I came in with significant shoulder pain and very limited range of motion. I tried to rehab it on my own for about 6 months, and it only got worse.

Kris built a program and adapted it as my mobility and pain levels improved. I have zero pain now and better range of motion than before the injury. Their custom approach is what finally made the difference for me.

I’m training beyond the rehab now, and the gains continue to show up in my runs and strength work.

I have struggled with neck and hip pain for 5-10 years. Kris has been able to observe my posture, flexibility, movements, and weaknesses, and provided targeted exercises that have minimized both pains significantly. When I started working with Kris you could say I was "cautiously optimistic." Prior to working with Kris, I had worked with multiple Physical Therapists, received steroid shots and multiple types of massages, but I would only have mild successes for short periods of time. This is the first time, I have hope that maybe I can get lasting relief and have the ability to enjoy life as I age.

Absolutely love Custom Fitness of Amarillo. Highly recommend this place. I am in my 60s and this is the place for me. They understand the needs of older folks whose bodies need different workouts than a 20 year old workout needs. This statement is what cause me to start my workouts at Custom Fitness: "Our approach at Custom Fitness is just that! We focus on functional exercises and equipment that are gentle on your joints and start you off from where you are now (without comparing you to anyone else)."
I am currently doing personal training, group training and nutritional. On the personal training, Konner is an excellent trainer. He works to design a customized program for my body and my goals. Every several weeks, he reevaluate where I am to see which areas need to be improve. There are some days where my body is not working the way it should, so he will change up that workout for that day. He works with me on improving my strength, endurance and flexibility. Also less pain in my joints. I had a choice of the number of times I see a personal trainer and I chose three times a week. You can chose for example once or twice a week.
I have small group training with Kaleb. He leds the group very well, explains and shows each exercise. When he explains how to do the exercise, he is also explains which area of the body it is working and why. Kaleb has also been helping with my personal training when Konner could not be there for a session. Excellent job Kaleb.
Kris helps me with proper guidance on nutrition. We meet once a month to discuss nutrition. She have help me realize what nutrients I am missing by my food choices. She helps me to come up with a plan to work on areas needed, like drink more water, etc. She helped me to use alternate foods/activities when I was under a lot of stress with life happenings. In the meeting, we discuss what I feel I did well on and what I feel I need to work on. She has also helped me when I get overwhelmed with house cleaning, to stop and break it apart into small parts instead of just seeing the whole. Kris is also excellent as nutrition coaching and trainer.
I would highly recommend this place because you are not just a number in a huge gym when they don't know what exercises would work for you. These people care about your success in improving your mobility, strength, balance, and range of motion.

Kris is very professional. She values my time and addresses the specific issues that I have. I have many injuries that take individual attention. She addresses these issues in a holistic manner, which incorporates sleep, diet, neuromuscular components, travel challenges, allergies, and physical exercises that address my specific issues. I appreciate her personal training approach because many personal trainers have only told me to β€œdo 20 squats, 10 push-ups”, etc. This type of program has only harmed my body because of my specific issues. Kris assesses my individual needs and then addresses those needs that bring about desired results. Since I have been seeing Kris for the last year, I have felt better than I have in several years. I am slowly getting better because we are addressing my specific issues, not the issues of every other person my age. Additionally, Kris has also helped me to build a diet program that fits me, not everybody else. This part of my program is helping me reach my personal goals so that I can function at a high level of productivity at my age. I also really appreciate the group classes that meet every day. These classes address core, balance, and mind exercises that are appropriate for all ages of people. These classes do not tire me out but allow me to step into 30 minutes of training every day without me having to figure out everything on my own. Custom Fitness is β€œthe whole meal deal β€œ. Custom Fitness has helped me tremendously in getting mobility back and feeling great again!!

I was having painful and debilitating issues with both knees from playing pickleball. It got to where I was not able to walk easily and I struggled to move from sitting to standing up. Kris has worked with me over several months with a combination of physical therapy and specific exercises for my body that I needed for healing.

I am thrilled and amazed with the results I am experiencing!! I am walking with no pain and no issues at all in movements that were almost impossible for me a few months ago!
I was able to ease back into pickleball this week and my body did great! I am 54 and was afraid it might just be downhill from here! I am feeling better than I have felt in years!

I mainly went in for nutrition advice from Kris. She talked me through what I already knew, but needed a reminder. This is the case with most people. Anyways, she was great in setting me up a calorie intake with macro percentages that I trusted, not random guesses from the multiple internet sites that claim to know how to figure your nutrition information. Kris knew my job already, how active I was so I totally trusted her figures. She responded to each of my questions within a 24 hour period. I’d recommend her advice 100%. She knows her stuff.

I love this place! Everyone is so caring and helpful. I really liked access to the 3D body mapping. It was very revealing! In the time I was there I was able to get a handle on better nutrition and learn better ways to work out at home and still get the results I wanted. Custom Fitness is a great place to work out! The trainers push you to be better each time. The early morning crew, Jesse and Justin are good at keeping you going when you don't think you can go another minute. They listen to you and help you adjust when needed while not accepting excuses. What a wonderful, positive environment in which to work on your fitness! Every four weeks we get a new program written specifically to help us reach our individual goals and needs. We love this as we never get stuck in a rut with our routine. When I was pregnant with our second child, I wanted to do everything in my power to deliver naturally and signed up for Kris' prenatal class to mentally and physically prepare myself. I received more than just a safe workout during my pregnancy but also valuable advice and genuine support. I absolutely believe that had a huge impact on successfully delivering with no medication or intervention, the way I had hoped. Afterward, I began taking advantage of her personal training and nutritional counseling. The trainers at Custom Fitness are attentive and encouraging. They are approachable, not intimidating, and offer coaching for my personal progress without sounding judgmental or cold. Workout sessions are not interrupted by personal texts or distractions, and I feel really valued. Another added bonus is the spectacular open play area for my young children to stay busy and have fun while I workout. They are within my vision and earshot the entire time, so I never worry about them while I workout. I have been with Kris as my personal trainer for over 10 years. I HATE any form of exercise: strength training, cardio, balance or stretching. I don't feel better after it. But if I don't do it with Kris, I feel WORSE, so that keeps me coming back. She is an excellent trainer and puts up with my whining :-)

If you are looking for a trainer, Kris is so good because of the CUSTOM part she does. I told her from the beginning that I NEVER wanted to do exactly the same thing from one session to the next, because I didn't want to DREAD coming. I love Custom Fitness! I've been training with Kris and her team for over a year now, both in-studio and online, and it's been a fabulous experience. I enjoy my one-on-one nutrition (therapy) sessions with Kris where she kindly steers me away from beer and gummy bears and gets me back on track. My training sessions are intense and there are a lot of times that I'm pretty sure I'm going to die if I have to do one more set (thanks, Justin!), but it's over in less than half an hour so somehow I survive. The sessions are lots of fun and I like that I can do them at home on the days I don't meet with my trainer AND I don't have to wear sneakers which is pretty awesome in my opinion. I grew up taking dance so I'm not comfortable in the typical gym and it's terrific having a semi-private atmosphere that is 100% non-threatening. I also appreciate having a workout that is customized to ME. Finally, one of the best things about Custom Fitness is the results. I can do a push-up. On my toes! Actually, I can do multiple push-ups. At one point in my life, I would have thought that was a miracle. Now I know it's a result of great training and hard work.

I am 35 years old and was recently pregnant with my second daughter. I love to exercise and am normally very active and fit. During my first pregnancy, I was able to maintain my pre-pregnancy workout regime throughout (with some minor modifications) including jogging and strength training. Unfortunately, this 2nd pregnancy was much harder with the majority of the first 5 months spent sick in bed. When I finally started to feel a little better (and got out of bed), I wanted to start exercising again but wasn’t sure the appropriate way to do so. I knew I couldn’t just jump back into my pre-pregnancy routine after so much time off. I remembered taking a prenatal yoga class with Kris during my first pregnancy (and LOVING it), so I got in touch with her again hoping she was still teaching. I learned of Amarillo Fit Mama and the personal training that Kris could customize for my pregnancy. This was the perfect solution to my dilemma! Every four weeks Kris created a new routine for me that was both appropriate for my stage of pregnancy and also challenging enough to improve my fitness. We would do the workout together once a week so she could check my form, and then I would do it 2 more times on my own with days of walking and yoga mixed in. Kris also did an assessment every four weeks to track my progress. Without her training schedule, I’m pretty sure I would have pushed too hard some days and skipped other days completely. Her workouts provided just the right level of difficulty (with optional modifications) and having a β€œplan” in itself was really helpful on days when I felt less motivated. Kris kept me accountable and pushed me to do my best, but she managed to do so while encouraging me and boosting me up. I also continued to train with Kris after my baby was born. She provided just the right exercises to help me heal and strengthen my body after the rigors of childbirth. Kris has been such a blessing in my life during both of my pregnancies, especially this one. My health and my baby’s health would not be where they are today if it weren’t for her expertise and thoughtfulness. I should also mention that not only is Kris a fitness guru, she is also an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to nutrition, holistic health, labor/childbirth and more – a great resource for anyone interested in feeling good for life.

This is the best fitness place that I have ever tried. I have been to a lot of gyms, had personal trainers, and tried many different diets. Everyone at Custom Fitness are so nice and supportive. They check in on how your progressing regularly. Kris doesn't give you a fad diet that you can't stick with, she teaches you how to eat how you want, to benefit you and your goals. The gym is VERY clean, and comfortable, they accommodate your children if you need to bring them, with no extra charge. The workouts are challenging without needing tons of equipment and machines. Justin is my personal trainer, and he's awesome. He is really good at customizing my workouts with my goals and hardships in mind, very knowledgeable and not overbearing like some trainers can be. Custom Fitness is EXACTLY what I need. For years, I was the type of person to blow off exercise because I did not want to be the "bulked up chick". I dabbled in running, swimming, biking, and several other activities, but nothing held my attention enough to make the changes I envisioned.

When I met with Kris, we developed my long term goals broken down into weekly routines. Granted the workouts are tough, but not in a daunting sense. Kris focuses on changing you from the inside out. In addition to muscle movement, she has a keen eye for nutrition, small changes you can incorporate in your daily life to transition into a fitness lifestyle, and a positive environment. She sees herself as part of the body change team.

When you begin you huff, puff, gripe, and you are pushed. There are days you think you don't have time or the grit to make it through, but you do.
