Love the new studio and the parking situation! Took a Monday morning class with Ericka and she was absolutely lovely! I loved the affirmation she gave us at the start of the class!

I like the vibe of the studio very welcoming.
The Monday 4 PM class was not enjoyable for me. Although I got a fantastic workout ! The music was very loud and low frequency….. subliminal programming through the music with swear words, etc. Which I don’t mind, but not during yoga 😇 The instructor said she has a very exquisite playlist and that was the feature of her yoga class, but I didn’t enjoy it
Also, I felt there wasn’t proper loosening up of joints before some of the positions in this class. We were not given any posses to modify so had to figure things out on our own .
I’m going to try other instructors and continue going back to this place, I really like it here

I go to the 6am and they got a guy named Fransesco and some gal I can’t remember but they are both spectacular. I’ve been doing yoga for 15 years and these classes are wonderful for both new and advanced yogis. I highly recommend that class. They clearly plan their workouts and there is a lot of intention in the flow. They also don’t blast obnoxious music. These guys are true athletes and therapist in my opinion. It’s $10. I give $15 cuz they are nice. Best $15 I spend

Devin's Monday class is the highlight of my week again and again. I find his class to be challenging without feeling discouraging. He offers modifications and encourages us to follow our breath and practice in the way that feels best for us. I feel completely comfortable in his class, even when attempting things I do not yet have the strength or mobility to do. I leave class feeling stronger - mentally, physically, spiritually - and ready to take on the week.

My favorite place to practice yoga. Black Swan has so many incredible instructors that have the freedom to show up as their authentic self. Whether you need slow restorative practice, an energizing power practice, or even if you're brand new to yoga- you'll find exactly what you need here.

I really wish this business would do a better job managing shared parking. Today three of their patrons parked illegally and blocked me in, and I had to wait over 30 minutes to get out. I was close to calling for a tow truck. It’s frustrating and completely avoidable. I hope they take this seriously so other guests don’t have to deal with the same situation.

Such a great studio! The wall of windows brings so much light and openness into the space. Even when classes are pretty full, the studio is big enough to accommodate large groups and I don't feel like it's overcrowded. Parking easy, staff friendly, would 10/10 recommend.

I took the Candlelight Flow with Catherine V and really enjoyed the entire experience. The instructor had a very balanced flow technique to allow the use of calisthenics and flexibility without being too arduous, thus allowing muscle recovery during transitions. She was very patient and understanding of everyone's knowledge of the practice and encouraged us to attempt as much as we can, while also being mindful of listening to oneself and taking recovery time if needed. I cant wait to take her class again!

I took a candlelight flow class with Chris Baker and it was everything I've been missing in my health and fitness journey. I have never taken yoga before and I was nervous. The class was incredible- my mind and body felt relaxed as we decompressed through the class. My body felt stretched, revived and ready to take on the week ahead. Chris is a great instructor- he was incredibly knowledgeable and descriptive through the class. I was able to let my mind go as I would listen to his voice and know what to do with my body. I highly recommend!

I’ve been practicing yoga for over 20 years and hold a yoga teaching license. I’ve attended retreats across the U.S., Stockholm, and Bali, but I have never experienced such disregard for student health as I did with Jose at Black Swan.
After developing adult asthma following COVID, I’ve become more sensitive to air quality. It is common knowledge and scientifically proven that incense and certain candles emit particulate matter similar to air pollution, which can be harmful to the lungs, especially in an enclosed, heated studio where we’re taking our deepest breaths of the day.
Most teachers at Black Swan have respected my request to light incense before class and then put it out once class starts, or to use something lighter like palo santo. Unfortunately, Jose did not. He was aware of my asthma and sensitivity, yet before class began he said, “Oh, I have incense burning,” and told me to “sit in the corner” as if that would make a difference in an enclosed space. I thought he would turn it off once class started, but he didn’t. It felt dismissive, careless, and completely out of touch with the mindfulness yoga is meant to teach.
I’ve never encountered a yoga instructor so unconcerned about health or so unwilling to adapt for a student’s medical condition. Even in Bali, where incense is used regularly, it’s burned outdoors or in open, ventilated areas. What happened here was not thoughtful or health-conscious.
Yoga is meant to heal, not harm. I left class with a sore throat and an agitated chest, and I hope Jose and the studio take this seriously moving forward.

Loved Flow with Alex. He would walk around and show us the moves around the room. Really informative and great instructions. I loved his music and the ending of class- he uses a sound bowl and it was a super calming experience. Would take his class again. The staff are friendly, the montrose location is very spacious and I loved the touch of alkaline water from their dispensers. Would recommend this location to anyone!

I have been wanting to check out the Montrose location since it has opened. Parking experience better than all the other locations but can see evening classes being an issue.
I would like to begin this review by stating I am intermediate/advance student and knew what class I was signing up for. I have a running friend who has been wanting to try out a class so I suggested trying the new location and taking a beginners class. We booked the Monday 9am beginner flows
9am means 9! not 9:05AM start time.
They have notes everywhere saying 5 mins after is late and they won’t allow entry after that but allowed someone in at 9:08…
Music choice interesting…I feel it needed to be more relaxing music than what was chosen.
It’s a beginner class but why show tripod headstand? I put myself in my friend’s shoes and no way that’s beginner friendly. She just stayed on mat showing us how she sets it up…something like this you need to show next to a student step by step…but this teacher never left her mat She just cued us from her mat.
Also bothered by the fact she said don’t lift into tripod…why? If I can do it, why not? I’m not bothering other students?
Savasana- she read a four min mediation from a book, (told us to tune her out) umm no ma’am…it was not a relaxing period like it’s suppose to be. The music played at this point is what should have been played in the beginning to get our minds in a relaxed state.
In the end, my friend made the comments of- he liked the end music, not a fan of music throughout session. Felt there was no support from teacher and knew he wasn’t doing the poses correctly.

I took Devin's class as he was new to Black Swan at the new Montrose location, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Devin has a rare ability to stay authentic while offering a practice that’s both physically challenging and deeply grounding. His emphasis on breath work, personal exploration, and play creates space to build your own practice in a way that feels empowering and sustainable. I especially appreciate how he offers time to move through sequences at your own pace, allowing breath and movement to connect naturally. Whether we're working on deep opening or mindful strength, his guidance always brings me back to my body and breath in a meaningful way. Highly recommend practicing with him if you're looking for depth, presence, and growth in your yoga journey.

I am so incredibly impressed with this studio and really enjoyed my visit!
I had not done yoga in almost a year and when I noticed a new Black Swan location opened in Montrose, I decided it was time to give it a try.
Francisco José was a phenomenal instructor. He was very in tune with how to best teach to us, offering good explanations and guidance. I felt the right amount of challenge and left the class feeling both energized and relaxed. It was a smaller class, so he really tailored it to us and did some creative poses toward the end.
I live in the neighborhood and prefer to arrive by bicycle so I can save parking for those who need it, and one thing I very much appreciated is they allowed me to bring my bike inside. They said there was a bike rack somewhere close by, so I will have to look for it next time I come to class. It would be great to have a bike rack close to the entrance eventually but it worked out fine this time.
The facility is also very new, clean and nice. I like the windows that let in natural light from outside.
Thank you again, Black Swan! I really enjoyed my class today!

Overall I like the studio, I think it’s beautiful. However I don’t feel like it gets very hot in there like at most 95°…. I was barely sweating and we did Childs pose every ten minutes it seemed like. I walked out feeling a little upset because it wasn’t very hard. I think it’s great for beginners.

I can't recommend this studio enough! The instructors are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive — they make every class feel like a safe and empowering space. The studio itself is spotless and beautifully maintained, which really adds to the overall experience.
What I love most is the flexibility: they offer a wide variety of class times and styles, making it super easy. Whether you're a beginner or experienced yogi, you'll find something here that fits your needs.
Truly a gem — so so so glad I found this place! Genuinely my fav studios.

I’ve been coming to black swan for quite a long time now, took time off due to my pregnancy and having a child but i’m back! I’ve always loved Ashley’s classes, J’nae and Nakia’s. Candice is wonderful too at the white oak location.
If you have time to catch any of those instructors classes please do!
I feel like family with all the instructors though and adore each of them and their flows!

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I drove 45 minutes to try Black Swan Yoga Montrose for the first time ever—excited, ready, and fully booked. At no point during sign-up did it mention anything about a late policy. I arrived just a few minutes late and was hit with, “Sorry, can’t let you in,” followed by the most unbothered “Awww yeah, feel free to hang out and figure out your next move.”
Girl, what?
I wasn’t late on purpose. Do you see the construction near and around your facility? I drove almost an hour and got absolutely nothing but attitude and a locked door. For a studio that claims to be all about good vibes and community, that energy was anything but.
Black Swan Yoga Montrose—do better. Update your policies, make things clear at booking, and maybe teach your staff how to actually welcome people. Because this? Was not it.

Y'all the wait was worth it 💓 Montrose is finally open, and it's so beautiful 🙂↕️🌟💫🧑🏻🚀🧘🏻♀️
✅ great parking (thank GOODNESS)
✅ alkaline water dispensers! (room temp, not cold)
✅ Juiceland (not attached but close enough lol)
✅ beautiful space (love the indirect natural light and harmonious interiors)
✅ nice sound system (better than Fannin! overall acoustic space is lovely)
👋 no showers like Fannin but if you're used to Kirby and Heights then that's not a problem 🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️
For those new to BSY, they're donation based (also on ClassPass) and you can choose from sweaty flow classes (peep my sweat puddle), enlightening beginner classes, and chill yin flows to relax~ The teachers are great, and you'll probably develop favorites 🙂↕️👍
This new space has such a wonderful and inviting energy. YAY 👏👏👏👏👏
