In process of moving out of Celina and requested by phone to cancel mine as well as my son’s membership. The only way you can cancel is to write them…….not by email but by letter…..or to show up in person which is impossible at the moment. Thanks from a loyal member for over 10 years for being so accommodating. “It’s in the contract”. Lady I signed it 13 years ago. Smh.

Requested to pause my membership after my Pregnant wife and I were in a fairly serious car accident and going through rehab for a few months. The manager denied my request saying the owner does not allow pauses on the membership for any reason. She gave me two options: (A) cancel the membership and pay the initiation fee again in a few months, or (B) continue paying my monthly membership fee - despite the fact my Pregnant wife and I could not use the gym for several months while rehabbing.

A week later they still charged me my monthly payment and annual membership fee (didn't know this existed). Called them back thinking it was a mistake and they explained they have a 30 day cancellation policy and if I reported to my credit card company they would send it to collections.

Absolutely insane management style exhibited by this place. The owners do not deserve your money. Owner fails to understand this policy pushes people away from his gym. They tout they are a local family owned gym but the owner lives in Austin. Owner bullies and calls everyone with genuine complaints in these reviews “liars”. He’s responded to my review with totally fabricated stories and even doxxed me.

Other gym staff was friendly. Gym equipment is very old and subpar and it was always packed but that’s what you get from a cheap gym. Can't wait for better gyms to open in this area.

We absolutely love Fitness 1 in Celina! The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. They greet you at the door with a smile! 😊
It’s easy to get in and out with your key card 24/7 and the gym is so clean and kept in great condition! The awesome staff there is always cleaning! 🤗
They have a huge variety of weight machines, free weights, lots of treadmills, eclipses, and bikes. It’s never a problem to get in and get a good workout.

Worse than planet fitness when it comes to try and cancel. I tried to go in 2 times to cancel my membership, one on a Tuesday morning, and one on a Saturday afternoon, neither time anyone was around to help. We ended up moving 2 hours away, tried to call and cancel they told me it has to be done in person. My fiancé (who signed up for BOTH of us) went to cancel and they told him he could only cancel his, I would have to go in person. I called and found out I could send a letter. I sent a letter canceling my membership. 2 weeks later they charge me $58 one charge for my membership (that i tried multiple times to cancel) and apparently a service fee. At this point, I guess I will just make the 2 hour drive to cancel and hope someone is actually there. Overall working out there wasn’t a bad experience, but canceling has been a nightmare.

I’ve been a member of this gym for several years, I can attest that it stands out as one of the finest in the area. Its 24/7 availability, approachable and friendly staff, exceptionally well maintained gym, and both the staff and fellow members foster a welcoming environment. Moreover, the gym offers an extensive range of machines and equipment to meet every fitness need. After exploring numerous gyms in the vicinity, I can confidently say that the atmosphere fostered by Fitness1 surpass those of typical commercial establishments.

Air Conditioning is down for more than a month and still no updates on when it will be fixed.

Well if 4 of your AC units are working out of 5 then why does it always feels like hot and humid. It shouldn’t impact much by just one faulty unit. Yes I saw that there is one commercial fan in the free weights area and one cooler for the staff in the whole gym.

We like this gym. It is clean and is open 24hrs, which is great for busy parents like us to squeeze in the extra workout sessions late at night or early morning before the kids wake up.
If you live near by, give this place a try.
They have kids’ toys and childcare service between 9am-1pm during the week.

This is a great gym! Their kids area and staff are amazing. I truly feel good dropping my kid off with them knowing he will be well taken care of. (And I’m super picky and protective)

The gym is kept clean and organized. The bathrooms are nice. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend to anyone in the area, especially parents looking for a gym with kids staff they can trust!

Very disappointed in a “local” owned gym. I got a membership there the month they opened in 2020 and was told it would be a lifetime membership price of $15/month. I used it quite a bit and even times I didn’t, I felt $15 wasn’t too bad to have the availability to use when I wanted. Now with no notice, my price went up and I’m charged some odd annual charge that wasn’t there in the beginning. I go into cancel and hand over my entry tag and they STILL find a way to charge me money. I’m done with gym membership games!

Coming from a chiropractor, I was impressed with this gym. It has all the essential equipment that anyone would need to get in a good workout all while being a small Celina gym. I appreciated the easy check-in process and helpful information that I received. This is the gym that I’ll be using moving forward.

The gyms not bad, kinda small but it gets the job done, only complaint would be getting banned for letting in my buddy for one night to show him the place and workout. Although when another friend of mine does the same thing, he gets a call/WARNING saying to please not continue letting people in without a card. I completely understand the consequences I was given and why I was banned, but would have preferred to be warned, if that’s what happened to my friend that did the same thing. All in all the gyms decent, staff can be nice sometimes, and the equipment seems to look like it’s cleaned maybe once every 1 or 2 months.

I would never ever recommend a single person to sign up at this gym, apparently when you go to cancel that if you don’t give the 30 days notice that they charge you the full next month which is supposed to be $32.22. And on top of that somehow want to charge me for the “annual fee” of $42.22 yet when my boyfriend cancelled with me they only charged him for the next month and not the annual fee. Absolutely horrible and very disheartening for such a small gym. If they could have 0 stars then I would have given it.

It's a small gym, which I appreciate. I can usually get on the machine I need immediately and get throught a workout in an hr. My family comes and we have had a pretty positive experience here. If I had one critique it would be that the TV's are often on the news. Not appropriate. Other than that, 👍🏽.

New management is not flexible and only increased prices. Nothing new. Machines have been broken for 6 months, place is run by high school kids who don't actually do their jobs, not following any covid guidelines/gov orders. overcrowded at night w/ high schoolers

They threatened to report to the credit bureau if I didn’t pay them when I never joined. They gave out free join for one week and they charged you afterwards, don’t even ask. They just want money, don’t even care about anything else... I’m trying to get my money back because I never even use any of the equipment... so, wish me luck... I pray that they won’t do this to others, GOD forgive them for them to cheat people this way....

I worked out here for a week while visiting my family in the area. The staff was helpful, the gym floor and locker room were clean. They have pretty much any equipment you would need, and it is all in working condition.
I can't speak for their tanning beds since I didn't use them, but it's cool that they have them.

While the day to day staff of this gym are friendly, the general manager is not really interested in long-term relationships it has with the members. When bringing issues to her attention (in my case a stolen credit card compounded by health issues causing billing problems), she is not willing to work with members to resolve them. Very poor customer service and a very short view of customers as just a source of monthly transactions instead of long term relationships. Instead of cancelling the membership without any fees in order to preserve a customer who could come back after injury, she chose to collect $60. A loss of a customer and future referrals.
