My son could not wait to be tall enough so he could participate in the ninja summer camps at HGA. HGA offers year round activities that benefit the child and the parents especially with parent night out events. HGA is a true neighborhood asset that caters to the entire family.

Birthday parties here are great! They are so organized in the planning stage and then day of they help set up and clean up. They serve your food and cake, ensure you get pictures and supervise and entertain the kids in the gym. Highly recommend!

I want to write a review for my favorite coaches, coach Sky coach Taylor, Coach Mildred and coach Sergio. I have been taking my kids to HGA for almost a year now and all these coaches have been so amazing to me and my kids. They are so patient and friendly and they are always in a great mood. They definitely deserve a raise for how they treat the parents and the children. It’s a hard job. But they make it look easy.

My 3YO daughter has been doing gymnastic here for about a month now, and we couldn’t be happier! At first, she was shy and hesitant to participate, but Coach Tessa was so patient and encouraging, working with her until she felt comfortable enough to join in.
Now she gets so excited every time I tell her it’s gymnastics day. Her confidence and skills are growing and she has lots of fun. Highly recommend HGA and kudos for Coach Tessa!!

We are so happy to have Coach Alyssa and Sky as the coach for our daughters, Simbo and Amarti. They are both incredibly professional and attentive to all the activities they do. As their coach, they have earned their love and respect, and we truly appreciate the positive influence they have on the kids.

My 6.5 year old son was in the hot shot and just started level 3 with coach Maks. It has been great. The boys gymnastics team is very solid. Coaches have a lot of experience and are former international gymnasts. Coach Maks focuses on core strengths and getting the kids good basics so they will be successful in learning skills and routine later on. My son has been enjoying it very much and is already making great progress. Highly recommend the gym. The facility is nice and modern and have top coaches.

Coach Taylor is absolutely wonderful! She has such a natural gift for working with kids and making gymnastics both fun and challenging. She takes the time to encourage every child, helping them build confidence while also focusing on proper technique. What stands out most is her patience and positivity—she always finds a way to motivate the kids, even when they’re struggling with a new skill. Houston Gymnastics Academy is blessed to have such a dedicated and caring coach!

We had my daughter’s 4th bday party here on August 17, and she and her friends had a really good time. Booking was seamless and the hosts did great with the kids. When the party was over however, her gifts were nowhere to be found. The employees insisted that “someone from our party” picked up two trash bags of gifts. My mother in law insisted they check the dumpsters and lo and behold, her gifts were in there. A manager who insisted he was not working that weekend, was there and retrieved them. He explained that a trainee accidentally dumped them. They also misplaced a chef’s knife and insisted they packed it with the rest of our belongings, but later found it behind the employee desk. Mistakes happen, but we did NOT appreciate being told over and over we had our belongings when in fact, an employee tossed/had them. The manager said that another manager would reach out to us then next day on Monday, however, it’s been 9 days since the party and I haven’t heard from a soul. Fun party, but not worth the hassle; wouldn’t do it again, unfortunately.

Revised from 3 star to 5 star. I waited about 6 mths to update the review. Since this review was posted, I have seen the new leadership and they listened patiently and really worked with the parents and the students to make it a better experience to cater to their needs. Very excited to see this administration take the girls team seriously and makes some investments in them. I have been very happy with the tone and tenor of taking constructive feedback and making it better for all. The New HGA Manager (Coach Katie) has been amazing to work with and she really does care about taking the parents feedback to the larger organization and making some changes. Well done team HGA!!
-----
I will start with what I have loved about HGA. Coach Tessa has been great with my daughters' class. She is involved and a great cheerleader for the kids. She is invested in the girls and their routine. The reason I gave it a 3 star:
5 star for coach Tessa
1-2 star for HGA. Their classes are a cattle call for revenue and there are so many kids scrambling everywhere during classes that it feels like daycare. I appreciate they have started class to bring a level of competition - but there is no format for the kids to practice. If your child needs extra assistance in one skill, there is no format to do a private to master the skill. My daughter has been going to HGA and she has done well, however, they run this like a business vs investing in smaller classes that are focused on developing and growing the children and their individual needs.

I wanted to thank everyone thay helped host my Laylas 7th birthday She and her friends had such a great time. The couches were soo great with her friends that ranged from 2 to 10. And in the party room, the hosts were just so attentive and took care of everything. From setting everything up and placing everything to cutting cake and just thinking about everything like photos and all. They were just so great all around I can't say it enough. I recommend having a birthday party there for sure. Thank you guys for making this a great celebration for us.

Just had my 6 year old daughters birthday at HGA. It was hands down the best arranged and organized party. The coaches were amazing at corralling 33 of these very energetic kids - they had SO much fun. In addition to that, they set up and took down everything, helped hand out the pizza and donuts. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much!!

My kids have been going to HGA for a long time. At early ages, it’s recreational. I’m not positive they are excelling at gymnastics but my girls had fun. No different than a little gym or similar. My older daughter dropped out as she saw no point in continuing since there is no girls competition team (she’s competitive). My youngest is now in the new competition team (started 2024) and it does not compare to others in the area where many of our friends attend but an intro to competitive gymnastics. That said they are listening to feedback and improving. I’m hopeful for a proper women’s team as we are currently looking at other options as our daughter improves. Coach Tessa has been good and other coaches supporting do really well with my daughter. There is however no option for 1:1 or private to work on a specific skill.

I excelled at gymnastics. But not from any help from this place, when I came in for testing to see what level I was on all they did for floor was a front roll and when I couldn't do it because I was to busy trying to perfect my BACK HANDSPRING they put me on level one, and that isn't the only flaw their so called vault was just a spring board NO VAULT at all, then last but not least when I asked to show them my front flip they told me that the front flip was for the boys only I mean how sexist was that. If I could I would give this place an 0 star review but then I won't be able to share this piece of advice it would be... THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE I RECOMMEND YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ANYWHERE ELSE.

I was a competitive level gymnast here around 2007. Coaches were extremely abusive, especially Coach Chris. He’d line us all up, a group of 7-11 year old girls, and scream in our faces about how much we sucked until everyone was crying. This happened at least once a week. Sometimes equipment was thrown in anger. A grown man throwing violent temper tantrums and no one said a word. Absolutely ridiculous, hope it’s not like that anymore.

BE AWARE!!!! If you care about your kids safety DO NOT send your kids to summer camp there. They will not care if your kid gets hurt. My daughter came home with sprinted ankle and no one called me to explain . I would totally suggest against sendings ur kids to camp there. They over register kids and it’s extremely crowded and not safe for kids to be running around in such a small area. We learned our lesson hard way. Never ever again. My daughter was limping all day long and no one asked one question nor gave her ice pack. This place endangers kids and I would totally report them to the government agency to shut them down. Also my son came home with a black eye due to being tripped while running towards the foam pit. No one could tell me what happened and we are having such a hard time believe that within a week both my kids had injuries. We have been to many camps and they play soccer and basketball, and never once we had got so hurt within a week. I urge every parent who sends their kids to HGA to think twice. They were not run properly.

We love love LOVE Coach Alyssa! My daughter gets so nervous about walking in to class, and Coach Alyssa always finds creative and thoughtful ways to engage her and make her feel special. She seems to genuinely care about the kiddos, and she notices and shows interest in little things like a new water bottle. Coach Alyssa is attentive to the kiddos’ needs and does an amazing job as a Coach drawing on their strengths. She’s a true asset to the team, and we hope to work with her for many years to come!

Terrible business practices. Buyer beware.
When you enroll in a class it auto enrolls you quarterly into future classes. No receipts sent. No warning of future enrollments. No statements that hey you have not been to class in 3 months. Didn’t catch the mistake until 2500$ later. Only option was to take make up classes which we would also be charged a drop in fee for.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD!
My child has attended Houston Gymnastics Academy over the past several years. We did not enroll in the most recent spring 2024 session due to schedule conflicts. Recently, I received an email of a declined credit card transaction from HGA for a summer session. I had not enrolled my child in a summer session so I called to understand what the charge was for. I was told they had changed their processes recently and I was actually enrolled in an auto enrollment. Not only had they tried to auto enroll/automatically charge my credit card for a summer session, my child had automatically been enrolled in the spring 2024 and my credit card had been charged without my knowledge or a receipt sent. The only reason I received a notification for the summer session was because my card number had changed the transaction was declined. I never received any kind of notice of auto enrollment and never actively elected to participate in an auto enrollment plan. I was told that they had sent multiple emails and they could see that I had opened them. I never received these emails nor did I even receive a receipt for the spring session charge. They would only offer me a refund for the remaining classes in the session and a facility credit for the classes that had already passed and I would also be charged a $50 drop fee (for a class I never enrolled my child in and she had never attended). When I asked to see all of the documentation they had showing I signed an agreement for auto enroll, a receipt for the Spring charge, documentation of the emails they say I opened etc. the manager then said he did not actually have the documentation. After posting on social media I realize now that this is something that has affected multiple people in the community and I am not alone. This is clearly a very intentional and deceptive business practice that needs to be reported and stopped.

We recently hosted our kids' birthday party at HGA (ages 2 and 4) and had the greatest experience start to finish. They make the planning seamless, and I've never hosted a party that was easier. We exchanged a few emails, dropped off a few supplies the day before, and simply showed up to a party that was totally ready for 50+ guests. They handle party favors, a cake, set up, condensing/loading presents, cleanup, cake slicing - everything. HIGHLY highly recommend hosting your child's birthday party at HGA. It was perfect!

Very disappointed about the camp. On first day they didn't give my daughter her lunch.
Second day - she wouldn't let me go, she was crying non stop and that's not like her at all. We had experience with other day cares and camps and it never happened before.
When I enrolled her, I asked about their aftercare, and I was told that they have classes going in the same gym, so camp kids are going to be in the corner of the gym at that time, still running and playing. However, when I came to pick her up, all the after-care camp kids were in the room watching a cartoon and my daughter was sleeping on chairs. It was heartbreaking to see that.
Besides that, my daughter told me that ppl that are supposed to take care of them just don't seem to care. She said that they are not nice to kids. Well, I already knew it since they didn't make sure she got her lunch the first day.Of course, I had to cancel our booking. Update: it got a better second week. My daughter said she had a great day today!

Update 2: We tried preschool gymnastics. Zero difference with camp - only more expensive. No discipline and no curriculum involved. Coaches are the same lazy teens. They did refund the money with the drop-out fee of $50.

This is the first year, 2021, that I have issue. Students are not registered online for summer camp. However, the web states that students are registered in person or online. My eight year old and I arrived to register. We were informed camp was full. No problem. Sadly, the Manager of the camp (believe her name was Misty) delivered the message with the empathy of hangman. We have attended camp in previous years, even 2020 when the world was supposed to end.

In total my daughter has attended this gym for 3 years. During this time, my daughter has grown and developed in tumbling, jumps, confidence and now competitive All-Star cheer. Coach Deb meets each child at their current level and push them towards greatness. Coach Kelsey is an angel, she truly speaks to my daughter's potential and continues to motivate her. What I like most about the gym is the cohesiveness; everyone is family and celebrate each others success - its more than a gym but a family reaching and meeting goals.

My daughter participated in the Cheer program and what a waste it was! Last year was great, but once they hired Deborah and fired our couches the program went to ****. Need I say no more. Stay clear from this place, they will steal your money and refuse to give you a breakdown to where your money is going. Very unorganized and overpriced for what is offered. The cheer program is given very little attention by the owners because their focus is on the Gymnastics side!

Birthday party was easy and fun. Camp was fine. Front desk workers are not helpful for regular semester sign up. No oneone answers the phone. Rude in person. Not worth the hassle. Going somewhere else.

I've taken my child to several gyms in the area looking for the "perfect home". By far we have had the best experience with this gym and their staff is great. It also helps that they are centrally located.

My 6-year-old daughter started here a couple of months ago, and we are very pleased. She's taken gymnastics for a few years at Little Gym at at Gymanst Factory. We love her coach (Sherman), and she says that she used to be bored at GF, but is challenged and has a lot more fun at HGA. The facility is very nice, no typical "gym smell," and there's lots of equipment. Highly recommend!

Love, love, love the coaches. We moved across town and much nearer other gyms, but wouldn't consider leaving these coaches. I'm excited for the new facility to open! Our son loves it! Great experience being on the men's team.

Our kids took basic gymnastics lessons here about 10 years ago. Basic guided play for the kids. The waiting room is crowded and the lessons were mostly just play time.

Great program for boys. Seems pricey but each lesson is 70 minutes for $30 which really isn't bad.

I stopped in here cause I was working in the area and I was just letting them know that they aren't claimed here on their page so they get no credit for anything they do for their Google account in regards to their website and they were extremely rude to me, I have always learned that every person is a potential customer so you should never be rude and clearly they do not follow that philosophy. Both ladies at the front desk provide horrible customer service and it doesn't surprise me that this business has a 3/5 on their rating as of now. Based off first impressions with them I would suggest you find a different gymnastics company to work with.

There used to be wushu classes taught here as well as gymnastics. Whenever a big competition came around, the management used to force our coach to charge over $1000 excess for us to attend the competition as a fee for "representing the gym". After trying to discuss how outrageous this was with the management, they wouldn't listen. Our coach was fired for telling them that he wouldn't charge us the fee the second time that they tried to do it. The owners simply have no concept of ethics.

Ok. The people are extremely arrogant, reckless, and lack ethics. They cancel classes and just do not bother to notify. When I questioned them as to why they did not bother to inform us, they had the following explanation. "We informed the kids in the class" - My kid is 5 years old, how can they expect us to buy such an explanation. As I was not convinced they gave us a second explanation - They said "we posted all over the place" - In reality, you cannot expect people to keep looking around when their kids are doing gymnastics. I asked them, why did you not email us? They had two explanations. First one - "some people do not like us to send them emails" - I was not ready to buy this - notifications are very important. Canceling a class means a lot. Now they have another explanation - "we did send an email (BIG BIG LIE) but you did not bother to give us your email address when enrolling". I forced them to look at my application form, and I indeed gave my email address. Then they said "Sir we did send email, but you may not have received it" - such a BIG BIG LIE. I usually don't pay much attention into these matters, but when I requested a makeover - which I was told that it can be accommodated provided the teacher does not have a full class, they gave me a hard time and were not willing to accommodate. When I questioned them about their ethics - Inspite of me being polite and talking to them, they kept arguing that I am rude (which is not true). All I did was question their ethics and behavior towards parents, they just FIRED my kid from gymnastics lessons. Poor kid, got FIRED from her gymnastics class and they also charged a cancellation fee.
