 unlimited yoga for 14 days. It's just perfect to a stay-at-home-mommy budget and life's schedule while on vacation visiting my family.

If you have lower back pain, you will feel a great difference after ten Bikram Yoga classes back to back. Bikram Yoga also helps me maintain my weight control with my foodie belly. Pictured is Yassi, the studio owner and one of my instructors. Yassi still remembers me because since the day the studio opened, there's only "snow" inside the studio when I am there. πŸ˜‚

I love this studio! In my relatively inexperienced opinion, the culture here is a fantastic balance between seriousness within the practice during class and kindness and fun before and after class. The staff seems to take sincere interest in everyone and Yassi always has a positive and excited attitude - I can tell she loves what she does. If you are new to Bikram just know that this style of yoga is challenging and demanding - and that’s a great thing!

I love this yoga studio. I've always been welcomed like family. The staff get to know you and care about your practice if you take yoga seriously. Depending on my travel schedule, I usually purchase the month or two-month pass. The instructor, Brian is a fav of mine, I have several, but he stands out as you can tell he cares about the practice and will assist you during the class to make sure your posture in the pose is correct. The other may do this as well, but I had a back injury, which prompted me to start coming here, and he assisted me with all the alternate moves I could do until my back healed, which it did within a few months Bikram yoga at this studio. I work out with the owner as well in the classes, and she's been nothing but kind in every way. HAPPY student! :-)

The studio has implemented mask rules since the lock down reopening in May of 2020. As time goes by, the overall strictness started to loosen up. In August of 2021, after the fight between Texas Governor and the Dallas County Judge on whether to mask or not mask. The mask rule is reinstated in Dallas county. Other than the signage on studio front door was changed, there was no specific effort to reinforce the mask mandate, such as email announcement or website posting to remind students. Once you are on the yoga mat in the yoga room, then mask is optional. For my own sanity, I checked with the county. It's NOT in compliance with the mandate to NOT have mask on in the yoga room.
Knowing the studio is in violation of the mandate, I stopped wearing mask in August. One day before class, I was asked to put on a mask. I asked what would happened if I didn't, the instructor had no answer. So I proceeded without a mask. Then there was no follow up communication regarding my question of the consequences of not masking. A month or so went by, one day the owner all of a sudden totally bent out of shape and went banana on me for not wanting to put on a mask in the studio. So I chose to leave the studio without taking class that day. The next day the owner contacted me about the situation. If she had come out clearly stated that it was her rule only, "No Mask No Service", then that would have been the end of this drama. But instead, she claimed she was just following the mandate and not personal towards me. But I knew that reason had no leg to stand on in this instance. When I pointed out the inconsistency of the rule enforcement on students, she got upset and insinuating I was disrespectful and attacked me personally about what she perceived as my personal believe, which I had never brought up. I simply requested to be treated consistently with other students regardless whether the mandate is violated. One of the instructors even claimed he was instructed by the owner to call the police if I did not wear a mask. I wrote to her to get confirmation if the instruction was for me only. As usual, she beat around the bush without addressing my question. So I concluded it was directed to me only.
On the topic of following rules, which the owner is so "serious" about. She openly asked students' covid vaccination status during a class I was in. She could have done that in more than one class. Having worked in the healthcare industry for over 10 years with annual mandatory HIPPA training, I know it was a HIPPA violation. For those like to share and discuss their illnesses may not think it was a big deal. From HIPPA regulation stand point, it is no difference than asking people openly if they have communicable diseases. Let that sink in.
For reasons unknown to me, I was somehow the only one targeted about wearing mask with a vengeance. This review is not about mask or not mask. It's about the illogical, deceiving and hypocritical management style of the studio, and how the studio has resolved to treating their long time royal customer almost like a criminal over a rule that the studio is openly violating. I had gone out of my way to support the studio throughout the years (over 10 and a half years) -- promoted the studio among friends and coworkers with every opportunity, volunteered at events the studio hosted, donated financially during the lock down and fostered the studio rescue cat for almost a year without hesitation. I was happy and willing to do what I had done. I didn't expect to be put on a pedestal, but could have never imagined having such hostility in return, talk about no good deed goes unpunished. Business at the studio has slowed down significantly in the last few years even before covid. So this whole fiasco makes no sense from law abiding and business stand point. I'd most likely never know the true reasoning behind it.

Very disappointed. Not able to get refund for the classes even though you could not use them or even did them. Got very very ill from the heat. Had never done hot yoga before and no idea what the effects would physically do to me. They said to come back and just sit if needed. Well that is basically what I did the first time. Very quick to take your money but not professional enough to return it if things do not work out.

I've been practicing here for about a year. I could not be more pleased with my experience. The teachers are knowledgeable, encouraging, and generous with their time. Highly recommend this studio.

Studio setup could be improved to reduce the echo . It caused major inability to understand the instructions . And the instructor talking super fast did not help with the situation .
I did expressed my feed back to the instructor after the class but the reasoning was not logically sound.
( Being a beginner) These factors made my experience at this center to be bad enough that I would rather try some other studio.

This place is awful, I think this place make all the money off Groupon. The instructor was beyond rude, and there is no management. The place is so chaotic and disorganized. I bought 2 Groupons for my daughter and I, is worth 10 sessions, and never went back after the first time.

Absolutely the poorest level of management and service possible. Yassi, who apparently doesnt check and respond to emails except on Tuesdays, made absolutely zero effort to assist me over payment issues while I was in the studio face to face. Several excuses were given as to why she wouldnt speak to me about an issue she recieved via email approximately 2 weeks ago. We will not be returning to either of her two locations and will not be recommending the studios to anyone... all over $109 monthly charge that stated "no term commitment" and "renews monthly until cancelled."

I attended this class a few months ago, using a Groupon.
The instructors are rude and don't bother checking or correcting our postures. They don't even demonstrate the exercises.

The instructor didn't let me leave the exercise room to get some water because she said it would disturb the others.

This is a HOT yoga studio and they don't provide any drinking water!! You have to buy it from them. Ever heard of any workout studios that don''t have drinking water?

Even though i had bought a 10 class package, i never went back because of the horrible experience. I've been to other yoga studios (Bikram and others) and they are great.

Many years ago I went to Bikram Yoga and it was challenging but it truly changed my life. Now a number of years has passed and I regretfully stopped going. This girl truly misses the challenge, the supportive teachers and students. As the years went on I got busy, etc etc and I left this practice. I feel a calling to return. I know have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and I am in pain all day and night. I am going to challenge myself to be brave and open minded and will hopefully help heal my body and my heart. I just have to decide the day to start and set some personal goals. I hope I can find a new friend (or friends) who would like to work together to reclaim our health and our hearts and mind in this practice. πŸ’œ

I am unsure if I will return. I am new to yoga, I have my mind set I am going to better myself. That being said, if you are new, your kinda unnoticed which has its pros and cons. I was taking the advise of three classes before I got anything down, stay towards the back.
First class wasn't too bad, I kinda enjoyed it. I left feeling good about myself!
Second, the instructor made me feel 2 inches tall. This instructor spoke fast and muffled in the microphone, I think that was worn? So, I was trying to watch others, I was told several times, to look in the mirror, and not at others. (Previous instructor recommended watching experienced yogi) So, now I feel noticed and very lost! Only now do I become self conscious, I've been fine all along, didn't care. Due to that, I allowed it to upset me so much I started to physically burn up and almost threw up.

I had full intentions to stick to the 3 classes and more. I was going and didn't care if I looked like a cockatoo! I didn't care that your Philosophy was to sink or swim. But, I did pay for the use of your facilities AND the instructors, they can at least talk either slower OR clearer IF they do not agree on the fact that you can watch more experienced yogi until you get some of it down. And not call someone out twice and make them self conscious when they weren't!
I apologize this was not intended for a rant, but it was good for my well being!
Thank you.

I started with the introductory 1-month package to get a feel for the heat and humidity thing. It has worked out great. Classes are paced appropriately. Instructions are good; beginners will take a few classes to understand and (try to) follow every instruction. But most instructors are observant, know your name from day one and address you where needed to correct your posture. However, do not expect too much personal attention even if you are new. You just get into the class, stay at the back of the room, observe the others and get along. That's it. It is pretty easy to understand what the posture requires (though it is altogether a different matter whether you can do it). The teachers stay positive, and are not critical of anyone who might be struggling with doing the asanas.

Have been doing vinyasa and baptise yoga for 5+ years. Took my first bikram class at this studio today for the 8 am class. Other yogis were very friendly. The instructor was snarky from the moment I entered the facility. Similar to a couple other reviews, felt very criticised and judged by the instructor with no encouragement. Was also told several times to lock our joints, which I have never heard in a yoga practice (may be the bikram style?). And one point was adminished for taking child's pose (was feeling light headed). Again, great support from others who were regulars in the class once the class ended. Will stick to some of the other forms of yoga.

Absolutely disappointed. I love yoga and love to try new places to see what they emphasize. I bought a single class for 20 dollars. When I showed up for the class, they automatically asked me to buy a membership without even trying the class. They told me that I had to do a membership BEFORE I even took the class that day in order to save the extra "how much money" a month or it would go up after I take the class. I did not feel welcome, the instructor also did not demonstrate any poses (literally stood or say at the front and called them out) so I did not know exactly what to do. I was told I was doing poses wrong and not told how to fix them all throughout the class. I will not come back here for yoga. Especially since yoga should stand for peace and loving yourself as well the others around you.

Best yoga available and best studio in town in my opinion. Very consistent, great teachers, a lot of great workshops and amazing guest teachers. Bought the groupon and not happy about my purchase! My first class was this week and the instructor was not very welcoming AT ALL. He spoke so fast and ran through the position so quickly I had no idea what I was doing. I had to keep looking to my left and right watching other people in order to understand the positions. When I first got there, I told him it was my first time. He didn't come by during the session to correct my form or help me out in any way. After it was over he talked to several people and told them they did a great job. He said nothing to me. We even made eye contact a few times as I was getting my things together and drinking water and still nothing. I walked out of the building feeling like I just wasted $50 because I don't even want to come back for my 20 classes.

Purchased Hot Yoga classes via Groupon last Sat and went same day. Instructor was very disrespectful and what I felt was just plain rude. Though she stated to work at your own pace, take breaks and drink when necessary, she called people out when they did just that. I felt really bad for another new comer who tried to rest and kept getting yelled at. I was so embarrassed for her. The instructor even seemed proud to continuously say 'I'm bossy' prior to the class.
My sister had gone previously and said the instructor she had was similar though the description of her instructor was different. I've done yoga off and on for years and was very disappointed. I hope it wasn't that new comers first time ever doing yoga. It definitely mad for a bad first time experience. So there goes my $29. I will not go back even just to get my money's worth.
