terrible ownership and integrity. Their new scam is over charging people who canceled their memberships and they saying we don’t have proof of you canceling it. I canceled mine on Oct 21st of 2018 they hit my account 48.63 which was to pay off the contract and thought it was done since it was opened January 2018. No charges in November or December. January and February 2019 they start hitting me with 48 and 76 dollar charges never signed anything remotely close to these fees or services. Call them and then they cancel it over the phone because they know they are in the wrong. Now they are fighting my disputed charges for the month of January and February luckily my CC company confirmed they are sticking on my side and will not pay them for the charges in January and February. Please do not use this gym they are crooks and will try to steal for you over a canceled membership. They will use the date when you call them about the charges as your termination date. I guess they aren’t they bright at math because a year long contract wouldn’t spill over to the new year. If anyone has had this same experience please fight them on it and use their own contract against them along with the charges you paid the day you terminated your membership. They make you pay it off the day you cancel it so use those facts and hopefully your CC company will be able to see what’s scam they are pulling as mine did.
Update they are under new management and they are ten times easier to deal with and are resolving the issue as mentioned above. I have changed my review to a three stars to help out since it is new management and doesn’t reflect the past doing of the old.

I've been going to Gym X for a while now and I've never had to wait for a machine. Their equipment is top of the line! Plenty of options and all the free weights you could ever need. From novice to professional bodybuilder they've got you covered! Not to mention a giant room of treadmills, ellipticals, and stair climbers. Definitely the best Gym in the area!

The owner is not an honorable person, when you cancel your membership they say you must notify ABC Finance company, and ABC says you must notify Gym x all the while they keep charging you. I've been going to this gym for about 10 years. Staff is friendly and responsive, lots of machines and weights, no waiting for weights or benches, generally friendly patrons who have a pretty good sense of gym etiquette. Most people are there to work out. I've been going to gyms for 50+ years and this has what I am looking for. I'm not looking to socialize or for the latest "miracle" workout machine. I can get in, find the machines and weights I want, and get out. It works for me.

Use to go to gymx a while back and didn’t care for it. But they called me to resign and it was a Very good experience! Went to sign up and the guy at the counter was pretty cool and made me a great deal. Hell I probably spent at least 20mintues bs with the dude! !!!WARNING PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS SACRED AND PURE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! If I could give this gym negative stars I would do it without hesitation. This business does not live up to the standards they claim to uphold. I maintained a membership with them last year that ended December 2017 possessing proof of said contract. Therefore, I have not been back after that date and also because I no longer live in the area to continue going anyway. I figured it was all said and done but no it was not. I have not heard from them or anything about it until September of 2018 by waking to a charge from Gym X for a full years membership. I thought, OK maybe there was a misunderstanding and decided to go there in person to correct it, they assured me that I would be refunded the amount and my contract with them has in fact ended on the previously mentioned date "having all smiles imitating good customer service by the way" believing them was, in fact, my fault in the highest order. Now lets fast forward to August of 2018 and I couldn't believe there was ANOTHER CHARGE for the same identical amount by you guessed it, GYM X!! But wait I terminate my membership with them within the 30-day time frame why another charge to renew without my signature or me being there to do so?? I addressed them right away, and they gave me the same old story "acts of confusion on their part", but there was still an issue of the refund for the first charge being unmade as well claiming it is on its way over and over again. And now lets skip to this month December 2018, I was charged additionally for the third time for the same amount, I called them about this because this is now getting out of hand, I have currently paid three years worth of membership in three months time without my person being there and signature even after getting confirmed cancellation from the start. I had no other choice but to cancel my own card and blocking them from future unauthorized purchases just to be sure. They have NOT refunded me for the three charges till this day and I believe they will never do so sadly. Do yourself a solid and DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVERY, DO NOT EVEN WALK OR DRIVE BY IT, BECAUSE IT'S A MONEY TRAP! I would rather walk/run around the neighborhood for cardio then go here ever again.

At first I loved this gym and the people. As i stopped going due to personal reasons, I would get attitude from employees. I went in to cancel because I was planning on moving. Well, I now am moving to Waco because of my schooling. Just too far to drive. The front desk person gave me a paper I could barely read. It was almost completely blacked out. It got to the part of how much I owed. The guy informed me I owed over 300$ because i had a year long contract. Well, when i joined the gym i repeatedly said i want to be able to have kid zone and tanning but only can do month to month due to my SO being over seas. I could move at anytime. I was informed it was just going to be month to month. The only two papers I signed was a waiver that if I was hurt Gym X wouldn't be liable and a receipt for my credit card. I signed up with Personal Training. Missed a few times due to my sick child or being out of town. I didnt get to make up all of my scheduled times. When I confronted I got attitude and was told I need to stop being "sassy" and leave. I paid for the remaining regardless. They didnt tell me about a 30 cancelation process. Which by the way is not nation wide. I've called a few places before and worked out at a few gyms. All in all yes I gained more confidence because I did learn a few things, but I wouldn't recomend this Gym. They charged my card 45 dollars for the past three months when apparently it was supposed to be 34.99. If they charge me again next month I will be letting my bank know and they will come after this company for fraud or illeagal withdrawing without permission.

So I worked out there for over a year. When I started it was great. But honestly about half of the machines have stopped working and there's becoming less and less room. There's only so many dumbbells. This is edited to reflect my new feelings. 1st off I almost flipped off the front of a treadmill because it just stopped mid run. The class I attended was canceled without notice almost as much as it was held. Finally I moved and I instructed them to stop payments they assured me they would until I looked at my credit card bill and what do you know? They haven't. Don't go to this gym. Let it die like it should. Maybe someone will buy the space and make a business actually resembling a business.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Have you seen the Friends episode where Chandler tries to quit the gym but can't? This place puts that episode to shame. I tried to cancel my membership in January because I knew I would be moving later in the year, but they told me that they wanted proof of where I was moving first. I tried going back several times but either a manager was busy or I was told to come back. Because I don't like confrontation I was a fool and left. I graduated in the spring and so cancelling a gym membership was put on the backburner. In June I moved to Florida (a remarkably long way from Texas) and called *again* trying to cancel my membership. 6 calls later, repeated promises to have the manager call me (he never called me back, I was just really lucky one of those calls), I was finally able to speak to a manager who told me he would email me a cancellation form. He never followed through and I still have a membership...I call again today, and was told by an employee that this guy would call me back "shortly" even though he was standing at the desk next to him. An hour later with no call I call back and the manager has left for the day.

I have had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau over this place, and have told my credit card company to withhold all future payments. It is ridiculous to have to work so hard to cancel a simple monthly membership.

It's getting one star just because I cannot do anything lower. I waited until my contract was up and gave them my 30 day cancelation notive. This was in July. Since then I have had to go up there 3 times to talk to the manager that is not helpful at all. They are horrible. The manager is a douche and a half. I can not believe the Nerve of these people for real. Very old worn out equipment, many has out of order on them, the equipment is not adjusted properly, the second you stop, it reset to beginner mode, very frustrating. Several Tv's in the same room kept on one news channel. When asked to change one to another news, the staff placed on cartoons then gave poor excuses; many remotes has no battery, not sure which remote to use..duhh. Just make sure you like the gym before committing to a nonrefundable year contract. Put yourself on a month contract first, I wasted my hard earn money on this. ...so here we go my drama with gymx, my husband went there on 09/30 to cancel it, the lady at the front desk said everything was ok and no copy was needed. we moved to another state and now gymx keeps trying to charge us! I have called gymx EVERY SINGLE DAY! And requested a call back from the manager, as he always too busy to answer my call. Nobody calls me back, nobody gives me an answer! ( I even had a friend of mine going to the front desk and handed her phone to the person and they also gave me a run around) I have blocked the company from taking money from my account and now we are getting collection calls! Signed up for the classes. The schedule kept changing -classes got canceled- and the pricing was not what was originally stated. Had some mysterious charges on my bill after the first couple months. They were unable to provide a printout of my statement to show or explain the extra fees.

Note: There are a number of negative reviews about this place mostly concerning membership. I do not have a membership at this place. I used this place only because the hotel I'm staying at has a tieup and gives me free passes. So my review is solely based on my experience.

Visiting Temple for a week. The hotel I'm staying with has a tieup with GymX. Wasn't expecting a lot before I walked in through the door, but I was satisfied with what I saw.

Very large space. They have everything that a gym needs to have. There's an aerobics room, weights section, and tons of machines. Most machines are outdated but I'm not picky about that. They have classes and personal training that they offer at additional prices. Front desk lady was pleasant to speak to.

Overall, I am very pleased with the experience and I would come back again if I am in the area. They are open 24/7, so that's a big plus.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place used to be great and has gone so far downhill. The rest rooms are dirty and dusty, the stalls are propped up on pieces of wood and the toilet handle was broken for the longest time. The equipment is always broken. The pins for weight machines are about three pins to every ten machines so good luck finding any pins. The equipment is dirty, as in actual dirt on the steps on the cardio equipment. There are never any towels for tanning. To add to all of that, I tried to stop my membership and they continued to charge me. I called and complained, was promised a call back and never got one. I called again, fought for a refund and they said they would do it after they were done with customers​. Total lie. They never submitted the refund and then tried AGAIN to pull money out the following month but my card was cancelled. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone and I was a loyal member since 2005.

You are guaranteed to have multiple machines broken, I guarantee it. Aside from this, my wife and I both contracted some serious rash and skin infection as a result from utilizing the dirty equipment at this gym, which is created by the sloppy members who don't clean up after themselves and the gym itself not having a good cleaning regiment. I know, with 100% certainty, those wipe down cloth rags can stay there over 24 hours. How do I know? I noticed a small oddity on the rag in one section of the gym, took a picture of it and the next day, same rag, same spot! Disgusting.

Couple this with the fact we didn't sign up for the yearly membership, we wanted month-to-month, and now they're saying we signed up for the year contract. I am sorry, but our main reason for going here was for the fact you didn't have to sign up for a yearly contract, if you didn't want to. It appears you're going to be subject to the bait and switch dishonesty here.

The owner of the GymX brand is Mark Bounds and the Publicly listed registered agent address is: 120 SHAWNEE TRAIL CELINA, TX 75009 - I have attempted to send my cancellation letter to them in an effort to close the account. My advice to everyone here, if you're going to cancel, send a certified letter to BOTH the gym you attend and the registered agent's address above. Ensure you get tracking and show it was delivered and keep a copy of this available. If you receive no response with 3 business days, send a second letter of intent to cancel, giving them an additional 3 days. If no response, send the absolute final letter stating you have yet to hear from them and you'll be advising your bank to place a hold on all future charges until the matter is resolved.

There's usually at least one machine out of order every time I go. Gym equipment that get lost or damaged never get repaired or replaced. That being said; for starters, you can only find one pair of dumbbells between the weights of 30 pounds and 70 pounds. If you go work out after 5 p.m. you walk into a restroom that has not been cleaned all day. On a good note, they do have plenty of machines and plates for weights. My guess is that if the staff wasn't too focused on their sales and paid a little more attention to detail this would be a better place.

They confirmed it was all taken care of, but they continued to charge my credit card after I left. So I emailed them to cancel and got no reply. Left with no option but to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Now I get a collection agency letter for $10 even after making payment for 6 months after I cancelled a NO CONTRACT membership. I should be fighting for the 6 months membership fees back that they already collected after I cancelled.

We signed up today and the guy was soo nice. The gym was very clean and only had 3 machines down out of so many. Very excited about starting out journey with such great people. They have all new employees so the customer service should improve.

Just as another reviewer wrote below. This is the WORST GYM EVER. The child care was terrible, the gym was usually dirty and to top it of the employees apparently don't know how to do their jobs properly. I went in the month our membership was to end, turned in my key cards, told them we did not want to continue or membership when it was up and the employee said okay that's all I had to do. Got the call a week later "do you want to renew?" I told them no and that I had already turned in my key cards and spoke with an employee. It's now 3 months later and I am still being charged for the membership with no access to the gym as well as being charged the once a year "up keep" fee. Spoke to the manager and apparently it's my fault I didn't fill out paper work at the end of my contract even though the employee told me face to face she was sure there was nothing else I needed to do. The manager said she would refund me the money and it would take about 3-5 days for the refund. Eight days later still NOTHING, called the manager, got some excuse about they changed companies for finances and it will be 2 weeks. It's now almost 3 weeks and guess what!? still haven't received my refund. Manger says it's being processed and there is nothing she can do. They also can't seem to get me in contact with the next in charge, which is apparently the owner. I was told "the Owner doesn't deal with the members". This is how the OWNER wants to run a company, that is supposed to be a place for a family to work out together.... Save yourself some time, go somewhere else!

Worst gym EVER! I can honestly this is my first review I have ever written before and I am doing this to help out future people. This gym is dirty, unfriendly, and so is the child service. Half of the bathrooms are out of service and the equipment is extremely old. I got a membership last Thursday simply because I need a gym with child care, when I went today, I tried getting my money back since the gym is not up to my standards (child care is horrible), and they will not prorate and return any of my money. The so called general manager said to talk to the people next door about child care since they are hired under Total Titan. The situation was not handled professionally and I hope people are aware of this gym and, potential people BEWARE before going here!!!!!

This is THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!! the only reason I signed up at this gym is because I was told it was a month to month deal NO CONTRACT. When I called to cancel my membership they said no I couldn't cancel because I signed a year contract. So apparently it's my fault that the person working didn't know what they were doing. So I have been paying this membership that I did not want for a WHOLE YEAR! Now, a year later they call and ask "would you like to renew your contract" and I said NO! Well now they are still charging my account and now it's apparently my fault AGAIN that the guy that called me didn't tell me to come in and fill out a cancellation form. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!
