HSC Sugar Land is the best!!! I absolutely love their method, friendliness, and cleanliness. My kids started swim class at 2 and after just a couple of months they were moving well in the water. What HSC has taught my kids (and me by being able to watch their lessons) has been valuable and has made me feel so much safer around water. I am grateful for HSC SL. 100% recommend.

My two year old has been taking swim classes with Ms. Iliana (Lily) for about a month and we absolutely love it! She is so sweet and patient with the kids and makes sure they are learning everything they need to learn and more! You can tell kids are her passion and she was made to do this! I cannot recommend Houston Swim Club Sugar Land and Ms. Lily enough- we will be taking swim lessons here for the foreseeable future!

The first thing I noticed here was that the staff was friendly. Then, my swimming instructor Mr. Evan was excellent. He made sure I was comfortable with being in the water. I started as a beginner and now I know how to swim freestyle and other safety swimming tips in just 8 weeks. Each session is a hour long which is the enough time to learn. Also I appreciate that other swimming instructors helped me as well.

I honestly can not say enough about this family felt facility. When my daughter first started she was terrified and after day one we both wanted to discontinue. The owner called me personally offered reassurance and suggested we try one more day. A short few months later my daughter is flourishing! Ms.Kenya is an absolute AMAZING Instructor. She is patient, caring, and passionate. Today I watched my daughter swim across the entire pool with tears in my eyes. I’m thankful for that phone call encouraging us not quit. πŸ₯Ή this summer I plan to add my nieces and nephews that’s how much HSC has poured into my daughter. Sign up today, this is the place to be!

Ms. Iliana is incredibly patient, gentle, and truly understands how to work with babies. From the very first lesson, she created a safe and fun environment that made my little one feel comfortable in the water. It's clear that they are not only skilled but also passionate about teaching. our baby loves going to swim class. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a caring and professional swim instructor!!

Wish i can give zero star. Worst ever swim class in entire Houston.
They have some dumb staff and front desk who don't know how to schedule classes. They randomly cancel classes.
Be ware pool is very dirty with germs..so many kids fell sick...no makeup policy..
You will find many good swim classes..
Avoid Houston Swim Club

July 2023 Grandson loved his lessons! Safe environment & quality instruction & instructor.
August 2023 Grandson finished another 2 weeks of Swim Lessons. Fantastic staff and Swim Instructors. He started swim lessons here in 2021. He was a non swimmer and fearful of water. The wonderful staff have helped him progress to a confident swimmer! Highly recommend!

I've been using this Swim Club for 4 years and never had any issues with the instructors or lifeguards. In fact, they are very nurturing. I have two children going twice per week and have NEVER seen or heard any instructor acting inappropriate with the swimmers. Once or twice I have seen an instructor lecture a child for running or doing something unsafe. I've seen some kids not acting appropriate, but the instructors still had patience with them. The lifeguards are always standing near the little non-swimmers watching them closely. In fact, my little 2 year old accidentally slip off the step into the water while her instructor (Mr. Michael) was with another student. The lifeguard (Mr. T) was standing right there and immediately pulled her out of the water. She never cried and the lifeguard had a little talk to her. She has never left the step after that. My 2 year old is still in that stage of not wanting to be near strangers. However, she's doing extremely well with her instructors. In fact, Mr. T had picked her up and carried her to her swimming station and she never cry or even looked scared. My 4 year old has already learned freestyle swimming and is now learning to do the backstroke.

They have different levels which are based on the ability of the child's progress. A child has to successfully perform a three step "float test." At the beginning, they'll teach the child to float on their back and get out of the pool without assistance. Finally, they must float on their back with street clothes on! Such a great idea since kids accidentally falling in a pool usually don't have swim suits on. They are serious about water safety.

We've checked out another local swim center closer to home, but we weren't impress. I think the only complain we have with this Swim Club is the spinner they have for removing water from the swim suit. It's a hit or miss when it's working. Other than that, we're very happy with this Houston Swim Club and my children are progressing very well.

my niece has been assisting here for more than year and half, and our experience has gone down hill through our journey. The latest incident happen this week, when the trainer Eduardo remove my nieces goggles so hard that the goggles bounce back and bruise my niece's eye. He is to tough to be around kids.

I had 3 kids enrolled at this swim club and they started this week.
They have been working with the teacher by the name of Jackie T. She is extremely rude and abrasive with kids. She literally had both my older kids CRYING. She yelled at them, grabbed one by the arm and pulled him to the side.
She either has personality disorder and/or psych issues and she should not be allowed to interact with children. She never smiles, and literally yells. I have watched the interaction from the window.
Whatever her personal issue that causes her to have this abhorrent behavior, she needs to have those addressed prior to any interaction with children.
My older 2 kids are in the 10 day course that starts at 12 pm. There was another child with them, and the mother talked to me today saying that she is really mean, and the kid is crying and doesn’t want to go back. She was not even able to take him to class today.
This was verbal abuse and physical abuse based on the way she yanked my kids arm.
She can traumatize kids for life. They don’t need this this early on or EVER.
This is completely UNACCEPTABLE behavior with kids.
The front desk and manager were completely dismissive of my complaints. I got the owner Tammy’s email from them. I emailed her all details and have still not heard back from her.
I have withdrawn my kids from this place and never plan on going back here, and I plan to take these incidents to the proper authorities.

I bring my 14 month old here and we have been coming since she was 6 months and we plan on continuing for as long as she needs! Our teacher is Ms. Iliana and she is one of the best! So patient and kind with kids and she loves them. You can just tell! Dont think twice, sign up!

I'm not sure about the reviews from earlier on in the pandemic, but these folks are doing every reasonable thing to make the facility safe. They keep the kids separated with dividers between them. The entire staff is wearing face masks or shields (in the water). There is a lady that cleans the chairs for the parents as soon as someone gets gets up.

As for a non pandemic things. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. I really couldn't ask for more. And my kid is learning quickly and becoming a confident swimmer.

We’ve been going to HSC for many years. My boys learned how to swim here and moved on to swim teams. I’ve recommended this place and any HSC location to many parents who were looking for a reputable place for their kids to learn.

So when I signed up another family member, I knew what to expect. It was unfortunately disappointing. It’s not the same as when I had my boys came to this place.

The instructor played football with the floating devices, throwing it to the wall and catching it quiet often. I let it go at first thinking maybe he’s just trying to loosen the kids up, but it happened frequently in a 30 min session with 3 kids. He also told one kid to throw it at him but it ended up hitting another kid that was floating in the pool w another instructor. He had the kids swim the lap with their floating devices and then looked away or chatted w other instructors in the pool. It wasn’t only me who noticed, but the other parents as well. We noticed he didn’t pay attention or correct their breathing, strokes and kicks. He just tells them to swim but not correct their mistakes or even look at what they’re doing.

After we complained, the teacher got it together and I was feeling more optimistic. He also spoke to me about what the kids will be learning by the next week only to get a sub the following week…no continuity.

Our collective complaint gave the other parents 2 extra free days to make up what we thought were a waste of time and money. I will not be asking for make up. I’m just glad the 2 weeks is over because I did my part to get the student there on time and ready to learn only to waste our time the first week then getting a sub the following week. Very disappointed.

I’m sure there are other great teachers. I give it a one star because back then, you get quality teachers all the time. Now, my advice is to know which teacher your child is signed up to before committing because once committed to the 2 week program, you can’t change your teacher.

My son started out swimming w/HSC when he was 3. We moved far away from Pearland location and the drive became a hassle. Therefore we put him at a swim school closer to home (which was not HSC, but a different swim school that I don’t care to mention). We tried to get in with the Sugarland location, but was placed on a wait list. I felt like he did not learn much during that time away from HSC. We finally received a phone call that my son reached the top of the waiting list, and I was so excited to get him back with HSC. His teacher Mr. Omar is so amazing and very hands on. I’ve never witnessed fast progress until my son became one of Mr. Omar’s students. It was so amazing to see my son’s growth in such a short time. At first I thought this would just be a fun activity for my son to do outside of school, but to see his growth, and to see he is actually engaged is a wonderful feeling. I can not thank the HSC-Sugarland team enough and most importantly his teacher; Mr. Omar. You all do such an amazing job. 😊. MVP πŸ† Mr. Omar

Great facility super friendly staff. They do their best to sanitize after every class. They wear masks in the pool and keep the kids apart. Not sure what the other reviews expect. When you take your kids out in public there's always a risk.

My 4 yr old child advanced very quickly through the program. She couldn't swim at all in beginning and within a few weeks she's swimming and floating on her own. Just follow the program and you'll have the same results.

Both our daughters had lessons when they were 3. They each did everyday lessons for 2 weeks, 2 weeks off and then another round of everyday lessons for 2 weeks for a total of 4 weeks of everyday lessons.

Our eldest daughter could do all the exercises in our pool at home and went up a level in her lessons. Our youngest was more distracted and had to repeat the first lessons. The instructor did do more challenging things with her the second time around, even though it was the same course.

All kids are different and learn differently. One of ours paid attention and learned quicker, the other goofed off and learned slower. The eldest swam 25 yards in 60 seconds at 4 and 25 yards in 27 seconds at 5 on a local swim team. The youngest practiced with the swim team but could not make it across the pool without help. She has been practicing with my wife at home since swim team ended and in 2 months she can now swim the whole 25 yards without help, still flips on her back and floats like she was taught and puts on snorkeling gear by herself and kicks all over the pool snorkeling. She is 3 years and 7 months old.

My kids loved going to class and loved their instructors. They know what they are doing and have a set way of doing it. They have been doing this for almost 60 years. If you can commit 2 weeks for everyday lessons it works very well. If your kid can pay attention it works even better.

Instead of concentrating on how to improve student skills or performance, all the concentration is on how to rip off customers by keeping kids in the same level as long as possible. My kid couldn't pass the level GoldFish in 6 months, with that pace one need to spend at least 10K to get basic swimming skills at this place.

This is a convenient location for us. We enjoyed the class - the pool is clean, the water is warm (too warm for adults but must be good for kiddos) - overall we are happy. I wish however they offered open swim classes and had an option for a longer 1hr long class for toddlers. 30 min class feels rushed.

My kids attended swim classes in Houston Swim Club from 2010 till 2016. Never had major complaints with them. Tried to sign up again today. My 6 y.o. taught himself to swim over summertime and wanted to continue learning. Very unfriendly front desk personnel informed that we must sign up for 2 week every day class first before we can do twice a week classes. Well, I have more than one child and we do not have time in the schedule to come every day for two weeks. Houston Swim Club personnel response was quite rude "What schedule? No, you can join only if you attend every day for two weeks." And that was their final response. They must have been overflowing with new clients recently that they do not need any new ones.

Before admissions staff were too good but after three days we had a problem with a manager outside the kid bathroom they throw our stuff out from the bath room and said you can't put your stuff without the kid to be coming out. I respect the signs but they can't throw my stuff out that was too rude.

secondly they are taking too long to teach our kids to learn , some kids has to repeat 4-5 time of beginning gold fish class .

We are done with this place and I don't recommend houston swimming club its a WASTE OF MONEY!!!

My granddaughter, Maddie, is 3 1/2 years old. We have a pool in our
backyard, and so determined early on, that one of our top priorities was
to make sure that she could swim and know what to do if she fell into
the pool. She began taking swim lessons from Lindsey at Houston Swim
Club in Stafford when she was 18 months old and has taken classes
continuously since that time.

Several weeks ago, I was outside in the backyard with she and her 3
month old sister. I was holding the baby while Maddie was riding her
tricycle around the perimeter of the pool. Suddenly, Maddie cut the
corner around the pool too sharply and one wheel of the tricycle went
over the edge, flipping Maddie, fully clothed and with her bike helmet
on, as well as the tricycle (with her on it) into the pool. My
immediate reaction was to lay the baby down in a safe spot and start
towards the water. As I was doing this, Maddie came to the surface of
the water and used her arms and legs to make her way to the edge where
she crawled out of the pool unassisted. Of course, the water was very
cold and she was crying. However, in a few minutes, through her tears,
she stated, β€œ I saved myself!”

We are so thankful for the patient, loving and excellent teaching that
Houston Swim Club and Lindsey have given Maddie these past few years.
We are so glad that, through the float test, she was given the
experience of knowing how to maneuver in the water fully clothed.
Without the training she has been given, this could have had a very
different outcome. We will definitely be continuing this training with
baby sister with the time is right!

The place is not bad but the only thing I don't like is that they usually have 4 or may be more kids per instructor, so out of a 30min class your child barely gets 8mins of learning. (How much do you think a child will learn in that time?) I think the management should consider to limit total 3 students per instructor.

We have taken classes at YMCA and are way better than this school, they shouldn't have more than 3 kids per instructor and less than 50% of the groups running at the same time. The pool is extremely full, it seems that they care only about profit instead of providing a qualified service
