Eastlake location:
I was in the Men's bathroom on Monday when two women walked all the way into the men's bathroom stalls. It seems that they were part of the management team. It made me feel very uncomfortable that these two women could just walk into the mens locker room and roam around. This is where men go to change and use the bathroom and we expect privacy just like women do. Would Golds Gym be ok if I walked into the women's locker room to roam around?? NO! My gym membership would be terminated on the spot! This is unacceptable and very unprofessional on the part of Golds Gym management.

So far my experience has been great , The facility is alway clean and the equipment is top of the line . The personal at this location is great. You could have not chosen beter caring customer service oriented personal. They truly care. I wanted to recognize Cynthia and Summer and the rest of the crew whome i still have not learned their name. Cynthia is always greeting everyone with a smile and is always ready to help with any questions we have. Best customer service by far. Definitely catered more to the younger generation. Nothing but 20 year olds everywhere. I’m huge on using the sauna. This place has both male n female saunas out in the open for people to see you. Whether you’re in your underwear or shirt off, literally everyone can see you. Found that really weird. Youngster next to me took his shirt off while working out on the weights. What happened to no shoes no shirt no service?

I love my home gym, the staff are amazing as well. My only issue is other members constantly not cleaning their machines after themselves. The location has very small signs throughout the facility reminding members to clean after using machines but I believe that they are too small. I did notice alot of wall space available and my suggestion is to please put these signs way bigger throughout the facility reminding members to clean machines after using

Terrible service, do not go here. We are long time golds gym members and were from out of town and they refused our business. We own a house here locally and spent a few times a year here. We wanted to try it out and see if it was worth our business. Wrong! Lost our business permanently. Go to Planet Fitness they treat you with respect and welcome you no matter what city you are in from. Please train your people right!

The gym itself is good. Employees are nice, place is kept very clean. They also added more machines recently glad to see they're expanding I hope they add more to reduce wait times during busy hours. I can't leave more than a 3 star though. I've been here for over a year and probably around 2-3 months out of that time has their Wi-Fi worked. They say other businesses in the area have the same issue but I shop around there very often and no place has had Wi-Fi issues. I usually wouldn't mind but the area itself already has horrible service and not having Wi-Fi makes it impossible to load any music or any basic content you would usually use your phone for.

Gold’s Gym has a solid setup, great equipment, clean facilities, and even a nice sauna to unwind after a workout. It’s a good place to train, whether you’re lifting weights or getting in some cardio. However, the WiFi situation is terrible. There’s little to no cell service inside, and the guest WiFi has been broken for over a month. That means no music, no watching videos while on the treadmill, and worst of all—what if there’s an emergency and you can’t receive a call? In today’s world, that’s a huge issue. They really need to fix the WiFi ASAP. A gym this well-equipped shouldn’t be dropping the ball on something so basic.

I hate to leave a negative review of Gold’s Gym (Eastlake location) considering I have been a member since way back when the very first opened up here in El Paso back in 1985 but I have been so frustrated lately with this gym and no one seems to listen to our concerns and complaints as front dest and staff there just seem to pass the ball to one another and back with no solutions. I can’t figure out what the high maintenance fee is for or where it goes since bikes in the cycling room are in need of serious maintenance for sometime now yet aren’t being maintained. I/we (fellow consistent cycling members and instructor) have complained and even informed “Andrea” and nothing is done. Handle bars/ resistance nobs need adjusting and hopefully it won’t be until someone gets hurt that they actually do something about it. I have even brought it up to the older gray haired man the presumably is the maintenance man, walked over with him to the Cycling room and showed him the bikes that needed maintenance and by now there are more as we noticed today as some of us finished class and were conversing among us about this issue and very frustrated. Our contract is up in August and unfortunately are just waiting for it to be up to leave. It seems that this gym is now more interested in just getting people to join then after that they don’t care as that what a lot of us have experienced for a while now. This Eastlake Location is the newest location and seems like its so old now as staff just don’t care about members concerns. The only one person there that is always doing her job and doing it very well, great personality, super nice is the little cleaning lady. Love her! Everyone else just seems to be there to gain a paycheck and KIDS at the front desk never seem to know anything and that’s exactly what they say so don’t really now what their purpose is there. Everyone there can take lessons from the cleaning lady. She should be in the front desk because she pays more attention to members needs and concerns although unfortunately she cant do much about it.
I was trying to get ahold of corporate just now but realized they are closed so I’ll have to do it on Monday. I refuse to continue to have these unresolved issues all the way till August!
And “Andrea” is never around hardly only when there are some sort of promotions in or around the area for Gold’s Gym.

If you have other options, go to another gym. This one always has at least one piece of equipment broken, it takes them like 2-3 months to fix it. The wifi is trash, can never connect to it. It's not my phone, can connect perfectly to every other wifi I try. They don't enforce their own rules, like gym bags on the floor, not re-racking weights, etc. The front desk staff are inattentive. Half the cleaning stations are empty. The best thing about this location is that the janitorial staff keep it clean; the lady that's there during the middle of the day is a gem.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this location and love coming here. I paid MTM as a visitor in town, and it was very affordable! Not only are the staff amazing, there’s every machine you could think of or need. (just like every other gym it’s gonna get busy during peak hours, duh) but I’ve never had to skip an exercise or wait long because there’s no open spots or equipment. And theres a sauna in the locker room! Very clean, aesthetically pleasing, and open until 11PM on weeknights. My only con is that they close real early on weekends—7PM.🤷‍♀️ This is the best gym in the area by far

Some of the strengths 💪🏼 are: Plenty of Free Weights, Good Organized layout, High Quality Machines, Hot Dry Sauna, Gym is not as packed, and a Super Friendly Helpful front staff.

Cons 😔: Gym uses ABC Fitness solutions for payments. They will Charge you extra members, yearly fees 4-5 times a year (only 1 charge per contract), and if you don't pay there is nothing you can do about it. ****WARNING GO WITH OTHER GYM************

I was interested in getting a membership at the Gold’s Gym on Eastlake that’s near my house, so I went online and got my day pass. I know Gold’s is a little pricey but I’m willing to pay for convenience since my job is 1 minute away and my house is 4 minutes away from the gym. I walked in and told the lady at the front desk that I was there to redeem my day pass. She started asking me if I lived in El Paso or if I was visiting which was confusing to me. She asked me if I had ever been to a Gold’s gym before and I told her yes at another location. She told me that since I had been to another location before I couldn’t workout at this location unless I was interested in signing a contract. Why offer day passes online if you’re going to deny entry when we get there? I had every intention of getting a membership but I obviously wanted to see if I liked the gym before signing a contract. Horrible customer service… taking my business elsewhere.

I have been here since they opened in January of 2024. Place is clean, organized, with lots of machines to use. However, since the beginning they have had severe issues with WiFi. It’s been over 5 weeks now and it is still down. But the other businesses in the immediate area are working fine. Management should be all over this with whoever the ISP is. That’s my only gripe.

This gym is completely unreliable for anyone with a busy schedule, they regularly open late. It's frustrating to arrive on time only to find the doors locked and staff with no explanation for the delays. If you value consistency and punctuality, avoid this gym at all costs. This gym is overall dirty. There is noticeable dirt, sweat stains, debris on the floor, indicating inadequate cleaning practices. The staff sits around and is not very welcoming. I have gone to Golds on Wedgwood and even though it’s an older gym it’s well kept (SUPER CLEAN) and organized. Cindy is the only staff member that cleans and Austin when he was there. It’s a brand new gym shouldn’t be this filthy.

El dia lunes 09/30, la senorita Cynthia que estaba en el mostrador nos comento a mi y a mi amiga que nuestra membresia estaba expirada, que desde el dia 09/17 estaba vencida. Durante esos dias nunca nadie nos menciono nada o nos detuvo para decirnos. Cabe mencionar que casi nunca hay personal en la entrada, siempre hay un letrero que dice "check in yourself", lo cual no me parece bien porque si quieres comprar alguna bebida o agua tienes que esperar. El personal del del gimnasio, especificamente los jovenes nisiquiera te saludan o atienden de manera agradable, siempre estan platicando entre ellos o en su celular. Tambien, considero que la mayoria de las maquinas estan siempre llenas de polvo, usualmente esta bastante sucio y es evidente que no ponen atencion a los pequenos detalles. El bano de mujeres siempre esta bastante sucio, algunos tapados o descompuestos. En los lockers es muy comun que encuentres basura. Tambien, creo que es necesario que inviertan en otras maquinas, solo hay una leg extension y es realmente un reto poder usarla, hay otras maquinas que realmente nadie usa.
Quisiera que felicitaran a la senorita Cynthia, ya que nos convecio a mi y a mi amiga de renovar el contrato, nos explico detalladamente y nos atendio muy amablemente. Si decidimos renovar fue porque ella nos prometio que abria cambios, y espero asi sea

Para ser nuevo el gimnasio, las instalaciones no se ven limpias. Es bien sabido que las máquinas se limpian al terminar pero se ven con polvo. Siempre hay un sanitario y la banca del sauna fuera de servicio. Tiene una buena ubicación pero no hay señal para el teléfono y el wifi falla. Stars are for ambience, and some nice equipments. But this place is a fitness center than a gym. A lot people without gym ethics, hogging machine while on phone, or talking loud. Make sure to bring a headphone that has ANC. One of the best things about this "gym" is they have more bench presses, so you don't have to wait on line like on Tierra Este. But you'll always find a lady who puts her personal items on bench while doing dumbell curl or lunges. I sometimes need to look around for a little to find a lifter to help with heavy bench presses. Good luck with that. I wish there was a real gym around Eastlake.
* Additionally if you want to train your traps you need to improvise, there's no dedicated machine for doing shrugs, smith machine is either always busy or under maintenance. Heaviest kettlebell is 70 lbs.
* You won't be able to do seated overhead triceps dumbell extension or dumbbell shoulder press, because there is no upright bench.

I've been a member of Gold's Gym for a while now, Eastlake 79928 and while there are some positives, there are also a few areas that need serious improvement.

Firstly, the gym seems to lack certain machines that are hardly ever used, while there is only one leg extension machine that everyone has to share. It’s almost like a game of musical chairs trying to get your turn, which can be frustrating during any hours.

Another issue is the weightlifting bars—they have way too much spin. This makes it difficult to go heavy on chest exercises, and it puts unnecessary strain on your wrists, which could lead to injuries. It would be great if they added weightlifting bars that don't have as much spin, especially for bench presses.

Additionally, the free weight area is very cramped. It’s so tight that you often find yourself almost shoulder-to-shoulder with others, whether male or female, and the incline machines are positioned directly behind you. This lack of space makes it uncomfortable to work out, especially when the gym is crowded.

The machines overall are good, but it’s clear that the gym didn’t do their homework on analyzing which machines are in highest demand. If they had done better analytics on machine usage, they could redistribute or add more of the equipment that members actually use the most.

Gold's Gym has the potential to be great, but they need to address these issues to provide a better experience for their members.

Where is the guy who worked there was very nice and he was always keeping the gym with paper towels was available for questions or anything the customers required now there’s a dark guy who doesn’t do anything bathrooms are dirty. Pretty cool gym overall and for sure better than many others here in El Paso . All Classes are great all the instructors are so friendly and good. I give it a 4 star just because some equipment doesn’t work. Some Treadmills and some of the bikes in the cycling room need maintenance, not to mention some of the machines are not level and move so much while you are working out. Overall I give this gym a 10/10. Awesome selection of cardio machines(love the slat belt treadmills). They have a wide variety of free weights, lifting platforms, and machines. There's no room for a person to put down a mat and do your excercise always people constantly occupying 2 to 3 stations at a time. Rude people taking on there phones in machine area even taking calls in the sauna. Literally had to put volume all the up on headphones and I can still hear the person on his call. The equipment is placed in different parts of the gym so if you want to bench press then use peck deck you gotta go all the way across the gym. I didn't mind it but if you don't organize your routine you can find yourself waisting time walking back and forth. Bathrooms are always dirty and equipment is already feeling faulty and broken. Not sure if I want to stay a member. And they just opened.

It's fine. It's in an area with dodgy internet so your playlist sometimes cuts out if you're using data. There are no shelves or hooks in the shower cubicles to put your towel on or to keep stuff from getting wet. There is a great mirror on the wall in the ladies room that is lit all the way around, but if you're using it to put your moisturizer or cosmetics on, there is no table or shelf nearby, or beneath the mirror so it's not convenient to use. The gym has all the usual gym equipment and it's good and spacious and well laid out. But esthetically it's average. You get what you pay for.

I'd give this spot 6 stars if possible. After holding multiple memberships at other much lager and more private facilities I can honestly say that the floor was well thought out. I can come here at peak hours and work out uninterrupted and without worry that the equipment I need will not be available. There are much larger facilities with exponentially more equipment where out of 20 smith machines not a single on is available for hours. Definitely a higher quality clientele as well which only adds to the positive experience. I'll never go back to another big box or hole in the wall gym. I am Home!

My family and I waited for the gym to open for a while. When it finally opened I got a membership for me and my wife. On my first week I went with my son who wanted to try it out and he got a pass. While he was working out the manager told him that he could not have any back packs on the floor and that if she had to tell him again, she was going to kick him out. The bad part was that he did not have a back pack himself, it was someone else backpack. We also noticed that other members had back pack on the floor, but we decided not to make a big deal about it. My son then left out of town and returned this week. I then got a membership for him and my daughter since we usually try to workout together (also my brother and his family got a membership there). Since my family had been working out at Gold's Gym we've gone at different times and to all the El Paso Locations and on todays date while my wife, daughter and son were at the Eastlake Location, the same manager told him he could not have a water gallon on the floor because he might drop the water. I personally don't carry water bottles or any type of containers, but I have seen several members with the water bottles or water containers. At this point it just seems as if that specific manager has something against my son. If that is the case would you please let me know and we would cancel our membership to try another gym. We really like the gyms and and our overall experience had been goo. We don have any other issues and for the most part all the other employees are respectful and helpful. But if we are not going to feel comfortable knowing that when that manger is there keeping an eyed on us just waiting to see if we do something she doesn't like then let us know and we will stop going there. Thank you.

Sadly the roll out for this new gym did not go well for me. I waited and waited for it to open since it is only 10 minutes from my home ( I was previously at Tierra Este). Shortly after it opened, I was informed that they are no longer accepting insurance plans. I have been a Gold’s Gym member for many years and I never received any notice of this change.
So; I checked out Planet Fitness and they do accept insurance plans. I will be paying much less than Gold’s. Their Black Card is only $10 per month compared to $30 per month at Gold’s. I have found that Planet Fitness has so many more machines than Gold’s and better ventilated. The cardio area at Gold’s was hot.
I am writing all this not out of vengeance but as a long time loyal fan of Gold’s. I’m hoping that the management knows what they are doing and will adjust their business practices before it is too late. Loyalty to their members has been lost.

Been coming here for a little over a month. The staff is great. Guy in the morning is polite and listens for any suggestions. Clientele is real good. Everyone there to put in work. Would be nice to have dumbbell rack labeled by weight and if members could follow it. But all in all a great gym, great people.

Up until today, my review would have been 5 stars. But today I used the sauna and the showers, and my experience was surprising and unpleasant.

The sauna was nice, smelled nice, felt good and hot. It was odd to me that I could see out into the cardio equipment from inside. It’s very possible it’s one way and that folks couldn’t see in, but I’m not sure. Again, a little odd but not a deal breaker.

There are two sections in the women’s locker room. When you walk in, there’s a small section to the right. Further in, there’s a larger section. I was in the first section. This becomes relevant in a bit.

I took my towel, shower items, and a bag of clean clothes to the shower area. My plan had been to dry off and change there. I used the second shower. Each shower has two sections. An area clearly for storing items and enough space to get dressed and undressed. There are zero hooks, no benches, so all personal items have to be placed on the floor to the left.

Took off shoes (I’m still in exercise gear) and adjusted the shower head to point down as far as possible and to the right. Turned it on. Immediately water poured over the lip and I was standing in a straight up puddle in my socks. The inner shower curtain does not go all the way down and so water just sprays fully out. I pushed my bag of clothes and shoes almost fully outside the changing area. Then took off my soaking wet socks. Cool. :/

Water pressure and temp were great. Again, zero hooks or tiny shelves to put anything shower related on, so I awkwardly balanced my soap dish on the water temperature handle.

Finished with shower, I then had to step into a cold full puddle in the tiny changing area. I decided that I really couldn’t dry off him a puddle, so I wrapped in a towel to dry off by my locker.

Walking from the showers to the first changing area I realized that there is a full on straight view into the women’s locker room from the gym floor. Cool. So I’m walking in a towel in essentially public view with zero way of knowing it ahead of time.

And turns out my bag got soaked so I couldn’t even put on some of my clean clothes after my shower.

This is a new gym, yes, and I’m very happy to amend this review once these are addressed:

1. Hooks or benches in the shower changing area so your stuff doesn’t get soaked.
2. Hooks or shelves in the actual shower so there’s a place to set a bar of soap from home.
3. Address the water puddle issue. Longer shower curtains? Adjust the shower head to be able to point further down?
4. Most important: make sure there is no view into the women’s changing room from the gym floor!!!

I’ll be back, and I sincerely hope these points are addressed.

Nice equipment, but feels like a planet fitness got in trouble for failing a lift and dropping 405 on the floor. The dumbell section is mess for the gym just opening super unorganized. Want to cancel my membership but I'm stuck with the contract...

I came to this gym to do leg exercises and to my surprise they only have one smith machine and it is busy all the time. I didn't like this gym at all, very few machines

Machines feel like they’ve never been lubricated and all the dumbells are disorganized and some equipment and even restrooms seem like they’ve been out of service for jnow. Gym did feel a little rushed, hoping they label their dumbell racks and better grease the machines in the future. Solid gym with cool equipment

Halfass done gym , I visited today for the fist time and last , it seems they are banning the insurance members, then asked me to pay another membership "pricematching" whatever I'm already paying for my insurance. For sure they are going to say the gym is not ready due to suppliers and what not but their competidors build up their gym so fast and 0 excuses. So lame tbh.

Great facility, I needed help a few times since being there and the staff has always been prompt with assisting, especially Joseph. There has been a few machines not working or needing to be oiled but this is something to be expected with any new business location opening, and as I said before staff has been quick to assist and fix what has been within their immediate abilities.

A lot smaller than Tierra Este location but overall beautiful, new, clean gym. I wish they had a few more strength machines but it looks like floor plan prohibits extension. Thank you for selecting the East side as your new location!

What a world class facility and team. I visited this world class facility on my trip over and I must say it is for sure 5 star. The staff and the equipment top of class.

If you are in the elpaso area it’s a must stop. The team and the State of the art equipment will make you want to come back over and over again. Thx GoldsGym El paso for making my stay amazing!!

I been patiently waiting for this place to open, but sadly the place needs repairs most treadmills don’t work, only 4 out 14 work. Some machine are dusty and they don’t have a scale, what gym doesn’t have a scale? Please fix it

For being a new gym it looks pretty ugly, is obvios that the construction didn’t go as planed finishes and details looked rushed and half done, unlevel floor, some equipment is already broken, missing weight plates, dumbbells are unorganized, the cardio equipment is not working, the gym is super dirty specially the restrooms, there is a big line to check in, and the most important is that I have the insurance membership which is valid on all Gold’s gym but not in this one?? What is wrong this location?? Definitely not coming back I do not recommend this location at all. Wedgewood and Tierra are way better than this new one.

Best golds I think in the area. Staff is awesome as well. The equipment is Definetly multi use which saves room when it’s crowded and the bench space works as well. Will be switching to this gym (no offense Tierra Estes and wedgewood) this just closer to home. Now it’s my gym home.
