The most friendly staff ever! I have a smile on my face every time I enter and I'm greeted. I love that it's only $10 drop in fee and last for 24 hours! WOW! Great place for the community, but there's one thing I have to say... I visit from out of town here because my in-laws live in Lake Jackson. This gym has platforms with wood and horse mats, BUT NO 35lb FEMALE BARBELLS OR BUMPER PLATES. That is backwards and non-inclusive of women and sport, yet you try to make up for it with a secluded "Female Fitness" area...? What about for people who want to perform Olympic Weightlifting movements? If they had 35lb/15kg barbells and bumpers plates then I would go here every time I'm in town but instead I have to drive 45-90 minutes into Houston to lift and train for my sport. So unfortunate because everything else about Family Fitness is great. Trade in a few cardio bikes and get weightlifting equipment. Cardio is out, lifting is in. Take my advice - I have my master's in Sport Physiology, certified strength and conditioning coach, nutritionist, and very high up in my profession. PLEASE GET SOME OLYMPIC BARBELLS AND PLATES!

Clean, child care is great, it is a bit busy but in such a positive and uplifting way not in the up tight or chaotic way. They have a view of the kids in the woman's workout center that I love and easy access to the restroom and their women's center isn't just some small nook in the corner its a full room with plenty of tools and space that you could want or need. Honestly there's only 2 gyms in the lake jackson, clute, freepoort area and this is the more expensive one but once you visit them you will see why it's worth the pay, im a cheap person but one day at the other gym and their TERRIBLE child care I ran to this one so fast and took that membership and haven't been happier. And the kids place has plenty of supervisors I haven't seen less than 2 in there once and normally 3 or 4 and they have a snack area that keeps it clean and even an outdoor enclosed and covered playground for the kids to play. It's honestly great so far. Staff all seem either chill or really up beat none all quiet or judgy so again, all good things.

I’m so glad I chose this gym. They have everything I need. A pool, sauna, hot tub, and lots of machines, free weights, tread mills, climbers and cycling to get my body in shape. None of the others offer so much. Oh and a big plus is the kids club not offered by any others unless you feel like driving to get it. It’s a little pricier but so worth all the bonuses. I love it!

After working here and being a customer here I'd advise you to go somewhere else. They put on a really good face to get you to sign up. They aren't nice people. Great place to get in shape! Top notch Childcare. I love the women's area that is a great option for ladies who want privacy. My only complaint is the childcare hours (weekends in particular) and they close on major holidays when we would like the option to workout.The TVs work occasionally but I'm not there to watch TV so that's not a huge deal to me.

I started working with Kay on the Pilates reformer a couple weeks ago. I wish that I had started this journey a long time ago. This is the workout that I needed. I have already started seeing and feeling results. Working one on one with Kay has been great. I love family fitness. I have been going for about 2 years now. I love that they have a kids club for my young children to go to. Child care is the biggest hurdle sometimes for working out. The woman’s only area is great. When I first started going that’s the area I used exclusively until I felt more comfortable. It’s nice having a pool and the kids take swim lessons there every year. I moved to the area in 2016 and have had a membership there since then. It’s worth every penny! The staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is super clean. Everything you could possibly need to make your fitness journey successful is there, classes, child care (up to 2 hours of me time! Yes please!), various weights, equipment, sauna the women’s studio! It’s a very well rounded fitness center. I stopped going in February last year because of the pandemic and because I became pregnant and my pregnancy is high risk, but I have kept my membership along with my husband and he still goes, I am ready to head back once I’ve recovered. My 3 year old also loved the kids club, it was his time to burn off some energy and make friends. The ladies always keep it clean for our kiddos safety and they are super sweet and truly care about our babies. We miss them, and are looking forward to going back soon.

My husband and I have been going to Family Fitness for about 4.5 years, we have also brought our daughter since she was about 3 months old. Julie, Ashley and Alysia & the rest of the team are all very personable and our daughter loves them and the daycare.
We recently enjoyed the pool this summer, big hit for my daughter.
The facility is always clean, bathrooms are always wiped down, we’ve never had any issues. Appreciate that they have stayed open during the chaos of everything. It Would be great to see a few more newer equipment options added to the area.

I’ve been going to family fitness for 6 years now. I left and tried another gym, but very quickly came back to family fitness. This gym feels like home, they have great staff and a great atmosphere. They have awesome change rooms and the pool is awesome. If there is one thing I could say may need to be addressed is FF really needs to change their hours to stay open later on the weekends, and new gym equipment for guests to use, the equipment they have now is great but a little out dated. Other than those two things I love it there and feel like it is the best gym in the county.

The only reason I give this gym 2 stars is because of the space and quality of the equipment is great, I had an issue today I walked in to hand the gentleman at the desk my guest pass and the owner stopped me and very rudely demanded that I never walked past the front desk without checking in, i understand that she may have thought I was sneaking by but still made me feel very uncomfortable. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere, price is outrageous anyways.

Pilates reformer lessons with Kay has been the best gift I’ve given myself. She has motivated me to live a healthier lifestyle, built my confidence on the reformer, and helped me gain strength that I haven’t felt since I was 18! The reformer has strengthen my core and I haven’t felt back pain since I started. Between two reformer lessons weekly, a little TRX and walking on off days, and easy changes to my diet I have lost 20 lbs in 4 months. We canceled our membership 30 days before and turned in a cancelation paper. I check my bank statement and got charged for the month i canceled. well turns out the lady we gave the paper to (tall with braids) misplaced it and our membership was never canceled. We talked to the manager and she said she could do nothing about it, told her to check the cameras where we filled out the paper she said cameras only went back 3 days, and the lady who took out paper didnt remember us! Love this place! Avoid it during the busiest hours to be able to have access to the free weights and machines. Never took a class, but impressed with the variety and frequency of what they offered. My only suggestion would be for them to add more wipe down stations. I always brought my own towel, but some people don't. Kinda gross to see someone's sweat marks on a bench. With more wipe down stations there would be no excuse to not clean your area when you're done.

I was really looking forward to joining here. Yesterday night i went and asked for information to get a membership and they told me that the membership price was from $22-$50 depending on your occupation. So since my husband works at a refinery our price was $50-$60 a month! I think this is really unfair and ridiculous just because they want to charge more since they know that refinery workers make good money. I walked out of there and never going back. I’ve been to plenty of gyms and they have always charged a fair price to EVERYONE not caring about their occupation.

I joined and wanted to get personal training. Emailed and called several trainers but no one ever calls back. Left messages for the membership desk to call me to find out where are the Florida locations as I am in Florida now. Again now follow up to call me back. It's a wonderful gym. The people that work there are very nice and tell you to have a great workout and the staff at the daycare is AMAZING💖. My kids love going there (boy 5, girl 2) they always say that they are really nice💖. The section for the women is great, small but has alot of things you can do and outside where everyone is at is great too ALOT of machines. Haven't went to the pool but I see people using it. They have ice which is pretty cool went to several gyms and they didn't have that. They also have a sauna is nice too. Now the ONLY thing I can say that I DO NOT like is the way they don't clean there machines. It's disgusting. Yes I wipe down my machine before and after I use it. Where your hands go. BUT the overall machines are dirty. You can tell that they don't clean them. Yes it's open 24hrs most days. But I've went to other gyms where I could be working out and the staff is hard at work making sure everything is clean and weights are put back. Sometimes they did it when there was very little people. On the machines you can tell when people sweat and where they get dusty because it's been so long since they've cleaned them. I just hope they start cleaning them. Then it would be the perfect gym.

Its a Gym without much support staff from what I can see.
- I tried 4 ellipticals and 2 gliders (TVs only worked on 1x elliptical and 1 glider).
- Pins missing in 3 machines I used and had to scavenge a nearby pin. (There's a Lowe's right in town, go by some for pete's sake)
- Plates were scattered all over the place vs realigned by staff at night for next day like a good gym will do
- many people just left plates on the free weights or machines using them. No staff police the area, they were too busy talking with regulars
- whole section of lights were off in the main section of the building (really? its 0500 and dark out and you have min lights on)
- a few friendly people lifting and a few that would hog 4 machines / benches and cycle between them (with open time for others to use them) and get huffy if you wanted to work in)
--- get over it, its everyone's gym so when not using the equipment let others work in especially when so many other pieces were broke or missing items.
-- If you want to get the whole variety of Abs worked, bring your own workout as the machines here are not what is recommended.
- Could not find any stretch bands (used for a variety of exercises).
good news, having been stationed in a combat zone with min equipment, I was able to piece together my workout just like in the past.
not the best solution.
It could really be a nice place if someone owned / managed it that cared.
good thing it was just a visit to see what they had before joining a gym as a newbie in Lake Jackson.

They should probably remove the "Family" from their name and replace it with "Money".
Money is obviously the only thing they care about. When you sign up, they skim through the contract with you, without really giving you an opportunity to go over it by yourself. They also forget to mention that your membership will continue after your contract is up, unless you come in and cancel it.
My problems with the company go beyond the hidden agreements in the contract. I came in to cancel, because I was moving out of the area for work, and an employee told me that my contract was going to be up in a month and the membership would just end in August when it was supposed to, and I wouldn't have to turn in a cancellation form. Well, 4 months and $160 later, I still haven't been able to get out of my membership. They've made it very difficult to get hold of them to show them that I moved out of the area. They asked me to fax it to them, but their fax machine conveniently wasn't working. It has taken me 3 weeks to get a hold of a manager, just for her to tell me the same thing their employees have been telling me. Worst thing about it is, I haven't even been there to work out since March.
You would think that a business with "Family" in their name would work with there clients to make them happy and meet their needs. I will not be referring any friends to work out there. You should definitely explore your other options(i.e. Powerhouse, or the Rec Center) before signing up with Family Fitness.
