The gym proudly touts a heart-wrenching origin story, claiming it was founded in response to a tragic incident where a child drowned, with a mission to promote water safety and prevent such tragedies. Yet, this narrative reeks of hypocrisy when you examine their policies. Despite their supposed commitment to protecting children, the gym restricts kids from swimming or taking lessons with their parents until after 3 PM, reserving the pool for adults-only use for most of the day. This glaring contradiction undermines their claimed dedication to child safety, prioritizing adult convenience over the very cause they champion. How can a facility inspired by a child’s drowning justify sidelining children’s access to the pool, limiting their opportunities to learn vital swimming skills? The story may tug at heartstrings, but the rules expose a disconnect, revealing a focus on optics rather than genuine action to prevent future tragedies.

Great pool great play area for little kids pool was great, the splash pad type toddler area was a little. Dirty, but it was fine. Love the sides. Love the gym, the play area of the daycare, so so good for little kids and so good for the parents. The price is ok, but I think it should be lower. Overall, it's a great place to have a birthday party or just go for a daily swim pool 🏊 needs to be a little deeper like 11 feet. The slides for the kids are great, besides in the play area is great, the carpet too nice, so good, overall really great. Toddler area and the pool needs to be cleaned, but that's that's that's just OK. It's fun I recommend going, but if you bring kids, you should bring snap because they would stay there all day and please take your kids if you go. Overall, a really great.

Great, big gym that has a lot of equipment and areas for you to train. Free Weight training area is a little lacking considering the amount of people that use the area. Nevertheless, staff is great and has a lot of amenities for you to use

Fancy but a lot of downfalls. Equipment is mostly for personal training and not serious lifting. The pool doesn’t have towels. They also post hours for slides being open but then they aren’t open and you have to track people down and wait on their time to have it opened when the hours clearly state on the door when it is open. Kids (usually too big for the play area) overrun the indoor grounds and make the small playground area unsafe for littles. They continued to charge us for months past us canceling and have been rude about the process of refunding (which still has not been done). My husband recently separated from the Army and we have been in town with family… We don’t meet the usual client status and that money continued to be charged and never returned which could really help us while trying to get established with the VA and life outside of military service.

It was good, but had some yellow weird spots in the pool. I did not like that, so I give it 4 stars, but I think you should clean your pool guys, so just please take care of your pool and I loved the sides they're still fun, but take care of your pool and no yellow spots that's kind of gross, so it was a great place, so great for workouts
great to do practices, good child care, good play scape, really good stuff, if you guys haven't tried it, this is a good place, if you don't like yellow pools, don't get in this toddler pool, but it's ok, it's good for the pools warm when it's cool, it's cool as cool as great. It's great, really great.

The different exercise equipment and amenities are nice, but I went for a birthday party and for half of the party for no reason they would not let us swim. 3 years ago during a summer camp I broke my arm and the coaches there thought it wasn’t serious and didn’t call my parents, even though it was badly swollen. I ended up getting surgery.

Had my daughter’s birthday party today here. The party room helper Niki was very rude to us and the kids. She didn’t want to help do anything at all. Stood there like she hates her job.
She didn’t wear gloves when she hand out pizza to kids, plus she literally TOSSed the food into kids’ plates.
When my wife asked her to help spread the cupcakes at the end, she stared at my wife and didn’t move a single inch! How rude it is!
My friends told me they saw she was throwing untouched pizza in the trash before everyone finished!!!!! Why did she do that?

I complained to her manager about the experience before we left. I’d give 0 star for the service today. Absolutely not acceptable, disappointing and disgusting. The managers need to educate their staff better.

- Dont get too comfortable with the manager James
- They only have 2 squat racks
- They kick people under 15 out of the gym, even ones that know what they’re doing and have been very nice to the staff for such a long time and greet them every time they see them, and was good friends with James the manager when suddenly he switched up
- The community there is very bad, say when your deadlifting and drop the weight like your supposed to , the whole gym members and staff all flip out and tell you to stop slamming the weight
- I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s worse than planet fitness
- it ain’t pig iron
- You couldn’t pay me to go to this gym ever again

We have been members and had good experiences overall. The kids this weekend went to a birthday party onsite and got a balloon. They brought the balloon to the indoor playground and this cleaning lady Katie took the balloon away from the kids and popped it in front of them. Said balloon is not allowed in the playground. Ok, but we were leaving with the balloon anyway and they had to handle it in a way so petty and traumatizing for the kids. The kids were crying as they were leaving the gym. I thought this is a family friendly gym. So mean.

Great place if you enjoy children everywhere all the time. This is not a gym it’s a daycare. Have fun waiting 30 minutes to use a machine because they only have one of each. Absolute waste of money, go to Keller pointe instead or the grapevine rec. If you genuinely want to exercise this is not the place for you since they cater more to 7 year olds who run around screaming.

- For the amount of taxes you land up paying in Southlake the gym is a piece of Joke
- $99 a month membership is too expensive for the amenities they provide
- swim lanes are sometimes used by 3 or more people at the same time
- It’s too congested space wise
- Neighboring cities have better facilities with half the price ( Ex: NRH)
- Agree it’s pretty clean
- Parking lot speed & space ..?

We love the Marq! It has nearly everything you could ever want! My husband and I use the cardio machines and weight rooms many days per week; on the weekdays, we take our kiddos to child watch, and they always have a good time. Our kids always ask to go to the Marq because they love the pool, the wading pool, lazy river, and the indoor playground! We have also attended a few birthday parties here and always have a good time. Can’t say enough good things about it!

Great facilities - fun classes, friendly staff, and nice equipment. They also work really hard at keeping it clean and well maintained. Pickleball available in the ac 6 days per week! A nice track for running and walking. The only very minor negative is a lot of teenagers congregating in the weight room after school that are sometimes not considerate of other patrons.

At first glance, this is a great facility - clean and well-appointed. But the more you experience the Champions Club, the more you realize that it's extremely lacking in member service. Every request, exchange and interaction with the employees and management is less than pleasant and almost never ends with the desired result. It seems like they just don't care about serving the members, or are at least really bad at it. You can tell that the management structure is extremely bureaucratic, and I guess that is to be expected of a gym run by a local government.

One prime example: Pickleball. There is clearly more member demand for more court hours for pickleball vs. any other court activity, yet management has ignored many comments, conversations and even a petition signed by 75 members! The decision-makers in management are never around to see or listen to members and the employees just follow orders. Bureaucracy defined.

It's actually astounding how a facility and organization built to serve its members can become so blindly backwards and come to think that the members are there to serve their schedule, needs, processes, and rules.

My other major complaint is that virtually everything in this facility is under-sized or under-appointed for the size of community that it serves. There is only one full basketball court (which has to be shared with volleyball, pickleball, and every other court sport). All of the group fitness rooms are too small (almost laughably so). And the cardio and weightlifting areas are too small / under-resourced and awkwardly situated.

Quick recap of other pros/cons:
- Swimming pool is great, but always has maintenance issues and lap lanes are too short
- Locker rooms are very nice
- Child care is great
- Great place for kids parties

The Champions Club would have 2x - 3x more members and participation if they put more thought and effort into these problems. They will continue to lose members as other gyms are built nearby (especially Life Time). It's sad to think of what it is vs. what it could and should be!

There have been multiple attempts to change the pickleball hours to the original 8-11 schedule, petitions signed, emails sent, you name it, we have done it and nothing has changed. It might be understandable if the court was going to be used, but right now there are at minimum 12 players getting kicked off for ZERO basketball players, or anyone for that matter. And when we try and advocate for change, nothing is done about it. Then when we try to meet with someone to discuss they can’t be bothered. It’s so ridiculous. The hours now are 7:30-10:30. The day care hours don’t even start till 8, so there typically aren’t enough players there at 7;30 cause everyone is dropping off their kids. The nets aren’t even set up by 7:30 cause “no one is there” how much more of a point do we have to prove to keep the hours like they were. My review is not got the policy itself, my review is not for the daycare staff, they’re incredible, the facility is nice… my review is for the lack of being heard when there so clearly is a problem desperately wanting to be addressed

I come here to use the Pickleball courts. The Pickleballl members have emailed, signed petitions, literally begged at this point to get more court hours but all of those requests have been ignored and denied. Their response to my emails have been that they want the courts to be fair for all members. Currently the Pickleball players get the court for 2 hrs during the summer and 3 hours in the fall. The basketball players get the courts for 14 hrs in the summer and 13 hours in the fall (with a few exceptions). The pickleball community is robust at the Champions club but every day they kick off 14-35+ Pickleball players to make room for 0-2 basketball players. I don’t know how this is “fair” and I don’t know why our requests have constantly been denied.
In their email they also mentioned outdoor pickleball courts are coming- well, there are also outdoor basketball courts. Unless this is changed, I will be switching clubs as soon as Lifetime is built. The Champions club has already lost many pickleball patrons to other gyms.

With all that said. The childcare and it’s staff is phenomenal.

Club policy is that no instruction can be provided unless you are in an official lesson. Therefore, parents can not teach children to swim, parents can not teach children to kick a soccer ball, parents can not teach children to do anything. If you dare to help your own child improve you will be told to leave.

“Only Champions Club Team Members, authorized instructors and personal trainers performing within the scope of their duties may train or instruct guests. No unauthorized personal trainers, instructors, coaches or physical therapists are allowed to use Champions Club to train or instruct guests.”

I checked with membership services and confirmed this really is the official policy. Even though it doesn’t say parent, fiends or family - they are not allowed to provide instruction either.

They have a very onerous refund policy that must be followed to a T with no exceptions. Customer service is severely lacking when any modification or cancellation needs to be made.

Amazing club but like many I would prefer a property tax break. This city is out of control when it comes to spending. I hear they are now talking about building another library and no one uses the one we have now. They could have saved millions by not building the pool and indoor field. Seems like every time I come they are both not being used. 2.5% property tax in a area with big sale prices should be reduced before spending money like a drunken sailer. It doesn't matter if they use sales tax money to help pay for it because we all know that money wont cover it, and could be used for the general fund to help reduce property tax.
