My daughter has been taking ballet classes at Connolly for 3 years and absolutely loves it there. Ms. Sondra was so patient with her as a beginner and challenges her now that she has moved up a level. Ms. Vivian works with her on the little details that polish her performances and pushes her to do her best. They keep the classes fun with holiday parties and dress up days, while encouraging hard work and progress. My daughter is looking forward to adding even more ballet classes to her schedule next season.

We held our daughter’s party today at the studio. It was stress free and fun from start to finish. Our daughter and her 20 friends had the best time and she has already said she wants to have the same next year!

Our oldest daughter has danced at Connolly for 7 or 8 years...I honestly have lost track. It is a wonderful studio that is operated like a well-oiled machine. The Nutcracker performance each year has become a family tradition for some of our family and friends because it is so beautifully executed. It is the perfect display of talent, creativity, humor, and choreography that is always surprising us. Their recitals are top notch when compared to other performances we have watched.

One of the things that both my husband and I have noted recently of their director, instructors, and front desk staff is their commitment to the safety of CDA dancers. When parents are late or unaccounted for, dancers are watched and cared for until they arrive….especially during the months that it gets dark around 5 pm. That matters in this day and age.

Dancers are in excellent hands with safety, dance instruction, creativity, and a precious staff. We love CDA so much that our youngest daughter has joined the fun and has now begun her dance journey here too.

My daughter has been a student here since August 2021 for Ballet/Tap Combo. She absolutely loves her class and looks forward to it every week! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The place is super clean and I love the fact they have tables and chairs for the parents outside and view their children from the TV monitors. In addition, they have WiFi capability so we can work while your child is in dance class so its a WIN-WIN! I will be enrolling her again this year!

Three words to describe my experience with just 2 weeks! Unprofessional, And RUDE!!
My DD was enrolled here for just 2 weeks and the lack of communication and professionalism doesn't compare to the kinds of studios on the east coast. I have never been to a dance studio where the ballet teacher is teaching in sweats and is barefoot! What kind of example is that to the students??
I'm new to Texas and its disheartening to have this type of business in my neighborhood. A Name that I will never forget and you should too if you choose to keep your child in this dance studio "DO NOT" take classes with "Sondra" she is rude and unprofessional!! Screaming to parents because a question is asked about class etiquette is beyond my understanding.
They don't even deserve a 1 rating from me. It really is a 0.

My daughter loves dancing at Connolly Dance Arts for the past 6 years. She has danced in preschool through level 2 ballet, jazz, and tap classes. Our high school sophomore is just finishing up her first year with CDA. She took seven classes on a weekly basis (ballet, pointe, leaps and turns, jazz, modern/contemporary, and tap). She loved every minute of them and would have taken even more, if possible. She also helped out as a teacher's assistant in a ballet class for younger students and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As parents, we have found the studio to be very responsive and easy to communicate with and have been reassured by the preventive measures they have adopted during the pandemic such as masking, hand santizer, temperature checks and so on. This past weekend, we finally got to see our daughter dance for the first time in over a year at the recital. We were thrilled with the progress she has made since joining the studio. We were also very impressed with the whole recital experience - how smoothly and efficiently and on time the show ran, the skill level of all of the dancers, the beauty, quality and appropriateness of both the routines and the costumes, the communication from the studio in advance, the express directions on parking and entry for the venue - all of it. We are looking forward to the dance intensives this summer and another great season with CDA next school year.

My daughter has been dancing at CDA for eight years, and she loves it more and more each year. She has had a handful of CDA teachers through the years and learned a great deal from each of them, both in technique and even ballet vocabulary. I grew up in Connolly Dance Arts studio when she was located in the West Houston area and now my daughter has the pleasure of being a student at this dance studio . CDA is very professional and the Dance teachers that my daughter has had have all been so nice and great with the kids . We are starting our 6th year here at this studio. I have two dancers. The staff are friendly and organized. If I have a question they can’t answer they are always quick to get back to me. I am impressed with my daughters knowledge of terminology and technique. We have danced competitively the last two years and the team does well as a whole. I am disappointed at the customer service and administration of this place. A company that deals with children should be more sensitive to certain things. My daughter was excited to have her trial class and start her lessons. She was all dressed up and they called to cancel 30 mins prior to the class time stating the class was full. I am highly disappointed and maybe it is a blessing in disguise. If I was contacted, I would have signed up right away. I am not sure why a trial class is even offered if as soon as someone signs up, it takes precedence without any option for the person who signed up for the trial class. This is an absolutely ridiculous policy, especially dealing with small children! I will not be signing up with this school and will not recommend them for anyone!!!

My grandchild was a member of the junior company at Connolly Dance Arts. She experienced bullying from another team member which was not properly addressed. While at a recent convention my grandchild experienced the bullying again. My daughter who was alone tried to address this matter but the response she received from the other parents was unwelcoming and she felt threatened especially when the child's father addressed her and continued to make comments to her after she asked him to back off. My daughter is the youngest of my 7 seven kids. She is also the quietest and perhaps considered the softest and, extremely proper in her mannerism. She called us half crying about how she was harrassed. We could barely make our her words because the music was so loud. Her siblings reacted immediately, being that she is the baby and to them always will be and they headed to the event. My daughter who is extremely against confrontation went out of the event, leaving her child with a stranger to stop them from creating a scene. She begged then to leave and insisted that she only wanted her nephew to stay and just escort her and my grandchild. Her nephew, my other grandchild, is only a few years younger and I raised him as a child so he grew up with her like a sibling, saw her crying and against her request for him to stay in the car because she knew he would be stereotyped as "ghetto" after her encounter with the parents since he had dreadlocks and had gotten dark from the sun, he got out to console her. He didn't feel comfortable leaving her. He decided to wait on a bench. He heard racial comments about him being there but in respect to his aunt, he kept quiet. My daughter was told before his arrival that both parents would meet and talk and they would go forward as a team. However it changed after her nephew showed up. She never got the opportunity to meet and the owner wouldn't call her back. Instead, she was told her child was no longer allowed loto be on the team. Many lies were stated including that my daughter threatened to call her husband to beat them up. I sat in this studio before a few times. I never felt comfortable. I saw the mom's talking about other kids and, also their parents. I also sensed a racial prejudice. I decided not to discourage my grandchild. After living 70 years, I have come to know that ignorance is everywhere and that all you can do is is pray for those who are ignorant. I just hate that she and my grandchild had to experience this. I never preached division nor racial bias . My kids went to multicultural schools and had friends of diverse backgrounds. I have seen the progression over the years towards equality but unfortunately there is always a bad apple among the bunch.

I have known Kathleen Connolly since the early 80's. My daughter took dance from her and became a classroom assistant at Linda English Dance. I could see right away that she was not only an excellent teacher of dance but of life lessons, grace, and humility. I moved my business next door to this studio in 1988 and shortly after Kathleen became the owner and the school became Connolly Dance Arts. The walls in this complex were so thin that I could hear every sound that cam...e out of the studio for about 9 hours a day. This being said, I witnessed most the conversations that Kathleen had with parents and students. Kathleen was always kind and caring and had the knack of bringing out the best in every child. The students at the studio were from every ethnic background and every size and shape. I never saw Kathleen treat any person any different from the next person. My daughter danced with this studio until she left for college. I continued my relationship with the studio because I had so much respect for Kathleen and the way she taught and mentored so many young people. Kathleen later moved to Katy and soon it became time for my 3 granddaughters to start dance and there was never a question about who would teach them. I am so proud that they have the legacy of dance and they are making lifetime memories as well as learning the same confidence and grace that I have always seen Kathleen instill in every child that would accept these life lessons. I have known Kathleen well and have never seen an ounce of discriminatory attitude in her body and would never tolerate such behavior in her studio. I am a very proud sponsor of Connolly Dance Arts.

Connolly Dance Arts is an outstanding dance studio! All three of my daughters and myself have studied dance at Connolly over the years. The owner cares about each family, and gives back to the community year round. The teachers are exceptional, the staff is friendly, and the studio is always clean. The Nutcracker and Spring Recital are very organized and no detail is overlooked. My daughters have learned great technique and some very important life lessons from participating the Intensive Dancer Program, including hard work, discipline, teamwork, self confidence, humility and grace. We have been with Connolly Dance Arts for 2 years now. This is our 2nd studio in the Katy area and I wish we had started here earlier. The dedication of the staff to teaching technique and performance to the kids is great. Both my girls are given great attention and respect in class and out of it. My oldest especially has blossomed as a dancer in her time spent at Connolly. I always feel they have the best interests of my daughters at heart in their teaching and in their rules and practices.

Both of my girls have been a part of the Connolly family for many years. You can scroll down this page and see how Kathleen has helped so many families. She has created a warm environment for kids with autism to learn how to dance. After the hurricane devastated so many in our community, Kathleen opened her doors and raised thousands of dollars for our community. If you listen to Kathleen during recital weekend, you will hear her say every child's name. I just find it amazing that she is able to personally know all these faces and put them with names. On a personal note, I told her that my daughter would not be able to take hip hop because I would not buy another pair of shoes. The very next day, she took my daughter to Dancer's Closet and made sure she had shoes to take the class. How many owners would do something like that?

The company director, Joeley Fowler, is a second mom to my kids. Joeley hasn't just taught a dance team that is now National Champions, she has helped my kids learn the importance of sportsmanship on and off the dance floor. It's easy to have a good attitude when you win, but how you lose can often say a lot more about a person. When I go to these dance competitions, our dance team stands out. We have a diverse group of girls of all shapes and sizes that are clothed in costumes that are age appropriate. We win with choreography that makes the parents/dancers proud.

My daughter has been with this studio for over 8 years. She has been in company for 5 of those years. The teachers have helped her to grow as a dancer and person. They have taught her how to handle success, failure and conflict. They have given her opportunity that she would not have had elsewhere. They stress that dance is supposed to be fun and address dance drama when it happens. They do not stress winning at all costs. We LOVE Connolly Dance Arts and BTW - we are minorities, too.

This has been our studio for over 6 years and it has taught my daughters to not only be great dancers, but to work hard, be apart of something bigger than yourself, and what dedication truly means. I have been going to this dance school for about 6 years now and I am very impressed! My teachers helped me and my dance friends the whole step of the way. Many of my teachers had kind hearts and always complimented us on how we're doing. I understand that there are some bad things about this school but I am able to work with it. There was a time where I signed up for hip hop for a year but when we went to the front desk to confirm it they said I wasn't in the class. It turned into a problem but they gave us a solution very quickly! We just signed me up again and bam, I was in class! I would recommend this dance school to anyone with a passion to dance or just wanting to try something new. These teachers and staff gave me confidence for my older life.

Although the lobby and studio was very neat, clean and in a great location. I was not impressed with the teacher, staff, and professionalism of the studios staff altogether. This was my daughters first time in a ballet class and we were trying out the studio as she has had no professional training, no background in dancing and was very excited to do something new as she is an avid horseback rider and tomboy at heart. Well she is 9 and wanting to be a bit more elegant and we nourish any desire our kids have. I was disheartened by the teachers attitude towards my daughter. I am no softy by any means and do not want anyone to "baby" my child. My girl is tough, she is strong and independent and when a teacher makes her feel out of place and put down as a first timer, as I explained on the phone that she was when I made the appointment, the instructor should not ever put my daughter down or tell her she is not "keeping up" or "not doing a good job" when she has no idea what she is doing. My suggestion is to make a class once a week or month for trial runs or first timers, or have a more patient, kind instructor to help with new comers. It's a shame, I was very excited about the location, the amenities such as the viewing screens, and the eat/shops around the studio. Its a good thing I raised a strong girl and she just brushed it off. Also, when a parent asks how their child did in the class it might be a good idea to not put your hands on your hips and head tilt to the side and say ugh well she did...alright, right in front of her and everyone else. Maybe lift up the new student and make the parent feel good and if there were any immediate concerns such as behavior or distractions pull me aside (which there weren't) to speak with me in private. Demeanor says it all. I am so curious to see the email I was promised about the notes she took on my daughters first time ever in ballet. I am glad we did a trial run and grateful I did not sign up or register online before checking it out. It sure does look wonderful but id rather be in a shack with good, humble, down to earth people/instructors rather than somewhere where putting down a little girl on her first ballet practice is something the studio is ok with.

I had a bad experience at this school, my doughter went to go rehearsal yesterday ,the rehearsal time is 5:30pm-6:45pm, but when I got MRHS , it was over, I asked them, they said they sent e-mail two month ago, but new e-mail still display 5:30-6:45pm, it's such of waste time and money!
One year ago, my doughter lost a pair of Nike shoe (almost brand new) at school, I asked them help , they said no.

Daughter's team was eliminated without explanation. Any child who isn't already an elite dancer has no chance at this place because they only care about the girls who have been there since they could walk. Some instructors are really nice, but they also have a few who ignore girls who, again, haven't been there for years. So if your child is under 5, go ahead and join. If not, find someplace that will actually care about making your child a better dancer.

Connolly Dance Arts is more than a dance studio for my daughter Addison...it is her second home. There are so many wonderful things to say about Connolly Dance Arts. The owner, Kathleen, and all of the teachers are very dedicated to the children in teaching them technique while also making it an enjoyable environment. The teachers are adult professionals and knowledgable in all aspects of dance. As the mother of a pre-teen daughter, I am grateful that song choices and dance movements are age appropriate. They also have a wonderful company program for girls that are committed to dance and want to take their dancing to the next level with dance conventions and competitions.
