My son has been taking this class for a couple months, and he really enjoys it! This is not a child that's easily impressed, but he speaks well of the class and instructor. Plus, for $30....that's a steal!!! I hope this class continues! Totally worth it.

Training with Mr. Turner has been a real journey for me — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. When I first started learning karate, I thought it was just about defending myself. But through his teaching, I realized it was way deeper than that.

Mr. Turner didn’t just teach me how to fight — he taught me how to stay calm under pressure, how to stay focused, and how to carry myself with confidence and respect. I’ve grown a lot through his classes, and I’ve taken away lessons that apply way beyond the mat.

I’ve learned how to push through challenges, how to be patient with myself, and how to keep improving even when things feel tough. It wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it.

I’m really grateful for everything Mr. Turner taught me. I’ve come out stronger — not just in karate, but in life. And for that, I’m truly thankful.

Turner Sensei is a phenomenal instructor of Traditional Goju Ryu Karate! He and his team have been a pillar of the Dallas community for many years. Their proficiency and dedication to the people of Dallas has led to the development of successful and hard working students.

Karate Of Dallas Seiwakai is a great place to learn everything from hand to hand, knife to hand, firearms training, archery, Katana training, pressure points, and joint manipulations, as well as escape and evade training. I especially love how the class is tailored to help women be able to defend themselves in various street situations.

The atmosphere is good and the people are friendly and well prepared in helping you in personal training, healthy eating development, as well as even educational opportunities and community service involvement. With connections in various Divine 9 organizations, international martial arts clubs, as well as educational institutions such as Howard University, Dallas College, and University of North Texas. I would highly recommend Karate of Dallas Seiwakai!!

Turner Sensei teaches Goju Ryu Karate here! This is a great place to be immersed in traditional teachings. Turner Sensei's teaching style forms and adapts to each student, creating a sense of family and inclusion. Regardless of your previous experience, mindset, body type, age, or even disabilities. You will engage in lineage histories, culture, and Japanese language! He will guide you through the techniques and Kata as you progress. Turner Sensei's training has instilled in me a higher sense of self, devotion of well being, strength, and desire to pursue the lifestyle of a Goju Ryu karateka!

I do and would always recommend Turner Sensei's teachings to anyone who wants to gain a healthy lifestyle, confidence in your own body, learn a traditional martial art, and be a part of a Dojo family that is always growing!
