We’ve been HOTWORX members for over 2 years. We frequently travel the country and use other studios. Our home studio is alliance. Today we tried this location our code to get in didn’t work and my app wasn’t showing any locations to choose from (gotta love technology) we came in and went immediately to worker to see if he’d know the issue or what to do. He was super sweet but responded he’s just the owners husband that she’s who handles that stuff.

My partners app was working and she booked 4 sessions in which I accompanied her.

We made several comments about how we liked this one’s set up and some of the things other locations didn’t have and we’d use this one more often.

After our 2nd session the owners husband came and told Britt that the owner needed to speak with her. She responded ok no problem we’ll call her back after we’re done working out. We continued. After we finished our blast session I put our mats and towel in the room and we started our hot core session. We can hear the husband on phone saying I see 1 mat, which we thought was odd but he had been pacing back and forth past the rooms we were in the whole time. Then he comes and taps on the door and says Angie needs to speak with you immediately. She apparently had been blowing up my partners phone. We call her and she starts by saying their door lock is malfunctioning and will be fixed by the end of the day (explains why our code didn’t work). Then proceeds gives us the third degree about our memberships verifying them and asking if we had our mats and towels in the sauna as she prides herself on making sure we’re using the appropriate tools and she watches on cameras to make sure rules aren’t being broken and the people who enter have memberships. Then wishes us a good session. 🙄

Needless to say this whole experience was more than uncomfortable and put a terrible taste in our mouths. we won’t be returning to this location. We’ve never dealt with the feeling of being watched or having an owner hound us. We own a semi large business ourselves and can’t image doing that to our customers.

Responding to the owners response:

We conversed with your husband upon arrival about the issue which you were aware of. Verifying membership is one thing stalking members and harassing them is completely different. And I called our home studio and handled my issue. The previous poster was correct in his comment that you need to do better! You are ruining your own business.

I love Hotworx! I love the positive motivation from the virtual instructors. I love how I can have a quick 15 minute HIIT workout on my busy days (or the days I just don't want to workout😉). I can adjust the temperature and even turn the lights down if I want a little more privacy. The ability to access Hotworx 24/7 is also great for my crazy schedule. The owner is also amazing and available for any help or questions. Just a great place!

I have now been a member at this HOTWORX for 6 months and I have regained my confidence back! I have not officially lost any weight yet, but I am down a full pants size and people have started commenting on my glowing skin. There are so many benefits to the hot infrared sauna and especially health! I urge you to try out a class, and it can be a 15 minute HIIT class if you’re nervous to try one of the 45 minute ISO classes at first. When you join, give yourself 3-4 classes for your body to get used to the temperature and you will be thanking yourself later, trust me as it’s the best decision I have made for my health (age 43 when joined).

Edited from a previous experience. I have now had the owner, Angie, reach out to me twice for not wearing a tank/shirt in a sauna. I see other men without shirts on, and I see women in bras, and sometimes less than that. I have received two personal messages from her, and this is the only studio this occurs in (I have been a Hotworx member for four years).

The other piece is the blatant sexism that encompasses this. I don’t see any reprimanding for women whom choose to wear minimal clothing. As a gay individual, it’s not something that I want to see. But understand people want to be comfortable when they workout. It makes me think I’m being targeted and spied on with cameras.

Do better Hotworx Keller.

In relation the the response I got: you said you assure comfortability. I don’t feel comfortable when others are breaking this rule, but I get chastised when I don’t wear a shirt (in the sauna). This includes women who wear only bras. So if that’s the situation. May I only wear a bra when I workout? Or would this be against company rules? Confused on how you assure all your members are comfortable when you pick and choose. Be more like the Fort Worth/Dallas locations. This studio appears to be out of touch.

I have been a member of hotworx for a few months now and I absolutely love it! Out of all of the Hotworx locations I have been to around DFW, Angie’s is by far my favorite. It is always clean and smells AMAZING! Would highly recommend this Hotworx location to anyone!

I am obsessed with Hotworx and feel like it gave me my life back postpartum after having a baby. A serious stress buster and has been huge in helping my anxiety/stress. It's rarely crowded and the manager is incredibly helpful, kind. This membership is worth every dollar!

Hotworx is an amazing workout. There is so much variety that you will never be bored. All workouts are no impact and will have you sweating out the toxins better than any other workout. Hotworx in Keller has amazing staff who are incredibly helpful and kind. If you haven't, you absolutely should go take your free class. What do you have to lose?

Absolutely love Hotworx!! The owner is an absolute gem as well as all of her employees! I love but it's 24/7 access and not only am I getting a good workout but I have the added benefits of some detoxification and anti-inflammation properties.
I had breast cancer last year and being in an infrared sauna was one of the recommendations by my oncologist. It's a win-win situation for a gym rat :-)

Tried out this gym for the first time bout 1 month ago and I highly recommend it!! If you're looking to get a quick work out in from HIIT type of workout to Yoga and burn lots of calories in a short time, give this place a shot. I was hooked after the first class. The benefits of working out here is: convenience (24hrs), clean, friendly, you can book your class on the app, they have a free weights section in addition to the hot saunas. Don't let the word sauna mislead you, there is a difference here due to the infrared benefit. Regular saunas heats up the air whereas this type of sauna uses infrared heat to penetrate your muscles. My experience is less soreness afterwards, skin improvement, and you feel amazing after you’ve worked out. The one thing I do love is the staff, friendly welcoming and knowledgeable about the whole program. Angie is wonderful so kind hearted and helpful. Make sure to bring your water bottle!!

I’ve been a member of HOTWORX Keller for over a year now and I love it. The staff has always been friendly, professional, and amazing. They keep the studio incredibly clean! Angie, the owner, is probably the sweetest gym owner I have ever met. She truly cares about her members and staff. I’m a Sweat Everywhere member, and Keller is my home studio. I’ve been to quite a few other studios and none compare to Keller at all. This is the cleanest studio with the nicest staff.

I originally joined at the Alliance location before you say "We do not show you as a member of our studio or any other HOTWORX". So I am a sweat everywhere member, I occasionally come to this one since its close to my house. I meet a friend at different locations who encouraged me to join as an accountability partner.

Today we went to the Keller location, and the Owner Angie was so rude. She interrupts our conversation on the way out in the hallway and say "can y'all be a little quieter" for the members so they can hear? I responded did someone complain since it was only like 2 people working out if that. She says, "no". Now I admit I can be loud at times but that's not how you approach someone...plus I know from experience that they can cut the volume up if they wanted to, I wasn't that loud.

At the Southlake location and Alliance location I do not have these problems, they are very kind and welcoming.

I started using the dry sauna in college. Love at the first sweat. Whether on travel or club memberships, I have been a frequent sauna user several times a week. After reading about the advantages of the infrared sauna, I wanted to try it out for many years. When I saw the HOTWORX Keller sign, I went for a visit on June 15, 2020. I joined that day. HOTWORX consists of 24-hour fitness studios with virtual instructors. Heat, Infrared Energy, and Exercise result in maximum sweat in a short period. I initially wasn't going to write a review, but the owner is very unprofessional and rude. I just moved into my Southlake home and this is the first and last time utilizing Hotworx Keller. The owner was definitely stereotyping me. My code wasn't working as I was putting it into the keypad. The owner was standing right at the door and wouldn't let me in until I started knocking. Then I asked for assistance with my code and the owner was no help. I worked out and when I was done I went back outside put my code in and it worked. The owner started giving me a lecture on how I can only use a Hotworx towel and mat and if I needed one, I could buy one. Mind you, I was leaving. I had a Hotworx mat in my hand and told the owner I didn't know I could only use a HotworX towel. The Colleyville and Frisco Hotworx are amazing. I will not be returning to this location, but I think this is what the owner wanted.

I never write reviews but after seeing all the other reviews, I have to agree that this is the worst owner/management/service I’ve ever encountered. I had a confusing misunderstanding with my membership because we moved from Flower Mound to Fort Worth and the owner literally treated me like I was a criminal. I almost had to laugh, it was so weird. I have referred friends and co workers here and I’m just in shock. One time I forgot my band and this older lady went through a whole extreme show where she said she had to call her superior to ask if I could borrow a small little band. She made a scene until I missed my class and then comes back and says “sorry I can’t allow you to borrow a band, the other members will be very upset.” Come to find out later, she was the manager LOL. I felt like I was in a twilight zone. I have been to other locations that are better but this one was a nightmare.

Hotworx is a ripoff. Too expensive, too crowded. Canceling is a nightmare. They require a 60 day notice after a forced 3 months of membership. Just go to lifetime fitness. The dry sauna there, after a workout is much better than over exerting myself in infrared heat.
Also, the door code system is a nightmare as well. I could complain about many things especially how the owner of this location is a pretentious b**** but I'll keep it to this little blurb. AVOID HOTWORX. I'd be surprised if this company still exists in a few years.

I’ve been going now for seven weeks and I love it! I’ve done boot camp and weight training before. As I’ve gotten older I enjoy Yoga and Pilates more. The heat helps reduce stress, detox and allows for a deeper stretch. I’ve just begun to add weights to my workout following a sauna session. Angie and her staff are amazing and do a great job keeping the studios clean. This is a one stop shop with great customer service and awesome workout options at an affordable price.
