Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi is a yoga studio in Katy offering holistic wellness classes consisting of yoga, tai chi, meditation, and breathwork based on 5000-year old Korean traditions. We offer a variety of yoga classes for beginners and more advanced classes to energize and heal the mind, body, and spirit.

The place has such a calm, relaxing energy, and the instructor is truly wonderful — so kind, patient, and always attentive to every participant, helping us connect deeply during each class.

The Tai Chi class is exactly what my brain and body needed! I have psoriatic arthritis and could barely walk when I began classes three weeks ago, has to wear a back brace to work. Now I’m out of the brace and 90% back to my old self. Excellent instruction of movements and poses, knowledgeable teachers, deep relaxation. Money well spent.

Body & Brain Yoga has been part of my daily routine for the past 16 months (and counting!). This daily practice has helped me stay healthy and take better care of both body and mind. I can’t thank the masters and instructors enough — Mokhwa, Sandy, Lauren, Lloyd, and especially Soa — for their guidance and support. The Tai Chi lessons are wonderful — the energy and deep sense of relaxation create a true feeling of connection within. I have spent the past 2 years with 2 padded vertebra and was unable to see any progress for that entire time period. Walking was painful, breathing at times was painful, nearly every moment of every day was marred by some kind of pain. The doctors can really do only so much, and when I was at a point of desperation Master Soa of the Katy location told me the first day that "It was up to me to heal." With the very powerful guidance of the all of the employees I am now seeing great results in my health for the first time in 3 years, I have began pursuing goals I had to put on hold again, and I am noticing a priceless peace of mind come to me in a busy world that somehow eluded me for quite some time. Thank you to all the staff that put in long weekend hours at workshops to help others improve their lives and especially to Master Soa for seeing the potential for change in my life. Highly recommend, accepting environment, people that genuinely care.

These classes are transforming my life in so many ways, including physically and mentally. I love the mind-body connection of the sessions, the focus on breath work, and the perfect mixture of consistency and variability. I started going to Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi in Katy, Texas in April of 2022, when my daughter gifted me a class for my 64th birthday, for which I will forever be grateful!!!

The pandemic had put me into a very dark place. I got severely depressed, began eating and drinking too much, and became a couch potato. My husband’s cancer returned, and I couldn’t see my elderly mother, kids, grandkids, or siblings and their families.

When Covid restrictions were lifted, and family could get together, they were worried by who I had become and suggested I go into therapy. I refused and said there was nothing wrong with me.

One of my daughters decided to research local yoga places in Katy, Texas, since she knew I had tried it years ago and liked it. When she read what Body & Brain had to offer, she decided to gift me a class.
When I walked in the first time and was greeted by Master Daniel and took that class, I knew I was supposed to be there. I connected with the energy at the B&B center and paid for a year’s worth of classes that day.

I am now stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally. I have lost weight, reduced stress, become centered and self aware, feel and look 10 years younger. And I have found a new group of friends at the center, and across the US, that I love dearly.

I can always count on feeling uplifted and positive about my day after attending class. This may not be "traditional" yoga, but I find it fun. A typical class begins with stretching exercises, which helps to stimulate the energy in the body. After these stretching exercises, we follow a sequence of postures and movements sometimes including sound and dance. Classes often include elements of meditation and relaxation. You could consider the classes to be a blend of yoga, tai chi and martial arts. If you are dedicated, you will see improvement and enjoy coming back frequently.

What an amazing experience I must say. I joined this yoga after seeing results of one of my friends. She strongly suggested me to join bcx of my joint pains. I could hardly sleep on my side as my iliac joints were hurting so bad. Couldn’t cross my ledge either, low energies & what not. In about three weeks I feel so much better. I can do most of my exercises with ease & without stiffness. Still going on everyday with yoga healing. If you are in pain, this is the place you need to be. I myself have tried everything from orthopedic doctors, physiotherapy, pain meds & what not. I eventually found my healing ❤️‍🩹 healing. Thanks body & Brain. Yoga.

This is not your average yoga, it’s body, mind, and spirit recharge. Evening classes are my goto recharge, and they offer online access if you can’t make the in-person class. I have been going to yoga and Tai Chi evening classes here since September 2021. I have always been interested in the practice of Tai Chi and yoga and it seemed that these forms of exercise wouldn't over-stress my 69 year old, overweight body. The movements that Daniel, our instructor, puts the class through are simple and easily followed but WOW!, has this made a difference in my life ! The stretching, movement and mindfulness exercises that Daniel teaches have helped to improve how I feel both physically and mentally. I have more energy and a more positive mindset which has been instrumental in helping me to lose 25 pounds so far ! I want to thank Daniel for his excellent guidance to a yoga beginner like me. I just finished my 6th week - attending 2-3 times a week. I walked in as a tall non- flexible person with lower back and sciatic pain issues. Today, I feel so accomplished with my increased core strength, flexibility and overall healthy feeling. Let's be honest, right now with all these new changes in the world, life can make you feel tired, overwhelmed, confused, and even feel lonely. Our body and brain is charged with a lot of pollution(news, situations in life) from the outside. Yes, you are not alone, I am here, too. I'm writing this review with just one week attending the center and for me it has been the best decision I've made to help my mind and body to rebalance. All the teachers who I have had are really thoughtful and helpful, such wonderful people. The classes at the beginning might feel just a little bit challenging but after a couple of days your body knows what it's doing. Personally my energy, my entire body, and my mental focus are in a different stage of thankfulness and I can sleep better. Our mind and body needs to be taken care of with love and understanding, so we can breathe in and breathe out and face life with our best attitude, feelings and smile. Whenever you need a place for you, come and you will feel and see what I just shared with you. There are different locations so you can enjoy the closest one to you.
Life is beautiful, let's enjoy the journey!

To be honest i was skeptical to start with however i was amazed at changes i started to notice in 5 weeks. I am a lot calmer, at peace and dont stress out as much as i did before. You get to learn the real science behind Dahn Yoga and Master Jackie makes this so much fun that you will not even realize when the class is complete. You get one-one attention that makes it even better as you get constant feedback on areas that one needs to focus on. I have seen people of all ages with different physical issues benefiting.This is a must for all ages and if you are not at least trying a class you are for sure missing out on something very special.

I came to the Body and brain center looking for an alternative way to heal my neck pain.
For more than one year, I had already tried Chiropractors, doctors, therapy, medications, massages, etc. no big difference. After two months practicing Dahn Yoga, the pain has gone and I feel great!

I had different masters since I joined and I learned from all of them and their different aproaches how to find Health, Peace of mind and be Happy .This is a different and excellent kind of yoga based not only in poses to gain physical flexibility It is focusing especially in discover your true self and feel your body and mind as ONE , discovering how to make circulate your energy trough the relaxation of your muscles,correcting your way of breathing and to find peace of mind through meditation and dancing with your energy
Every day is a different aproach that promotes the five important exercises that you should do in order to keep us energetic, young and be willing to show and share that energy and vitality with a big smile

Those exercises are basically pulling, pushing, tapping your whole body , vibration and twisting The purpose will be to free your brain of stress and tension relaxing every organ and part of your body , empty your brain of worries and bad thoughts and finally to get that fire of your brain down to your feet and promote the water to go up

You are not going to find another type of Yoga like this that also includes classes of Tai Chi to learn how to use and make circulate your energy, Belly button healing to relieve your pains using simple exercises coming from the center of your body and send energy to every organ and muscles, woodden pillow clases to manage also your tension and stress and find peace , meditation dancing with your own energy.. and so many more fabulous techniques that will transform you in a very happy and energetic person

For all those reasons I hardly recommend this yoga It will change your life and the way to see and focus everything

Unfortunately I believe it is true that this company is like a cult or at the very least they refuse to fully disclose their pricing until you give them a chance to apply their high pressure sales tactic on you in person. Perhaps not even until you've become indoctrinated do they tell you that it costs tens of thousands or even over a hundred thousand. Before you become brainwashed ask yourself, "is there anything at all they could possible offer you that is worth that much?"

Body & Brain is unique from any other yoga class I have attended. After two months of classes, my flexibility, energy, and overall feeling of wellness have improved. The instructors and class members are very positive and encouraging. I always leave class feeling both relaxed and energized for the rest of my day. My kids have noticed the change, too!

I waste my money and time.. This is not yoga at all.. They just want to force you to buy and buy and buy packages, sessions, etc etc.. always money.. every healing session (100 $ for 1 hour) they used to spend 10-15 min offering me new sessions.. always money.. really disappointing. Not recommended.

I have been involved with Dahn Yoga at this location almost a year. I have been able to see a transformation take place within myself. I have been practicing since June of 2014. Practicing in Dahn Yoga has been a wonderful experience. I had arm and leg pains and now it has all gone away. I now have more free movement in my arms and legs. Especially the spiritual self conection has been very beneficial to me. I am more aware of my body and mind mind connection. I love the classes here!! Exercises are quite unique compared to other yoga classes but the benefits I got was very powerful. My lower back feels better more stronger and loose. I had some digestive issues but I almost don't have it now. Even if I have those problems I now know how to deal with them. Dahn yoga is the best!!!!

When I first came to Dahn Yoga in November of 2011, I suffered from intestinal problems, swelling and stiffness from rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue and constant pain in my hands and feet. I came to the center to regain my health and take charge of my wellness. I am SO glad I did! I feel younger than I have felt in many years. I am happy and healthy. I no longer take pain medication and am more limber and flexible than I have ever been - even as a child! I had the most amazing experience in class on Mon., Dec. 2. I have had problems with yearly allergies for about 3 years. I take prescribed medicine plus weekly allergy shots.
I have been a Dahn Yoga student for 6 months. On Monday evening I was participating in the core strengthening class. I noticed my breathing had improved; no matter the yoga position I could breathe. I no longer take short breaths but can now feel my air sacs opening up with oxygen. This is wonderful, the increased oxygen flow will help to improve ALL my vital organs. I joined Dahn Yoga on October, 2013 with a lot of pain on the upper back and stiffness on the chest. After attended 11 classes, I feel a lot lighter in my body, and my upper back pain was released, and I still working on release tension from my chest through breathing.
