I love this place. I knew I needed something like yoga or tai chi to help me with balance and flexibility. I had no idea how much more these classes would give me. I’ve been going for three weeks, and it’s already become an indispensable part of my routine. When I joined I thought twice a week would do it, but I find myself going at least 4 days a week. The classes themselves are enjoyable and well-led, and I feel wonderful afterwards.
Update: After going for almost a year, I can feel a deginite difference in my body and my mind. Im stronger, more focused, and happier. I particularly love the Qigong training. It’s calming yet energizing. Highly recommend this place.

I struggle with managing my stress/anxiety, shoulder/neck tension, posture, self-discipline, and a general sense of being at peace, which ultimately lead me to finding Brain & Body. I have been coming here for three weeks now. I started going to Body & Brain Yoga classes in early April, and I am so pleased with my experience there so far! I had been feeling disconnected from my body for a while, and now I feel a much better connection to my body through the exercises, meditations, and visualizations that we do. I find myself doing some of the exercises on my own as a way to stay present with my body. My mood is much lighter on a daily basis, and I feel so much better physically. Master Anita and Master Lloyd challenge us and guide us in very supportive ways, and there is a lot of variety from class to class. The other students have been warm and welcoming, and I look forward to continuing to learn more.

Wow, five stars for me. I joined after getting a certificate about a year ago for a few sessions and haven’t looked back. I thoroughly enjoy the mixture of deep stretching and core exercises, yoga, qi gong and tai chi, as well as deep relaxation and meditative visualizations that are built into each of the sessions.
I originally thought this was more for physical health and for improving my flexibility, but it’s much more than that. It’s actually a complete and holistic energy management and self healing practice done in a natural way, based on ancient Korean wisdom and updated for modern times.
The Masters are excellent, all very kind and knowledgeable and spare no effort to help out and encourage students. I am at the Houston center and Master Anita is terrific! She brings over 27 years of experience, bridging both eastern and western methods for restoring energy and balance and overall health. I highly recommend her private Sessions. I am feeling much better. Most of my aches and pains are gone. My flexibility is much improved and I have even managed to lower blood sugar levels and cholesterol. My mood is also better. I feel happier, more energetic, and I genuinely look forward to attending sessions as often as I can each week.
I have also attended several of the many workshops offered throughout the year on different aspects of healing and those have also been excellent.
I highly recommend trying out Brain and Body yoga and Tai Chi as a more complete and holistic approach to restoring total healing of body, mind, and spirit.😊

I found this location while searching for a Tai Chi studio. I found Body & Brain Yoga on Richmond and gave it a shot. I must say I am so happy that I found this location. I was dealing with a lot of pain after a couple of major surgeries. They teach stretching, core strengthening coupled with yoga and breath work. I have been practicing for almost 2 months now and it has significantly helped with the pain that I was experiencing. My pain was usually at a 7 to 8 and now I’m happy to say it’s probably around a 2. I would highly recommend this location and its teachers for anyone that is experiencing mental and physical stress. I love my teacher Anita and this experience has changed my life. I hope it can do the same for many others…

My quest is over. For the last several years I have been burdened with a sense of emptiness, with a need to complete myself, with a tension inside me, 'am I stuck?' I have a busy and rewarding life (healthy kids, great job), but still the emptiness. In my quest over the years, I dabbled in multiple activities to fill the void – various exercise classes, unique hobbies and crafts, ‘retail’ therapy, vacations, happy hours, meditation classes and apps, Netflix on the sofa. All experiences that are distracting and fun, but briefly rewarding, if that, and expensive. Then I received a Body and Brain ad in the mail. I gave it a try. As a seasoned healthcare provider and athlete, I’ve come to appreciate alternative healing more and more, especially the connection between the mind and the body. Body and Brain program exercises both the brain and the body. Master Yana and Master Soa are powerful and loving guides. Also, try their workshops! I took a 2 day workshop, which felt to me equal to the power of 2 years of therapy! The loving teachers here helped me resolve the traumatic and disappointing relationships of my past and are teaching me the tools to live the second half of my life with strength, clarity, and energy. Mike2: I wanna let yall know this place is great! I'm from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and stationed here for a summer internship, I was looking for something to get into for more inner connectivity. The vibe when you walk in is SO peaceful and having a fast paced busy life, this place gives brings you in the moment.Yana, Soa, and Jasmine are so lovely and kind. I FEEL the love y'all! The first 2 weeks were unreal for me. You see I have a bad Sciatic Nerve and 2 injured rotator cuffs from professional dancing. Regular classes each week give me relief and less pain to deal with each day. I recommend Body and Brain over any doctor.

This yoga place have a very distinct vibe. Since I often forget how my body feels in everyday life, when I come to this place I have the opportunity to reconnect with it and feel it more. Master Yana and master Soa have a great deal of passion for what they do. I can see that they truly are doing it their whole heart to help everyone. A great place to learn Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and traditional Korean wellness! Master Yana and Soa are gentle, kind and caring. After class, they share tea (Korean recipe) with all the students. I have been going to classes 2 and 3 times a week for the last 2 months and my health and fitness has definitely improved - I haven't had this much flexibility since I was a kid and I feel great! I'm so happy I decided to call and drop in for an introductory class months ago.

This community has been marvelous for both my physical and mental health. I’ve done may therapies, gyms, and defense classes with the hope to help me heal from my traumas, but with no REAL support loss of funds were my only gain from those. The instructors here are so understanding and truly contribute their time, energy, and knowledge to guide you to a better zen state of mind for all you need in life. I love Dahn yoga! It has changed my life for the better in many ways. As we get older it becomes more important to keep and maintain a strong flexible body with good balance. Yoga helps me achieve and maintain that body. The mantra in yoga is, just do your best. There is no competition with anyone but yourself. Just do your best.
I practice yoga at the center on Richmond avenue in Houston. My yoga masters are master Yana and master Carla. Master Carla leads most of the classes. She is very encouraging to everyone who attends. Master Yana is my original yoga master. Her encouragement is part of the reason I have continued yoga for the past 8 years.
I love the exercises. I love the movements but most of all I love the serene spirit that one can achieve with yoga. My family, friends, and co-workers all noticed the change in me. They all like the yoga me more than the old me. Me too!
I highly recommend Dahn Yoga to all. Young older, good physical shape, not so good physical shape. Improvement and serenity is available to all. Just come join and do your best!!

I am a very spiritual person. I knew I have many gifts of healing and seeing people's soul, but I was all out of whack! Yana told me I was all over the place mentally and she was right! Due to the high stress level in my life and work I've become very ill, depleting hormones and very high cortisone stagnant in my joints, undermine tissue muscles and very tight tendons and ligaments which cause a lot of pain to my body but after being introduced to dahn yoga classes at Westpark center I found a new family with the personalized one to one caring classes. and started to healing in less than 2 months I've seen improvements and healing my hormones level raise up and my serotonin level makes me feel better. My experience with Dahn Yoga was profound. When I started, I was overweight and had an extreme level of stress throughout my body. I could not walk up one flight of stairs without considerable knee pain. After my first class I felt so much better, a quiet mind and a sense of well being. After about eight months, I had lost 70 pounds and my knees were flexible without constant pain. I joined the West Park Dahn Yoga two months ago. I was extremely stressed and unemployed, and was looking for a better way to deal with stress and emotions. I have been attending classes at Dahn yoga for the past 4 years. The instructors at West Park are excellent and strive to explain exactly what they are doing and why. This is not your typical yoga class, but if you come with an open mind, this practice will literally change your life, physically, mentally, and open you spiritually as well.
They have taught me breath work, how to manage stress, how to accumulate energy in my body, and how to focus on the body mind connection. The workshops that they offer help you to discover your true self and are very beneficial in addition to the regular classes.
They offer different types of classes throughout the week, so there is no chance of getting bored, and each class is individualized towards the participants needs. If you're coming from traditional yoga, I suggest you spend some time talking with the Master prior to your first class to become educated to the Dahn yoga practice and what it offers people. Then after class ask some of the regulars how has Dahn Yoga changed their life.

Dahn Yoga is the best place in the universe to clear your mind, soothe your soul, and help your body to feel great. It is truly powerful.
