I love Hotworx. It’s the best fitness studio I have ever experienced. I love how they infrared therapy studios burn twice as many calories as my old workouts. I love the cycle class and the rowing always throw in a hot core throughout the week as well.

Attempted to cancel my membership multiple times from 3-4pm. Was told by molly (that was extremely disrespectful) that the manager leaves to pick up her kids and she is the only one who can cancel the membership but i would receive a call or I would “just have to wait” because she refused to contact her manager. I tried again the next two days, and was hung up on. Tried to call back three times and was forwarded. Then 10 minutes later received a call back from regan who was very kind and told to check back again on Monday. I’m trying to get a better picture as to when it would be best to cancel my membership and i’m hit with “you can google the times we’re open.”- from the manager herself brittany which was admitted on the phone. see the attached photo for my interactions with the manager. Staff are very disrespectful. Would not recommend & I definitely will not be returning or recommending to anyone. The saunas are not cleaned properly and reek of sweat.

Unfortunately the reason for a one start and this review is simply because they are completely ignoring my request to cancel my membership. I spoke with the manager in July and we agreed to cancel in Aug since that would have put me past the 6months mark so I won’t be charged a cancellation fee. Well they continued to charge my card, reached out again in September and now October because now they don’t respond to any messages or calls. But in July I received a call back right away.
I truly liked this place, I considered joining again after I finished nursing school in summer of 26’. However, with this type of issue I simply won’t. This is beyond ridiculous to make it unnecessarily difficult to cancel.

I love going to Hotworx and the overall theme of private workouts in your own personal sauna. They change the video workouts often enough that it doesn't get stale but not too often so you have time to learn the postures and deepen your practice. The infrared heat feels so good and I get such a great workout each time! I've been a member for a year now and still love it.

I joined HOTWORX about 4 months ago at the Tyler location. After the first trial session, I was hooked! This location is always clean and I feel amazing after my workouts. The manager, Brittany, was professional, helped set up my account, explained the contract to me, got me set up with the app, and helped recommend the best classes for my goals. I joined HOTWORX about 2 months ago and I can’t rave enough about this location. It’s always spotless clean and someone is ALWAYS cleaning when I’m there! the staff is extremely accommodating and friendly, the manager , Britta has made everything super easy , setting me up on the app and explaining everything to me, getting me hooked up with the right gear and the classes that fit my skill level best. My goddess I absolutely loved the work out here. Everyone besides the manager are absolutely a pleasure to be around. This was a facility we went to for 4 sessions a day 5 days a week. One day I’m coming in to promote the facility with a possible new client for them. When out of nowhere comes Brittany and starts accusing me of cursing and being the load the day before and a client had to leave. First you approach your clients with discreet bit accusations. And seeing how Brittany is there 4 out of five times we are there. She could have said I have never had a problem with her. She took the client at face value. And I canceled my membership. I pay too much to have an inexperienced supervisor talk to me like that in front of a client. The same time I was canceling my membership. She was canceling a man membership for complaints on him sweating too much. But I’ll let him let his story.

Recently signed up at Hotworx through Carolina, and I can't say enough positive things about her and my experience so far! From the moment I walked in, she was welcoming, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about all of the services offered. She took the time to explain everything in detail, making sure I felt comfortable and confident in my workouts. She also recommended various products, such as the core compressor, HEAT Accelerator, and the ankle/wrist weights to help boost my workouts. 2/10/25 - As I exited the sauna after a wonderful workout, I was approached by an employee who said in a matter-of-fact tone that I was not able to use the towel I had brought for my workout. I had to use a HOTWORX towel and HOTWORX mat. I said I’ve never had this issue before; I’ve been coming here for almost a year. She said, “You already have the mat, but you will need to rent or purchase a HOTWORX towel.” She even stated that I could buy a towel then and there. I told her no, I would talk with someone.
After this interaction, I felt very disturbed by the fact that I was exiting the sauna not even having gathered my stuff yet, and I was approached in this way. What was suppose to be my own personal workout and time was ruined by this interaction. As I was leaving, I noticed her and another person standing behind the desk. As I was about to exit feeling very disrespected by my experience
turned to her(the person who approached me)and said, “You really need to learn how to speak to customers.” The person next to her stated she was the manager and I could speak directly to her. I shared what happened and what I had experienced. Her response was very robotic, stating the exact same thing that “I have to have a HOTWORX towel/mat as noted outside of the sauna. She
stated it is in the contract “if you do not have a HOTWORX mat and a HOTWORX towel you will not be allowed to enter the sauna”. The next day I went in and canceled my membership only to be told by the same manager Brittney that I would be charged two additional months to cancel. They require a 60 day cancellation notice. ( I do not fully understand this charge. I canceled long before the next billing cycle).
She stated that I would have access to the gym at any time for the remaining 60 days, which is not true because I do not have a HOTWORX towel. And I was definitely not going to buy one or rent one since I am canceling and will never go there again. The issue began because I did not have their towel. There are many towels like their towels for workouts today. And many other people use their own towels. I am not sure if there is any workout facility with any membership requiring you to use only their towel. To top it off, their towel and mat are not cheap. Should there have been respect for me completing my exercise and a more respectful tone and proper way to speak to customers in this place, the incident would not have happened.
To the owner of this Tyler franchise and to the corporate office of HOTWORX , if you are so adamant about each member having a HOTWORX mat and towel, you should include it in the membership without increasing the fee due to the cost of both items. Most importantly, invest in proper customer service for all of your employees, including your managers. In closing, the success of your business depends on the people in this community. We pay a lot each month to work out and de-stress. Your employees’ treatment of me in their robotic and cold demeanor left me distressed. Customer service is crucial to the survival of any service industry. Kindness and respect go a long way. Many reviews of this location are negative and problematic, so I know I am not the only one, and that must be addressed with respect and care. Again, this review is being escalated to the owner and the corporation for hopes it will be addressed and they will make serious changes.

I had a membership at a brand new studio in a town I moved from. I was super excited that my favorite gym was in the town I was moving to. I swung by and checked it out when I was in town for my job interview. I really liked the owner. After moving here and upgrading to the sweat everywhere membership it was apparent that this studio, being one of the original studios, was being maintained in a subpar manner. There were stained and splintered sauna floors and disgusting smells emanating from the HIIT studios. Not to mention the bikes in disrepair with torn seats and pieced together parts that did not function correctly. The door handles were also not seated correctly. The screens were burned out in some of the saunas. Also, the members did not adequately address the cleaning required after they would use the HIIT equipment.

There were also boxes stored on top of the saunas, which contributed to the overall bad vibes. I tried contacting corporate about these issues and did not receive any response.

I also had the privilege of meeting the creator of HotWorx at the grand opening in the town I moved from. It’s hard to believe that corporate just doesn’t care. Steve Smith seemed like a reasonable and on point person who personally showed up at the grand opening for one of his franchisees.

When comparing this studio to others I visited with my sweat everywhere membership, I can only say it does not inspire me. It is not maintained to the other sauna’s standards.

I miss the convenience of the HotWorx 24/7 workout with the intense and helpful infrared energy, but I’m not excited to go to workout in a place that is not clean, fresh and in good repair.

I wish someone would open a brand new location with great natural lighting in ann outlying Tyler town that would be closer to me. I would rejoin that gym.

I've been a member for almost a year now. I've experienced several uncomfortable moments from judgmental staff members. Most of them are teenage/early 20's girls left unsupervised without any management a lot of the time. I've been waiting for the rowing machines to be repaired to even try it since signing up. Hot Cycle is my favorite, but the bikes get jankier and jankier. One has a seat that won't stay locked & falls down constantly during the ride, one has loose handlebars that rattle and rock if you lean on them at all. The saunas don't smell like they get cleaned. Will be cancelling my membership whenever I can go up there the same day that a manager happens to be there. ***There was a really sweet girl named Lilly who worked there a while back. Idk what happened to her but she was definitely the best employee they've had.

I have absolutely loved being a member for 4 years. I originally signed up at this location, now live in Dallas and have to cancel membership. I was told I had to do it at the location I signed up at by sending them an email. When I called to acquire the email address I was told I could only cancel in person, in Tyler. I have been with this gym just shy of a year, and it is one of the cleanest facilities with the friendliest staff! First I would like to brag on Sydney. She is always very smiley and sweet when I come in for a workout, and helps me with any issues or questions I may have. The second girl I'd like to brag on is Karli. She is always very welcoming and sweet when I come in for afternoon workouts. She too assists me with any questions I bring her way! Unable to cancel membership despite attempting multiple different ways and informing them I have relocated out of the country. If you want a membership to a place that makes it impossible to cancel a contract, then join here. Being able to access a gym without needing staff to be present sounds convenient at first but apparently that also means staff are not present to respond to any of your needs/concerns, whether that is via phone or email. Very unprofessional! I don't usually leave reviews but I have had such a bad experience with this specific location. Extremely unprofessional - I had to instagram DM them to the owner to get back to my emails. Was told I could downgrade my membership over email - they never responded and just charged me the highest membership fee with no refund option. Was never walked through or handed a contract when signing up. If you want to cancel, you have to do it before the 1st of the month but only a specific staff member can cancel it. I had to go back to the studio 3 times to cancel my membership, asking if that person was in, and the person still wasn't there so I got charged the next month and they had to pay the next 2 months as well. Started this membership trying something new, decided that I did not want to pay money to watch a video workout. Tried to cancel and see which day would be my 90 day requirement and was told it would be November 19. Went into the location several times after that date just to be told only the manager can cancel the membership. Didn’t catch up to the manager until January, only to be charged again and told there is a 60 day cancellation agreement after you cancel. Definitely don’t recommend, unless you have at least 5-6 months to get out of a membership.

Aside from the crazily overpriced supplies they require you to buy(no outside yoga mats or towels allowed… only theirs) it is very difficult to cancel despite them advertising that you can cancel anytime. Then I had ACL surgery and have had my membership either frozen or unused since before July of 2021. I’ve since moved and have made the trip to cancel in writing during staff hours as I was instructed, only to learn that they require a manager present for cancellations. This requirement was not part of the terms and conditions that I signed for, yet they expect me to honor the 60 day cancellation notice. I’ve never had so much trouble canceling a membership.

I’ve loved HOTWORX for years! The fact that I can get in any type of workout that meets my needs for the day (a hardcore HIIT session, a quick 15 min session, stretching, one of the 8 45-min sessions or just do my own thing) is my favorite part. I also like that it’s a private session or you can workout with friends if you want. I burn a ton of calories, have more energy, less stress, sleep better and feel healthier. Me and my girlfriend recently were referred and did the free session. We really liked it, the facility was great and the staff there was super nice so we told them to sign us up! We were first offered a $270 bundle which was a bit pricey for us since we just moved to Tyler. We were then offered a $130 bundle which was more in our range so we accepted. Let me add we were told that if we buy a bundle the enrollment fee would be waived. So once she told us the price was $130 she never said anything else or give us a different total other than the $130 dollars we were told. The next day we check our bank accounts and we were $275! Twice of what we were told which is not okay. If we were told that would have been the price to pay, we would have politely declined. And so when I called they were somewhat shady, telling me I couldn’t cancel or if I did it would be $99 when in the agreement it has a 3 day grace period. But now they don’t want to give us our money back for something they did! And the owner hasn’t emailed me back and I’ve talked to employees and the manager and their saying there nothing they can do even though me and my girlfriend were wrongly charged. They tried ways to make it up, but we just want to cancel and have our money back. We even agreed to give back the equipment that we haven’t even opened. But apparently everything is non refundable which is ridiculous if you’re not even told the price of what we’re buying. The customer service was very unprofessional, as we got in contact with the owner over email she was very out of sync and hard to get a response from. She told me she would call that upcoming Friday and never did. Called me Saturday, left a voicemail for me to call her back and when I did not even 6 minutes later she didn’t answer. She then told me see would talk Monday evening but since my bank got ahold of her she decided she didn’t want to talk anymore even though the bank said we could work things out because they couldn’t help. Then when I called to ask for the corporate number, her big brother was put on the phone. He was very rude and disrespectful by yelling and cussing at me through the phone to the point where I lost my cool because I don’t take kindly to disrespect when I’ve tried to be nothing but nice. I then talked back with one of the employees who told me I should have added up everything when we weren’t told about anything additional. She would also go on to say “I’m a salesman, I don’t talk numbers, I talk benefits.” The thing that shocked me the most is she said she had a similar situation happen to her so I asked why she would do it to other people and she couldn’t respond. Horrible customer service and very unprofessional in my opinion. I hope something like this never happens to anybody else.

After doing the free session, me and my boyfriend decided to sign up. We were told $130 was the bare minimum we could sign up for. The next day we were both charged $275. This amount was nowhere on any agreement or receipt and we were never told this price either. If we had known that it was that much we would have never signed up as we cant afford that because we are both recent graduates and just moved. In texas, this qualifies as deceptive trade practices. Scammed a friend out of close to 300 dollars. Extremely unprofessional, broke their terms of service, refused to openly communicate after multiple attempts, and threatened to file harassment on my friend for trying to contact them.

Decided to try HOTWORX again, met the new manger I think her name was Tiffany she was great, very professional and friendly and the staff have all been really awesome. I love the 24 hr access because I’m normally sweating it out at 6am and I’m usually by myself or not too many people. When I go during the staffed hours, everyone I have met has been nice and welcoming and friendly. I’m glad I gave them another try and I love the atmosphere. If you have been on the fence I highly suggest you try them out!!!

Cancelled and after my 60 days was up continued to get charged. Called numerous time and spoke to many different employees and the manager and they ended up trying to justify the charges because I sent my 60 days notice in on the 1st of the month and they said I needed to send it in on the 31st to not be charged an additional month. 6 months later after my membership has been cancelled they charged me and my husband AGAIN. I called and they blamed corporate and said they’ll be refunding and that it’s happened to “almost everyone in their system” WOW! They’re also not staffed for many of the hours that they have posted for “staffed hours”

Crunch has a sauna + gym + tanning + infrared red light therapy + daycare for a fourth of the price to go here and get bad service and unnecessary charges.

Please, run from this place! To start off,when I tried to cancel 2 months ago, I kept getting the run around about the managers email address to cancel and it took forever to get it done. My 60 days is up, and I should not have been getting a payment drafted out of my account, but It did. There are numerous reviews on here stating that the same thing happened to multiple people and that the drafts continued on for months making people cancelling their cards, because the owner would not take care of their requests. The owner is highly unprofessional, and I have had nothing but problems since the get go. I enjoyed Hotworx while I had it, but the rooms constantly had broken cup holders, the bathrooms had flies, and I could not hear the speakers 8/10 times I went. Please, think twice before giving this place your hard earned money. UPDATE: I called and I did get a refund, so hopefully they are making some changes to have a better system going.

While my wife went workouts were great, but beware we cancelled on 5-4-19 and had it confirmed by email as well as by a worker and we are still being charged every month for the service we cancelled. Called each time new amount came out they say they will fix it and refund but nothing happens but a new charge the next month. Not a good experience for wanting to use it again

I wish I could give this location zero stars. I went in to store and cancelled my membership on 5/4/19. I signed a paper that day confirming my cancellation, which has mysteriously been misplaced. Despite numerous phone calls and repeatedly asking to speak to owner and for owner’s email, I have had no luck. They continue to draft the membership fees out of my account 6 months later. Do not join this gym!

Enjoyed the workouts and people but the Tyler location won’t stop charging my card even after I cancelled my membership. And only not credit all charges. Left message over the phone and emails and no credit yet. Next month comes and is hit again with the charges. So be careful trusting them with your cards. It’s hard to stop it. I’m going to have my cards cancelled and reissued to stop it because the owner/manager won’t fix it.

This is a great way to burn the most calories in the shortest amount of time! I like that it is accessible 24/7, very clean and so far the staff that I’ve met have been very nice and helpful. If you have been on the fence about joining you should go for it. :)

I had a 10:30 Friday morning session set up for a complimentary session. Upon arrival no one was there to let me in the building for the class. What a waste of my time!! Needless to say, I will not be joking Hot Works Tyler. The management needs to train their staff!!

This is my new favorite work out place and method!! The girls up front are super sweet and helpful all the tine. The afterburn you get is awesome because it raises metabolic rate and burns more calories for free!! Love the privacy of each session and the place is very organized and clean! Y’all need to try it!!

Still continue get charged to my credit after I cancelled my membership and paid for 2 months after signed cancellation agreement. (cancelled membership on 01/2019, paid for 02/19 and 03/19 per policy, but still got charged for 04/19). I've tried to contact them several times, always received the same answer " I will contact the owner and will get back to you" but never hear anything back from them.
