Aqua exercise is much kinder to my joints and has really helped with my mobility, flexibility and strength. It's an adult class for all skill levels and more fun than going to the gym!

My children absolutely love coming to FINS every week. The instructors are patient, kind, and understanding. The front desk is always willing to answer my questions and are super welcoming. I spoke with Cara and Autumn both when I was worried my students were behind compared to others. They explained their curriculum and skills in detail and where my students fall. I love the private lessons because they can focus just on my kids.I've gained so much confidence in my kid's abilities as a parent and highly recommend FINS.

I’m writing this review based on my wife’s experience there today.

She had heard positive things about this place and went to register our son, who happens to be autistic. He is high-functioning, already knows how to swim, and simply wanted a safe place for after-school activity—somewhere to strengthen his swimming and support his motor skill development.

Instead of asking about his abilities, my wife was immediately told they don’t accept people with autism because their staff “isn’t capable” of working with them.

While I understand that more severe cases may require specialized facilities, our son is highly capable. Aside from the occasional social awkwardness common in neurodivergence, he just wants to be treated like every other child.

This raises a serious question: does their exclusion also apply to children with ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, sensory processing disorder, or OCD? What about kids with Down syndrome who are also highly functional and more than capable of participating in swim lessons? Or is autism simply singled out?

Whether they realize it or not, this is discrimination. Many families have neurodivergent children, and they deserve opportunities like everyone else. Parents considering this facility should know about this policy before experiencing the same humiliation my wife did today.

My wife reacted like any parent would when defending her child, and while it was never her intention to upset staff, I don’t fault her for advocating for our son—or for all families who face this every single day.

This facility would be better served by investing in staff training and learning more about potential clients before dismissing them. If management chooses to reflect and improve, they have the chance to make this a place where all children feel welcome.

If not, families will make their own decision about whether to support them. For us, we’ll find another place where our son can simply enjoy being a kid in the pool.

This place is not a good place. They are full of lies! They said they can not accept children even level 1 on the ASD. I felt humiliated. I felt bad for my son! They were rude and I am going to sue them! They don’t know my child. My child doesn’t have any type of special support. I wish you to taste a bit of what you did to US today. This is what I wish you to have in your life. When you face the same situation you put me in today, you will remember what you just did, because you are going to feel it in your bones, with your heart - same thing you did to MY family!
And do you really think about the best resource to the children? Oh, ok! BUT since they don’t have special needs. You guys are a JOKE!
The lady was crying because I told the truth without even raising my voice. I am that strong when it comes to my children! It wasn’t my intention to hurt her. But for sure was my intention to defend MY child. And you are not going to be the first who is going to say otherwise. You said you had a “situation” with a few children. Do you have any idea how troubled it is? No, I bet you don’t. We will look for your boss. You have no idea what you just did, but you will learn. Trust me! My son enjoyed classes but the entire place is 95% teenagers and my son attended 15-20 classes and has barely progressed. They certainly treat it like a fun activity and don’t push the kiddos. Also, scheduling make-up classes is nearly impossible. We will be looking for a differently school unfortunately.

My experience with FINs has been fantastic. Having a kid with mild ADHD and behavioral issues was a concern of mine when enrolling. However, talking to front desk about these concerns. They matched me with several instructors who could accommodate for these concerns I had. They have all been wonderful exhibiting patience that I myself lack sometimes!! Even with my makeups instructors, I have never had a bad experience.

We absolutely LOVE Fins of Cypress! My 7 year old used to be super nervous around water, but now she’s swimming with so much confidence! and actually having fun doing it! As a parent of a child with special needs, I want to share our deeply disappointing experience with FINS. When we enrolled our child, we were assured FINS would be patient, flexible and accommodating. Unfortunately this turned out to be false. At the first sign of discomfort during one of his sessions, something not uncommon for children with sensory or developmental challenges, FINS made the decision to remove him from the program entirely. We had accrued 13 make up sessions to this point and were told we could do the make up sessions during the daytime slots. But when we tried to take them up on that offer, that option was suddenly unavailable. No warnings. No make up sessions. No partial refund. No support.

FINS presented itself as inclusive and understanding, but when it truly mattered they turned their back on a child who just needed some extra support. This was not just poor communication - it felt like a complete disregard for a vulnerable student and their family. To any parent considering FINS, especially those with children of special needs, think twice. This experience was not only frustrating. It was deeply hurtful. We expected compassion. Instead what we got was a business decision and this place is purely in it for the money. Our child deserves better.

I know they use chemicals in every pool but at this place there is so much chemical in the water that even after 2 cycles of wash, my kid’s swimsuit still has that strong bleached smell. This business needs to be reported for malpractice.
First of all , I wouldn’t believe the reviews that they got 4 stars on here. Like many complaints the 20 mins classes are never really 20mins. I recorded I got in and out, they started late and ended early everytime so for the price you paid considering 15mins class max and there is time that it’s only 13mins.
Secondly, I enrolled my 2 children January 2025 when I received the email promotion $25/class. I paid the January month in full . And the lady made it very clear that we got that promotion for February as well. I had canceled my other classes to fit this schedule so my kids could learn to swim there. But around the second week of January the lady named Autumn who claimed she was the manager said I must pay full price for February and her reason was I didn’t pay upfront. There was never a word about I had to pay upfront at the first place. And I just found out the reason was because my children ‘s classes were given to someone else and instead of being responsible for that she put the blame on me. And by the way, the rule of the school payment is to be paid by 25th of each month for the next month enrollment so her excuse was very unbelievable. She promised she could go back and listen to the voice conversation and got back to me the following Monday ,she never did and I’m not surprised. The funniest thing is that that February promotion is everywhere and I even got one sent to my email as well. What kind of management is that?
Lastly , be prepared for being push around on their class schedules. I knew it could happen so to be safe I called and confirm classes before driving there and sure enough when I got there they said they didn’t have coaches for us and we had to wait for next class. Unbelievable!

So I had enough I went to the other location and I got no problem enrolling my children with better environment and the same deal without issue.

My son Asad has been going to FINS in Cypress since the start of summer 2024 and what started as a beginner intro to just get the fear of water out of him to learning just basic pool safety has turned into an amazing swimming journey of him not only learning to swim but swim so well and confidently and LOVE swimming all thanks to his amazing Coach Lauren B. She is literally a fish in water and she's turned our son Asad into one as well! Not only has he moved up several levels in record time but he's working on fine tuning his form and technique and he's only 8! Because of Coach Lauren, we not only did the full year membership and come at least once if not twice a week when mini twice a week sessions are on sale...we sign up for any extra classes she has available. If I could give FINS Cypress 6 stars out of 5, I would and if I could give Lauren B. 10 stars out of 5, I would....I highly recommend them to everyone who has kids...I promise you...you and your kiddos will love coming here and look forward to it...and to the management of FINS Cypress...Coach Lauren B. We love FINS!! Coach Dari and Coach Wyatt are the best. I put my kiddos in swim for two different reasons. We are a big water loving family, and my 5 year old daughter was very afraid of the water. On the other hand, I was afraid my 2 year old son would just jump in not knowing water safety. Dari and Wyatt are blessings. We’ve only been coming a little over a month, and my daughter now loves the water thanks to Coach Dari- she even asks to go swim. My son, surprisingly, cried through the first few classes, and Coach Wyatt was so extremely patient. He now walks in without a problem and has already learned so many new skills. Absolutely fantastic experience at FINS Swim School🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The facility is spotless, and the pool is maintained at the perfect temperature. My child felt immediately comfortable and excited to start lessons.

The instructors are truly top-notch. Their expertise is evident in every lesson, and they have an incredible way of connecting with the kids. They balance fun and learning perfectly, making sure each child progresses at their own pace while still being challenged. My child has gone from being hesitant around water to swimming confidently in just a few weeks!

Safety is a top priority here, and I appreciate the individual classes which ensure each child gets individual attention. The staff is also very communicative, always providing updates on progress and tips for practice at home.

Overall, FINS Swim School has exceeded all our expectations. If you're looking for a place where your child can learn to swim in a supportive, safe, and fun environment, this is the place to be! Highly recommended!

I have two littles who couldn't be more different when it comes to swimming, and FINS has worked with both of them beautifully.

My son (almost 4) is fearless and loves the water. He's been attending weekly classes for a couple months and is not only comfortable in the water now, but is swimming well and advancing through the levels at rapid speed. Coach Liam works with him on being responsible in the water (again, fearless kid), while teaching him swimming and survival skills.

My daughter (almost 7), on the other hand, is older and much more timid in the water. She's in the two week summer intensive program where she attends every day and her comfort level in the water has skyrocketed. She's eager to come see Coach Anna every day and wants to practice all her new skills regularly.

The 1:1 format is perfect for this age group and I'm so grateful we selected FINS as our swim school of choice.

We’ve been going here for a few months and our boys really love it (especially the coaches)! My 4 yo is a pretty strong swimmer, but he has been improving his back float and overall swimming technique. My 2 yo is still learning to swim, but he’s been making big improvements already (especially with proper kicking and holding onto the wall). Coach Haley and Coach Wyatt are really fantastic and we highly recommend them!

I am shocked by how well they handled my son, who has bad separation anxiety. They were able to calm him down and even got him to put his face in the water!! At the end of the lesson he was smiling and forgot how scared he was to not be with me. Super impressed.

If you are looking for special needs classes,!please note that they have only 1-2 instructors who will be teaching. Although She is good but it is very tough to find the spot and hard to get any make up classes if you miss any !

UPDATE: We have to give a shout out to Coach Jaysa! My boys are loving her teaching and they are moving up levels with confidence and a bunch of smiles! She’s a patient, loving and happy coach to see every week!

My two boys go here and they couldn’t love it more! We’ve had several coaches throughout our private lessons here each week and they have grown leaps and bounds with their swimming skills, but more importantly, their comfort level with being in the water is amazing. We’ve been taken such good care of and appreciate the kindness and compassion shown to our family. My kids are excited to go here each week and devastated if we ever have to miss a class. I urge anyone who needs to get themselves or their kids in swim lessons to give FINS a try!
