Just went to this gym for the first time. From out of state, meeting up with some friends, and I decided to buy a guest pass until I saw one of my friends in the gym. Asked them if there was any chance I could get a refund on the day pass since my friend’s pass allowed for guests, and they were nice enough to refund me. Great gym, lots of different equipment, and great staff as well. Would highly recommend this gym if you’re in the Temple area.

This is honestly a great gym with great equipment and great staff. I would highly recommend, I only canceled due to overcrowding. Definitely recommend if you don’t mind crowds or are flexible on your workout times!

My husband and I have been members of Crunch Fitness for two years. We truly enjoy our workouts at Crunch and our interactions with their great staff! Lots of free weights, cardio machines and gym equipment ensures availability for our workouts. And I love the hydrotherapy massage beds and sauna following my workouts.

I read the other reviews and was really hesitant to go here but gave it a chance.

I have to say some people are whiners and most bad reviews are about stopping payments.

But the gym?! Really helpful staff. Lots of equipment, so even during peak hours you can find what you need or have a short wait. Sanitizer sprays and paper towels are nearly always stocked well.

People don’t text on the machines for 20 minutes, they actually work out and move on.

The childcare area is decent, staff are nice, but you can’t complain when it’s up to 2 hours.

Way better than TruFit.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I signed up with the expectation of professionalism, but apparently, customer care here doesn’t exist. Despite providing documentation of a legitimate medical condition that prevents me from using their facility and personal trainers, they’ve flatly refused to offer any kind of refund or even a reasonable solution.

It’s astonishing how a “fitness center” that preaches health and wellness can show such blatant disregard for someone’s actual health. Policies are one thing, but hiding behind them while pocketing money from people who cannot physically use the service is disgraceful.

Take this as a warning: this isn’t a gym that values people—it’s a business that values squeezing every last dollar out of you, regardless of circumstances. If you’re considering signing up, ask yourself how comfortable you are throwing your money away, because once they have it, compassion and decency

Called and canceled our membership and was assured it was canceled. They kept taking/stealing money out of our account for months. Untrained staff, rude, not able to offer a solution to their mess up. Really frustrating. Not worth the hassle!

Have been here a few times as a stop between work trips and cants say I’m a fan. Has the typical Crunch equipment selection but for some reason every time I come here there are copious amounts of Fox News on the TVs. Why a professional business would plant its flag with a political propaganda station on either side of the aisle is beyond me. Talk about needlessly making your space less appealing to an entire demographic of people for no actual benefit. 1/5 do not recommend.

Pretty cool gym, but it takes them a little too long to fix equipment. I've told almost three different times that their rowers were all broken, which they only have three of them.

It's a little more expensive than planet fitness. Way to crowded during the day. I give it a low rating because I hate waiting for every exercise. The app always says moderate crowd even when super pact. I've been a member of this gym 2 times. The first time I left, they told me my membership was canceled at the desk to my face. They kept charging me for 3 months, and I had to get a new card. This place is great after everyone is asleep.

Unfortunately this gym has gone down hill since opening. Management is rude when trying to bring concerns to their attention and as a paying customer, there are several times where there are multiple pieces of equipment that are out of order. Even heard their GM state “well you have to be a little two faced in this industry” - not the positive and uplifting environment that it once was.

Sunday, June 6th at 8:00 PM, I had the pleasure of being greeted by an incredibly warm and welcoming front desk associate at Crunch Fitness. From the moment my friend and I walked in, she made us feel genuinely appreciated with her bright smile and kind words. Her hospitality was beyond exceptional—she went out of her way to ensure we felt valued and comfortable in the space.

Her dedication to creating a positive experience for members is truly commendable. She embodies everything that makes a gym environment inviting, and I sincerely hope she continues to thrive in this company. Crunch Fitness is lucky to have someone as friendly, professional, and committed as her.

Staff friendly at times, according to which one it is, excellent cleaning crew, but the music, yelling, and screaming exploding out of the cardio classes, and class in the back is way too loud, to excessive, I don't understand why they don't at least close the doors to that section, I wear headphones with noise reduction and it's like not wearing anything at all to enjoy my own style of music, I enjoy working out here, and look into renewing my membership, but the concern of the loud excessive music, and noise needs to be addressed, hearing is a valuable sense, especially as you get older, thanks, and still no resolve to the loud music, I think I'll start bringing me a boom box

Do not go here, work out anywhere else. I was so aggravated by my experience today i am writing this review at a stoplight on my way home. The staff take no accountability for the people at the gym , they let people slam the free weights EVERYWHERE. I was working out in the private workout room with my sound suppression headphones, and the door room closed . I have chronic migraines that can cause blindness in my eyes, and even with all of the precautions i took , A young man was taking the free weights at the squat rack and SLAMMING them into the ground, to the point where (if you don’t know the gym is located on a tectonic plate) where i genuinely thought a earthquake was happening. When i went outside to look , this man was throwing these plates on the ground on purpose, ego lifting. If you cannot control the weight of what’s on your bar it’s unsafe , loud, and damages the equipment. I had to sit down for 30 minutes to make sure i had regained my vision from the sound . He continued to slam the weights for almost an hour, the staff do not care about the experience of the other people at the gym , nor the safety of the people at the gym who are slamming their equipment. When i say this experience was so bad i had to pull over to write this , i am so genuinely serious.

Finally made it in person to cancel my membership today after months of attempting to cancel through the phone and also sending my wife in person to cancel on my behalf. Would not recommend this gym as they told my wife it would be 30 if I cancelled that day and 54 if I cancelled in May because I’d have to pay for another month on the lowest tier mind you. Went in today, a couple weeks later from the last date she tried to cancel for me and they made me pay 98 dollars in order to walk away. Go to a different gym, this one is not it.

Horrible horrible horrible gym. My husband tried to cancel in March, but they wouldn’t let him cancel over the phone. He works in Austin so it’s nearly impossible for him to get to Temple with the traffic on the daily to cancel in person. I also tried to cancel for him as his wife and they wouldn’t let me in April. They told me he would have to pay 30 to cancel. When he went in there today, a couple weeks later he now is obligated to pay 100 in order to cancel. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. And they just changed their policy this week that you can cancel over the phone. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will be cancelling my membership also now. If you’re looking for a gym, I wouldn’t pick this one.

I've only been twice but both times I was greeted with a smile and welcome.
I work nights and even at 3 in the morning they still greet me with a smile.
Every time I got to the front the staff is friendly and helpful. They even welcomed me on my first day and asked if I had any questions or wanted to be shown around. The atmosphere is very welcoming and everyone seems to be focused on just being themselves.
I might make this my home gym forever.

I just wanted to speak about a young woman whom i had an unforgettable experience with.
Destiny i believe is her name, i was in on a guest pass and had no idea what i was doing, she was kind and greeted me as soon as i walked in, i don't think she knew i was about to walk out due to my anxiety.
Instead she greeted me and made me feel welcomed so i was comfortable enough to ask her for advice on working out and not only did she give me advice but, she gave me an entire workout and walked me through it.
She was patient and smiled the entire time. I was dealing with a lot at the time and didn't want to go to the gym that day , but just that one time with her changed my perspective on working out.
She gave me some great advice that i will always carry with me and because of that,Now i train because it helps me mentally

I was interested in joining a gym and just stopped in to check it out as I was driving by. I saw that they offered memberships starting at $9.99 and was skeptical at first. After entering I was approached with in a minute by the manager and given a full tour of the facility and classes and services offered. I had intended to shop around but was so blown away by the depth and detail of all that was offered I decided to stay. I was recommended for the middle class program that is less than $40 per month and has access to several training groups and classes, dry sauna, hydro massage's, tanning beds and red light therapy! Been going to gym now about a month and I'm completely impressed. It's opened up new experiences and radically changed my ideas and fitness goals. The gym is open 24/7 but I found out it's a little crowded in the early mornings so I tend to go around 9-10 am and there are more than enough machines to accommodate! I would definitely recommend to others, in fact I'm trying to get my mom to join!

My spouse went to this gym 1 time on a 99cent join deal. Since then we been charged 19.99 I’m assuming for a “monthly fee” granted he signed up for the base plan . And 55.99 for I’m assuming the annual fee. It’s only been 1 1/2 month. They so damn quick to charge my card they don’t even know if my husband even likes the damn gym.

Then go on to request cancellation. Automated system says online or in person. These people called my husband to say come in person fill out more reasons to cancel and o yea 20 dollar exit fee.

Maybe we didn’t read enough signing up. I’ll take that responsibility. But overall waste of money for someone who only went to the gym 1 time and is telling you they didn’t enjoy the experience. SMH no money even offered back to us

Been coming here for a while. It is bigger compared to the one in killeen, but the only issue is the staff. The staff here in temple are trash. They don't acknowledge you. The dont give you the greeting of the day, you say thank you after walking out and they ignore you. The staff here don't compare one but to the staff in killeen. Do better. Yeah the gym is bigger but if the staff is trash why come here? Do better.

Pros:
Wide variety of equipment: Crunch Fitness boasts an impressive selection of cardio machines, including treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes, all in excellent condition. The weight room is also well-equipped with a good range of free weights and resistance machines, catering to all fitness levels.
Clean and well-maintained: The facility is consistently clean and tidy. I've never encountered dirty equipment or locker rooms. The staff clearly takes pride in maintaining a hygienic environment.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff: The trainers and front desk staff are always friendly and helpful.
Convenient location and hours: The gym's location is perfect with ample parking available. The 24x7 hours also make it easy to fit in a workout, with one’s busy schedule.
Good value for money: The membership fees are reasonable compared to other gyms in the area, especially considering the range of amenities offered.
Kids Center: If you are a single parent or need your kid to be taken care of while you workout, there is a kid’s corner, which also has a movie section.
Cons:
Can get crowded during peak hours: As with any popular gym, it could get quite crowded, especially in the evenings and on weekends. Sometimes it can be difficult to find an available machine or bench.
Overall:
This is a great fitness center that offers a wide range of equipment, a clean and well-maintained environment, and a friendly atmosphere. While it can get crowded at times, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for a well-equipped and affordable place to work out. A quick mention about Elijah, who helped me when I needed a tire change after I had a flat tire on a very cold windy night.

They advertise $9.99 to sign up but it's a scam. You have to pay $75 upfront and they don't give you the option to cancel. It's not like planet fitness where all you have to do is walk in...in person and cancel. No they want to charge you fees on top of fees and have you mail in a cancelation which from the reviews I read on here they pretend they never receive your mail in cancelation request so they can keep making $ off you. Avoid this place.

This is Jason Nance. I started Crunch on Jan 1st and have not looked back... every staff member is A+ #1 in my book. i'm new and everyone makes me feel like family and you can see it in the way the staff treat each other and guest. I don't know all their name yet but one interaction stands out. Elijah (A real one) took time away from his job to come help jump start my truck in the freezing cold. like i said "A Real One". And Ayshi/Dallas, always full of life and her smile brightens the world, took her time with me and helped me get the message to Elijah's manager... So 10 stars is not even enough.. by the way I'm the crazy dude on the treadmill, stop and say hi!!!!!

I’m extremely disappointed with Crunch Gym. I sent my cancellation form via US mail as instructed, well ahead of my renewal date. Despite this, they claimed they never received it and charged me for another year. When I contacted them to resolve the issue, they were unhelpful and insisted on charging me for the second year of membership.

This feels like a blatant money grab, and their lack of accountability and poor customer service is unacceptable. If you’re considering joining, be aware that canceling your membership might turn into a frustrating ordeal.

I will gladly delete this review once they cancel my contract without additional fees and resolve this issue fairly. Avoid this gym if you value your time, money, and peace of mind!

I've had several gym memberships throughout Temple and Crunch Temple is my favorite. One of the main reasons are the group classes and most importantly the staff members here. There is one that stands out the most and that is Josie!

Josie is an incredible instructor at Crunch Fitness! Her energy is contagious and one of the main reasons why her classes have such a great turnout. She is always on time, if not early, and consistently delivers an amazing workout. Josie has a talent for articulating instructions clearly, making her classes easy to follow whether you're a beginner or more advanced. She knows how to push those who are ready for a challenge while accommodating those who need modifications. Her enthusiasm and dedication truly set her apart. Highly recommend her classes to anyone looking for a great workout and positive atmosphere!

Crunch is running the greatest scam ever existed. So I went there at the beginning of Aug to join. and they explained to me the membership differences and I asked about the cancellation so they said you can cancel it at any time with no fees if you get the peak or peak plus. So I said ok I’ll get the peak membership bcz Idk how long I will be at Temple for. So exactly a month later I had to move to VA. I told them the area that I moving to and apparently there is no crunch in there. So I asked them to cancel the membership since I’ll not be using it anymore. Here come the scam, so if you want to cancel you have to pay any fees scheduled in the next 30 days according to Crunch cancellation policy which suddenly appeared now but was not existed when I first asked about it. So I will have to pay 30 bucks for the next month and will have to pay 62 bucks the annual fees and already paid 30 bucks for the first month so that’s make it 122 bucks for just one month at Crunch fitness. And when I asked why? They said to avoid the people who just subscribe for the offers and then cancel! Okay but what about people who did really pay for that month and there were no offers incl! The employees are very nice and they understood my point but I blame the corporate. If they think they will make money by running this scam shame on them! Talking to you from VA

I just started frequenting this gym, and I go during non peak hours. Plenty of equipment to use, they have power rack which is good if you like to do power cleans. The only reason for the 4 star is the locker rooms, it is dirty for the times I have been, some of the showers do not have decent water pressure. This area should be cleaned often to reduce risk for bacteria. Just my 2 cents.

These stars are based only off of child care on this location.

The ladies in child care area don’t come across motherly loving towards my kids.
I’ve went to other locations with crunch where ladies and super sweet and love my children and it shows.

My one and a half year old had bit another kid just after being there for not even 10 minutes. A lady called me stating “we can’t have that so you need to come get your child”
Typically whenever I would go at other locations, they always had the small babies separate but not here. I even asked if they could separate her in the little baby play pin and another worker said “uhh that would be a question for my boss and they just left..”

It’s frustrating because we PAY EXTRA for our 4 children to go.

So I'm a truck driver, I parked in a designated area and wanted to go into the gym just to wash my hands didn't want to work out just wanted to wash my hands and leave, so I go to the front desk and speak with a guy named Alex who told me I could not enter the gym because I don't have a membership fair enough, so as I am leaving the gym I asked the guy what's his name He caught attitude with me and said do you want my boss's name too and I said if you want to give it to me I mean it's not really needed so I get the name and proceed to go back to my truck so I get online and get a membership mind you a 7-day membership which is a free trial so I enter the gym again I did not go to the bathroom I waited until I saw Alex to show him that I do have proof of obtaining a membership so he tries to block me making it seem like I was going to rent into the gym but I didn't I stayed at the front desk I talked to him I showed him and then he turned the whole thing around and saying He did not like the way I was talking to him and I proceed to tell him I didn't disrespect you I did exactly what you asked me to do and I did it and I just want to wash my hands I don't want to work out Wash my hands and I'm leaving so he proceeds to call the police on me. Police get here and explain the story then they want to make it seem like I'm the bad guy when all I wanted to do was wash my hands now they're saying that they banning me from the gym which is fine but all of this just because I wanted to wash my hands and I got a membership that I can't use Even if I wanted to.

This gym is absolutely absurd with blasting obnoxious music and by having large classes interrupting everyone else’s workout. Close your classes door and lower the music. It’s seriously miserable trying to workout here during any sort of peak hour. I’m cancelling my membership.

The training staff at this location is extremely rude. I came to work out in the HIIT area today. Before I came I checked the the crunch app to make sure there were no classes scheduled blocking off the HHIT area. And there were none scheduled. 30 minutes into my heavy bag workout a female trainer tells me that I have to leave the area in 5 minutes. I told her that on the app there were no classes scheduled at this time. She then said that the personal trainers had their own training scheduled and it doesn't go on the app, and I should have checked Facebook to find out about the scheduling. Then when I told her I don't use Facebook, she told me then I shouldn't come to Crunch then. After that the conversation devolved and I left. Why pay to go to a gym where the trainers think they are more important than the customers who go there, and dont want you there? Great way to motivate people to get in shape. Perhaps they need customer service training instead of whatever training they were planning in the HIIT.

I think if you pay online it's cheaper than in person. Online for the year is like 170 all together, but when I went in at the Temple tx store, they told me the total was around 250. I've been going to crunch for about 3-4 years, not the one in Temple. This is the first time crunch fitness has tried to charge me over 200 for a whole year. I'm sorry but I won't be attending the crunch temple because of how there are different prices. Goodbye crunch, youve become a thief.

I love crunch been coming here since day one... the staff is great, the environment is great. It's not as crowded as it used to be and my only complaint is when something breaks ot takes too long to fix it, the men's sauna has been broke a a few weeks now and there is no estimated time for it to be fixed. Most likely someone messed with it and broke it.. but please get it fixed It's one of the best parts of a gym.

The staff is friendly. Everyone does a good job of wiping down equipment after use. If I'm going to gripe it would be 2 things. 1. Too many people don't know how or don't rerack their weights. It's not that much more effort to do it right. 2. The bathrooms and especially the tanning rooms could be cleaner. The same empty cleaning bottle has been in there for over a month. That's kind of gross.

I’ve been coming here since they opened and my honest review it the gym is crowded as hell all the time unless you are a night owl. They now have the bicycle room locked up so even though you pay for the premium membership your not allowed to use the bikes now which means there should be a discount on the membership if you can’t access the bicycles. The towel bins are always out. The gym was at one point awesome but now slowly declining.

I've had a membership for many months now, and I appreciate the variety of workout equipment, amenities, and classes. Gym is always clean, plenty of lockers available, and the staff are friendly. Membership is affordable with options for all budgets.

I would probably only use the childcare for kids ages 8+, as I have occasionally noted inadequate supervision of younger children.

I also had a good experience with my personal trainer. She was always encouraging and pushing me for progress.

Financial recommendations for contracts... do NOT get into a contract unless you can very comfortably afford the payments. If you can barely afford them, don't do a contract. If your expenses rise in 6 months, it is nigh impossible to get out of it.

I love CRUNCH; the Temple location opened FEB 2023, I signed up specifically for the fitness classes and I couldn’t rave more about how much I enjoy going everyday. They offer strength/agility/ mobility/+cardio classes in the morning/night. I’m a newly retired Army veteran and love the sense of community everyone at CRUNCH fosters as well as my fellow classmates! The classes bring all different shapes/sizes/ages and levels of fitness, but we all of walk out getting the best-quickest(time goes by in a snap) workout! The facility is clean, has every machine you could think of…hydra-massage beds/saunas to help muscles post workout…tanning (spray too), red light therapy. I don’t use their trainers, but there are plenty to chose from depending on your goals. Safe area, good parking.

There are different areas like the cycle room, and the HIITZONE. Wide variety of equipment and free weights. Sauna, hydro massage, red light therapy, personal trainers, daycare, plus It’s also very clean. The atmosphere is AWESOME! I recommend Crunch in general but HIGHLY recommend this location.

The employees did not acknowledge me and hubby when we walked in, nor acknowledged that we were leaving, the tops of the machines and ledges were dusty, all of the feet of the machines needed a really good vacuum and wipe down. The trainer desk area had a cord coming from the lower cabinets just laying on the floor, there was beige debris all on the floor (looked like nuts) and the chairs were not pushed in but looked scattered. The tanning room had lots of hair and dirt on the floor and the bed itself needed to be wiped down prior to usage. Im putting three stars because the facility is large and the layout is very functional. The TRX/posing room is a plus for competitors.

Great clean gym with good equipment and staff. My one complaint is that it’s been more than one occasion now that they don’t have a functioning water fountain for some period of time.

I get things break sometimes. But this is water we’re talking about in a gym. At least provide free water bottles temporarily if there is no working source of water.

I had to cancel my membership due to a herniated disc in my back, let me tell you. HIDDEN fees, cancelling is hard as all heck. Management will tell you “oh I got your membership cancelled” and then a month later tell you “oh I didn’t cancel it last time” when explaining to you why you got a 60$ charge on a cancelled account.

TLDR:management misleads people, very hidden fees in fine print, very difficult to cancel, management doesn’t understand human emotions and treat us like they have no emotion.

Canceled Three memberships in early June, only to find out that one membership was not canceled. The lady at front informed me that I canceled the membership at another location, which made no sense because I don’t live or frequent Waco. Three memberships were canceled that day, I distinctly remember the young man who was supposed to do his job stated, “I just came off of vacation and you’re canceling your memberships”. In order for me to cancel the membership they failed to do previously, I had to either pay 27.05 upfront or have it taken from my account. Never again Crunch

Update: Charged again, will be making another trip to crunch.

"Certain rules for certain people". I will start by saying overall the appearance and type of equipment meets most workout expectations.

Now on the other hand, the staff's treatment of "certain" members is horrendous and really disheartens me. I have personally overheard and witnessed staff members openly bad mouth members especially those of minority descent. Everything from profane language to vulgar descriptive conversations which include but are not to limited to implicating the use of false allegations to get "certain" members banned. These same staff members target guests by trying to over enforce rules for some while not equally enforcing rules for others. If you're asking why I have not reported it to management? That is because 2 of the several conversations I have heard involved members of management! I realize this review may open me to targeting but I could not live with myself if I did not speak up in regards to what I have seen and been exposed to. In 2023 you think they would want to foster a welcoming all inclusive gym environment but thus far, I have seen that it takes a certain complexion for protection at this gym.

The gym is pretty great really spacious and a great place to work out at the only problem that I had with it is my boyfriend payed to have a personal trainer and his trainer gave him a list of exercises for him to do and one of the exercises had to pertain to using dumbbells and I didn't like that the trainer wasn't there to show him how to do the exercises that was on the list given to him because my boyfriend
ended up hurting his back and I was not happy at all I feel like none of that would have even happened of his trainer would have been there to help him with the exercise. I feel like the trainers need to do a better job on showing there customers how to do the exercises. I think that the trainers need to see there customers more than just 1 time out of the while week. I feel they should meet with there customers at least 3-4 times a day out of the week but only 1 time is ridiculous.

The gym itself is nice, clean and spacious. All the equipment you could want or need for an awesome workout. However be careful when signing up for Personal Training, they are not accommodating to life issues. They make you sign up on a tablet without reading the “fine print” until after. I tried to put my sessions on pause til the end of summer due to not being able to come with kids home, they said no I would have to continue being charged with no way to cancel. I loved that the Gym membership was no commitment and can cancel anytime but the PT department is completely different and they could care less if you need out for any reason. Now I will be cancelling my whole membership as soon as possible.

Great space. Went to try out the Ride bikes and they ride so silky smooth it's like riding on a cloud. Gym is clean. Staff was friendly and greeted me as I entered. The managing partner is extremely friendly, funny and professional. He's always ready to hear suggestions and complaints. He doesn't flat out tell members no they're not getting anything. Sauna is amazing, just wish you could both wear at least flip flops or slippers instead of going in barefoot or in socks. Also wish you could take water in the sauna. I suffer from dry mouth so I'm always sipping on something especially in the gym and I stay in the sauna for long periods since the Crunch in Killeen does not have one. Very nice gym but The training “assistant manager” has the worst attitude. I lost all interest in training when my best friend tried to cancel her contract . Instead of catching an attitude , please explain something like the other trainer I spoke to near the front desk.
