Absolutely great gym!

I’ve had an awesome experience every time I’ve come in. The equipment is always clean, the environment is motivating, and the whole place has a really welcoming vibe.

Big shoutout to Cameron and Derek! They’re super helpful, friendly, and always make sure everyone has what they need. Whether it’s answering questions, helping with equipment, or just creating a positive atmosphere, they go above and beyond.

Evolution Fitness is a great place to get your workout in. From the friendly staff to the equipment, you'll get a quality workout here. Ive been to other gyms and I got tired of people playing on their phone while sitting at a machine. I've haven't had that issue here yet. I personally enjoy coming here!

I been coming to this gym for a couple months, i have two kids that I bring from time to time, when I bring them & pick them up from the daycare the lady's that are working are always on there phones & never watching my kids or the other kids in the daycare. I tried to speak to the owner of the daycare & she said that I was lying & just trying to start stuff, why would I lie when I see it every time I come to drop them off! I am extremely upset, Never bringing my kids here again!

The gym has good equipment and a convenient setup, and most of the staff are great, but the older man shows little respect for female members. Men are also allowed to freely move in and out of the women’s-only section, even taking equipment and hanging around. It feels like the gym is offering a space they don’t actually believe in and won't protect.

It's really crowded. Most of the time, you have to wait for equipment, it's kind of cramped too. it's a decent gym and it has a lot of stuff, but there's a lot of downside to it as well.

Good all around, but really really really need ab machines. ALSO they bought new machines that have these little clips switches instead of holes for a weight pin so if you are a more advanced lifter you can't put an extension pin in. Bro pleeeeeeeease let me get big number

So now, oddly enough, I have to go to planet fitness for some things, especially abs. For the love of God please put in some heavy ab machines and get rid of your little clothing store that I have never in my life ever seen any make a purchase from.

Luckily there aren't too many of those little clip machines, I just hope they don't add any more. They also have dumbbells incrementing 2.5lbs up to 55 (my lat raise btw) then by 5 up to like 150 or something. The best thing about this gym is that a good chunk of the machines are plate loaded (even though some kind of lack in how much space they have on them). It's sort of annoying to be a 100% natural lifter and still max out machines, where am I supposed to go from here?

The crowd is generally more serious than planet fitness. At planet, being fit is the exception to the norm, here it is the norm. People are also way more friendly vs planet fitness where it's like you've offended someone's honor if you glance at them. I probably talk to someone every other time I come. Maybe I just have rbf at planet because it gives me the ick.

Great locally owned gym! Been coming here for almost two years. Plenty of equipment to workout, even during the extremely busy hours, you can make it happen.
Only downside (not the owners fault), is people do not know how to read and are constantly causing the sauna to stop working. For those of you who do not know, DO NOT POUR WATER INTO THE SAUNA HEATER!!! There’s a spray bottle in there one can utilize.

Gym equipment is fine, atleast the last time I was there it was. Warning it is over packed in peak hours, they keep wasting space with their Lame merchandise. Rather than using that space for more equipment that people who go frequently request for. Also if your "contract" expires they will continue to charge you at their monthly rate until you go in person to cancel unless you stop paying and they will send it to lovely debt collectors. bathrooms are dirty most of the time since they only have 1 or 2 people come in at night to clean.

Wanted to try this gym because it looks promising from the view I get from the mall. The website said to contact them for pricing so that's what I did. I was sent a text message and email offering me three free trial days. That seemed to good to be true, but I showed up ready to workout and was denied and told by the little blonde girl that I needed a day pass for 10 dollars. 10 bucks for a day pass is fine but I don't see why I can't be honored what I was offered. Other than that the trainer there seemed really helpful. But front desk costumer service sucked.

I have been coming here for the past 3 months and it has been great.
But 3 weeks ago i started bringing a guest twice a week when we would workout together, and have had no issues. I noticed plenty of other members bringing MULTIPLE guests every day so I never thought this would be an issue.
Today i tried to bring my guest at 11am for a workout, and the blonde girl at the counter asked to see her keytag. She then stated that she would have to purchase a day pass for $10 if she wanted to workout. We instead left and worked out at planet fitness.
I have never heard them ask to see anyones keytag. Multiple people walked in after us and they did not scan their keytags, so why were we being asked to show a keytag today? This doesn’t make any sense.
If I am being asked to show/scan my keytag, then the workers should be asking EVERYONE to do the same thing. The workers are always on their phones anyway, so I highly doubt this will happen.
Also, $10 for a day pass? This is not lifetime fitness.

The restrooms are gross. Long time employee cursing cause he had to wipe some sweat someone left on one of the locker benches. I asked why they don’t get paper towels and he said we will never get them because “yall” waste them. The hand blow drier is literally covered in feces. You would think they would make sanitary improvements after gaining Family Fitness clientele but nothing has changed. You have to walk halfway across the gym to get a towel to clean your equipment. Evolution needs to up their housekeeping standards.

Don't buy clothes here because they won't allow refunds! The actually told me they cannot process a refund (yet they had no problem taking my money lol). Bought shorts for my daughter. Within an hour of wearing, they had a hole already so why would I want to exchange for more trash? Do better!

There’s a plethora of equipment here for literally everything under the sun! And on top of the place being a 24/7 location, they even have a little merchandise store, along w/ an awesome food bar at the front desk. They also have personal trainers available and a recovery area for Physical Therapy.

Price of membership is very much worth it here.

EDIT AS OF 08OCT2024:

Brought down to 1 star because they are trying to put a fee on me for "breaking my contract" with them early, and even threatened to send that fee to Collections. Why would I continue paying money to a gym that I no longer go to since I moved away? (That's a rhetorical question. I am not paying these people anything. All they can do is pout and sputter.)

If you are late even for 1sec you get a $30 late fee. Which is a joke. For instance, if you have the money but you put a temporary lock on the card, oh no- it got declined. Dont want another late fee again, but even if i call to IMMEDIATELY fix the problem they will tag on that ridiculous late fee.

the night time daycare was a disrespectful, uncaring, not watching the children, rude to a TWO YEAR old, disaster... Im a 5 star giver or nothing but when it comes to my kid thats different and it was actually shocking how she wasnt even trying to be fake and hide her rudeness for me as a newbie... she ignored mychild in front of me repeatedly, never even said hi to us or give her name or anything but say they do time out and they dont change diapers and they dont text us if they need us... nothing good. when i walked out i was nervous so i asked about the child care to another employee and she said there are LOTS of compliants and i seen another good review that says that 3 months ago. so its been over 3 months and yall know they are calling kids curse words and neglecting them and wont even let them color or make a "mess" with the toys and yall arent making any changes???? Child care should be number one on your list of importance.... I am gonna check out the staff in the morning but damn thats crazy yall allow that disrespect

The entire business is a joke, especially the DAYCARE they put my 1 year old and 6 year old in time out the entire 2 hours I was working out. Then the employee Nicole was extremely rude she told my kids they could not have a snack while her and her kids sitting there eating. I had a few words with her and all she did was give me attitude. After I finished working out my oldest daughter which is 9 said she was yelling at the the entire time and was talking about me sayin I had the wrong B * . I asked for her name and told her I would address it with the owner. I left a complaint at the front desk it has been 24hrs and never got a call back. I went in today to try to speak to the owner Brett and he was “in a meeting “ so I spoke to Stephen and he said I can cancel your membership but you still have to pay the last month! And that there is 2 sides to the story and he’s not going to speak to me about the situation. The guy in the front desk mentioned there was several moms who complain all the time about the daycare in the afternoon and they have been having so much issues. This is definitely NOT somewhere you would want to bring your kids too.

Was in a car accident so I moved back to Dayton, Tx 2 years ago. I had someone drive me back to lake Jackson to cancel it and they insisted on only freezing it in 2021. Considering my foot and ankle are both paralyzed, I had shattered hips, broke my back like oh yeah I’m gonna be up and at em in a few months like what??? I started being charged again so I called AGAIN talked to a girl about canceling, she said she’d email me so I can pay the fee etc. yet nothing. I called AGAIN still NOTHING. So I eventually just canceled the card that was being charged and 2023 now I just got the rudest phone call from a collection agency because this gym didn’t do their part THE FIRST TIME.

I specifically remember being talked to when I signed up that if I had proof I moved a long distance away it can be canceled so the refusal to cancel and costing me $200 2 yrs later is pathetic.

Good clean gym, 98% of equipment always working or taken care of. Staff is friendly and helpful and sauna and locker room are usually clean and never smell. Spray bottles and towels throughout gym so you can clean before/after using equipment. They also have a store for gym merchandise, bar with snacks and protein shakes and pre workouts or water and personal coaching as well as Zumba classes and a water message bed.

I personally picked this gym for the benefits of the sauna. Plenty of gym equipment and cardio machine options.

Seriously they advertise women’s section, but it’s absolutely terrible. 1. Guys still go in there 2. If you go in there 3 of there 6 cardio machines are bad! They don’t work, You can’t take one good treadmill in there? One of the good stair steppers? The one stepper in there doesn’t work! It’s ridiculous . While back they said they were going to upgrade.. nothing has changed it’s only gotten worse.

I know what you're thinking: "a 24 hour mall gym couldn't possibly be any good." Well you're wrong. They have free weights that go all the way up, they have deadlift platforms, and plenty of squat racks. They've also got all that cardio stuff if you're into that sort of thing.

Just got my order from this place. Recieved my 12 oz smoothie I paid $9 for. I knew the size and the price. Not the problem . The problem is for that price I would expect the drink to be full. It's not even 3/4 full. Should have went to Smoothie King. Lesson learned.

It's a great gym. Lots of different ways to work out and great smoothie bar. The only suggestion I can say is that all the broken weights need to removed and replaced. The cable machine needs to greased because of inconsistent pull. Besides that great atmosphere when working out and very very friendly staff that are always happy to help. This is one of the better gyms I have been to. The associates are professional and keep the place clean, there are a LOT of machines, a room with a stage, a room for Spin classes, a Crossfit area, and even a ninja playground. The shower rooms are nice, and the counter area is set up with smoothies and health food. Definitely check this place out of you're looking to get in shape.
