Pilates studioAbout the Club
We are an appointment-only boutique-style classical Pilates studio, offering private sessions as well as small group classes for locals. We also offer duets and trios for those locals wanting Pilates with a friend or two! We are fully classical, with an emphasis on even work on all apparatuses, including mat, reformer, tower, chair, ladder barrel, and more!
You won't find a big studio crammed to the gills with reformers and packed classes where you don't get personal attention. We believe it is important that every student is knowledgeable on all aspects of Pilates, as was intended by Joseph Pilates, so we keep capacity limited to 3 students, and we don't cater to the "reformer only" crowd.
We occasionally offer specialized Workshops!

I have been taking private and group classes for nearly three years now, and my experience has been incredible!
Heather has an exuberant knowledge of pilates, muscle systems, and is always refining her craft. She makes the environment fun to be in, comfortable, and I always look forward to class. She is great to work with in private lessons, and the group classes create such a beautiful community.
Throughout my time here, I have seen such great developments in my posture, body awareness, and overall I am so much stronger. This is beyond pilates, and the movement here truly is magical!

Heather has an amazing studio and is a great instructor. Her classes can be trios, duets or private. She is patient and works with all levels, I had taken a year off during Covid after 10+ years of pilates practice. She has gotten me back to good form and feeling amazing. Her studio has up to date equipment and she pays close attention to your needs, something you would not get in big studios. If you love a positive, renewing classes or challenges her studio have it all. Plus it's in a beautiful historical building that is clean and sanitary on the inside and beautiful flowers and gardens outside. No problems parking or finding it, on a major neighborhood street in Galveston, taking only 15 min anywhere on the island to get to.

So glad I found Heather through another group. I have a couple of injuries that as I aged started causing more and more problems. Heather understood the problems and is helping work through them. She challenges me and takes me out of my comfort zone, but makes sure I don't hurt myself. I can see such a difference in how I fell and am able to move. I have a long way to go, but I'm looking forward to the journey.

I attended a beginner mat class at Galveston Pilates & Wellness and I am beyond impressed. I took Pilates in Austin for a few years with a private instructor and I never felt better in my life. I was recovering from a serious back injury at the time so running, or even walking was out of the question. Then I discovered Pilates. Total game changer. New breaks and 8 surgeries later I have been at the end of my rope trying to get strong again. I took the beginner mat class from Heather that she offers on Tuesdays. Though I am scary out of shape, she made me feel supported. One of the reasons I hadn’t gone to a gym was my fear of being judged and just plain embarrassed for not being able to keep up. I felt like I was walking on a cloud when I left her studio, I was expecting to not be able to walk today but nope, I was happily a tad bit sore but overall I feel great today. I am looking forward to doing some private lessons on the reformer. From what I remember before, It was hard work but the results were fast. Im going to try the private or duet sessions It's
expensive but worth every single penny. Heathers studio is beautiful and I am really glad we have this option in Galveston

Heather was my introduction to Pilates. My goal when starting classes with her was to increase my fitness and strength. After a little over a year of her instruction, my body felt much better and my strength was noticeably improved. Heather was a good fit for my needs because she had a small studio and was able to individualize her instruction. She starts where your body is and works with what you can do. She explains the mechanics of each movement to help you increase your ability to perform them, and begins to challenge you as your competence grows. If she was still in Austin, I would still be attending her classes!

Heather was my Pilate instructor for a little over 3 years in Austin. My doctor and physical therapist had recommended I do Pilates to alleviate my lower back pain and knee pain caused by my lack of core strength. I was fortunate to find Heather in my neighborhood and couldn’t be happier. She not only alleviated my pain but my core is stronger than it has ever been. She is patient, encouraging, motivating and the best stretcher around! It didn’t matter how I felt when I arrived, I always felt better when I left! I can promise you one thing, you will not be disappointed!

Heather is a truly gifted instructor. She has helped me through a range of body issues, always focusing on my individual needs during each session. I appreciate how she tweaks my form and lets me know what I should be feeling and where so that I can achieve better results. No matter how I'm feeling when I arrive, I feel soooo much better after my sessions. Thanks, Heather!!!

Heather Craig was my Pilates instructor for three years in Austin. She has helped me understand my body and challenged me to grow stronger. She works well with people experiencing pain (back pain in my case) and has a gift for providing effective (and sometimes humorous) imagery to help a client understand how to perform a movement. She has infinite patience, is encouraging, and is continuously learning herself in order to try new methods with her clients. Whether you are new to Pilates or just looking for an innovative, personal studio to continue your practice, I know you will not be disappointed.
