Great studio and class…HOWEVER they are not for beginners. They are fast flowing class and not a lot of instruction on posture and poses. So if you don’t know what you are doing, you need to ask them to slow down and or take a different class. Recc having yoga 101 to work on poses and postures and alignment in order to provide solid foundation for yoga and for fast flowing classes

Since they’ve opened I’ve been promising myself I’d go. Today I finally did, for the Core & Stretch noon session. Absolutely the best! It had been awhile and the yogi Cecilia was super helpful to get my lizard and pigeon pose correct. Great atmosphere, very chill and Zen. I’ve gone to one freebie session at Galveston Island Brewery led by Melody several months ago and was impressed. I signed up for 30 consecutive days as a personal challenge. Going back tomorrow! Oh the cool lavender towels on the forehead were a pleasant and classy touch! 2nd day, went and Melody the owner was the yogi. I was so happy she did not focus on the same area! Obviously they coordinate-what a concept. Absolutely amazing atmosphere and experience. And today, 4/4, we had Kylie. She was equally as adept, cleverly weaving core work and stretching. Very helpful with proper positioning (much needed for me). 3x this week! So it’s been about six weeks of two or three sessions and I can tell you I feel the difference! The crepey wrinkles are disappearing, my core is stronger, gut a little less prominent, posture better and rear end rounder. It could be in my head but husband agrees. It’s all about the discipline and the … Lavi towel reward! I signed up for the monthly auto draft. 5/12/25 Update: Journey into power was definitely above my level, I have a long journey to get there! Whew, that was a workout!

Amazing experience, not your typical yoga class, a true physical challenge and mental hiatus.

As a yogi since 2006, I can confidently say that Island Salt Air Yoga is one of the best yoga studios I've ever been to. The studio itself has a calming, natural atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The instructors are knowledgeable, passionate, and attentive, making it easy even for beginners to follow along with the class. I especially love that Island Salt Air Yoga offers a range of classes for all levels. No matter what your skill level or preferred style, you're sure to find a class that suits your needs. Overall, I highly recommend Island Salt Air Yoga to both seasoned yogis and beginners looking to deepen their practice. Give it a try -- you won't regret it!

A real gem -
I have practiced at Island Salt Air for about two years now. The space is beautiful. Big windows you can stand in front of and look out as opposed to just staring at a mirror or a wall. Melody has to be one of the most positive individuals I have ever met. She is always so warm, welcoming, and encouraging. Definitely look out for her on the schedule as she does not teach as often as I'd like.
Whenever I have a concern I can email the studio and get a response back in a day or so. When COVID hit she was great about letting me pause my account when everything shut down.
The only cons for me I suppose include the turnover rate of some of the instructors I liked, since some are students at UTMB and so they may only teach while they are at school and then move after.
It would also be nice to have some more of the slower paced and more meditative classes like Yin on the schedule. You have to be in a certain mood to want to do a Vinyasa class and sometimes I'd want to go slow while the pace was fast.
All in all a positive experience. If you are in town for the weekend and need a place to drop in or if you are a student needing some stress relief, I'd give ISA a try.

The studio was clean, class was exactly what I wanted. Instructor was cool. I do think $20 for you first class is a little high, maybe $15. Nonetheless, I would go back.

I dropped into a 6AM yoga class with Natalie while on vacation in Galveston, and it was AMAZING. The class was challenging and fun, Natalie is a compassionate and confident teacher. You could tell the studio was very well run, and the cold lavender towels at the end of the practice were a vacation in themselves. Thank you!

As an tenured Yogi (not good, just seasoned), I can't express enough how much we love Melody and Island Salt Air Yoga.
This is the best yoga in Galveston! I've studied under Melody for three years, and her energy, expertise and structure are incredible, as is the quality of all her teachers.
If you're living on the island and looking for a yoga studio to call home, this is your place! If you are an island visitor, try it out!
Whether you are new to yoga or experienced & looking for a push, they are simply the best the Island has to offer!

ISA is home! In my 8 years of yoga practice I have never been to a more open, loving and community driven studio. Melody, Olivia, Natalie, Deanna and all the teachers are phenomenal. There is an offering for anyone interested in aligning body and mind through the added power of a hot studio. For the more advanced Yogi, look no further than Melody's Tuesday/Thursday 7:30pm Advanced Baptiste Power Vinyasa. You will be challenged! Did I mention the cold lavender towels during savasana?!?!

Beautiful studio. Nice and hot. One of the few places left that offers 90-minute classes. Always a friendly welcome. Parking no problem (use the parking app and it won't charge you if you check in before 9 a.m.!).
