I wish I had signed up with a burner phone. I get calls ever single week and have asked to be removed from their list since I don't live within 500 miles of a Freedom Fitness and each person apologizes and says they will get me removed from their call list and then I receive a call the very next week asking if I'd like to sign up. I just keep blocking their numbers but it hasnt solved the issue yet They're worse than the Mormons.

The gym was fine. Tons of cool machines you don't find in most gyms. It seemed like they didn't like to run the A/C or something. Always extremely hot and muggy in there.

If you try to workout after work during the school year, just know that when school gets out each day, the gym fills up and it is pretty hard to find and open squat rack and benches.

I’ve been going to the Calallen, TX location for a few weeks now. The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything from free weights and machines to cardio and functional fitness areas.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help without being pushy.

Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a quality place to work out and stay healthy!

What the point of having a customer service email if they never email back? Owners are never there or show up or answer questions when management doesn’t even know the answers either.

They don’t care about the customers. Imagine being able to only reach them via email and they sont respond.

Front desk staff are terrible. They should take notes from your childcare staff because they are absolutely amazing. Sad to have cancelled a membership after two years because the kids behind the counter feel the need to stop and interrogate me when im just trying to scan my tag, drop my kids off, and go workout.

Every time I drop off my little one, I feel 100% confident knowing they are safe, but genuinely happy to be there. I’ve been a member at this gym for about a year now. I came in as a gym newbie and have grown so much! I can’t say enough great things about the staff and the overall experience! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the amazing front desk crew — Rudy, Angie, and Amanda who are always so welcoming, friendly, and helpful, even at 6AM! They set a positive tone for every morning.

The personal trainers here are top-notch. 🏆 Debra, Brandon, and CJ are incredibly knowledgeable, motivating, and truly committed to helping members reach their fitness goals. They take the time to listen to your goals and personalize workouts. They push you just the right amount to not make you hate your life decisions, too much.

Debra’s turf classes are killer. Highly recommend 💯 The 8AM classes have been a favorite for the last several months. So challenging and always upbeat! They’ve boosted my confidence enough to move onto the main workout floor and try some workouts on my own, which I would have previously NEVER done before without feeling so out of place!

A huge shoutout also to the childcare workers, Sasha and Jennifer. It’s such a relief to know that while I’m working out, my kids are being cared for by such kind and attentive staff. My kids have more fun at the gym than I do (and sometimes don’t even want to leave) which is when I take 10min to relax on the hydromassage bed. I get a workout and a mini break? 10/10.

When I first signed up I had mentioned that we move often due to work and was told it wouldn’t be a problem to cancel my membership.. I used this gym for about six months. I double checked about a month ago as well on the cancellation and was told the same thing, no problem. Today I go to cancel my membership with written notice as we are getting ready to move and was hit with a $49 charge that was never mentioned before nor does it say this under the Q&A section on the website.. actually I was told that I’m still under contract until October and I’d have to “buy my way out.” It wouldn’t be a big deal but $36 for the month was drafted last week, so in total that’s $85 which is ridiculous. I love how only half information is given when I had checked multiple times. I also had “The freedom membership” and when I signed up the guy was not interested in helping me… I was never able to get anyone to give me any info to get with a trainer either. The day I signed up I never received a tour or any info really, was a weird experience overall. I do not recommend this gym, the customer service could really use some improvements.

I only come here for the women's area. The stairs master has been broken for the past 2 years in there so there is one more left. I tried the stairs masters in the open area in the front and they all felt wobbly and weak and when u press the pause button the speed goes faster for a couple seconds before it stops and that is very dangerous someone can get hurt they are pausing for a reason not trying to go faster. I was told maintenance comes once a month and can't get to every machine that breaks. That is ridiculous most machines are broken and not functioning correctly. The girls rr scale has been broken forever. Also the women's area smells like sewer for some reason. People in the front are nice everything is ok except the machines always down.hate leaving reviews like this but I think the gym should be taken care of properly

I just left this facility. I asked for a one-time pass to see if I would like this gym. I was told it would cost me $10 for the day, or I could join and pay $2.83 and not have a regular payment until March. This is definitely not what is being advertised. Thumbs down!! I go in here to workout for the day as I am in town on business and I get pressured several times to sign up for a membership even after expressing I just want a day pass. Freedom fitness has always let me get a day pass and use it twice in 24 hrs, I was told at this location that is not the case and that I need to sign up for membership and then cancel, instead of just simply getting a pass and working out they want all your info and I'm just not ok with that. I won't be back at this location.

It angered me to hear this!! A friend has been battling breast cancer for 6 months. She has not been to the gym in months, so she decided to go cancel her membership.

When she informed freedom fitness, they told her that she had to provide proof that she actually had cancer to cancel. To top it off, when she convinced them that she was being truthful they agreed to cancel but told her that they would have to charge through the end of the month!!

This gym has been a godsend! The childcare area is amazing, my kids love it, and I think I underestimated how much I would love the women’s only area. Having an area with plenty of cardio machines, circuit machines at weights I would lift already adjusted to someone of my body proportions make my workouts go so much faster. Coming back to the gym postpartum I don’t feel self conscious because it feels like a safe space and HGTV is already on at least the big TVs- no fighting for the remote, feeding other humans or folding laundry. 100/10 recommend

This gym gets the job done. It has everything you expect. I remember being a teenager going to the freedom fitness where "the shops" are at by the mall. Its incredible to see the growth of these gyms. Honestly they deserve it. Freedom fitness is one of the original gyms here in corpus. I love the additions they made since then. especially the artificial turf area.

All in all this is a great gym to see results for a lifetime. Its a great place to start and you can get by with what's available. Its a solid gym with great amenities.

I’m a stay at home mom and not been apart of a gym in over 5 years. This gym has exceeded my cleanliness expectations. Also the staff is excellent. I’m using the kid care center for the first time and the girls in there are great with my kids and new craft every time I bring them. I am using a trainer, which has been a great experience, I highly recommend Lindie. Great gym to join.

I tried to cancel my membership & said I had to wait till July. I stated cancel in July & left. Didn’t cancel & giving me hard time about canceling without paying a late fee. Even emailed corporate office & no help. It’s documented I went in to cancel but stating I didn’t follow correct steps.

I must say, Not Very Happy with Freedom Fitness in Calallen..... they are not very upfront with their fees..... not only is there an enrollment fee, then there's the monthly fee that Ops they forgot to tell you that if you pay with a credit card there's a 3rd party fee, oh and then they forget to tell you that there is an annual fee..... and when you finally see the charges on your credit card statement and you ask them about the fees, they tell you all about the multiple charges and when you tell them to go ahead and cancel your membership for the lack of transparency they're like Ok....

Makes you feel like, Hey we have your money, we don't care if you cancel or not....

Worst gym I've ever been to. Equipment lay out is terrible. Packed beyond belief. Nobody cleans their equipment off. I lasted about 20 minutes before I couldn't take it anymore and I left. Good luck finding an open machine or bench, people camp out on them with their giant gym bags.

I have opened up a case on the BBB .

I visited freedom fitness on south padre island drive in the 78410 area in Corpus Christi (callalen) this Tuesday, November 9th 2021. I went up to the front desk to speak with Roxy Spencer about a personal emergency, I politely asked if I can speak with her for 5 minutes and a co worker got in between and mentioned that she would get me banned or call the police if I didn’t the building. I find this very offensive behavior as I have never been treated like this and I have been a member for 8 years and going to the gym is my passion. I am heavily invested in freedom fitness as I go almost daily. And for me to be banned for doing this I don’t think is fair 1 bit. you can pull up the camera footage I never once spoke to them in a disrespectful way. I would
like to request my ban to be lifted this is unfair. Please call me if you have any questions.. if I’m in the wrong in any way I would like to know but I’m confused because I did nothing wrong.. I would leave a 0 star review if I could but 1 star is the lowest

Cramped amateur gym. Somehow WORSE than planet fitness. If you like rows and rows of useless cardio equipment, only train upper body, and neglect your legs to whither away like a genie’s body this is the gym for you. Complete waste of my time.

The gym itself is wonderful, although frequently packed and not much space to move around. However, I have received several unprofessional and unwarranted comments about my children that I'm beyond tired of hearing from one staff member in particular, therefore I will not be doing the three minute drive to this location but instead driving 20 minutes to the next nearest location.

I come to the gym to workout not to watch TV news channels. Gym is clean, staff is nice and helpful, and they have plenty of equipment. Five stars deserved because they serve the purpose of being a gym not because of politics. If you're that hard up about it you can always purchase essential lifting equipment for ~$300 and if you're only focused on doing cardio the whole city is your treadmill.

The only news station on is Fox News and they stopped requiring masks as soon as our terrible governor lifted the mandate. That tells you about all you need to know. I wish we had more gym options on this side of town.
