The reviews say this place is small. It was decent size and had a decent amount of equipment. Staff were friendly as well.

The one constantly BAD thing is the water in the pool is almost always a couple of degrees to cold especially in the summer. When the winter started up they usually moderated the temperature well but this year itβs been to cold to even swim at times. Iβve complained in the past and they do absolutely nothing. All it needs is to be about 2 degrees warmer and until you guys get consistent with this Iβm gonna keep posting these bad reviews!

Disrespectful staff and they are that way repeatedly. I reported it to the general manager and I will see how this second complaint is handled.
Update:
I was waiting for the improvement in the behavior of one staff but this has not occurred. A member of the cleaning staff is still acting out and is belligerent and has resorted, laughably, to βattemptingβ intimidation. Thatβs not my game thatβs a losers game. Sad state of affairs and management is unwilling to address their problem employee. The GM was given multiple opportunities to address the problem and he has chosen not to so I feel obligated to post this customer review/warning for those considering this particular gym location. Therefore, I highly advise another location or another fitness brand.

I do not recommend at all. Bad administration service. I told the guy that he didn't want a contract that it would only be one month, he said he didn't open a contract that he only had to pay the month and another $ 10 to start that same day. Well, at the time of payment, he asked for my card and I told him that he would pay in cash because he had read that when paying with the card they continued to charge even if he no longer used the services. He insisted that it was better to pay with a card. I do not accept and pay in cash. I went only 2 weeks. The month I had paid and that I had explained clearly would be the only month I would go. At the end of that month I thought that as he had told me there was no type of contract that there was nothing to pay and as a result they continued to charge each month when I never returned to that place. Even so I had to pay several months.

It's a gym that has good equipment to workout with in a crunch. Some of the staff is great and then others don't know how to say hi to u when u walk through the door.

Have been a member here for 3 years and just recently have been having issues with service. Tonight being one of them when after my workout I wanted to buy a water, but the guy said I couldnβt because they close the registers early (it was 15 or 20 minutes before closing). I think I should be able to buy something during business hours right???????? I know itβs just water but really?!?! #upsetmember

SHODDY BUSINESS - BUYER BEWARE. Even if your contract ends, they will continue to charge the membership fee. You have to go in person to cancel - and even this doesn't always stop the membership fee from being deducted from your checking account. Check your bank statements so you don't get ripped off.

Do not give this gym your money simple as that.
Sleezy contracts and sleazy employees that'll do anything to take your money.
Overpriced for the available amenities.
Dont waste your time calling because the only answer to anything is "visit our location"
I'd rather go to planet fitness to eat pizza and donuts than work out at this dump.

The location is nice and for a Goldβs express it has a good amount of equipment. The only problem I have is the mens locker room because it never gets cleaned. However, I often see other members clean up the sinks and showers but they shouldnβt have to do that

I have been with this gym for several years and have been completely pleased with my experience there. Recently I asked where the General Manager was and they told me "he is gone". That is it! No notice to the clients at all. Shawn is a great guy and everyone really liked him. We would like to have been notified of his leaving and had a chance to say goodbye. I would think a company of this size would have better customer relations. They could have at least let us known that he was gone. It's none of our business why he left but it was handled poorly. My 2 cents.

This facility is in need of a serious upgrade. Older equipment and an average staff make it less than desirable for a workout

I've been a member since 2013 and love the astmophere and support from the gym staff and their knowledge of workout related information, I highly recommend them, I have seen young Men and women transformation, older men and women leave the United States of obesity and feel great about themselves thanks to Gold's Gym

I just moved to TX and was looking for a gym closed to home. I called today for info on the gym and the person that answer made me feel as if I was bothering him... I asked for membership pricing he then said they dont give quotes over the phone. I asked what does membership include the proceeds to tell me what it doesnt. Almost as if he didnt have time very bad customer service. I was considering joining but after that conversation I changed my mind. I'll just take my money else where, not that anyone there cares.

I had some issues with the prior management about canceling my membership. I called and talked with Ryan and she was very helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied. I moved out of the area and that is the only reason I left the gym. I would def refer any friends and family to this gym. Thanks again for all of your help!!!

First off, promote the young black gentleman cleaning up after the gym throughout the day. I always see him busy and with a true welcoming attitude unlike some of the other front desk staff. The gym maintains a high level of cleanliness.
Received some responsive actions from previous complaints about the equipment (although it took feedback to corporate to procure change). Nevertheless, cardio equipment (not treadmills), and facility amenities still needs updating, repair, and/or replacement.
Also, from a affiliation point of view. I see livestrong branded equipment which is associated to an athlete who has been found unequivocally guilty of cheating in his sport. I dont believe Gold's Gym benefits from such connections, just saying.

Super busy all the time, equipment is always broken. If you ever ever try to cancel your membership they make it very difficult and still bill you the yearly and monthly fee and make you come in and fill out a form. Even though they already charged the last month up front they still charge you after you cancel.

This is an express location. I use this gym regularly for cardio and lifting. Equipment is kept in good condition with few exceptions, place is relatively clean for a gym/membership of this size, and I find the staff to be attentive and friendly. I am in here 3-4x a week for more than 3 yrs. I am also a member at Lifetime Fitness in Austin, but find myself using this Gold's out of convenience. The Express membership cost is very reasonable for what they offer. For the people who expect all the "bells and whistles" in their gym - seek out a full service gym and expect to pay for it. You get what you pay for.

I haven't tried to cancel so I don't know if that's a difficult experience as others claim, but you get what you pay for here. For the Express monthly cost, it's a fantastic option to go in and get a lift or jump on the treadmill, and includes a media room for the mindless cardio, and I would never expect to get a sauna and tanning for what I pay there. It's also always extremely clean, and while small, the locker room and shower area is more than serviceable to clean up after your a.m. workout and get to work. The weight area is also not huge, but I rarely have an issue getting my workout in. They've also added in a few more pieces of equipment.
This is definitely not your meathead gym. My biggest complaint is the HS dudes that hang around in groups and talk 75% of the time, but that's not the gym, that's just annoyance. Gold's needs a Terry Tate office linebacker to slam them into action.

The clientele at this gym is horrible! I have been bullied on more than one occassion. The people that work out there think they own the place and the place is a mess all the time. They never rerack the weights.
The management allows this to happen.

Like pulling teeth to cancel your membership. Its really sad. I have my own bussiness and couldn't fathom trying to swindle people for a service they decide they don't use, want, or need anymore. It's theft.

This is a good place to work out. The facility is nice, however it is almost impossible to cancel their membership, the cancelation policy is ridiculous. After 6 months of canceling my membership the gym still do unauthorized charges on my account. When enrolling into this gym, I highly recommend utilizing a prepaid credit card. Providing a debit or credit card will cause you headaches after canceling the membership.

This gym is terrible. Its Small, overcrowded and every a single amenity has been removed. The sauna, tanning, massage are all gone. This is a joke of a Golds Gym as the trainers are all terrible.
The only good trainer was a guy with a man bun and even he has left this gym. The rest of the trainers both male and female are overweight and out of shape. If you want to go to a real gym with classes and every single machine you could ever think of then I'd suggest going to House of Gainz on williams dr. They have a huge cross-fit section, tons of machines, real trainers, and they are in the process of building a sauna. All this at the same cost of a Golds membership.

I love it here seeing all those negative comments automaticly makes me want to keep going here so I dont have to deal with all these people...it is good for getting in "lifting" and getting out sometimes you get the peanut gallery but if you want a good pump and not alot of weirdos looking at you in the mirror slam it into your gps.

This gym no longer can stay up with the tremendous amount of traffic; the equipment is braking down all the time, the gym floor is dirty, locker rooms are dirty, it's small, crowded and there are a lot of losers working out here. If you're okay with all of this then this is your place.

This place is great! I have been going here for a little over three months and have never had a problem! Brian is great! He is very involved in operations and installed a second squat rack when it was needed. Seems that only complainers post on Google reviews! Hard to take people serious when they are whining about quitting! Don't sign a 12 month contract if your not committed to 12 months.

Gold's Gym Express in Georgetown promised free WiFi for their customers. In November of 2014 the WiFi went out and the manager, Brian, assured us that it would be up and running by the end of the week. He said this every week. WiFi was down from November until around March. My contract expired in July of 2015, but I was assured that I would not get any charges past my contracts expiration. I continued to be charged past that date. I called the manager, Brian, at least 6 times to get this resolved. He always promised he would take care of it and call me back the next day. He did not once return my call. The lack of professionalism by manager Brian led me to never do business with a Gold's chain again.

This is truly an "express" gym...as in get here and see how little free weight equipment there is, and quickly give up and go home. One squat rack in the entire place! All the benches and even the barbells are miniature. Preloaded barbells only up to 60 pounds. There are plenty of cardio machines, treadmills, the latest resistance machines, and a cardio cinema...fine for geriatrics but if you're a man don't even bother with this place. It's too bad, because other than that it would be a decent gym. I'll never waste my time trying to squeeze a workout in here again!

The only way to get a membership is to provide them with direct billing to your bank account....so if you loose your debit card that is associated with it, they will ding your credit report and send it to collections within 30 days.
Speaking with the GM of Cedar Park location he said that In fine print of the contract you sign it states, that after your contract is up they will continue billing your bank account (month to month) until you give a written statement IN PERSON that you want to terminate the membership....oh and it takes 30 days to process and they will continue taking payments after your notice....
What the hell are contracts for besides screwing over the consumer?
If your renting, or can forsee the future what life changes you may have, be aware that if you move and are within 100 miles (round trip) of a Golds gym even if the closest Golds to you doesnt have hardly any amenities you are screwed. They will not let you out of the contract.
