I joined Impact Fitness a little over a year ago. I am leaving the gym only because I am moving out of Garland to Arlington, way to far to drive! I absolutely love it here. I am very sad to leave. The place is clean, not over crowded and a comfortable place to be while working out. To go to a gym where you are greeted on a first name basis to me says a lot. Shannon and Madison are just the best and I am going to miss it there, it is going to be hard to replace them all as Impact Fitness Garland has set the bar very high!

I have been trying to get a problem resolved and they keep giving me the run around. The phone operator tells me she can't help me and manager is always busy in a meeting every time I call, lol what a joke. If this is how they treat people why would anyone want to come here.

Previous member and I really liked it...I just wasn't familiar with gym settings and/or equipment...So I let it go 😒
Wish they had Silver Sneakers Program.
I rejoined and I'm Absolutely pissed that they DID NOT INFOrm ME THAT IT WAS A YEAR CONTRACT...ON social sesecurity income and cannot afford to be lockeed into ANY COMMITMENT ...AT time of signup they need to inform clients that IT IS A 1 year contract

Horrible service. I talked to a woman manager or atleast that's who I asked to speak to. I was directly shut down when I asked my question. I understand you cannot take credit card information over the phone, but alteast provide customer service when saying no. There's no need to just be rude and short. Being in this industry means your customer service is huge.

I joined this gym and it was ok , the gym is outdated parking at 5 pm is impossible. When i did try to get out of my contract a year and a few months later they made it impossible to get out of it so i decided to finish the contract even tough i did not attend that gym for the last 7 months i paid for. Once my last month came along i called to cancel and i was told i had to summit a 30 day notice of cancellation and i would be responsible for the next months charges as well . WOW not only did i pay for 7 months of fees at a gym i did not use but now i have to pay another month of fees while they process my 30 days cancellation notice , the issue i have is that when me and my wife talked to them 7 months ago and a month ago they never ever mentioned that we had to have a 30 day cancellation notice so of course no that we want to cancel even after our contract is over they are saying that we have to file a 30 day notice . My question is why my contract is over and i even had them email me my contract and no were on my contract does it say that i have to give them a 30 day cancellation notice this gym is just money hungry and honestly very very dishonest i did not mind paying out the remainder of my contracts but now you guys want more just because they made up some bs 30 cancellation bullshit. Show me in my contract were it says that required and i will pay it but you guys cant do that because its not in my contract stop trying to rob people.

Amazing staff and great facility!!
I called in to inquire about a membership and spoke to Jessica and made an appointment to come in. As soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted. Jessica was unavailable so I worked with Jay. He went above and beyond to provide exceptional service! (Coming from sales and service industry, this is HUGE to me.) Jay was extremely thorough and made sure to point out all of the benefits that were important to me personally. He was extremely professional and down to earth. I was never pushed to do anything I didn't want to do, and every action possible was taken to make sure that they earn my business. It seemed like the staff knew every patron personally and it was an amazing atmosphere. I was looking for a gym that would meet my needs while still providing the best experience through exceptional staff. Every staff member that I talked to was helpful and accommodating. The facility is clean and uniquely laid out with plenty of room for every workout possible. It was far from crowded and extremely nice. I cannot stress enough how great of an experience this location provided! I have had poor experiences at many gyms, and I highly recommend checking out Impact Fitness if you are looking for one!!

Great gym. Has pool and basketball court for $20 a month.staff is nice and friendly. They seem to know everyone who enter and leaves the gym before/after work out. Personal training though, is really expensive. I went into fitness connection to get a pass to see what its like and i was greeted with one staff on a phone....right there and then impact fitness will always be my family.

It does need some updates. But staff is friendly, management is responsive and machinery is well kept. I have been a member for few years and I think that if they finish remodeling that pool and upgrade the kids area, they can easily be a 5 star location.

Beware - everything they say is a lie. Get it in writing via certified mail. Do not trust anyone to honor ANYTHING they say over the phone, in person, or via email. They are dishonest folks who will not live up to their word.... they will do or say anything to get extra money out of you. Oh, and good luck canceling your membership if you were unlucky enough to sign up for one.

I liked this gym even though it was small. The classes are great. However, once you sign up for the contract, there is NO WAY to get out. I have tried everything to get out of my 2-year contract, (because I have moved away from Garland) to no avail. I'm still paying for it even though I haven't been in months since my move. The guy who signed me up said I would be able to get out of the contract under special circumstances such as moving, but he lied to me to make me more inclined to sign up I guess. Judging by the other reviews, this gym seems to lie to it's customers often in regards to financial business. Be wary.

Golds...err now Impact Fitness is great. I've been here for about a year. It is a gym to get work done in and not a social club. I love that. Seldom have to wait for machines. Unique layout allows for areas to stretch or get away from the crowds if going during peak hours (5p-8p) m-f. Dead on weekends which is great. Staff is pretty much the same from the golds days and are very nice. Recommend as long as you are there to focus and work hard.

The gym is ok. The classes are good. However, some of the machines look too old, but it's no big deal. However, I really hated that we were lied about our payments. My boyfriend and I joined the gym, and left our other gym, and the guy who signed us up said that they were going to pay for our cancelation fees from the other gym, so we gave him the receipts from our cancellations. He say that it was taken care of. So we were ok, because we thought that the next two months we were going to be having our gym fees covered by them.
So what happens is that comes January, and I get a call saying that we are late on payment. We go to them and they also have a late fee, but they "waived" the fees and according to them the late fee is taken away, and so we go back the next day to talk with the manager and the sales guy who told us, that they were going to pay for our cancellation fees. They say that they had a problem, but they were going to take care of it. That meant for us that our payment was going to be covered by them, but it did not happen. So, it is Sunday night and my boyfriend and I are here making a payment that is double the regular monthly payment, because of a late fee, that they apparently had already taken away (which was a lie again). We are really mad and simply wanted to cancel our memberships, because it's not really about the money, but is about how they lied to us, more than 3 times!!! But we will not, because don't feel like seeing their faces again for cancelation. So we will just set automatic payments. But I'm really disappointed. I thought that by talking to the manager our payments were going to be taken care of, but seems that he did not even care. That is what I call an awful customer service.

I’ve been coming to Gold’s @ Garland for about 4 years. The layout is great, equipment is plentiful and in working order and it’s always clean. The staff is friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. I work out here almost every day and enjoy it very much.

I worked with Tiffanny Rogers as my trainer and she is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend her group classes as well. She created a custom exercise program which addressed my weak points (previous ankle and lower back injuries) and developed my lifting form, core strength, and cardio to burn off the fat. I made more progress with her in a few months than I had in the previous two years.. highly recommend her for any level of fitness.

Great Gym, great atmosphere, from the moment you enter and leave you are greeted both ways. I've been there three months and have gain 30 pounds of muscle. My trainer Hans Betten is a great motivator and exemplary trainer. I have been through several gyms none come close to Gold's. The staff is cordial and professional, those I've met to and spoke shows great enthusiasm such as Tiffany, Nathan, and Zac. Keep it up guys.

This gym is unique in many ways. The personnel (who by the way workout too) are always friendly and always there to give advise when needed. My experience is main with the personal trainer Will Henry. Not only did he help me with getting to my goals , but he also made sure I had the basic foundation perfected to achieve a higher goal for future.

This gym is awesome, I have been a member for 2 years and I love it! I had checked out other gyms but felt completely intimidated. But here the atmosphere is friendly (without feeling like a social club), the staff is great at making you feel welcome and that this is somewhere you belong. Tiffanny is my trainer and she's the absolute best. She has a real passion for helping people and you can see it in her personalized approach.
They offer an array of awesome classes and plenty of straight forward easy-to-use equipment.
I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a gym.

Wow! What an AMAZING gym!!

I started going to Gold's Gym in Garland last year and was very impressed by their customer service and expertise. They continued to update and remodel the facilities during the year I was there (and probably will have more to come), which shows that they are always seeking to improve their services.

All of the staff were friendly, took time to get to know your name, and made sure to always welcome you when you walked in and say goodbye when you left (a small, but appreciated gesture). The staff didn't just seem to work there for the pay, but truly worked there out of a care for their customers' health and fitness.

I was able to work with one of the trainers, Anthony, for the year, and was nothing but impressed. He tailored the workout to my specific needs and goals, and did everything he could to help me accomplish them, even in checking in on days that I was at the gym without a session scheduled with him. He was very flexible in his schedule (which was super helpful to plan sessions coming from someone with a very inconsistent, but very busy schedule). I would definitely highly recommend paying the extra money for training with him!

I was nothing but impressed with this gym and would recommend it to anybody living in the Garland area. I'm just sad I had to move away from such an incredible gym with a world-class staff. Thank you, Gold's!

I first joined this gym not really knowing what to expect. I haven't had the best experiences at other gyms and a lot of them became very boring after a while. I think the best part about this gym is how at home I feel here. From the first time I stepped in this place I was welcomed with open arms by people that legitimately wanted to help me. It was possible theyes wanted me to get better more than I did I'm the beginning. I love the way the staff is so easy and willing to talk to and give advise. They have classes like Zuma, yoga, body pump, spinning classes and a wide range of cardio and strength training. The trainers are very knowledgeable and definitely keep things interesting. There's never a bad day when I end it here. It really does have that great family vibe and I'm so glad I decided to join. They really do care.

Golds Gym Garland has always been fantastic for my husband and I. Tiffany Rogers just did a crazy intense workout with me and another golds gym member today and I loved it! Tiffany paired me up with someone along the same level and now I have a workout partner and I'm so grateful for that. This gym is literally our second home along with its staff!

I love working out at Gold's. I feel like most staff makes an effort to know members' names or at least recognize faces. The personal connection really helps keep me motivated. It's not the fanciest gym in town, but I didn't get the same personal interaction at LA Fitness or Lifetime. My kids love the child care staff and that's one of the most important things to me. I'm so happy with the changes that have been made in there over the past year.

"Been a member since 1987--renew membership has always been reasonable. I really like the current General Manager--think he would work with anyone I would send over without my friend being hacked off because of him. The lady who opens at 5 am is one of the most efficent I have seen in years. Prompt opening with the ability to KNOW everyone by NAME. Early mornings are the only time I can come due to a situation in life--So--it is very important for me to begin my day with a pleasant staff--including the lady personal trainer--who ALWAYS has clients."

Warning: Do not sign any contract with this gym!
They sent one of their promotion cards to my address and I fell for it! Worst, most expensive mistake ever! They make you sign a one year contract that you can't break, if you stop attending for any reason, let's say you move to another city, have a baby, etc... they'll keep charging your credit card and you won't be able to stop the payments. The guy who signed me up didn't explain clearly all the terms of the contract -his name is "Storm" and boy, this is the most expensive mistake ever.
The equipment in the gym is not very modern, the water in the pool is sort of muddy and there aren't any dressing rooms, just bathrooms. In the showers I have found used tampons, sanitary napkins and... the whole bathroom/shower/lockers area smells like pee.
Won't ever be back there.

I found the gym to be quite pleasant and motivating. The staff is very informative and seem like they actually WANT you to accomplish your goals. Other gyms seems to get you all hyped up about the experience, but then once you sign up all the enthusiasm is gone. At Gold's I actually feel like they are part of my experience. The cost is low, and the quality is high. I don't know how else to put it. There are some other local gyms (LA Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Planet Fitness) but I haven't found the customer service I get here, and the staff is normally too busy trying to sign new members to help out. The machines are good quality, and there is plenty of privacy to work out at your own rate. I love this gym.

I was signed up by Nathan last August. When I failed to show up after a few weeks, he called to see what was up. A few days later some one else called to see when I would come in. Nathan warned me in advance that he would be doing this to make sure i used my membership. As it turns out I was ill so they froze my membership until I was better. Nathan is still there and he is the GM and he takes a personal interest in my health and so does the rest of the staff. My trainer is excellent! They are very motivational and I have not experience any pressure other than the pressure to come in and use the facility.
